Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen nervous system regulation talked about everywhere. And while a lot of that information can be helpful, it can also make moms feel like something is wrong with them whenever they feel overwhelmed, anxious, or on edge.
I used to think the goal was to stay regulated all the time. So whenever I felt dysregulated, I immediately went into guilt and shame—like I was doing something wrong as a mom. But the truth is, motherhood itself can be incredibly dysregulating. The real shift for me was realizing that the goal isn’t to avoid dysregulation altogether… it’s learning how to move through it and return to calm more easily. 🌿
In this episode, I’m sharing the perspective shift that helped me stop feeling broken and start working with my nervous system instead of constantly fighting against it.
