Welcome Cheeky Club to the social podcast and community for everyday amateur. Hello Ki Hello Anna and hello listeners. Today we are got a very, was concluding a little race, very cap, and that's actually it. That's all we're gonna do for the, and we're gonna announce some exercise as well. That is not it. That is not it. And you know what else is called well coming at you live right now. From my bedroom, from Anna's bedroom in the QT Hotel in Surface Paradise, gold Coast. Yes. Dressed in matching robes. We're wearing our Rob. We've been, we've been for a swim. We'll get the whole, we're gonna have a rundown, but we're very relaxed right now. We are. So we have had just had a sleep tight tea. Yeah, true. It probably worked too well. alright. First of all, let's kick it off with our notable run. Pbe, but we can't except for ones this weekend. Oh. Oh, no. Sorry. Not for you. That's so mean. Okay. True. No, they can't close. But I won't say my race as my best friend. Yeah. Yeah. Even though it really was my best friend. Yeah. Perfect. Gimme your best. Okay. Aside from the race, aside from that, my best friend is my session on Tuesday. So, as Alexis will know, I've been bit unwell and I wasn't really sure how I was gonna be feeling coming into this week. So that session was gonna be a bit of chest start. Mm-hmm. and the session was, two by one K. Yeah. And then eight by 400. Yeah. Which in my head I was like, this feels like a big session. That is a big session race week. But it was actually only just over 5K and I was on a lot of That is big for race. Big. Yeah. It's still big, but it was a lot of recovery. It was 92nd recovery. so I was kind of a bit trepidacious going into the run, but, two things that made it exciting. Number one is Sean, my boyfriend, got back from Europe the day before. Yeah. And then because he was so dead lagged, he was awake the morning. Did he join you? And he came and he did the session. Oh my gosh, Sean. Yeah, I know. And. I'm still smoked me in the last four hundreds, which I didn't, didn't, but it was just so fun having you back. And then the other thing is. I felt made better than I thought I would. But I think even on the, the day before, which maybe I was still feeling like, oh yeah, I know this. But then I think it was the perfect session'cause there was heaps of recovery. He 90 seconds standing rest between the four hundreds so I could recover and. I was wearing when you raised shoes, trialing them on and they were, feeling lost and snappy. And so that was quite exciting. And I kind finishing, I was like, I still wanna see how the next few days go. But I had feeling pretty good. Yeah. Nice. Very good. So that was good. Tell me what about your best run of the week? My best run was a run the first time in a long time, and it was my only run of the week, which was today. We a cheeky shake out run on the Gold Coast, so thanks to so many of you that came along. I'm sorry to everyone who got stuck. I'm sorry. Yeah. Everyone that tried to got second traffic, it was, a three kilometer run. Mm-hmm. Which is my biggest run in a few months. it was really cool to survived. It's so nice. It's the most beautiful weekend up here. Yeah, it could've been nice. Um, I think we, someone on the shakeout runs said that they thought that we reverse Jed ourselves.'cause we were talking about how it's always pretty gross rather when we come up here for the weekend. but it was so nice. There's barely winds. Sun was shining, shining, running along the Gold Coast, which is always beautiful and it was honestly just so nice. To be running, like my hip hurt hip, that wasn't so good. Yeah. But it was just so nice to be running. I just really like remembered how much running is just so fun. I really like it really. Do you think you'll be able to bit more? Not really, no. I don't think so. I am gonna go back to the physio on Thursday, so we'll see how we can go. did someone give you a good tip to go to a pelvic, pelvic floor physio? Oh, they say pelvic floor. Yeah. Same, same thing. but yes, so I'm gonna ask my physio about that, that's about it. what was your last run of the work? Well, my work run was on Monday morning. Which was literally just a 30 minute jog. But so Sean had flown in that morning really early and then he got back at next 6:30 AM or something. Yeah. And so I ended up like panic team for a while before I even starting my round. Started my run really late, nearly eight o'clock. And you know, he just a bit like, oh, I'm just in a rush now. I've really gotta get to work. I mean, one time it was nice because. The sun was up. Yeah. And most of our are in pitch black dark darkness. But yeah, I was running and I did a little loop and I just never felt warmed up and that's when I was like, okay, I think I'm not gonna be able really raise this weekend. Yeah. I was coughing heaps. Yeah. so that was a bit of a low point way, but obviously. Valid a little bit, so that's good. Lovely. What about you? I honestly, every bit of exercise I've done this week has been so, so lovely. I would say my worst running related experience, and it's only running related because we're up here at this moment, is I locked myself out of my room before Yes. And had to go downstairs to reception and admit that I was useless and. They, yeah. Which is fair. It's completely fair enough because they asked like who I was and I, well, I explained the situation and then they said, oh, do you have any ID on you? Which I replied, no, all my phone and everything is in my room. And then obviously they were a bit suspicious. Well, not suspicious. I think they were just trying. Yeah. Which is fair enough. and then they were asking me like, when we got in, what time did we get in? How I'm liking the room, almost fishing for details of the room. And I just, I felt so uncomfortable. I was just, I'm just not good in those situations. I just get so awkward and then I feel like I get a bit sort of flushed and then almost a, I'm guilty. It's almost like a, yeah, it is almost like a guilty con. Yeah. so I literally responded to them being like, I am me. Please me. Believe me. It's Anna. Yeah. It, it's funny, it is slightly funny to me'cause I have also locked myself out. Yeah. And they didn't take me at all. Yeah. Makes me think I must look a little bit more trustworthy. Me. Yeah. You know what? I agree. I just feel like I would. Than I do. And not just optic wise, I feel like you're No, no, no, no, no. shall we get into the, your rundown of the race? And also General weekend. Yeah, general weekend. Yeah. We got up here on Wednesday night. I know that. And slow to the concierge and we were, oh no, sorry we didn't get here. No, sorry. Go to the Gold Coast. You know what that is why they would been so suspicious, because I was telling them that I got in Wednesday night. You talking go. Yeah, but we, we gone to the Wednesday night, but we stayed at your parents' house. No wonder they were asking follow up questions. I should. They're like, she doesn't even know when she got it here. yeah. Got here her parents, which was lovely, including g Really nice. And the day Thursday, we weren't really doing much in as in regards to the actual run. Yeah. I had a day off. All work, which was so lovely. Yeah. then came to the QT Thursday night. Yes. Which is where Lulu is set up. Yeah. And we are there very kindly hosting us. It's honestly been the most delightful experience staying here. I don't really stay in hotel and I feel like I'm living like a queen. I know they put they're basically tiny homes. Things that are on the rooftop essentially. Yeah. And that's so nice. Like really cute. Set up. Very nice. Robs very nice ropes. Wearing now. Really comfortable bed. Like crazy, comfortable. Bed size bed. Is it king size? I think so. Or maybe I just feel like it is'cause I'm sleeping by yourself. And it's just, yeah, they actually just really nice, really good snacks. Great snacks. We went out for dinner with the team snack. Yeah, which was really cool. what else do we have to report? So they had a shake out run here yesterday. The clubhouse and then Oh, the buffet breakfast. Oh, the buffet breakfast. I can't get that much. and then another one today, which is obviously the one that we posted, So then it came to first morning? Yes, it did. And how did you expect you were doing the half? I was doing the half. Yeah. It, it went well. It was pretty bright early start, like my alarm went off at four 15. Yeah, four 20 maybe. and I did have to force down a very dry bagel. Yeah. which was tough, but. You just have to do it. Have to do it. Did you finish it? There's like a much, I pretty much finished it. No, pretty much. Pretty much isn't finishing it. It actually that big. I know, but that's not finishing it. The last bit I was like much, I was having to put it in my mouth. Sweat power our mouth to it all together because it was so dry. I said to myself last night,'cause we were talking about it and I was like, there in my head I was like, there is no issues finishing the bas I got, I honestly got root 9, 5 7, but that doesn't matter. Um, and I had a banana as well. Good. And then, We got a lift in, my brother and I got a lift in, which was so helpful. Yeah. From some other friends. It's so funny, like even though I knew we had heaps at the time, you always hit traffic driving into the Gold Coast and you always get a bit stressed. I, I just like, yeah. I just wouldn't mind running. Yeah, because within like in the kilomet from, and you just sitting in the car. Mm-hmm. Anyway, it was actually completely fine. he was able to drop us really close and then we jo in. he found these bathrooms pretty much no line. Oh my gosh. Amazing. It's amazing because then we walked a hundred meters and there was a line in crazy block. Oh, really? Yeah. And I just felt like telling everyone over there should have, but at they said, we were like, we really need to go backdrop. Yeah. Yeah. I honestly did less than one ki it was nothing. Yeah. But I did, one stride. Mm-hmm. And I was like, oh. That felt really good. Nice. It was the only, you know, it was only the day before that I actually decided know. I'll try and myself and I won't, I won't just do a pace job with, I actually run out there. so, and then, I mean, always such good vibes on the line as well. Love start line. Just all of the nervous energy. Very good. I listen to that. meditation thing. Oh wait, not manifesting. Visualization. Visualization, humor. Our guest last week on the PO told us about it. I listen to which in our show, last episode, if you. You do wanna yourself this visualization exercises. It really cool. did it get you pumped up? Yeah, it did get me pumped up. No, it got me feeling like focused. Yeah. Okay. Very good. Like energized and like excited. Yeah. Nice. And then, so we had the game plan was. My friend, Ricky and I were gonna run together for at least the first bit when we were gonna go out at four minute case. Mm-hmm. Uh, and then reassess basically 10 days in, like, how are we feeling? Yeah. Yeah. And so we pretty much stayed exactly the. On the same pace. The whole 10 Ks were actually just under four minute Ks, but only by a few seconds. And I was feeling so good, like I felt. That's awesome. I remember getting seven Ks in there and having gel and then being like, I am completely fine. I'm good here. Yeah, this is completely fine. No worries. Which was, which was like a nice. Confidence boost. Yeah. To be comforting. Yeah. You can kind of enjoy it. And then we got halfway, oh, the turnaround point, which is just after halfway. Yeah. And we like a little check in Ricky night and he was, like so comfortable. Really good. And so he was like, okay, 12 K days, upward a little bit. And then it 15 Ks again. Yeah. The 12 Ks, we started going more like the very fifties. Yeah. And I was like, okay, yeah, this is definitely feeling harder, but still good. And then I that 15 Ks, he was like, alright, I'm ready to go. And I was like, okay, I'm gonna try and. Stick up with you. Yeah. Kind of had another gel and a water and then I looked up and he was no duck hundred meter. He you're like mate and context, like he finished three 20, like his last, he was Wow. But I tried for like 500 meters to catch him and then I was like, okay, no. Like this is gonna be a bad idea. Yeah. But I did pick up the pace a bit more, maybe even three 40 fives, but then I got to about 18 Ks. Oh. The other good thing was when I was running with Ricky. Between 12 and 15. He just kind of taking the lead a bit and us looking behind him. But we were kind of collecting some friends as we went and we're like, this girl CE, who ended up, she was running with us and then another girl who runs with run crew, who, I'm not sure what her name was, but she jumped on as well. And so when Ricky took off off, three of us girls were like, okay, let's, let's stick together. Let's work together. And it was such a good, because like, okay, I'll take the first, I'll take the first K. And then we were sort like rotating. Anyway, we got about 18 kbs and I was starting to. You know, when you just in my head, they'd gotten away from me a little bit and I was like, I'm really learning. And I could see 10 meters ahead, but I was like, oh, I don't know. And I don't wanna like, I like completely blocked. Like I just wanna stay strong. Yeah. And I didn't know that were accelerating or I was accelerating. Slowing down. Yeah. Anyway, I was getting a bit worried because I was like, I'm gonna get stuck. Out nowhere and you still got a bit of a way to go ate minutes ago. I was like, and I can see in my splits as well, like I actually did slow down a little bit. Not heaps, but a little bit, those gates. And then out nowhere, our friend appeared front of me outta nowhere because I hadn't seen, I hadn't realized he'd actually been running back in the group. I didn't even realize he was racing in front of, yeah. and he didn't even say a word and I didn't say a word either. I was so dumb. He just like pointed behind him. I just like, get on in here, spot on. And it was the best thing ever because I was just stickers with the pat, like, don't matter. That's so stick pat. And it was so nice. I feel like there's something so accompanying with that, seeing a familiar face in the whose eyes. Oh my god. It was so comforting and I just like sat on his back and actually there was a. I say headwind belly and he head, I felt like in the last few Ks. Yeah. I feel like there's always a tiny little headwind, even if it's not windy, even that bit, because it's a little bit more exposed. And you're right on the bay. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so he took me through to like pretty much 20 Ks and then he picked it up a little bit. Yeah.'cause you were, when I saw you, it was just before 20 K mark. And you were running with him. I was with him, yeah. That's true. Yeah. But he was a bit over 20 Ks when I was like. Okay. We've done it like, yeah, we can do this. And then he, he finished really strong. And I actually, I got to the, the point where you cut in and then you run a few hundred meters on it and I Oh, that's so good. Just as hard as I could. And I had a smile on my face. I think I was telling you this before because it was quite funny. Someone was cheering who I didn't know, I don't know who it was, and I just said, grandpa. And they just go, oh, Phoebe's happy. Yeah. I was like, oh my God, I've got, she's content with what she's doing. Yeah. And I was like, it fast down the line, you know, it's actually really embarrassing. So I got to the end, like gave Pat hug and was saying, connect to those girls. I chatting and I kept feeling I was gonna vomit. Oh no. I don't know. I think,'cause I really went. And I would literally be like, vomit and then would be okay. I was literally gagging you. No, no I didn't. Thank God. I was, because I saw some of our friends Jam and Annie, for example, were like watching and waving and I was like, if I have a vomit right now in front of Everett, this is gonna be so embarrassing. And so I was like, you gotta sit myself down. I'm like, yeah, just chill myself. Because that's kind of like saying hi, I especially you in the moment. I feel like you're like, oh my God. I know. I know. but you know what, it was such a good race. Mostly because the whole race was running with someone. Yeah. Who was not really alone and then two girls and then, and then it was sprint, finish and it makes it so much easier. Yeah. It makes, it just, the whole experience is so much more fun as well. Yeah. So I'm very proud of you. Oh, thank you. Yeah. I feel like I, well, I didn't even, I actually thought my one job today is to get video running and I just. I didn't think you would be running as fast as you were. And so I was speaking to our friend Eric, and he was saying, oh, he saw Ricky and then s was a little bit back and then Ricky went bus, and then we were kind of just like off the side of the road. Yeah. Just chatting. And then I was like, and I'm like, oh my gosh. Go. Then I saw Pat, it was like, I was like, oh hoe. Oh, go to Pat. And then I said to Ed after you ran past, I was like, oh my gosh. I was meant to get a video of her running and I didn't. Honestly, I am really glad you did. I've seen photos, I showed you one of them. I cannot believe Ray photos are never good. You look really strong. And you didn't look heavy when you were in class. I heavy. the time, so I did. uh, what's interesting is I texted the. But this is from last might. Remember my Strava was challenging. I would do 22. Yeah. And it did down grade me to 1 23 50, 50 mm. So it was not giving me a lot of confidence when I checked that last night. I Thanks you. but I did one to 2158. Yeah. So I've beat what's job I thought I could beat. So good. Yeah. See you never, yeah. No. I feel like, you know what? I feel like it's better to have the predictions that are a little bit. Slower than faster. And for you to go out chasing the faster one and to then blow up. Like you'd rather the prediction be a little bit on the conservative side, I think, I feel like I was probably the best I ever pace at half. Yeah. Even though it was You know, I went out a bit slow. Well, I guess that's the point. Like you a bit slower. it was so good. I halfway, but when I turned around I was like, I've got this. I'm gonna get really push. Yeah. Feel. It felt so good to feel really strong then. And even though I got really tired, I guess. Yeah, it's inevitable. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. our, one of our friends, Izzy, who we, we've actually mentioned already this episode, but he was last week. She did the 10 K and we just wanted to get a little memo of how she went. Yeah. So she sent us in, um, a voice note, which we'll play for you Hello? Posters dizzy here. The race report is in and the eye did not she any near the. time that I set out to try get taped, but I did stick to my rice plan. I went out with a super first five KI think I came through about 1650, maybe 1655, 5K, which was bang on what I wanted to run. got through maybe six, six and a half k. I was feeling pretty good. I was in a good pack and then just, I think he got to me. The blood just drained from my head and started seeing stars pulled over behind a car, took a moment, regrouped, and then it was able to bring it in. I think I ended up running as the second 5K, like three 50 average base after running three 20 for the first 5K. So, you know, not my day. But I am really proud of racing that I put in. I did not come here to run an average time. I really wanted to give it everything I had, and that was everything. The heat was probably something I should have factored in to do more. But I'm still feeling really motivated. I'm really keen to give that same raise plan and the other crack in different conditions on a different course. I've actually had a NK coming up in a couple weeks and I'm not deterred. If anything, I've got a fight in my, my belly, I'm gonna. Is gonna come off one day. So yeah, every race is your race, but you just gotta keep putting yourself on the spotlight line and eventually it all comes together. The conditions are right, the body's right, the training's right. So lots of positives to take away, but yeah, different story to be today. Absolutely killed it. Congrats to everyone who ran really well, and if your race did not come off well, I think there are a few victims out there today, but. That's the sport. That's why we love it. And that's the fun of it. If you knew that every single race was going to come off exactly how you wanted it to, then it wouldn't be exciting. So you lose some, you win some. You live and you win. And still great weekend. We, God, what an icon. Oh, she's a queen. She's amazing. She's a queen. A great attitude. We're so proud of you for giving it a crack. We're proud of everyone who got out there and gave it a crack this weekend. Yes. Such a good event. And if you arent have pr, I highly recommend you be put it on you list things to do next year. Not only is the race, but also the Lululemon set up. Yeah. Even if you are, yeah, come. I was gonna say, even if you haven't yet, but it's gonna be, it's gonna be over by this time this podcast comes out. But the the Lululemon clubhouse at the QT Hotel is honestly amazing. Smack. there's recovery debrief, so make sure you put it on the list for next year. It's the best. It's been the best vibe. The best vibe. It's such a fun hangout spot. I wanna, I really like say thank you to l know. That's it's been the funest weekend. Their whole team, they like 30 of the team here rock up first thing every morning. They. Smiling. They're so much friendly. They're making everyone welcome, everyone comfortable. Yeah. Like they have just gone above and beyond. I know. And I haven't done it yet. But you have the customization Yes. Where you can pop little notes and whatnot on the merch that you buy. There's actually a shop this year, lemon Shop Down, which is the first time they've had that. Yes. you actually ran in a. yeah. Yes. So yes, I wore ran in full new kit, which was the shorts to the fast and free shorts, which I haven't run in before. They're really, really good. they don't write up. They've got this like grouping stuff on the bottom, on the, basically like grip to your leg, which is exactly what you need in a race.'cause you don't think about it Gels in the gel. They just work perfectly. And then I wore a little swiftly, tech eraser back tea, which was perfect. It was, it looked really good. Yeah, I really want one. Nice. It felt good. It was really comfortable. Had no issues, so I felt very well supported. Yes. So thank you so much, lemon. Sure. Not only making this episode of cheeky possible, but just for having us this weekend and producing such a fun few days. Yay. Thank you, Lulu Lemon. Before we sign up for today and for season, we just have a one thing to announce. So we have produced merch, which will be coming out in our season break. We have a long sleeve, long sleeve tea. It's really, it's really cool. We've been told that, that it's quite fashionable. Yeah. By people who know, who know, not us. we also have. Hoodies as well. And they are actually, they're my favorite pieces of merch that we've made. Hoodies. Yeah. We even cheekly wearing them for a couple days now. Yeah. Cheekly. Yes. so yeah, keep your eyes peeled on Instagram and then we'll also we'll open up the cheeky merch. So again, once. We have them all of the stock in our hot little hands so we can send off again. I reckon in the next week we'll have that up and running. Um, we do have limited, we have already ordered it all and it's taken a very long time to come. Custom made. Yeah. So won't won't be doing a re release, there'll be no release. so we'll let you know. Be keeping an eye on the Instagram otherwise. We do have a two week break coming up. Yes. So we'll be back in your ears in two weeks. In two weeks. Bye bye. Bye bye.
