The world feels louder than it used to and some days we’re all just trying to get through the commute, the workday, and whatever life dropped on us overnight. On this Mindful Monday, I slow things down and come back to one practice that’s free, underrated, and surprisingly powerful: kindness.

I share what’s been going on with me, why I’ve been stretched thin, and how I’m trying to stay flexible when my body and mind aren’t at 100%. From spring weather that can’t make up its mind to the pressure of juggling multiple roles, I talk about being ready to pivot and keeping your values close when your schedule gets messy. Then I read a few kindness quotes that hit me right in the heart and explain why they matter for mindfulness, mental health, and how we treat people day to day.

We get practical too. I talk about small random acts of kindness that actually fit real life: letting someone go ahead of you, holding a door, paying attention to the person in front of you, or simply choosing not to judge. I also share how I try to “lift people up” online by liking, commenting, and supporting other creators, because community care counts as wellness. If you’ve been craving a reset that feels human and doable, this one’s for you.

Quick Hello From Chicago

SPEAKER_00

Chicago. What's up, party people? Welcome to another episode of LQate Your Life. I'm your hostess with the most S. L is in the letter L and key as in the key to your heart. Well, sorry that your girl has been MIA last week, but I am juggling a lot of balls these days. For those of you that are new joining us, I am generally here Monday and Wednesday evenings for mindful Mondays and Wisdom Wellness Wednesdays. And last week was cray cray. I had a lot of stuff going on. Was not in the best place physically or mentally, but also your girl has taken on uh some extracurriculars. I'll elaborate. So as most of you know, unless you're a new listener, I am a middle school special education aide by day. Sorry, I had to take a drink. And then by night, Mondays and Wednesdays, mindful Mondays, wisdom wellness Wednesdays, I am Mama Elkie from Elkievate Your Life Podcast. Well, in addition to that, as if that weren't enough, I thought I'd add another layer. So I became a small time content creator. And I say small time because I haven't been given the full opportunity yet. Right now I'm only able to do a small portion until I prove myself and get more gain more followers. Anyway, on that note, so moving right along to this mindful Monday, first of all, I want to find out how is how's everyone's spring been? Are you appreciating the weather that's been kind of wack-a-doodle? I never know how to dress. I never know, is it gonna be sunny, cold, rainy, windy? I check my weather app every night so I can pick out my clothes, and then I double check it in the morning, and yet I am still sometimes unpleasantly surprised at what is delivered. But you know what? We're here, I'm rolling with the punches, I'm always ready to go with the plan A or the plan B or the plan C, always prepared to pivot. So on that note, here we are, Monday, April 27th. Happy birthday to all you Aries out there. I hope that you have had an amazing birthday and yeah, birthdays are all about new beginnings, right? So I wanted to share on this mindful Monday and talk about kindness because this was brought up in class today and it really resonated with me. So I wanted to share a few quotes, if you don't mind. Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change. Love that. We are all different. Don't judge. Understand instead. I'm all about that. That's why I wanted to do my podcast because I listen without judgment. Another great one. Kindness is choosing love over hate, light over darkness, compassion over judgment. Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up. Jesse Jackson. And as far as the other ones, we are all different, don't judge, understand instead, by Roy T. Bennett. And Unexpected Kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated, underrated agent of human change. Um God free. You know, it's hard to read. Sorry, guys. Um yes, I'm all about being selfless and random acts of kindness. I think we all could learn from these things and be better to our fellow humans, our civilization. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I'm driving to work or home from work and somebody is in a hurry to go in front of me. And I'm like, if it means that much to you, go right ahead. Even though I'm usually in a hurry both directions. I'm like, if it's that serious, go right ahead. And sometimes I just wish others had that same philosophy. You know what I mean? Anyway, on that note, I would love to know what are some practices you have in place as far as being selfless or expressing human kindness. I'll give you another example. Because I'm on all of these platforms, I'm all about lifting other people up, whether it's liking, commenting, encouraging, and just sharing that person some love. And so in return, a lot of my friends are like, hey, can you send this out? Can you push this out? Can you share it? Can you like it? Can you comment on it? Whatever the case may be. And I'm happy to do that because I am of the like-minded of like, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. And we're helping each other. And we all should be working together in today's crazy world with all of the things that are going on in life, with inflation and, you know, deportation and just all of the ugly things that are happening out there. You know, I don't want to talk about politics or religion, but, you know, the fact is our world is changing and so are the people and the mindsets. And I just think it's so important to extend some kindness to our fellow neighbor or person that's in line in front of us buying a coffee or paying for their groceries, or like I just mentioned, trying to cut in front of you because they're in more of a hurry than you are, or they're more impatient than you are. Who knows what that person's going through on that morning, day, night, whatever. So I just feel like, you know what? If we can afford to insert those random acts of kindness, it will make us better people. And it goes a long way. So that is my message today for Mindful Monday is to be more mindful in your day-to-days. And don't just think about yourself, think about others. And, you know, it's like the saying goes, do unto others as you would like them to do for you. Honestly, that's all I have for you guys tonight. Um, it's a low-key night, and I didn't have really much else to share other than being kind to one another and being mindful, and would love to hear your feedback as to what do you do to be mindful? Do you have something that you do daily, weekly, monthly? Maybe you donate to a special cause. Maybe you do what I do and let the people cut in front of you when you're determined to get somewhere by a certain time. Or maybe maybe you offer help to somebody that needs help carrying their groceries to the car or opening that door for them because their hands are full. Who knows? But I would love to hear your thoughts and your random acts of kindness and selflessness. Thank you so much for tuning in. Thank you for listening. Thank you to my loyal subscribers, Angie, Mike Kaufman, Jeff Pada, Kyle Fhew. Lisa Roberts Corbello. Kyle, I haven't forgotten about you. I know you have a birthday coming up. Um, shout out to Kyle. Commitment to love, love is a verb. You can find his audible on Amazon. Shout out to my girl, Lisa Roberts Corbello. I hope to see you in this near future. It's been too damn long, but I know you're working all the time. And when you're not working, you're out having fun with the man or out with the girls. Or in this case, currently helping family. Jeff Para Namaste, thank you for always providing sound advice and just sharing your humble thoughts with me. I always appreciate when I come across something that you have posted about being kind and how to keep yourself grounded. Love you, my friend. And Angie, I hope that you are feeling better and that life is treating you well. And well, Mike Kaufman, I see you and talk to you every day, so no need to send a message out to you because yeah. Anyway, thank you all for tuning in. Thank you all for listening. Sorry, it was a short but sweet podcast, but all the same, I hope that you enjoyed it. I will look forward to your feedback, your commentary on your selfless random acts of kindness, what you do, what that looks like. And, you know, if you don't practice it, maybe this will be a friendly reminder to you to do so. And maybe it will help you to receive some additional blessings you haven't received. I don't know. Just a thought. Anyway, until Wednesday, which would be Wisdom Wellness Wednesday, April 29th. Until next time, have a good evening, everyone. Ciao for now.
