LifeLine Ep 35 - Dispatching on the Spectrum
In the emergency telecommunicator's profession, there are many challenges which are faced each day: from horrific calls to stressful mandatory overtime. Those on the Autism spectrum through face additional obstacles to their career by having a hard time picking up on social and verbal cues from others, but this is not an insurmountable disorder. Joining us this week to share her story is Lilyen Chovanec, a police dispatcher who is on the Autism spectrum and has not only successfully completed training, but is now a trainer herself.
As always, if you have any questions or comments on the show, or you would like to connect with us, please send us an email to LifeLine911Podcast@gmail.com.
