[00:00:00] shilpa: Welcome, Alicia. Hi, thank you for having me on here. Oh, I'm so excited. Um, there's so much to unpack, so to speak. Yeah, I want to hear about your journey. And maybe you can even start by telling people about your podcast.
[00:00:21] alicia: Yeah, so I'm a host of the intuitive revolution podcast. I have amazing guests that come on.
[00:00:26] alicia: Um, I call it my selfish little podcast. I get free coaching from it from other people. I get knowledge comes in, but it also gives people a platform to be able to give back, um, for whatever they're doing in their life. Um, as far as intuition, um, spirituality as well, um, which is, I guess what we're going to talk about today and for that.
[00:00:44] alicia: So, yeah, um, I am, I call myself an intuitive healer. Um, I teach people how to, I mean, I'm a meditation breathwork teacher as well, but I teach people how to tap into their intuition. They're different, multiple different [00:01:00] ways. I teach both their inner child work, emotional, um, intelligence, all kinds of different things.
[00:01:05] alicia: But really, it goes back into the intuition. Yeah, for, for how we start to need to live our lives. I guide my entire business through my intuition right now. So it's a fabulous little gift that we were given that we all really need to learn to use.
[00:01:21] shilpa: Yes, I call it the inner compass and when I saw that in your profile, I thought I definitely want to talk to her.
[00:01:29] shilpa: I practice meditation and my course of cultivating different skills has come to this point where I'm like, you know what? I think I have been very intuitive most of my life, and I just didn't realize it. So, my last few conversations with podcast guests who lean into this subject, I'm like, Oh, now I have that epiphany that I'm, I've been there, now what do I do with this?
[00:01:57] alicia: Yeah, that's a great question. And so once you're [00:02:00] able and you a lot of people don't have enough trust in themselves to actually start to tap into it. We all have this gift inside of us. Some people have a more natural different types of intuitive gifts. I have an intuitive gift for feeling for talking to my spirit guides to be able to tap into that to feeling.
[00:02:16] alicia: I'm a healer. I call myself a healer. Some people have. We're all, we're all healers in our own little journey, but some people have more, you know, they're more cla Voyant, they're more diff, have auditory, just different ways that they're able to attack into their intuition. And so it's really how your body feels and, and how it, you just the, the inner knowing that we all have inside of ourselves.
[00:02:37] alicia: So once we start to do that, it's really taking those little baby steps to start to, to trust ourselves. Because we're taught throughout, you know, our society is like, don't trust yourself. Don't trust yourself, trust everything else because. Trusting ourselves doesn't make everybody else money as so that's, you know, if you want to get down to, I guess, the controversial thing of is that's the reason we're not taught to trust ourselves.
[00:02:57] alicia: So we start to trust ourselves and we start to live our [00:03:00] lives by what they are knowing. For instance, Wake up in the morning and be what do I feel like eating for breakfast? What's my what is my body telling me that nutrients that I need it doesn't need all this not if it tells you needs a Bunch of sugar.
[00:03:13] alicia: That's that's not your it's like you're intuition your body telling you that that's where your mind or habits But what does my body tell me? I need maybe you wake up. You're like, you know what? I think orange juice just sounds really really good People say, you know what, this sounds really good. This is really what I want.
[00:03:27] alicia: And then they don't go eat that. Especially if it's a healthy, nutritious, nutritious food. So if you only have orange juice in the morning, go drink that orange juice because that's your intuition, your body intuitively telling you that you need those nutrients inside your body. Um, A lot, we meet people in our, we come across people who are like, we have this kind of, we don't know, there's something off with it.
[00:03:46] alicia: There's, it doesn't mean they're a bad person, but there's just something off with it. Maybe a conversation, maybe something's off with the way people are presenting themselves. They don't feel genuine. Trust your intuition on that. So it's a little thing, little things that we do. Um, [00:04:00] to start to build up to the bigger things, because if we can't trust our intuition for the smaller things, when the big things come into play, we have to make major big decisions in our life, we don't know which way to go, and we're going to start to question ourselves.
[00:04:12] alicia: Now, I do like to tell people that your intuition is not always going to lead you to where you want it to go, but it's going to lead you to where you need to be. So if we And listening intuitively could be maybe this path I really, really, really desire to have this certain path, but my intuitions tell me this is not the way I need to go that this particular moment, listen to your intuition and go that certain way that your intuition is telling you, it may not lead to the path that you dreamed up and you the result that you wanted, but it's gonna be the lesson that you need to learn to get to that bigger desire that is all inside of us.
[00:04:45] shilpa: Um, I have so many questions around this because while I've been in this world of spirituality and um, I would say those who are really leaned into energy, um, I'm [00:05:00] aware of the terminologies in this space. But for those who aren't quite familiar, like, Um, there's the word clairvoyant, clair this, break it down because I have my own perception of where I fall and also my own desire where I'd like to expand to.
[00:05:19] alicia: Yeah, so I guess clair auditory, I don't, I'm not gonna be, I'm gonna tell you listen, I don't know the exact terminology so if I mess this up I apologize. I'm kind of on my little path. It just came naturally to me because it was easy to tap into it. Um, and so what I know is I see, I can see images from things when I go into meditation.
[00:05:38] alicia: So, I would, I'd make somebody, I don't hit the med, I'd probably cut, cut that off. Purposely because I don't want to hear messages it from for other people. I will get into like intuitive like nudges. But as I'm looking at what I'm going into meditation, I listen a lot. And so I hear a lot of like the voices and inner knowing like you'll be very clear.
[00:05:58] alicia: I use example one time I was on [00:06:00] it. Um, I was getting some energy healing work done actually recently at a retreat of a friend of mine, and I was into laying there and all of a sudden it was like, boom, go to this certain country. I was like, okay, what are you talking about? And it was like, go to this certain country.
[00:06:15] alicia: I was like, okay, my friend of mine, he was very intuitive. She was able to clarify in five years, you need to go there. So as here, things like that, that gives me direct. And then sometimes I'll go in and I talk a lot to my spirit. I have. couple spirit guides that I really work with that I trust. Not all your spirits out there are people you need to be working with, but you need to call in the right ones.
[00:06:35] alicia: And you'll know, you'll know, you'll, you will know when you start to call in the right, the right spirits and the guides, um, work with our angels, all kinds of different modalities there. And I will talk to them and I will listen. It'll ask kind of questions where, where do I need to lead? And so I'll just listen.
[00:06:50] alicia: And then when I hear the thing, it's always such a good, it's not a warm, fuzzy feeling, but it's always just the inner knowing of yes. And it's always. Peace and solitary. It may not be what I want to hear. [00:07:00] It may be the complete opposite. It may be like this, you know, you need to, you need to change and do this and pivot this way.
[00:07:05] alicia: And it may feel scary at first, but it still feels peaceful. And so there's two things we need to do when we start to, when I listen to our intuition, is we have to understand what fear feels like in our body. Is it clutching is making just we understand everybody knows what fear and anxiety feels like because everybody's experience that if it feels like that, that's not your intuition talking.
[00:07:27] alicia: That's more your ego. So we have to separate those two. Once we can separate those two, we can go in and we set it comes through. And it's just an inner and inner knowing, like, you know, that https: otter. ai This is probably the best path for me. This, this feels good, even though if it's scary, this still feels like it's where I need, where I need to be.
[00:07:48] alicia: Now, the thing about your intuition, and I think the way the universe works, this is from lots of experience, this is a very tough, hard learner, is it works, is it's going to guide you, it's going to push you in a certain [00:08:00] way that you need to be, because our, where our purpose in life is on these lessons. We have these life lessons that we're learning, right?
[00:08:06] alicia: So along the way, if we decide and we go against our intuition or all the things that are being told to us. against those gifts, then the universe is going to push us there. We can learn the hard way or the easy way. I choose now to tune into my intuition, although sometimes I don't. I, you know, this past couple weeks I've did some things, like didn't listen to, and I was like, I knew better.
[00:08:26] alicia: I like, I knew I should have done it this other way, and it would have been a much easier process for me. But I didn't. I learned a long lesson. So those are things. So if we want to get into talking about people call it psychic abilities and psychic gifts. I'm not a firm believer of psychic gifts on people that can predict the future because we can rewrite our future.
[00:08:47] alicia: I think the future is completely unknown to us. However, patterns that we're repeating we're doing now could lead to a certain future. So if you ever have somebody tell you, first of all, they tell you you're gonna die. [00:09:00] They'll tell you that you're going, Oh, this is going to happen. All these bad things are going to happen to you.
[00:09:05] alicia: Do not listen to that because, because you're putting that type of energy back out. The energy we put back into out in the world, we're going to receive back in. So if we're putting a bunch of fear out, you're almost manifesting that to happen. I think that's why things people predict those things that happens because they literally manifested that to happen.
[00:09:22] alicia: That's where they put all their focus on people who intuitive guides and spirits are not going to tell you they're going to give you guidance. That's why they're called guides guidance of how to maneuver your life to get to the highest desire or to the path that you need to be at and the lessons you need to learn to get to that particular desire that we have.
[00:09:41] alicia: But if somebody is telling you. You need to do you have to do this or you have to do that. You have to do this. I don't think that's true. I think the truth that comes up with inside ourselves. Notice how when someone is telling you if you're talking to a call psychics or, you know, what, you know, terriers, how does that feel in your body?
[00:09:59] alicia: Does it feel [00:10:00] fearful? That's going to happen. Or does it feel like it's something that I'm probably not going to be happy with. I have some fear around it, but it does feel kind of genuine. Just feel like I'm being guided in this direction. So when I work with people, I don't. I mean, I work with whatever the messages are coming through to them.
[00:10:18] alicia: If something comes through like that, I don't want to share that with a person because I don't want that to be on their, their journey. I'm going to give them warnings of, hey, you may want to flip this and you may change, change a mindset around something. You know, things might get a little rocky for, but I'm never going to tell them like the world's going to end in 15 days and you're going to do all this and you're going to, yeah, that's, I don't think that's truth.
[00:10:40] alicia: Quite, quite honestly, people may argue with me, but that's just.
[00:10:43] shilpa: Yeah, I agree. I've always been very skeptical of form communication, what could be in generally called psychic, but, um, but there are some nuances like you and I are discussing that there's this [00:11:00] extreme version of these abilities, so to speak, that are perceived or talked about in modern society as psychic.
[00:11:08] shilpa: But then there's, um, those who have a more intuitive sense. Yeah. Right. The healing aspect for you sounds like by guiding people, that's the form of healing.
[00:11:20] alicia: Yeah, it is. And so and I mean, I do. So the energetic work that I do for people as I'm a Reiki master, I've had multiple different in two months of different modalities and stuff.
[00:11:30] alicia: But what I do is I. Take piece of the pizza that, but it's whatever comes intuitively, like this is what needs to be, what it, this is what's going to get to them to their highest and best good. This is how we're going to clear these energetic blocks out of these, out of them. This is how we're going to do, you know, maybe they need to meditate.
[00:11:47] alicia: I, sometimes I'll have guides come in and say, hey, they need to go eat like a, piece, green leafy vegetable or something, you know, to clear out the certain chakra, and I'll share that with them. And so it's little things like that, that's coming to their best and [00:12:00] highest good to heal, not to create fear within them.
[00:12:04] alicia: Sometimes I'll call in, I'll say, is there any special messages that, you know, they're having, or, you know, you're having a hard time. Is there any special messages of comfort for them? And so I'll call that in. And when I do it, I, and that's the thing, as you're working, if you're working with this, I always suggest making sure that you, the message is not directly for you, but for the other person.
[00:12:25] alicia: Um, because this can kind of get tangled up. I've come to find, you know, so there's very good clarity, you need very good clarity around that message is for that other person. Because sometimes when I'm working, I'm working with other people, I'll get messages that are meant for me. At the time, they're like, okay, well, now you're listening, we're just gonna, we're gonna shove this in, well, we can.
[00:12:43] alicia: Um, so yeah, I mean, I've had a lot of people tell me I have all this crazy stuff happened in my past lives and all this other stuff and I believe part of it that feels intuitive to me and I'm like, okay, so I was told I was a shaman in a past life that gave me chill bumps gave me everything like that was definitely aligned [00:13:00] with whatever things that I had processed there to make it clear clarity.
[00:13:04] alicia: I've had people tell me multiple other things that were crazy. I'm like, you're just making stuff up. So you have to be very, very, very careful. Again, if you're receiving in. Intuitive stuff from other people. However, I don't, I personally don't go see psychics or terror readers or anything like that because I rather have the messages sent to me for my guides and not, if I need something, some clarity behind something, yes, I have certain people I will go, I will go that are in our, like, I will, I will go to, but I don't go see the psychic off the street to get a message because I can go get that message with more clarity within myself.
[00:13:43] alicia: And so that's why I really want people to understand is to start to just sit back and go through meditation and to listen, just sit back with some music, light music, and just sit back and listen and call in your guides and start to feel their presence. And then maybe the next time that you do, sit back with the music, call in your [00:14:00] guides, and then ask them to reveal themselves, their names, because they have personalities.
[00:14:04] alicia: They have different characteristics about them, and they'll start to show through. Joshua's one of mine, and he's just like this little sprighty little guy that comes in, and they have this free flowing little angelic fairy color that comes in. Um, so they have different personalities that come in and work with me.
[00:14:22] alicia: So when you call them in and start to talk to them, get to know them. Ask them questions. Ask them simple questions of not, not a major of like, am I? Yes. Yes or no questions. You can, but not a major. Like, should I take this job or not? Should I do this or not? Ask the question, but ask for clarity. What, what path, what guidance do you, would you have for me on taking this particular job?
[00:14:49] alicia: And then listen how, see how it feels inside of you. I'm really big on the gut reaction as the big thing. How does it feel inside your gut? How does your body? Do you notice your tense, like tense up in your [00:15:00] shoulders? I feel things in my shoulders sometimes. You know, you'll everybody's different. You're going to feel different things.
[00:15:05] alicia: If you can, if you're not listening, just the inner knowing you're going to be like, you're going to know. So you may not hear the actual audio version of it, but you'll hear something that's going to an inner knowing of the right direction to take and keep working with it. It doesn't come to us people overnight.
[00:15:21] alicia: Apparently I've had past lives doing this and I was taught at a very young age to listen, to shut up and listen. So that was one of the benefits of it. Some people, I mean, it's a, it's a skill that we have to develop. We have to work on our third eye. We have to work on our pineal gland. We have to build, do things that are going to build that up.
[00:15:39] alicia: And every day thing, if that's listening to certain music frequencies, if that is, again, trusting your intuition, if that's talking like you have to clear out your shockers, you have to clear. clearness of, of your third eye. To be able to start to receive in those messages. Because if you're just like, just like you're blocking it.
[00:15:58] alicia: If you're just not clear, you're just [00:16:00] blocking those messages that are trying to come through. And then it comes with an openness of receiving in, too.
[00:16:06] shilpa: Yeah, I really appreciate you mentioning that. how does it feel in your body, been leaning more into the somatic awareness? Yeah. And when I do feel something, I may not be a pro at it yet, but I just will say it.
[00:16:22] shilpa: Try to sit with it, you know, especially anxiety and like, where is it coming from? What is it? And, or if there's something that's feels trustful, like it's now interesting enough though, with my own experience with intuition, I am a little bit frustrated with it because I feel like it's just a hit. And I used to think right up till recently that I'm just impulsive because these are just hits and I go from the hit to taking action.
[00:16:53] alicia: Yeah, that's not necessarily bad. So, I mean, I tell people, like, you gotta use your logical mind, your intuitive mind at [00:17:00] the very first. So, how does it feel in your body? Okay? Then your logical mind, your ego, what I call ego, is going to come in. We have to understand how our body functions, okay? Our body, our body systems, our way we feel, functions for, to keep us protected, alive, and for, for danger alerts.
[00:17:18] alicia: Our mind gives those alerts off. And so if our mind is giving off alerts because our mind doesn't care about our happiness and care about anything else that doesn't care. I think it's keeping us alive. So if we understand that our mind is doing nothing but trying to keep us alive and survival and keep our body function, our body going.
[00:17:37] alicia: Our body is trying to feel to give signals back to our mind. Hey, something is off. Hey, I'm sick or hey. I need to take a day rest or something. That's where our body functions. Our soul and spirit is the one that comes in with our with the actual caring, like the feelings that we have, our emotions come from our soul and our spirit.
[00:17:56] alicia: And so if we understand, yes, our brain creates the feelings and but [00:18:00] but it's created out of stressful. It's because it's protecting you. 90, I'd say, I would give 95 percent of people in today's society all over the world are living in survival mode. The tiger is still chasing them, yet there's no tiger to be chased.
[00:18:14] alicia: And so, the way our brains work is we have our amygdala. Our amygdala is telling us, Hey, there's danger. There's something going on right now. We have our prefrontal cortex that develops, and actually till about the 5th or 6th grade, it's prefrontal cortex is not really developing. So we get to about the 5th or 6th grade, I guess that's probably 10.
[00:18:38] alicia: So when we get to that age, it starts to develop more and it's the one that says, Oh, wait, so somebody, Let's say somebody, a car pulls out in front of you, and you're like, oh no, your, your amygdala is going, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, we gotta protect everything, we gotta do everything we gotta do to protect, but your prefrontal cortex is like, oh, wait, situation's averted, soft, they're [00:19:00] on their, they're going, just an, just an example, if we're as children, and we don't get the love and safety and care needed as a child to what we needed, doesn't mean our parents didn't give that to us, It's Uh, to what their best ability was, but if we didn't get that as a child, therefore, our prefrontal cortex is not as developed.
[00:19:20] alicia: If we're constantly, imagine our parents now, parents are, you know, our, my parents generation, or probably your parent, and, and on, and going on back, everybody's in a state of crisis mode. Imagine what that's doing to our prefrontal cortex is now, as we're developing out. So now as adults, we have to start to calm our nervous system down.
[00:19:41] alicia: We have to start to connect. So the amygdala and the prefrontal cortex connects together. In a normal, in a very healthy brain. But they're not connected all the time. When they're connected is when you can start to intuitively trust yourself. And you can feel safe. So in order to do this work, we have [00:20:00] to really start to feel the safety has to come into place first.
[00:20:04] alicia: And so we have to feel, we have to feel safe in our bodies, we have to feel safe in our environments, we have to feel safe with our emotions. And so it all kind of plays together. We have to be able to process through our emotions safely and understand they're nothing but emotions. So when we start to understand that our brain is signaling us fear, signaling us these emotions, signaling us joy, to keep us in survival, to survive.
[00:20:28] alicia: That's its job, and it's a fantastic thing. If it wasn't there, we wouldn't be alive. So people say all the time, we gotta shut the brain down, we gotta shut you can't shut your mind down because you'll be dead. And so we get so much frustration on meditation or trying to get intuitively, and we'd have to do everything perfect, and we'd get frustrated and shut down.
[00:20:45] alicia: That's not how we're designed. We're designed for our bodies to flow all the way, everything to work. We just have so many years of society, of the tigers chasing us. You know, we have DNA that's been passed down through our ancestors over and over and over again that comes to a point to [00:21:00] where this is what we brought into our bodies and this current life.
[00:21:04] alicia: And so, therefore, we have to learn to distress it, to calm the nervous system down, to be able to process through. If you have a very, very, very strong, out of whack nervous system, you're not going to be able to sit calmly. You have to, you have to make your basic needs met and your mind. Again, we're talking about the mind.
[00:21:22] alicia: So we have to flip them switches in the mind to get those mind switches going where your basic needs are met and you're, you're safe. When you start to feel safe and your nervous system calms down, then we can start to bring in some more intuitive practices. And be able to, to open up, but you're not, if your brain is saying, don't trust anybody, don't trust, don't trust yourself of all things, because my goodness, what did, look what you did in fifth grade, and you guys, like you, look what you did 20, 10 years ago, look what you did yesterday, like you messed up yesterday, shame on you, because it's only trying to protect you.
[00:21:53] alicia: And so we take shame and guilt as this thing, but it's, it's a protection mechanism that your brain has. So we have to learn to [00:22:00] start to calm that down. If we can't, if we can't calm that down, your brain is not going to let you, allow you to go into trust your intuition. So another long rambling thing on it, but that kind of explains kind of the science behind, you know, how to start to like trust intuition.
[00:22:15] shilpa: Yeah, I love that because one of the thoughts that I've been meditating on is the fact that energetically when you're stressed, then that channel, so to speak, trust that energy, that's the intuition. Is blocked and it could come from, say, trauma or trauma as an adult, if whatever the big key, small righty of it.
[00:22:43] shilpa: Yeah, it is like you're describing in some multiple levels, like somatically our body can be in a stress mode and then we learn to calm the vagus nerve and learn to really tap into that somatic energy. But [00:23:00] sometimes we're not even in that. Conscious level. It could even not be something that some humans have processed that the fact that you're talking about different parts of the brain have not even been able to connect.
[00:23:12] shilpa: That's more of the physio brain level. Yeah. So then how do you even get to that more esoteric level where you and I were starting our conversation, which is like the channel of the intuition when those channels are blocked. for so long, right?
[00:23:30] alicia: The great thing is we can unblock those very, I mean, it's honestly easily, but there are very easy techniques.
[00:23:35] alicia: There's breath work, you know, that you've talked about. There's meditation. Like you said, it's said and taken. It take when you're like tense and it's bringing the sub, the unconscious efforts that we're doing into your conscious efforts. So it's taking your subconscious into consciousness is basically what we're doing.
[00:23:51] alicia: Sitting and meditation is some of the best things you can do. You're going to get to know yourself. You're going to get to learn stuff, and you can start with a guided meditation. It doesn't have [00:24:00] to be, you know, what I kind of talk about spiritual meditation. It doesn't have to be anything or intuitive meditations.
[00:24:05] alicia: You need something that's guided. Start every day by just taking a deep breath when you wake up in the morning. And then slowly releasing it. Do that at night to start with some things of gratitude. Gratitude will bring out so many awesome things in people's lives. They don't understand things. Oh, it's just to be happy.
[00:24:20] alicia: No, it's also calms your nervous system down. So when you start to calm the nervous system down, somatic dancing, somatic yoga, people, yoga is fantastic. We think yoga is for fitness. No, as I'm sure you're aware, like I see your, your phone. Yeah, it's yeah. It's not about fitness. It's about a mindset. It's about calmness and peace and love and bringing that into yourself and coming to your true essence coming.
[00:24:46] alicia: I mean, you could slay into Boston and just lay there. You can do whatever it is to calm down. Take people take a walk. I mean. The thing about things that go exercise, yes, when you're exercising and you're, you're running and you're doing [00:25:00] cardio, you're boosting your adrenaline's up. We want to bring them back down.
[00:25:04] alicia: So after, for instance, if you're a big cardio person, or you like, like weights, or people like to do, their type of exercise is not like something piece like yoga, or if it's a heavier, you know, Yoga. After you get finished, make sure you come down to a silent and just spend five minutes taking a deep breath and calming your cortisol levels down, your nervous system down.
[00:25:25] alicia: It's very important taking those little steps into each day. If you start setting a timer on your phone for every Two hours to take five minutes of just taking a deep breath, the box breathing in for four, hold for four, release for four, wait for very simple things you can do actually in a meeting with your co work anywhere.
[00:25:44] alicia: Anybody can do this. You can do this in the grocery store. Nobody's really going to know what you're doing if you're so you can continue to do that. It's going to start to calm your nervous system down. Um, start letting it down. Having conversations with people, you know, we get triggered, so if you get triggered so easily [00:26:00] start to figure out why, where that's coming from.
[00:26:02] alicia: People get triggered, you know, say traffic for instance, triggers, it triggers me, I'm like, then I know where it comes from. It comes from a scarcity mode, there's not enough time. If there's not enough time, then it's not, I'm not going to get to do something. And that's where I'm not going to be good enough.
[00:26:20] alicia: So I've been able to tie that down so I can go back and like, talk to my inner child and be like, you know what Alisha, it's okay. You are still good enough, even if you don't make this meeting on time, they will understand. You made your best effort. It's gonna be okay. This is not the end of the world. You know, you're not, you're not a brain surgeon.
[00:26:36] alicia: You're not saving lives. It's, it's okay. Slow down. Slow down. You know how, it seems like every time we're getting on the road, like, traffic in the traffic. And we're always in a hurry. We, everybody pulls out in front of us. That's the universe telling you to slow down. Start slowing your nervous system down.
[00:26:56] alicia: And so if we start to slow down and start to be more mindful, noticing [00:27:00] you can take other practice to as to when you're eating your food or you're drinking your, your tea or coffee in the morning is to start to notice the flavors and just slow the process down. Start to slow conversations down. I talk really fast.
[00:27:13] alicia: I know people to slow down. I'm a fast mover. So I have to call myself back and really start to slow down. But when we start to slow down and start to notice things and our nervous system starts to come down, it's not a One in the next day, you're going to be fine. We have to do the baby steps at 1%, at 1 percent every day.
[00:27:32] alicia: And so your nervous system will start to slow down a little bit more. Then you're going to be able to, to come into. And I'm not telling people not to go into, try to meditate and try to work intuitively. You're still going to get those intuitive nudges. Everybody gets those. They just don't trust them.
[00:27:47] alicia: Yes. Trust those intuitive note, those intuitive nudges, but don't go into a big, like you're going to go quit your job because you have this intuition thing. Like don't tell people don't do, don't do big things until you can start to [00:28:00] trust it on the little things. And so that's really, to me, the best way to start to develop that, that intuition, that third eye that comes out,
[00:28:08] shilpa: you know, and again, going back to like, it's like the symphony of different elements together.
[00:28:15] shilpa: And we need to be cognizant that, um, we're. Mass. We need to become the masters of these elements, so to speak. So if it's the brain Understanding the connection if it's the body and the stress that it might be induced Or them an emotional heart level what is going on there, you know? Yeah, you're aware of the heart resonance and that in and of itself is scientifically now proven to affect our ability to perceive Information.
[00:28:47] shilpa: Oh, yeah. And then also it occurred to me while you were describing the latter part is, um, when you take those baby steps, it's, it's becoming evident that that [00:29:00] consistency is that loop that creates new neural pathways.
[00:29:04] alicia: Yes, absolutely. That's the only way to create them because again, our brain is trying to protect us and you do something way off of it.
[00:29:14] alicia: It's gonna be like, whoa, wait a minute. This is not where we, no, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, fear. No, scarce. Again, tiger's after us now. And so if we start to let it know that it's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. By the little baby steps. Imagine when you're trying to teach someone to ride a bike.
[00:29:36] alicia: So we're gonna give this child this bike and we're gonna say, go do it. And they're gonna be like, but I'm gonna fall, I'm gonna need this, I can't do this. But imagine you have a parent that steps the bike, puts the bike up, puts the child on the bike, and guides the bike, and then slowly starts to let go.
[00:29:53] alicia: What happens? They take off. And then they have the courage to do it. But if we just give the child a bike and say, go do it, [00:30:00] and it doesn't know how to do it. It's not going to, it's not going to learn to ride the bike. Maybe some kids will, but most kids are not going to do that. They're going to be, I don't know how this bike works.
[00:30:10] alicia: And I've seen other people give, my friend fell the other day and they bumped, bumped up there, bruised up their arms and their elbows. And I don't want that to be me. That's your, what your brain is telling you when you try to give it, suggest a new idea way too quickly, but without giving it the guidance to get there.
[00:30:26] shilpa: Yeah, absolutely. Um, there's so much like I said moments ago. There's so much at play here. No, just just take a few steps back because I was curious. How did You start on this journey You like meaning like when you talk about guides. I hear that a lot from people that are my guests and it It's a really refreshing thing to know that those that are more and more intuitively Um, [00:31:00] I would say evolved, so to speak, we all have it.
[00:31:03] shilpa: So it's not like we're right, but then they start trusting this concept of guides. Cause I keep hearing there's for lack of a better expression, there's a whole army of them waiting to help you and guide you. Right. And I would, I'm curious, like, how do you know? Like, what they are, who they are, um, I just, cause I hear it from different people.
[00:31:31] shilpa: You
[00:31:32] alicia: have, it's built, it could build a relationship with a person. They are to me, my, they have shown lots of different characteristics and personality to them. The right ones when I need them and I call them in, they will show up at the time. Sometimes I call in certain ones. So my first, I think my first introduction to my, I knew I had guides and spirit from talking to people and they like, oh, your guides are here.
[00:31:53] alicia: And I, people I trusted. It wasn't like somebody off the street and somebody I trusted that I had been working. With, um, [00:32:00] and I'll prep this back, I grew up in a super conservative religious background that absolutely would have demonized and witchcraft what I'm doing now. So, that's what I grew up in, and so, as, but as a child, I, I believe I had the, I don't recall, remember, some people are like, oh, always knew I talked to, I don't recall this because I've shoved so much stuff down because of, of trauma.
[00:32:21] alicia: So as I got into getting, then I got older, I realized I had this little stuffed animal called Rachel. And I didn't know in Rachel when I was two or three, but I named her Rachel. That's my guide. That's my spirit guide. She revealed her name is Rachel. I was like, are you kidding me? So that's what I'm saying.
[00:32:43] alicia: Like you build the relationship there. They've always been with you from the time you're born. Like they're, they're always guiding you. We have to enter, you have to have, you have, they're not going to interfere and just like, and talk to you. As you wouldn't walk up to just some stranger that doesn't believe you are and want to [00:33:00] talk to you, just imagine that, but once you say, Oh, okay, well, I'm, I'm open to, to learning more about this relationship and building this relationship and just setting to me.
[00:33:10] alicia: I did a meditation. I did it through a guided meditation of introducing. That wasn't when I met Rachel, I met her later on. So I met, I'll call him Joshua, he's like a little call him a little sprite guy who comes who just pops right in and I know when he's in I see the little bubble, I see him almost come in and I feel him on this side of my body.
[00:33:26] alicia: And so when he came I was like ooh, and it was like an immediate feeling because I was open to receiving, I was like, I want to meet who my guide is. I was like, I want I want to meet you, I want to know who you are. He came in, and so throughout the relationships of, you know, years going we've had conversations.
[00:33:42] alicia: And things, but I usually typically he's always there, but they don't, they don't just show their face to me. Maybe they just don't just come. I call, I call them in. So I'm not just sitting in meditation and all of a sudden they're just popping in trying to tell me stuff. I think we have to call them in.
[00:33:58] alicia: At least I do. So I have to [00:34:00] call that, call them in and wait for their guidance and that inner knowing. And so when I lost questions and sometimes I. Just won't feel I just feel so I'll call in additional guides. We have, like you said, a tribes and tribes of them out there. We have your ancestrals. If you have a past relative that passed away that you had a really deep connection with.
[00:34:21] alicia: They're watching over you. I know my granny as I talk, like, she comes in and she just comforts me. It's not a conversation we have. That, maybe that's a first step is you, if you have a deeper, somebody, it doesn't have to be your ancestor. It can be somebody you know that in this, in this life, that's passed away.
[00:34:38] alicia: There's just a precious soul to you. You guys have a soul connection. So call them in. And just listen for their presence. You don't get it the first time. Keep doing it. And now I do have some that come in that I don't want to do it. We'll stay on. I'm like, No, we're good. You go. Go on. I've had that happen before.
[00:34:57] alicia: So you have to be very cautious when you're calling and [00:35:00] call me and protect yourself at the very beginning with like an energetic bubble protection that nothing. That does not need to be, come to me. That is not, is not mine. Because their souls are still out there. They have jobs that they haven't finished off in their, their lifelines that they, they want to come in.
[00:35:15] alicia: And sometimes I've had, I've had them come in and say, Hey, I need you to do this for the certain person. I'm like, no, that's not my job. So you will have different spirits come in at times when you, you can say you may not, but you can. So just be very cautious of that, but just connect with that one. So I think we have certain ones that are assigned to us.
[00:35:34] alicia: Um, I probably have a lot more out there. I just haven't connected with them, but these two are like my two go to's so I call them in. I listen to them and I trust their advice. Get it? It's advice. It's not telling me how I have to do something or how I have to live. It's advice. Always keep it like, like a very trusted mentor or friend.
[00:35:53] alicia: Very respected that you would, you would take their, their trust. So I take, listen to their advice very, very heavily. [00:36:00] And so what I do will, I will include them on that. So when you start to call them in, get to know them a little bit. Talk to them about like, just ask questions, you know, not like, what's your favorite color type of thing, but just ask them, you know, they may not tell you their story, but at least have a name and their person, you get kind of a personality.
[00:36:17] alicia: Sometimes you'll be able to see what they look like. I haven't seen what mine look like exactly. Um, you know, in a spiritual world, but just start that relationship. Just start with one. And then when you start to build that relationship up, you can always ask them who else or who else would do I need to know at this particular time and moment?
[00:36:36] alicia: Because I don't think we need them all at the same time moment. Who could help me with this? I'm always saying archangels are always great too. Even if you're not Archangel, you know, I'm not Catholic or anything, I'm not. But I call in Archangel Michael at times, or Raphael, all the different ones, for whatever their purposes are connected to source.
[00:36:56] alicia: And so if you're, you can start working with Archangels, I call in my [00:37:00] shaman guides from my previous past lives to come in when I need them. Apparently I have a druid. Person out there to that over protecting me, and this is kind of came in through an energy session, and she gave me some really solid advice and guidance on stuff was very, very good.
[00:37:16] alicia: So if you get a guide, and they're telling you something that doesn't feel really good inside. And I'm not saying what you want to hear, but it doesn't feel good. Doesn't feel connected or aligned. It feels really bad. Cut that off quick. And search for the correct, the right ones. Um, I have my two guides that ask them to protect me daily.
[00:37:36] alicia: I'm like, protect me, through whatever I'm doing, protect my energy. Help me call back whatever I've given out that belongs back to me. Um, and help me, again, same thing, back and forth. So, they can, they're really good to help protect. And use them as protection, if that's anything else at the very beginning.
[00:37:54] alicia: Say, guide, in my guides, who you are. Um, protect me to the highest, best good that I need to today [00:38:00] to guide through my life.
[00:38:02] shilpa: That is lovely. Yes. I, and I totally agree. And this idea of what is protecting you, the entity or, um, spirit, I think it's interchangeable like guides, angel, if they're just, um, energy, so to speak, right.
[00:38:19] shilpa: But it can be in a name.
[00:38:22] alicia: Yeah. You call it, if you have a specific, like a call of Jesus or Buddha or whoever, like ascended masters, you know, I'll call them in. Um, and, and talk to you. Like, Jesus and I have a great relationship. I'm not a traditional Kurdish Christian or whatever, but I love, like, I'll call, call, call in and he'll get some really good, solid advice and feelings.
[00:38:39] alicia: And it's a lot of love that gets around that. So, you're gonna feel the love coming from you, coming from them. And so, that's what you really want to, to pay attention to. Sometimes you're not gonna get, sometimes you just need comfort. Just call, call them in and say, I need my guides to come and comfort me right now and just sit and feel comforted.
[00:38:59] alicia: It [00:39:00] takes practice, though. I mean, it's, you may pick up on it immediately and they'll come straight into you. Sounds like you're probably attuned enough to, but your average person's gonna have to take some, it'll take a little bit of practice and trusting. Because you're trusting something that you can't see with your own visual eyes all the time that's not humanly there.
[00:39:20] alicia: So it's a lot of trust in that relationship that you build.
[00:39:24] shilpa: Yeah, I do invoke my masters when I meditate every morning or evening. It's just part of the ritual week, but in terms of experiences, I've had very little or none. I think it's because either I've been blocked energetically from past trauma or a variety of things we've talked about.
[00:39:46] shilpa: It could be on a. Physical or emotional level, but also I'm like to the point where I'm just too overly Logical sometimes and which goes against the fact that I'm [00:40:00] deeply spiritual. Also, it's like Right. Well, it's speaking of which though a one thing I wanted to ask you because when I the fascinating elements of your body background.
[00:40:10] shilpa: So you have a bachelor's degree in metaphysical science. So you're like, like me, that you've got this very scientific background. You're serious, but yet you're very deeply what some people, not me, but some people might call
[00:40:25] alicia: spirituality. So the great thing about metaphysics is actually it's a study of spirituality study a science of spiritual spirit of your spirit.
[00:40:33] alicia: Um, so that was very fascinating. It's not a traditional degree. Like, if somebody goes and gets, you know, you go to college for four years, it's what aligned up with what I needed to build to do what I what I do. And I absolutely loved it. I love somebody actually going for my master's right now. Just need to write my dissertation on it.
[00:40:49] alicia: Um, but yes, it's. It's fantastic, and it takes a lot of the science back. I love, I love the fact that science, because I think science is so concrete. You saw that science [00:41:00] is concrete, right? Spirituality world is people think it's the woo portion of it, but it's your soul. So it's taking your mind and your soul and combining it together to make sense. Most people need some type of science or something logical to back it up, which I think is why there's science and logic behind a lot of this.
[00:41:17] alicia: And it's such beautiful things is coming out with like quantum physics. You know, you got Dr. Spence, all these people coming out that are tying all this stuff together. And like, this is a real deal. We can see the energetic fields through the science fields. I've been there for millions of years, but people haven't connected it.
[00:41:33] alicia: Until recently. And so if you're a logical person, it's not a bad thing. Logical people can be spiritual people too. And it's actually probably better because you're balancing the two. Because you don't want to believe every single thing that comes across. Because people like everything that metaphysically or whatever, you believe what you believe is truth.
[00:41:52] alicia: And in order to get to that truth, it comes from a logical standpoint. That's even better. Because you can back that up in your mind. [00:42:00]
[00:42:01] shilpa: Absolutely. And it's taken me my entire life of digging, digging, asking questions. And like you said, at the beginning, my podcast, I serve topics and guests that I truly believe align with my.
[00:42:15] shilpa: Values in my pod, but they also answer questions or have conversations that normally you you can't have with certain people I mean like I would not have met you but now I'm having the very Conversation that I want and I want my guests to hear because it will hopefully allow them to broaden their Or expand their consciousness of what is possible.
[00:42:39] alicia: Yeah. Absolutely. There's like, again, we go back to the logic portion. You have people who aren't going to expand, they're going to stay in that, that portion of their mind. And some people aren't even in the lodge. I don't know what they're in. They're not in the logic. They're not in there. They're just, they're basically like a robot.
[00:42:52] alicia: And you have lots of them out there. The great thing is, is the portals open, opening and opening and opening up [00:43:00] energetically for the spiritual portion to come back. And so if you sit down and you really think about who you are, people take. Well, I'm this and this and this. No, you're not. You're your soul.
[00:43:11] alicia: You're your spirit. And you can call it whatever you want to call it. You believe whatever you want to believe it. That's truly who you are. And you can't, nobody, nobody can, nobody can argue that when you really, really grasp the concept of what it is.
[00:43:24] shilpa: Yes,
[00:43:25] alicia: absolutely.
[00:43:26] shilpa: Well, this has been incredible. Yeah, I truly enjoyed it.
[00:43:30] shilpa: Our conversation, and I like the fact that you talk fast because I tend to talk fast. But my dad would say, just slow down, just slow down. But I, it's just my brain moves so fast. Yes,
[00:43:44] alicia: I just embrace that it's who I am. I try to slow down people need to slow down I'll slow down for them but that's who I am.
[00:43:50] alicia: I'm a fast, my brain's going all the time. I was trying to keep me survive in survival.
[00:43:57] shilpa: It's been a challenge for you. I mean, it's for me [00:44:00] when I try to slow down and practice certain techniques.
[00:44:04] alicia: That's how I got into meditation is because I have ADHD and I needed to learn different ways to, to combat that without taking a bunch of medication.
[00:44:13] alicia: And so meditation has helped me with that. I'm actually really good at being able to get into a zone. I can, if I can find one focus thing, I can focus on one thing. I can force my brain to do that now. Yeah, which is the great thing about meditation is you
[00:44:27] shilpa: do that. I had a guest, she's a reoccurring guest.
[00:44:31] shilpa: We talk about ADHD a lot and apparently there's a full spectrum and you can have overlap on the ADHD spectrum. And what my belief that it's not been tested, but I think I tend to go into that part of the spectrum where I overfocus.
[00:44:50] alicia: Yeah, I can do that at times. It's because you're like, forcing your brain, it's like, I got to, I have to focus.
[00:44:56] alicia: And so, yeah. If I don't focus, then I'm going [00:45:00] to be everywhere else.
[00:45:02] shilpa: Well, I hope to have you back. You mentioned or touched upon, um, quantum, um, theory or what did you call it? Quantum physics. Quantum physics. And that's something I've been talking a little more about with my guests. So if you're ever fascinated to go deeper into that, I'd love to have you back.
[00:45:20] shilpa: I will share what I know. It's not
[00:45:21] alicia: a whole lot, but I'm happy to share what I've learned. My experience with it, for sure.

[00:45:45] shilpa: Yes, I appreciate it so much. Thanks for having me on here. Oh, it
[00:45:48] alicia: was a pleasure.
