70: Part 1: Breaking Generational Patterns: The Empowerment & The Weight
"Healed people heal people"
In this week's solo episode I dive into the topic of intergenerational trauma and what it truly means to be a cycle breaker. I share my own personal reflections as well as my own clinical insight to this topic. I explore how trauma can be passed down through generations—and how consciously choosing to break those cycles, while deeply empowering, can also feel heavy, lonely, and emotionally exhausting. I share my own lived experience, offering encouragement for those doing the heavy work, and provide practical tools/tips to support fellow cycle breakers (if that's you). Whether you've already chosen this path or are feeling called to begin this work, this episode will remind you of the strength it takes to heal and the impact it makes for generations to come.
Key takeaways:
- Intergenerational trauma is unhealthy/toxic patterns that get passed down through generations.
- Being a cycle breaker means consciously choosing to stop these unhealthy patterns.
- Healing intergenerational trauma benefits not just the individual but future generations.
