40: The 2025 Money Vision Board: Manifest Your Best Financial Year Yet
Can you imagine transforming your financial resolutions into reality with just a few visual tools and some creative energy? That's exactly what I discovered when I created my first vision board, a journey that reshaped my financial goals and brought a new level of accountability by sharing my vision with a partner. As we step into the promising year of 2025, I invite you to reflect on your financial triumphs and hurdles from 2024, setting the stage for more targeted and actionable goals. In this episode, we're not just talking about savings and budgeting; we're focusing on crafting a money-focused vision board that turns those vague intentions into clear, achievable targets.
Harness the power of abundance through your vision board, and let it serve as a motivational beacon for you and your family.
xoxo,
Rachel

Welcome back to the Money Mom podcast. Can you believe we are in the new year? Happy 2025. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and you're back into the swing of things. My kids are back in school today and that always comes with a excitement for me to have my time back. We also had a wonderful holiday break and it's time for me to sit down and make some goals for 2025, and maybe you're doing the same. And that's one of the things I love about the new year is that we're in a blank slate. We've just wiped the year clean and now we have lots of potential and fresh opportunities to look to into this year.
Speaker 1:And here's the thing Making. We all know that making resolutions is really easy. It's really easy to sit down and write out what you want for this year, but the kicker is actually sticking with them. It's actually making what you have on your goal board happen. So that's why today, we're going to approach this new year a little differently and I want you to create a vision board. I've done this in the past. In fact, I did my first vision board in 2023. And it was a really powerful experience for me to get tangible, to think about what I actually wanted to create. It's powerful, it's creative and it helps you align your financial goals with your dreams. So this vision board is going to be money focused. That's what we do here on the Money Mom podcast. So if you've never created a vision board before, don't worry, I'm going to walk you through every step.
Speaker 1:It's really fun if you get crafty and you have a board that you want to create. You could. If you didn't want to create like actual visual board of the things that we're going to create, you could just write down these on a piece of paper. But there is something magical, I'm just going to say there's something magical about creating a visual. So it's not just in your head, it's out, whether it's on paper, whether it's on an actual vision board where you have pictures that you can look at. This is us stepping into the energy of abundance and possibility for the new year. So if you don't have the time to create the vision board right now, I'm going to challenge you.
Speaker 1:Listen to this episode, go through what we're going to talk about and then make it happen. Give yourself 10 minutes. That's all it takes. You literally can sit down and Google the pictures, print them off and create the board my first vision board I created in 2023. And I did it because I was in a coaching program and she had me create the things that I wanted to achieve in 2023 for my bit, like what I wanted out of my business. And I was actually so embarrassed after creating the board because I hadn't talked to Brad about these big dreams that I had. I hadn't talked to Brad about these big dreams that I had and I, like, made the board and then I hid it behind the printer. I didn't show Brad and he came across it like months later and he was blown away by the things that I had on my board. We hadn't talked about it and he was like, wait, you wanted this and this and this. I had no idea that this was something that you were working towards. It's fun if you have a partner or a friend to sit down and do it with them, because me sharing it with Brad also held me accountable. I had said what I wanted, but I had only said it to myself, and so for him to know like what I was working towards also really helped as well.
Speaker 1:So, before you look to the future and what you want out of this year. I want you to take a moment, before you do that, to look back on 2024 and reflect on the past year. It's going to help you create a better vision for your future. So, when you're thinking about 2024, what were your biggest financial wins? Did you accomplish anything out of the year? Did you pay off debt? Did you start saving more? Did you finally stick to a grocery budget? And I want you to write those down on paper and celebrate those wins, even if they seem small. Celebrate the wins. I promise you this is an important step.
Speaker 1:And then, after you've celebrated those wins, I also want you to think about what challenge, the challenges that you have faced. Maybe you spent way more in December because of Christmas than you wanted to, or maybe you didn't tackle the debt and you're feeling like upset that there wasn't a crack at that. Anything is okay, but I don't want you to feel judgment. This is all just about learning and reflecting. And then, if you could do something differently, if you had the chance, what would you do differently in 2025 that you didn't do in 2024? Again, there's no guilt here. There's no judgment. Nobody else is going to know about this, but it's good for you.
Speaker 1:Take a moment to jot down your reflections, because it's going to help you better shape your vision for 2025. Once you've done that, now that you've reflected on the past, I want you to get clear on where you're headed and we're just doing this year. We don't even have to think about past 2025. But what are your financial goals for 2025? And I want you to get really specific. Instead of saying, oh, it'd be great if I could save some money on my groceries, I want you to think in specifics. I want to save $500 a month on my groceries, or I want to pay off my $5,000 credit card by December 31st 2025. Give yourself specific goals that are going to give you a clear target, and it also, when you have a clear target, it also makes it easier to create action steps. Give you a clear target, and it also, when you have a clear target, it also makes it easier to create action steps to get to that target. So think about goals that you have in these five specific areas.
Speaker 1:First, saving how much do you want to save and for what purpose? What are we saving our money for? Get specific how much do you want to save and what's it for? What are we saving our money for? Get specific how much do you want to save and what's it for? Number two is debt. Do you have debt? And if you do, which one is your highest interest rate or you want to pay off the most, and when do you want to pay it off? It doesn't necessarily have to be this year, but if you have debt, there should be a goal in mind as to how long it's going to take you to pay that off.
Speaker 1:Number three is investing. If you're not investing right now, do you want to start? Or if you are investing, is there a way that you could increase how much you're contributing to that investment? Number four earning or earning category. You either make money or your partner makes money. Could you increase how much you make this year by negotiating a raise or getting a new job, or could you start a side hustle? Could you do something on the side that's going to help you make more money each month? And number five is your mindset. How do you want to feel about money this year set? How do you want to feel about money this year? How do you want to experience money? Do you want it to feel differently at the end of the year that it does now and really think about what that is and what you would like for that experience.
Speaker 1:Okay, now is the fun part. Now it's time to actually make your vision board. This could be physical, like I said, physical or digital. If you want to make it online, you could do that, but if you make it digital, I really want you to make sure you print it out. So gather the materials that you need. If you want to do make a physical board, grab a poster, get some magazines, get your Google account so you can print off pictures. You need scissors and glue. Or if you want to create it digital, you could use Canva or Pinterest or whatever it is. It's really fun to create a vision board with girlfriends. In fact, you could send them this episode and say, hey, let's make a vision board for 20, for 25 together. Girls night, my house, everybody bring like a fun little treat to share, and you could do it together.
Speaker 1:And then you're going to look for images, words, pictures, whatever it is that represent your goals. So you already wrote out your five goals and then you're going to find the images for those goals. Maybe one of your goals was to take your family on a family vacation by the end of the year. Find a picture of the vacation that you want to go on and print it off and you can put it on your board. If one of your goals was you want to feel less stressed around money or you want to have a better relationship with money, one of the things that you could put on your board is like a statement of I manage money with ease or I control my money. It doesn't control me Something like that. Or maybe, if you're focused on paying off debt, maybe it's a zero balance picture of a credit card statement or something like that, and then you want to. This is where you can get creative and arrange images and words in a way that feels inspiring to you. But there's no right or wrong way to do this. It really is up to you. Something that feels exciting, something that feels fun to do and that you could continue to see it throughout the year and remind you of what's possible. But here's the real secret of a vision board it's only as powerful as the energy you put into it.
Speaker 1:This isn't a one and done project. You're not just going to put it behind the printer like I did. It's supposed to be a daily tool. It's supposed to be somewhere where you can see it. Often, like one of the places that I like to put my affirmations or my goals is in my bathroom, where I do my makeup, because I see them right there. Or you can put it in your kitchen, you can put it at your desk, a background on your phone, and that way, each day, you see it, you take a minute to look at it and visualize yourself achieving those goals. You're actually going to feel the emotion of hitting those milestones. What is that actually going to feel like? Are you going to feel joy? Are you going to feel peace, relief, whatever it may be? Visualization works because it keeps your goals front and center and it's going to keep your life intentional towards those goals. It's like you're planting seeds in your mind and then you're nurturing them, you're watering them, you're giving them sunlight every single day.
Speaker 1:While vision boards are very powerful, they are only one part of the equation and I think they're probably the easiest part of the equation. The other part is taking action. While you're creating these goals and while you're looking at these goals, you need to be thinking about what are some small steps that I can take today and every single day to move closer to my goals. If you want to save more, that might mean starting to set up automatic transfers to your saving accounts or your investment accounts. Or if you want to pay off debt, maybe that means you're making a plan to pay more on your credit card every single month. Or if you're working on your money mindset, maybe that means you're journaling for five minutes a day about abundance and all the gratitude you feel around money. These small steps, whatever they may be you got to be creative on what's going to work for you. But the small steps do lead to big results, because they give you a clear vision and they give you consistent action, which makes you pretty much unstoppable in 2025.
Speaker 1:If you do this, creating a money vision board isn't just about setting goals. We're not just writing down goals on a paper. It's literally about putting your energy into something bigger the energy of abundance, and believing what is possible for you and for your money and family. If you create a vision board, I'm going to create a vision board, and I am going to create a vision board and I am going to post it on Instagram, but I would love to see your vision board as well, so share it on Instagram, tag me HeyRachelKuhns, and let's inspire each other to make 2025 our most abundant year yet.
