And I want to be honest with you because I think there's a lot of noise out there around this topic and not very much truth. So I'm just gonna lay it all out for you. do instead. So first, a little bit about me and where I got started. In 2016, I was just about to have my second baby, and I came in contact with an MLM that I thought was very interesting. My husband was in dental school. We were living on student loans, there was no income coming in, and I saw this MLM as an opportunity for me to have some fun with the product that I really liked and be able to bring in a little bit of an income for my family. I didn't want to have to go out and get a job to bring income in. I wanted to be able to stay home with my children and work on my own time on my own terms. So I joined. Now that I have four kids and it's been 10 years since that original decision, I want you to know that that decision that I made was a very intentional one. I really tried to be smart about it. It wasn't just me jumping into something that I didn't really know about. And here's truthfully what happened. I was wildly successful. Like I made over six figures in one year with that MLM. I stayed profitable. I built real relationships with women that I'm still in contact with today. And genuinely, it was a really good experience for me. And that's why I want to share my opinion because I'm not someone who had a terrible experience in an MLM. I wasn't someone who lost tens of thousands of dollars. Like I was profitable, I made money, and I still believe what I am gonna talk about today.

Why Most People Don’t Profit

The truth is, I was the exception. I was not the rule. Most women who join MLMs do not make money. And I don't say that to be harsh. I say that because that is the reality that you're looking at. And I think you deserve to hear that clearly. Here's what usually happens: you join, you get really excited, you buy a bunch of product to be able to sell the product because you're told that you're gonna be wildly successful. You spend money on maintaining the business and maintaining the stock. And then you're working hard, you're hosting parties, you're posting about the product all the time, but then the checks aren't coming your way and you're not actually making money. And here is the other part that I think is not talked about enough is that people who are imminent MLM think that they own their own

You Don’t Own The Business

business. That's just not true. You are working for a company. The company is paying you to sell their own product. And what we've seen that's happened so often recently is that companies will change their structure and how they want to pay out their MLMs. And within an instant, they can take away your whole income. Literally just because they can, not because you have any control over it. You are not an owner in that business. You are an employee of that business. And that is a risk that I don't think most women realize when they sign up.

The Identity Shift That Helped Me

Now, here's the part I want you to hear is that I actually don't regret signing up for an MLM at all. Like I said, it was a great opportunity for me because what it gave me was more than just income. It cracked something open inside of me. It showed me that making money from home while being a mom, working on my own terms, was completely possible for me. It truly expanded how I saw myself. And that belief, that shift in identity has led me to where I am today, where I have a multi-six-figure business that I get to do what I want when I want, and I actually get to own my own business. That would have never happened had I not started on the journey of working from home. But here's the truth about that is that I actually don't think you need an MLM

Build Your Own Brand Instead

to get to where I am. The MLM isn't the destination, it was the door that opened up the opportunity for me. So if you are a mom who wants to make money from home, you want to be able to start a business. And I mean, really build something for yourself. I think you should think about starting your own thing. And I know that sounds really big and really scary. It was for me as well. But stay with me here because when you build your own business, even a small one, even if you just start it as a side hustle, you own it. Nobody else can dictate anything for you. They can't dictate profit margins, they can't dictate when you work or how much you work or how much you make or how much you sell your product for. And then nobody can pull the rug out from under you. Nobody can tell you the rules are different now. You set the prices, you keep the profit, you build the brand. And right now, in 2026, there are so many ways that women can make money from home. Online courses, coaching, freelancing, digital products, online education, content creation. Like seriously, the list is endless. And a lot of them cost really low startup fees. The question is just figuring out what is it that you want to do? What do you love? How can you help someone and how can you charge for it? That is where your business starts.
