Welcome to Cheeky Run Club, the social running podcast, and Welcome to Cheeky Run Club, the social running podcast, and community for your everyday amateur runner. Hello, Phoebe

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Hello, Anna.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

and hello listeners.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Today we are debriefing the Melbourne Marathon weekend. We're gonna be giving you a rundown of what the heck happened. Really earlier this morning. Yeah. Um, for my marathon and for your 10 K race. and first let's kick it off with our best and worst runs of the week. Let's start with our worst.'cause I think I know what our best are gonna be. Yeah. I,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like, I feel like our best are both taken.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

do you wanna start with your worst?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

My worst this week was actually a, I feel like I'm still not running enough to have a worst run. Like I'm running like three times a week and every run I get to go on, I'm like, woo hoo.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Best thing

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

so mine is actually non swim. So on Thursday night,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

a first, A first for the cheeky

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

know on Thursday night it was actually, it was quite warm and we were gonna go for a

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

with our friend Claudia. and then I couldn't end up going. Long story short. Dad had been at home all day and he needed to be walked and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. and I had looked, I, I think,'cause it was warm, I was kind of

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

and daylight savings had

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

daylight savings. Yeah. Daylight savings. I hadn't done anything in the morning, so I was really just looking forward to all day. I like kept telling people at work and then I just never got to

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

do. Yeah. That was really sad. Mm-hmm. That was gonna be really nice. I know. But we should make it a staple. I feel like a post-work swim. Yeah. Over summer. Oh, so

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

so, so good. anyway, what was your worst run or running related activity this

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

week. I wanna say my worst was my carb load.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Mm.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I went, I should guess this. Yeah, I went way harder on the cardboard than I've ever gone before. Thanks to chat GBT, um, which I gave it a heap of details about myself and got it to write me a cardboard plan. And it was starting from four days out gradually building up and by two days out it was Hectic and then a day out, it was actually a bit less, which is quite interesting. I definitely didn't know.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

know.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I feel like historically my cardboard has been a big meal the night before kind of thing. And actually the last marathon, I definitely ate more the day before and even a bit the day before that. But this was at least according to chat DPT, it was like you want so much of it to already be in your liver

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

in your loop up in your Yeah, yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And so that's two

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

it's like, I was gonna say, I think it's like if it's the day before it's kind of too late, you should have already

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

tools

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

of like built those stools up. Yeah. I actually Do you think that the reason why it's less the day before is just to try to make you feel a bit better as

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I, I think it easily could be because I felt awful. Yeah. Like, and I, I think I probably didn't, I probably could have just been like, okay, you gotta listen to your body a little bit. Like you feel sick, stop. Yeah. Stop eating.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

But I feel like, nah, I, I feel like it's, it's strange because normally I'd say yes, but I feel like in this situation, I feel like you are a bit of a nier on food. It takes you a while to get food down.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

That was the hardest part. I'd have to reheat a bowl of pasta three times.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

feel like for you, you actually would've had to Yeah. It would've been good for you to push through.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

actually, yeah. I think being a slow eater makes carb loading really hard because you can't just whip through a meal it felt like. Yeah. On Friday I had the day off work, which was so good because. I feel like all I did was eat. Yeah. I'd finish one meal and I'd be like, oh my God, I have to have my snack now. And then I'd finish a snack and I'd be like, God, I gotta stop preparing for my lunch.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

we were messaging and I was laughing so hard because I feel like I would Thrive in a Carlo. I ate so quickly and all. I think about, I've got so much food noise all the time that I would just be like so good at it. speed that you

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

The speed that you eat would genuinely have made it much easier, but I don't think that anyone would've enjoyed eating as much. I truly, I am

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

no, I, I do, I have had the feeling before, doing a half and trying to carb load. I think it's as well, because you've really tapered off. You're running so you're not getting that hunger. You, like, you just don't feel

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

hungry. That was one of the hardest I, I realized that I like eating when I'm hungry. Mm-hmm. Like that? Yeah. Shocking. It's just look at me thing.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I'm like super, unique in this way. I really enjoy eating when I'm hungry.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

what's it called? Terminal uniqueness. yeah, but it's, eating is not fun when you're already full. And I did, I had to, I did have a really good variety, of carbs. I'd go between like pasta noodles. Yeah, bread, rice, I mixed it up a lot. But, Yeah, that was a slog. And the, tuneup session, which was on Friday morning, the warmup to that session, I have never felt almost worse in a run. I just felt so I'd already eaten so much that morning and I got a stitch in my, one K warmup and I was like, oh my God, this is awful.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I laughed so hard. I think it was Friday at midday, so you'd sort of, it was like a few hours into the carload and he sent me a screenshot and you'd ask Chad GPT, Hey, can you please remind me why

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I was like, I need, I need to remind myself

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I need some motivation. I, it

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

wa it was funny'cause I wanted it to tell me. scientifically how much it would help in the race. But it gave me a really emotional, supportive answer. It was really like, we know how tough it is. Skills. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

gave you a little love

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It said, oh, Phoebe love heart. Yeah. And I was like, can you not call me Phoebe I hate that. yeah, that made me laugh. But yeah, the cardboard was a slog.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Yeah. Fair enough. we are going off the tracks today. It's a Sunday afternoon. We are both a little bit tired and we are going to do dun dun. We're gonna do a little recap of our shakeout round yesterday before we do best run of the week because we both, what best runs are gonna

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. And basically the best run of the week is gonna be the main bulk of the podcast because we're gonna talk through, play by play of our runs. so, but yeah, on Saturday morning we had the cheeky Lululemon shakeout run around the 10. and it was sold out. It was sold out. We sold 600, well free. So not sold, but we gave away. Yeah, they like 600 entrance,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I don't know. What do you call it?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

crazy. Crazy, honestly.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah. I actually,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I know.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I remember looking at it being like, it's sold out. Being like, wait, what?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, I know

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

coming?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

coming. It was such a nice vibe. So we literally did a lap of the 10 and oh, and we should say just stenson came. I know.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I know. Bless

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

was so cool. and then Lululemon had set up this similar to what they did on the Gold Coast, just the most elite setup, but just as many snacks as you could want. Free coffee, music, juices in juices. The best vibes, just it's at the terrace of botanical gardens, which just overlooks these beautiful, gorgeous lakes.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

if you side note, if you do live in Melbourne and you're looking for somewhere to go for a post run coffee, like park on Anderson Street at the tan, go for a run from there and then walk in. It's 200 meters from the entrance. I'd never been there before. It is heaven. It's so tranquil. You feel like you're in a different place, don't you

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it's really tranquil. That's why I can't remember, someone I was maybe running with was saying they'd never been inside the botanical gardens before. They've just been around the

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

tent around.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

was like, no, it's really nice

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

It's, yeah, it's quite

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, I was just a really good atmosphere. there was one cool moment on the run. I think you were ahead of me, so I think you were already in, we'd finished and we were standing sort of. You know, at the end where all the Lululemon staff were cheering with their signs and at the same time this other run club was coming out of the 10. Yeah. And they had a massive boombox and were blaring music and they looked really cool. They were all in black and they were like kind of swaggering out and they were kind of colliding with our group. And then this other run club was coming across the Anderson Street Bridge it was like the battle of the.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Shakeouts.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. But it genuinely was there were shakeouts all over Melbourne. You couldn't move, but you'd be shaken out. Yeah, you would

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

you would be

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

You would literally be shaken out. But yeah, it was, I just think it's so cool how much the shakeout run has become just this institution of a marathon where everyone knows it's,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

such a, there's such cool events because I feel like previously, sort of years ago, these kind of events where, you know, you get given free product, there's opportunities to kind of try stuff on or customize things. I feel like it was quite exclusive to maybe only influencers and like it was like invite only. But I feel like that it's just become accessible to everyone. Yeah, it. There's just something so good about it and the energy that you get before a race or the vibes and everything. It's just

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

you can't compete with

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

it. Oh,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

gets you in the head space. But also we spoke to people who were there who weren't racing at all and weren't even gonna be supporting. They just wanted to come. They're like, we live in Melbourne, we wanna see what this is all about. I'm like, that was so cool. So yeah, thank you everyone who came because that was so much fun. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

also just wanna note

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I said I think it was the photographer, I was like, to him we were just chatting towards the end. everyone here is just so nice. so friendly. So nice. I dunno, just like looking out for each other.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

just so, it was so, the chicken community is just so

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

cool. It's so cool. It was such good vibes and I mean, yeah, we said this on the day, but Lululemon just, they do, so they are so good at those events. and they, they have like 50 staff members there. Everyone who worked in their stores were all there just to help out cheer everyone on, which I, I don't know. That always just impresses me so

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Agreed. So, yes. Thank you very much Lululemon for partnering with us for the shakeout run yesterday. Yay. So much fun. Alright, let's get

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

okay, you go first.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Okay. Maybe I'll go Alright, let's get

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

okay, you go first.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Okay. Maybe I'll go first. Mine will be a lot quicker. purely because just the run

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it's a shorter run. Shorter run. Talk

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

don't have as much to give.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Talk me through your whole morning like,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Okay. So I messaged, actually I found out yesterday at the shakeout run that one of our friends, Brit, she was going to do the 10 k Anyway, so I texted her and I sort of asked her, I was like, oh, like what do you wanna do tomorrow? maybe we could run.'cause I all of a sudden thought if I'm jogging around, like obviously it was, it would be really cool. But I feel like it would be more fun if I had someone.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Because your, your initial plan was just to join in with the 50 minute PACE

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, and then she sort of said, oh, I kind of wanna go about four 40 pace. And I was like, yep. Cool. Like, I'll like do that with you. Awesome. so I wanted to see you start, so I left home at about 10 past six and kind of like walk around to the start line and. I cannot the, the Q, the sheer amount of people. Yeah. Doing the marathon,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It's crazy. It was

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

nuts. It was so inspiring. Just thinking that literally every single one of these, well, not, I know that some people might

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

not. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like all of these people are about to run 42 kilometers and

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

they've all trained so hard,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

for it, signed up I don't know, I just, it was so inspiring. Anyway, so I went past the start line kind of to where, you know how you go up the hill

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

at the start? Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

and then I was like, perfect, this will be great. And then all of a sudden this just mass, it was fine for the first kind of 30 people and all of a sudden there's just. So many people are running and you know how people often go out a little bit fast at the start, and like my eyes couldn't concentrate on anyone was just like, oh my God. I'm not gonna, like, I wanna see

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

and I'm not gonna be able to see her anyway. I knew you were gonna be around the like three hour pace group, so. Once they ran past, I just vaguely was calling out. Go Phoebe. Go Phoebe. In the hope that you would

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

which is funny'cause because there was not many people supporting there. Mm. I think there were people standing there, but there were mostly people who were racing. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. And I feel like it was a bit of, it's almost a bit,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It's kind of quiet. 200 meter. No. Yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

almost like too early to cheer

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It's almost quiet. And I just heard over the crowd this like, go Phoebe. And then I just looked up and it's, you just

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I know. And then you're like, Anna. And I was like, oh my God. Um, anyway, so that was, so cool. the other thing, which is, I know it's so common, at race start lines, but the line for the bathrooms and everything I saw was so long, so then I quickly ran towards Flinder Street Station. Yeah. need to say that

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

bathroom, had a quickly,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

then like came back. and then I was waiting for Brit and then I was thinking, oh my gosh, I'm never gonna be able to find it. There's so many people. But I had my phone, so we just shared locations. Oh. And then we started and it was, so we were just chatting. I think the first KI think we might have gone a bit too slow. I think we, we did five 10 or something. But I feel like,'cause we'd

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it really busy? Were there

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

It was so busy. Like we couldn't, I think because it's not as, so we started near the front as well. Yeah. So we were kind of just ducking and weaving and everything. and it was just so fun. So we were just chatting and stuff for the first few kilometers And then all of a sudden we were like, after the first couple Ks, I, I was like, oh, okay, we should maybe just try and go like a little bit faster. and then we're doing that. And then, yeah. It was just so fun and we actually, I kind of thought we would like. Go past the half marathon people. But then I realized it was too early on. The I, I like hadn't looked up the course. So the 10 K course, you kind of, you go around the art gallery and then you actually do the climb up Anderson

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

oh, I saw that.'cause I saw a sign thing, like 10 kpi too. And I was like,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, you like go all the way up and then the end bit, it's, you have to go over that big ramp. you don't go all the way past

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh, that ramp

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

and then go up the

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

that is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like quite a big hill

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Anyway, so yeah, we were just running along. It was just so much fun.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Were you, how did you feel

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh, it was honestly. I literally just kept thinking to myself, this is like the best thing in the world.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I'm like, look at all these people. don't know, I probably would've been annoying actually. I feel like I, it was keeping it internal.'cause I didn't wanna just be to Bri God, how good is this? Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah, yeah. Because she might be

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

be like, shut up.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah, enough.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

anyway, and then, yeah, we got to maybe Five or six Ks or something and went a little bit faster, and then maybe at the seven Ks I was just like to her, oh, do you wanna like go a little bit faster? And she was like, uh, not overly

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

because you were already, well you were doing some four 40 at this stage. I feel more like four 30 maybe.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, probably. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. Anyway, so then, yeah, just like picked it up a little bit. Yeah. Um, finish strong. Finish strong. And then, yeah. I was just having the best time. Yeah. And then I think as well, there's something it makes you so much more confident when you like finishing strong. You're like going past people. I'm like, oh my God, this is so

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it genuinely does. Like it's such a confidence

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Um, anyway, so I was just cheering for people as I was running through. And then, oh, one lady actually on the run was like, oh, I know I like your podcast. Oh,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh really?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

shout out. I don't, I don't, didn't actually catch her name, but that was nice. And then running to the G and I was just like, this is so sick. So, yeah, it was so much fun. It's so, I, it actually was so funny. So when I had about the nine K mark I saw. Max go who's the captain of, I don't know if it's like, he's the captain of that A FLD demons team. Oh my god. I

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

FL Damon.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

AFL demons a Ffl, the Melbourne team.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Was he doing the 10 K?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

He was doing the 10 K. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I saw him up ahead and I was like, oh, I can't let him beat me. Anyway, so then the last kilometer I went like a bit faster

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And Did you beat him?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

and then I like passed him as we were going into the

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

gym. Did you say anything? I

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

was like, go geez.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Did you? He

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

he was like, oh. But then I was running into the G thinking, I wonder if this is just eh, for him'cause it's empty. Whereas like. Running. I don't know, we'll hear about it from you soon, but running in there, there's just something quite magical about

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it. Yeah, true. I wonder what it'd been like for

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah. Anyway, so then yeah, finished and then I was a little bit stressed'cause I wanted to watch the half marathon and then also you come like three times and then I just hate the idea of maybe missing people, especially in fun runs.'cause I know you can track people, but it's always like a little bit off. So then ran over and then caught everyone and had morning, just kept getting better.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

The morning was so good. Wait, so you finished? You did 42 minutes in the end.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Um, I actually don't know.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I'm pretty sure you did.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I don't think it would've been that fast. I think I averaged four twenties.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Would that be 42 minutes? Four?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

No, 43. Four,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Four 20,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah. 43. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Four. Okay. Four twenties would be 42, but

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

no, no, no. Four twenties would be

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Three. No, so if we did 43, 42, 43

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

minutes. Yeah, yeah. Something like that.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

which I is actually, I'm, you literally were just cruising for the first half and I You weren't racing it. Like, you just obviously were just running feeling good. Yeah. That it's so impressive. Like it genuinely, it genuinely is like, I mean I remember when I first started training with run crew, the biggest goal being like, oh, I get sub 43 minutes. so pumped to get that for a 10 K. It is so cool that you can, and I was also thinking about this, the session that you joined in on on Tuesday, you joined in on our session and I was just like. You haven't been running for like six months. I feel like you just get your, your speed or your like power or whatever it is, is so good.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. I don't know if it's that or if it's just I just feel like I just like grinding

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

You, you do like wish yourself, but it's still, I, you, I feel like you just have gotten your fitness back so it feels like so quickly.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. I actually was like, sur surprised. I didn't think I would if someone had to told me before. I mean, it's eight minutes off my bb.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, yeah. But like if someone had told me before, I would've been like, oh, whoa. I don't think I would've done that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but yeah. So fun. It was honestly, I was thinking. and I, I reckon I said this when I was injured as well, just being like, I just wanna participate. And yeah. Even today I am like, yeah, it's like eight minutes off my pb, but I'm

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

but yet you're so happy. You're probably happy with that race than you were the race. You got your PB.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh, a hundred. So much happier. and I had a way better time.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

that is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

so weird how it's just like a little mindset shift it unlocks

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, it does. That's really nice. Oh, good job.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Thank you. Anyway, onto you.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

me.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

So start from the start. I've been like trying not to ask you questions over text message'cause I'm like, just wait for the damn

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Every time I go to tell you something I'm like, actually, no,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, yeah. Um,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

in 10. Um,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

okay. So what time did you get up? So Ray started at six 30.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I got up at like four 15. Nice. That's really early, but I got into bed at maybe exactly nine o'clock. Okay. I tried to get into bed a little bit before night, but didn't, but then I was asleep by nine 30. So I actually got a really, I got six hours and 15 minutes sleep, which. that's good. Yeah. Like I feel like I run off that all the time. So I was, I, I got up and I was yeah. Out of night's sleep, got up, had a bagel and a Gatorade.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

How are you feeling?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Um, I was feeling nervous. I was feeling excited but nervous. Definitely. I think I messaged you being like, yeah, because like, especially after I ate my bagel, I started feeling almost sick. Like, you know when you start getting that nerve where your stomach is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah. Yep, yep. And

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

This is too much information, but I went to toilet like 12 times. Yeah. At home just kept going. Just like my tummy was

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

of good

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah, my tummy was just unsettled. And I was like, oh, no. Did that.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Did that make you nervous?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It did a little bit, but I kept telling myself, you've never had stomach problems in a race before. Yeah. you've never needed to go to the toilet. so it won't happen today. I, it is just nerves. Yeah. and I kind of was enjoying the feeling of feeling nervous as well. Yeah. Because it's just like,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I think I said to you over text, I'm like, just embrace

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Embrace it. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

not that many things that you get to feel nervous for. No.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

for. No. And I was remembering the last marathon I actually wasn't nervous for because. In Berlin.'cause I, it was, I knew that I felt terrible and I was just gonna cruise. so I was like, oh, it's cool to be at a spot where I'm like, I'm nervous'cause I care.'cause I wanna do well on this run. Yeah. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

And I feel like you get, well, I don't know, just speaking for myself, I feel like you get nervous when you know that you can potentially do

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I reckon it's something is at stake. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. and then I. I wrote on my hand my mantra. Yeah. Which I decided was peak life moment. Yeah. Which I decided at the shakeout run.'cause I was having the best time and I was just like, oh that's right. this is what, what it's all about. And then I was just thinking I'm about to a marathon. I'm not sick, I'm not injured. I am in Melbourne, this city that I've loved living in so much and just. representing cheeky, like partnering with Lululemon. actually just feels like, so that's so peak life moment. Peak life moment. And I was like, I wanna, if the race gets dark, I think what will help me is being able to like, pull out and be like, you will look back on this race and be like, that was not as good as it gets. But was a really

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

so yeah, I wrote that on my hand and then I, the start line was only about two Ks away from. Where I live and so I just decided to walk, run it in. Yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

that's actually such a good idea.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It was so nice because it's the exact route that I run to track Tuesday. Every Tuesday, and I left at 5 45, which is the same time I leave for track Tuesday, every Tuesday. So I just head out let's do this.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it could not have been an easier. Like compared to I don't know, getting to Berlin and like all the hassle, this is I'm running where I run, I've run every Tuesday of year. I don't know. It was a really nice, and I, it was so familiar and yet it felt different because there were cars everywhere. Yeah. And people getting outta their cars and all I just had such a good sense of anticipation. Yeah. One disappointing thing was I was counting on those Tencent bathrooms being open

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh, were they not?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

no, they weren't. And normally that's such a good hack every time I've done Well, the half marathon. Yeah. They're always open and there's no line. And the nice toilets. Yeah. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

proper toilets, not portals.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. But they were closed, but I was like, I think I'm fine. I just wanted to do a nervous week. Yeah. I was like, you don't actually need to go. Yeah. Um,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I actually, it was pretty funny. Sorry, I'll just interrupt quickly. When I was, because I was just a few hundred meters from the starting line, to watch the marathon, the amount of guys that were

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

in the bush,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

but barely even in the bush. Oh really? I'm like, and it was getting light as well. I'm like, you are literally

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

you're just standing in broad down.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

it's so strange'cause it's like any other day you'd be like,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it would

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

But like, I kind of was like, eh, get it

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

get it done. Do what you need to do, honestly. and so then, yeah, I just went into the start. Block. I initially went in and then it started getting really busy and I was still at like the five hour kind of balloon. Yeah. And I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna have to walk up. Through thousands and thousands of people. So I jumped back out and then ran along the side for a bit until I saw a three hour balloon and then snuck in. Yeah. which is fine. And I had a gel like 15 minutes before I started. Yeah. And I had a revy caffeine strip.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Hey.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

because we learnt about how caffeine helps, which has a hundred milligrams of caffeine.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

That's quite a lot. That's that's like a

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

coffee. More than a, more than a coffee. I think coffee's 80 milligrams from what I could see. And as you know,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

drink coffee.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I don't drink coffee. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

just like,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

well, because it absorbs, it absorbs in your mouth. Yeah. And so you go straight into your

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

blood. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it's like five minutes until it hits you. Yeah. And so I was almost at the start line being like. Oh my God. Like it was all hitting me at once and I was like, whoa,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

whoa, whoa.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I feel so excited and energized. And then out of nowhere,'cause I was right on the side and I look up and Jess Hull's standing there. Cool. And she was doing an interview kind of thing? Yeah. But she just did the quick interview and then she was like looking out and I just started waving at her. Like I was so excited. She definitely, she saw me and I don't think she knew who I was, but she just like weighed back'cause I was so excited. And then they called out like something like, this is Jess Hull, whatever. And I was cheering. And then these guys next to me were like, who's Jess Hu? And I was like, I

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like Ade.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I was like, let me tell you who Jess Hull's you.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

She's the queen of Australia.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

cool seeing her because I'm she's so inspiring.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

so, do you know she was at the, we ran past in the shakeout run yesterday. Oh,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh, I heard that. I didn't see her. Yeah, I know. But I'm just like, oh, you're such, you are the biggest inspiration

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel like being, even just around her, there's like something

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

an aura around. Yeah. Just like. She's just so talented. Mm. And so I just have so much admiration and respect for anyway, so that was a really cool moment. And then quite funnily, normally there's that countdown, but I think they didn't time it well enough and then all of a sudden they just go 3, 2, 1, go and it went off. and then, yeah, we got started. I will say the first few Ks are so chaotic, like everyone is just cutting in, ducking and weaving. I feel like so much energy is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel like people, you, I, it's like people forget. I don't know what it is. I feel like people forget that it's a 42 kilometer race.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

my God. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

it doesn't matter.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

you expend at the start. I mean, I did,'cause I got over the start line. I, and the first few hundred meters, I was just eyes on my feet, trying not to get tripped. And then I looked up and the three hour balloons were like a, a hundred meters ahead. And I was like, oh, okay. And I, so I just tried to be like, just really slowly, ease your way up to them. Yeah. and it was so good'cause Yeah. I saw you like a few hundred meters in. Which was just such a nice moment. And then I saw Jenna, a K in like, and so I was, I already felt quite

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, it was funny, I was messaging her, she was like, said so or something about yeah, she's looking, she's looking really strong or something. Or maybe

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

she said to

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

video I think that she said, looking strong. And I, in my head I'm like, yeah, she's a kilometer in,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

literally. So I, she stopped recording, but I said back to her, I was like, you'd hope so it's two Ks. It's two Ks in.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I thought it, but I'm like, oh, it's so nice. Like,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

so nice. I know. But yeah. it, what was cool is literally from there till I finished, I feel like I probably saw someone every kilometer Oh, that's, that I knew. Like there were people cheering cheeky, which was really, really nice. But I also just. Saw so many people that I knew, which like, it just makes such a difference. Yeah. anyway, so the first Okay. Through five Ks. Through five Ks, so crazy. Yeah. actually. Sorry, first five Ks. I actually was like, oof. I was okay, but I was like, oh, it doesn't feel easy. Yeah, yeah. Doesn't feel hard, but like I'm working. Yeah. But just settle into it. And then from about. Six Ks. I was like, oh, okay. I've got my rhythm. And so you kind of run out and the first few Ks are really busy. There's lots of people cheering. Then you get to the lake and there's a lot of quiet sections. Yeah. But I loved running around the lake because it's so familiar. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Again, I come here every Friday, I know what I'm

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

this is just a big session. Yeah. I, I love those Friday sessions where you're running in a pack and this is just a massive pack and they really do carry you

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh yeah, for sure.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

and so. Ran around the lake. The other cool thing is you get to the other side of the lake and you can see all the elites running past, and so that was so fun. I was just cheering everyone on.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

It's such a big distraction. Then all of a sudden you're, oh, whoa,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

kilometer. It's such, it was like, Kilometers went by and I didn't even notice it. I was just watching them, like trying to watch for Izzy, watch for our friends. Like yeah. Um,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

you're running with a PACE group.'cause you just don't have to think. You're

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

don't have to think follow them. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Like I can just concentrate on seeing whoever.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And then I remember getting to 14 Ks. I think we were leaving Albert Park and I was like. I feel so good. this just feels so nice. yeah, which was really good. But you also have in your head, you're like, it's a marathon. you're meant to feel good at this stage. But just felt effortless. Like I was like, okay, this is great. I couldn't ask for something better right now. And then you get down onto Beach Road. Which I had been quite nervous for, as I told you.'cause it is, you basically run like a few Ks down one direction, then almost 10 Ks straight, line back the other way, and then back. And then by the time you get back to Whedon, you turn onto it, you're at 30 Ks. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel like it's also the most exposed bit,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it's exposed. Yeah. So.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

That's when you're the furthest away from home or like furthest away from the

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

just psychologically. Yeah, it feels, and it definitely felt that way, but in my head I'd broken it down into those 10 kilometer things. So I got to 20 Ks, got to, I remember getting halfway and being like, cool, this is the 10 Ks that I mentally, wanna stay really strong.'cause then it's 30 Ks and you're heading back and I don't know, I just had it in my head to get through those 10 Ks. I don't know. If I had to say then I would say that was probably the most challenging part. It was just people moving around a fair bit found it like a little bit hard to, the hardest part, honestly, the drink stations, I don't know what the, I don't think there's a better way to do them, but it's just everyone just steams across and they're grabbing water and everyone's stressed and then they're cutting each other off and every time I'd finish my drink, which I drank every station, I pretty much drank a whole cup of

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Well I was gonna say, did you go for water or the sports drinks?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I, when there were sports drinks, I tried to get them, but twice I missed them. Yeah, because, and I end up with water and I was like, it's okay. I've got heaps of gels. But I felt good. And along that section I saw Sean and maca, and that was just an energy boost as well. And I was like, cool, just sitting with a three hour group. All good. and then next thing you know, you're turning up and you kind of run up a hill to get to 30 Ks, which in my head I was like, okay, that's 30 k. Like boom. that's 12 Ks go

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Still feeling good.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

still feeling good, definitely still feeling good. actually I was feeling like, okay, I've got back in control. Like I've, well I actually, I'll go back quickly'cause I reckon on Long Beach Road, what I was finding reassuring is I started hearing the breathing of everyone

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

of other Yeah. People

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

like really? And I was like, oh, my breathing

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Like I'm okay.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And every time I chat to someone I was like. Oh, I could just talk I feel completely fine. Prob, what was concerning me is around halfway, my quad started getting tight really randomly

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Like the bottom of your

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

tighten up. Yeah, exactly. It just tighten. And then my knee got a bit sore and I was remembering one of my long runs, my knee randomly tightened up and got really sore and I was like, oh. and I reckon for nine Ks, my quad was just kind of getting. More and more noisy from like nine to almost 30 Ks. But I just kept being like, just breathe through it. Yeah, it's okay. Like you feel good. You can run through a tight quad. Like it wasn't doing anything more drastic than that, and it went away, I reckon around 30 Ks. It just chilled

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

We, I dunno what it was. I

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I don't know. Yeah. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

We'll never know.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

know. Oh, actually, you know what I, I don't know if this is what it was, but when I,'cause I jumped the fence to get into the, and because Yeah. And I was a bit nervous when I jumped and I kind of whacked my quad. I feel like I almost gave myself a bit of a cocky that was like a bit sticking out of the fence. Yeah. And I whacked it through.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

imagine if that derailed your race and you're like, I think it's from jumping

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

that would be so the worst. That was, I jumped the fence and then the guys behind me just unhooked it and moved it and they all just walked in. I was like, oh,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

cause I jumped. cause by the time I came back, I was like kind of not running late, but yeah, there was just so many people. So I went through the grates. Oh yeah. And this lady was looking at me and I kind of got halfway through and I wasn't sure if she was looking at me. Kind of gonna tell me off or like say something. She was like, great idea.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh really?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

And I was like, oh, thank you.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

came up with it myself.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

so yeah. Got to 30 Ks and I remember, sorry, my strategy was I was lapping my watch every five Ks. Yeah. And I got to 30 Ks and I lapped my watch and I was like, oh, that was a much slower five Ks. and I was with the Pacers, I was with two of the 33 hour pacers, but the other three hour pacer.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

up

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I could now say it was hundreds of meters ahead. Yeah, yeah. oh, we're just slowing down. And I stuck with them for a few more Ks, but I was looking at my watch and we're doing four twenties. Yeah. And I was like, I know what they're doing. Yeah. Um, I dunno why they've slowed down. No, because, well, I had chatted to them a little bit before hand and they'd said their strategy was to go out a bit harder, which we'd kind of done. Yeah. And then they're like, there's some uphills in the second half, so we kind of account for that. So I was like. Oh, maybe they just, but then I also had, in my head, my coach had told me, don't rely on the

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah.'cause like they might

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Yeah. Which I'm sure they still, you know, did it. But, it was like 33 Ks and I was like, okay, I'm gonna start this is too slow. Mm-hmm. Um, the annoying thing was we combined with the half at that stage, so a

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

a bit of a bottleneck. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

So it was good running with the paces'cause they were clearing the way. As soon as I went out in front of them, it was so much harder. Yeah. I found this one guy who was in the same boat as me in that he was trying to catch up to the other pacer. Yeah. And I just kind of sat with him. And then the, the really cool part was then that section was when I started to run into like you guys Yeah. And I was telling you before, but there was like, I had four different groups of friends or family who were cheering around between say, 33 and 39

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

mm.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

and you all. We're in multiple different spots. Yeah. So it was almost every kilometer I would see you guys and get the biggest boost of energy. and yeah, so I got to 35 Ks, let my watch and that was a slower five Ks and I was like, I feel completely fine. Yeah. I'd been waiting and waiting for the wall to come. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, I think I'm gonna be good. I actually said that to you at one stage you were running alongside me and I was like, I think I've got this. I

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I know. It was so crazy. So it was at the 36 K mark and I was with quite a few people and we saw you and then, because I had the Gatorade, so I just ran with you for a little bit and offered it to you. And before doing that, you'd gone over high and high fived everyone, and everyone was cheering for you and you were almost cheering back at them being like, yay,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah, yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like friends.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I was so happy. And

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

then, and then, yeah. You literally said to me, Because I was like, how are you feeling? You're like, yeah, I've, I've got this kind of thing. And I don't know. I think it was that. And then, because I was still running with you when we went past, Bronte and

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Dad. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

who else was there? Georgie and Jane. Yeah. Yeah. and then it was them. I don't know. I kind of world up. There was something I think because it was your, positivity and then the fact that then, because you were like, I'm gonna do this. I feel like I'm always gonna do it now. But then I was like, holy. Holy shit. she's going to, she's like doing it. It was so cool.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

best moment seeing all you because I was so proud of myself.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh. So I feel like we're both gonna

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

cry. I was so, I was just like, and it was crazy'cause there was many days to go you're not done.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

And you've gotta heal.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

knew I had it. Yeah. And I was so proud of myself.'cause I felt so

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And I was like, I can do this. Like, yeah. I just had this moment of being like. Looking almost seeing myself through your eyes and my brother's eyes and my friend's eyes just oh, I'm doing it.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah, I am feeling really good. And I think,'cause I had so much doubt in the lead up and just off the back of last year and like, yeah, it's how bad that marathon

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

a marathon. Like it's a big thing. they, so many things can go wrong.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

and I, all of you had the identical expression on your face of just the, you know, those smiles where it's just almost too big. Like I

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel like when I came back everyone was just like kind of laughing and like, the whole mood.'cause I feel like we you're kind of a bit nervous'cause you like want things to like go well for you and then. After that, I feel like we were all just oh, oh my. Like this is awesome. Everyone was just like smiling, being like, should we go over

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. You want people to be happy with their run. Yeah. And I think you could tell I was

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

She was so happy. I literally, I think I,'cause I posted, someone, oh, your sister-in-law? El She like got a video of it because I of course forgot to film.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Oh, you were

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Oh yeah, I was, yeah. True, true. I had an excuse. just watching it back and I think I even posted it on Instagram literally the iest person to ever run through 36

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

was so happy. And then it was funny'cause that hill I had psyched myself out for Anderson Street. I'm not amazing on hills that hill, every time I run it I'm like, Ugh, this is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

hard.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I'm not Anderson Street. Sorry, but the back of the

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah, yeah. Win liko or whatever it is.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

And it was completely fine. Like I didn't even notice it. Oh good. I felt so strong running up it and especially'cause I was just overtaking people. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Again, such a confidence

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

It was such a confidence Bara. And I could see that three hour flag that I'd been chasing for six kilometers. Oh no. Three kilometers. It was finally there and first I was like, I'll run with it. And after 200 meters I was like, nah. You, you've got this. at that stage I was like, you need to work, like you need to finish this feeling like you've given it

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. You're tired.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I got to the top of the hill and I turned around and I was like, okay, let's go. Like, and I had just sense in my head saying run down the hill. let yourself fly down. And so I was running down the hill and the My last seven Ks Easily my, you can see I get to 35 and that's when I let my watch and I was like, oh, come on, you can do,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

like seven Ks. And I just sped up so much. and then yeah, ran back down, saw you guys again and I was like, okay. This is it, two Ks to go. Anyone can, can do anything for

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

an awesome feeling,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

and I,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel good. I'm like getting faster. I've

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I'm getting faster family.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I've got two Ks to go.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

just, that is literally it. And then I just sprinted the last two Ks. Like I just, and I, I was just so happy. Like I was like. Holy moly. I feel so good. Like I felt my legs felt tired, but I felt completely fine, like cardiovascularly fine. and then got into the G and it's just chaos in the G'cause it was 10 k, half marathon, marathon. And I really wanted to sprint and I kept getting cut off People because everyone's trying to get to their lanes. But I still, I like got around them all. Like

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Come on.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

absolutely

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

through.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. Coming through. And then, yeah, finished 2 56, 21. Woo Which I kind of can't believe that I did that time. that's only a minute off my pb

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

That honestly, that is so amazing. Imagine if you could have told yourself when you were sick a few weeks

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

ago. I know

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I know that you were gonna run two,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I know.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

no, I'm

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I was so, so proud of myself and I finished and it was easily the best I felt finishing so I didn't, I just felt Yeah, good. amazing. Like I didn't feel like I was about to collapse or anything like Yeah. and Izzy Hume Yeah. Had waited. She'd finished like 20 minutes before and she'd waited there for me at the finish line, which she's since told me she all the fishes were trying to move her along. She was like pretending to stretch like, but then had like such a nice moment.'cause it is, we've spoken about before, how finish lines can be almost isolating.'cause you finish and you have all this emotion. You don't have anywhere to,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

your

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

yeah. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. Especially at the Melbourne.'cause you finish inside the G Yeah. Most people it's hard to actually go and watch in the G and even if you do, you're still

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

quite, you can't really, yeah. I would, I would love to see, I hope that I can somehow see footage of myself. Sprint finishing.'cause I reckon I would look so funny'cause I

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

you were arms

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I was pumping my arms and I was like, sprinting. but yeah, had a really nice hug with Izzy and just like.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

like

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Deep mini debrief and you know, and like someone else just been through something. Like

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. You

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

it together. Yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

The suffering in

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. And then ran into quads and got my medal, which I'm wearing now, which is funny. I normally, don't get the race medals because I know that I never do anything

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

a waist. But this one, I was like, where's the medal?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

yeah. Like, I want this.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah, I want it. I was like, I want it. and then, yeah, finished up and here we are.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

we're

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

are.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

How are you feeling now?

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I feel really good. Yeah? Yeah. we walked maybe a K to the car afterwards and I was like, I can, yeah. I think it was a really good thing rather than just sitting down and, I don't know. I mean, I feel like tomorrow's the day that's worse. Yeah. But I, I even remember after Berlin. We had to walk back to the hotel and being in so

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah, yeah,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Um, whereas I, I'm hoping I'm gonna pull up Well, yeah. From this one, because I think when you finish strong as well, it shows you

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

have,

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. It's when you hit a wall.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

you haven't like completely maxed

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Gosh, I'm so proud of you.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

It is honestly. Oh, it's just the best feeling.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I know. I was like, this

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

when does that

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

ever. I feel like there's always, because I actually was thinking Gold Coast last year would be the,'cause that was the last race

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

but I didn't run

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

But you didn't run. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

So when would it have been?

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

It would've been a track race in Feb Last year. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

That is

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I literally was like, oh, well July, Gold Coast was my last race. But I was like, but Phoebe didn't do that.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

did not make it to the star line.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

What a bloody journey.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

but yes. No, I feel very, I feel very happy.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

happy, so exciting. I think as well, just on the back of I know the lead up to Berlin last year was so tough for you and I know that you did the race, but it was just it was a slog. I feel like it's just so nice to have one on the board and be like, oh no, I actually, I do like this. Like this. I can

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

I can do this. Yeah, I can do this. Yeah. Yeah. I completely agree Even just to feel even time aside, just to feel the way I did in that

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

is.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

was such a nice I don't know, moment or like realization or whatever. I was even thinking a negative splitted that a negative split.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

Yeah. I That's a way to run a marathon. Yeah.

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Yeah. I even the marathon that I did the PB NI slowed down a fair bit in the second half. I just went out much faster. Mm. And yeah, that's the way to run a marathon.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I just feel like that's the way to run

ZOOM0012_Tr3:

Anything. Yeah. Yeah.'cause you did a massive negative split. Yeah. It's funny, my coach messaged me afterwards being like, so like, you can do a soccer in February. I was like, not really.

ZOOM0012_Tr4:

I feel like for so many people it wouldn't be, but there's always a positive that you can take away from it. So try and find that and happy chilling out. Yay. Bye
