Share your Thoughts about this Episode
Have you ever just known something — before the logic, before the evidence, before you could explain it to anyone?
Most of us have felt that quiet certainty. And most of us have been taught to dismiss it.
In this episode, I walk you through what I've been learning this season by holding together the insights of three major voices: Vishen Lakhiani (The Code of the Extraordinary Mind), Rizwan Virk (Zen Entrepreneurship), and my meditation coach Sura (Sura Flow).
Each of them revealed something powerful. But it wasn't until I held all three together that I saw what none of them fully named.
The uncomfortable truth: Fear isn't just shaping your habits. It's silencing the clues. It's blocking the flow. And it's doing it so quietly, you might not even realize it's running the system.
This episode is about recognizing the pattern, learning to hear the clues despite the fear, and discovering that flow doesn't reveal itself in the noise — it reveals itself in the pause.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
✅ Brules (bullshit rules) — Most of the rules we live by were never consciously chosen. Seeing them isn't enough. Something deeper holds the door shut.
✅ Clues, not coincidences — Life is a treasure hunt, and the clues are already arriving through synchronicity, gut feelings, and hunches. But an energetic pattern drowns out the signal.
✅ Fear is the pattern — Not the dramatic "I'm afraid of failure" kind. The quiet, chronic, neurological kind that hums beneath everything and silences your intuition.

[00:00:00] Have you ever just known something before the logic, before the evidence, before you could explain it to anyone, even yourself,
[00:00:10] A quiet certainty that arrived without announcement. Maybe it was a decision that felt right in your body before your mind caught up. Maybe it was a moment where clarity just showed up uninvited, undeniable.
[00:00:26] Most of us have felt it,
[00:00:28] and most of us have been taught to dismiss it.
[00:00:31] Today I'm going to show you, why, and more importantly, what's exactly underneath that dismissal. Because it's not logic, it's not skepticism, it's something quieter, and it's been running the system this whole time.
[00:00:50] Before we begin, let everything else wait just for this moment.
[00:00:59] [00:01:00] Welcome to the Omni Mindfulness Podcast. I'm Shilpa, and this is where we pause before we build. So what we amplify is clear, intentional, and sustainable.
[00:01:14] This episode closes February, and if you've been with me this month, you know, we've been exploring alignment, what it actually means, why it fails, and what's quietly running beneath it all when it does
[00:01:32] today, we're bringing it together not as a recap, as a revelation.
[00:01:39] So let's step in.
[00:01:44] This season, I've been reflecting deeply on habits and alignment, and as I've been doing that inner work, I've been reading and rereading the works of three people whose insights kept surfacing[00:02:00]
[00:02:00] Vishen Lakhiani author of the Code of the Extraordinary Mind,
[00:02:05] Rizwan Virk I'm currently taking his class on simulation hypotheses and I've been reading his books, Zen Entrepreneur and Wisdom of a Yogi,
[00:02:17] and my meditation Coach Sura, whose book Sura Flow I've been revisiting with fresh eyes, each of them revealed something.
[00:02:28] But it wasn't until I held all three together that I saw what none of them fully named. So today I want to walk you through what I found.
[00:02:39] Let's begin with Vishen
[00:02:43] Vishen writes about something called Brules, bullshit rules, beliefs inherited from culture, family systems we never questioned.
[00:02:55] He says, see them release the ones that no longer [00:03:00] serve you.
[00:03:01] That's real. That matters, but here's where my reflection went deeper. Seeing the rules isn't enough. Even after you name them, even after you decide to let them go,
[00:03:16] something still holds something quieter than a rule.
[00:03:20] Something awareness alone can't dissolve.
[00:03:24] Vishen showed us the cage, but what's keeping the door shut? That's the question that kept surfacing
[00:03:35] Rizwan Virk in Zen entrepreneurship talks about something different. He doesn't just talk about the rules, he talks about clues.
[00:03:46] Life he says, is a treasure hunt, and the clues are already arriving through synchronicity, through gut feelings, through hunches, through moments where something just [00:04:00] clicks without explanation.
[00:04:02] Sound familiar?
[00:04:04] That quiet knowing we opened with the decision that felt right before you could explain it, the clarity that arrived uninvited.
[00:04:14] I think Virk would call those clues, and here's what he teaches. We can only receive them when we stop letting our energetic patterns run the show.
[00:04:28] The pattern, the default system we inherited, it drowns out the signal.
[00:04:34] It keeps us stuck in old loops where the clues keep arriving, unheard.
[00:04:43] His insight was clear. The pattern isn't something you think your way out of. You have to transcend it.
[00:04:51] But here's the gap
[00:04:53] he showed us the clues exist.
[00:04:56] He showed us the patterns, blocked [00:05:00] them,
[00:05:00] but what is that pattern and why is it so hard to release? That's what this episode is here to name.
[00:05:09] I come from a lineage where intuition isn't a concept, it's a practice, a daily returning to what's true beneath the noise.
[00:05:20] When I found Sura's work years before I trained with her, it spoke to that same truth, but in a way that felt accessible, modern, softer than the traditional pats I been walking.
[00:05:34] She created something called Sura Flow, a meditation practice built on three steps. Relaxation, heart listening and energy flow, not forcing the mind to be empty, not discipline for discipline's sake, but softening, quieting the nervous system, [00:06:00] creating the inner state where something deeper can arrive.
[00:06:04] She taught that alignment isn't something you chase. It's something that emerges when you stop overriding yourself.
[00:06:13] I was trained in the Vedic tradition, even initiated into Korea yoga,
[00:06:21] but I struggled with quieting the mind and managing anxiety,
[00:06:28] and that's when I realized something.
[00:06:31] For most of my life, I considered myself impulsive, not intuitive. The traditional practices taught me to cultivate intuition through stillness.
[00:06:43] But my intuition was already showing up as fast decisions. I didn't recognize it because it moved faster than I was taught to expect
[00:06:55] i'd move fast.
[00:06:57] Make decisions that felt right without [00:07:00] fully understanding why, and then
[00:07:02] judge myself for it,
[00:07:04] judge myself as impulsive because I couldn't quiet my mind the way I thought I was supposed to. But what if those weren't impulses at all? What if those were clues I was receiving faster than my mind could process?
[00:07:20] What if struggling to quiet the mind wasn't the real problem? What if the intuition was arriving faster than the stillness?
[00:07:28] I followed Sura's work for years, quietly. Curiously,
[00:07:35] and when I finally decided to sign up for her meditation coaching certification, I had sit with it really making sure the investment was right, but on some level it still felt impulsive
[00:07:51] because part of me was asking. What am I doing? Training to become a meditation coach? I already have a master's in computer [00:08:00] science.
[00:08:00] Shouldn't I just continue practicing user experience? Shouldn't I just play it safe?
[00:08:07] The program started the exact day the world went into lockdown
[00:08:13] then it stopped feeling impulsive.
[00:08:17] It felt like confirmation.
[00:08:21] So now we have three lenses.
[00:08:23] Vishen showed us the cage, the inherited rules we never questioned.
[00:08:30] Virk showed us the signal, the clues arriving when we transcend the pattern.
[00:08:38] Sura showed us the method, how to soften, listen and create the interstate,
[00:08:46] but here's what none of them fully named.
[00:08:50] What's blocking the state from arriving consistently? What keeps the door shut? What silences the [00:09:00] clues?
[00:09:00] Here's what's underneath the rules, underneath the pattern.
[00:09:07] Fear,
[00:09:09] not the dramatic kind, not the, I'm afraid of failure.
[00:09:13] The quiet, chronic neurological kind, the kind that hums beneath everything, the kind the nervous system inherited long before you were conscious enough to even question it.
[00:09:28] In January, we looked at how fear quietly shapes our habits. How we run systems on autopilot without ever asking if they still serve us
[00:09:40] this month, we're going one layer deeper.
[00:09:43] 'cause fear doesn't just shape our habits, it silences the clues.
[00:09:50] It's why you can be doing everything right, aligned on paper, optimizing showing up, and still feel off. [00:10:00] That's why clarity comes in flashes and then disappears. It's why intuition feels unreliable, not because it is because fear is drowning out the signal.
[00:10:16] Effort. Can't fix this. Discipline, can't override it. You cannot hustle your way through hearing something the nervous system is actively blocking.
[00:10:30] This is the uncomfortable truth. You haven't been failing at alignment. Fear has been quietly preventing it and silencing the very clues that we're trying to show you the way.
[00:10:45] So what happens when fear releases?
[00:10:49] Not through force, not through another strategy, through the nervous system. Finally feeling safe enough to let go.
[00:10:58] Alignment [00:11:00] creates the conditions for flow. But here's what I'm still learning. Sometimes you have to trust your way into alignment before the flow becomes something , you can actually feel
[00:11:14] you have to move toward the call before you see the confirmation.
[00:11:22] I felt called to do something bigger. I was drawn to people who went against the grain, who did things on their own terms. Who chose a different path, even when it didn't make logical sense,
[00:11:37] that pull, that was the clue,
[00:11:41] but I had to trust it before I could feel the flow it was leading me toward.
[00:11:48] And that's the uncomfortable part. Because trust feels like risk when fear is still in the room.
[00:11:58] I want to be honest with you, [00:12:00] my own struggle with this is real.
[00:12:02] All of this, everything I'm sharing with you today is a living lesson.
[00:12:08] I am not teaching from the other side of fear. I'm teaching from inside the practice of moving through it
[00:12:16] the pause helps the meditation, helps the practice of softening instead of forcing it all helps.
[00:12:24] but it doesn't mean. The fear disappears.
[00:12:28] It means I learned how to recognize it,
[00:12:31] how to slay it when it creeps back up.
[00:12:35] How to trust the clues even when fear tries to drown them out.
[00:12:41] And that's what I want you to know.
[00:12:43] You don't have to eliminate fear to access flow.
[00:12:47] You just have to create enough space through the pause to hear the clues
[00:12:52] despite the fear, because when you do, when fear finally loosens its grip even for a [00:13:00] moment, alignment returns. But alignment isn't the destination, it's the gateway.
[00:13:08] Because when fear stops running the signal. The clues don't just become possible. They become loud. Intuition stops feeling like a whisper and starts feeling like knowing decisions, stop feeling like battles and start feeling like clarity arriving on its own.
[00:13:28] This is flow,
[00:13:30] not the force kind, not the hustle your way there kind, but the kind that arrives when you stop overriding yourself and finally trust what you're hearing.
[00:13:42] Fear might still be in the room, but it doesn't get to run the show anymore. And here's what I've learned.
[00:13:51] Flow doesn't reveal itself in the noise. It reveals itself in the pause.
[00:13:58] The pause is where you [00:14:00] recognize intuition before logic dismisses it.
[00:14:04] The pause is where the clue arrives before fear can silence it.
[00:14:10] This is why we pause before we build,
[00:14:14] because flow, real flow lives there.
[00:14:20] That is what Vike was pointing at. The state where synchronicity stops being coincidence. starts being the system working as it was designed to.
[00:14:31] This is what Sura Flow was creating space for the softening that lets the signal through
[00:14:38] and here's what matters.
[00:14:40] This isn't just psychology. This isn't just mindset.
[00:14:45] What's actually happening when fear releases and intuition flows. That goes deeper into how consciousness itself works, into questions about reality, [00:15:00] about what's guiding us about why the clues arrive when they do.
[00:15:09] That's a conversation we're not finished with, but know this. What we uncover today is not the end of the thread. It's just the beginning. Because hearing the clues is one thing, trusting them is another, and that's where the real work begins.
[00:15:32] So here's what I invite you to carry with you.
[00:15:36] The next time you feel a clue, that quiet knowing, pause.
[00:15:43] I say this because the pause saved me. It's what helped me overcome anxiety when I tried to silence everything I knew to be true.
[00:15:53] The pause gave me space to slay the demons that told me [00:16:00] the clues were threats that told me to play it safe.
[00:16:05] That told me I was being impulsive when I was actually being intuitive
[00:16:11] and it can do the same for you. Just notice what it feels like. Notice where it lands in your body. Notice what happens when you let it be there without needing to explain it.
[00:16:28] That's where flow begins. In the pause.
[00:16:33] If this resonated, I want to share two things I created for exactly this kind of work. First pause with purpose. It started as a quiz. I designed not from textbooks or research, but from intuition. From patterns I kept seeing in my own journey and in the work I do with founders, it helps you understand your natural traits and archetype, not as [00:17:00] judgment, as information, because before you align, you have to know what you're really aligning from, what patterns you're carrying, what strengths you have already.
[00:17:15] You'll get a personalized score, and from there I share reflections, insights, and practices to help you go deeper. It's becoming a space for articles and tools you won't find anywhere else. It's not just pure science. It's born from the same intuition I've been talking about today.
[00:17:37] The kind that arrives when you pause. Long enough to listen. The link is in the show notes.
[00:17:45] And second, the founder's. Why Compass. Over the years I've been building frameworks from my own life lessons, not theories, not borrowed concepts, but patterns I've lived and tested. [00:18:00] One of those frameworks is what I call omni Pivot.
[00:18:04] It's born from my own awareness. Of the iterative cycles I kept seeing in my own growth and in the work I do with founders. It has three phases unveil, reflecting on our foundation, our root experience, what shaped us. Gaining awareness through practices like meditation, not just once, but daily. Becoming aware of our thoughts, our root beliefs, our fears.
[00:18:36] And our why Craft, designing our ideas, crafting our vision from that awareness and elevate, cultivating and practicing the courage to amplify our message to show up aligned. This framework is the foundation of everything I've built,
[00:18:59] including [00:19:00] the Founders Why Compass app. This is an app that I just recently created based on years of my experience in user experience design, product development, and mindfulness. The compass isn't just another productivity tool, it's a reflective space built on this philosophy. A place to pause before you plan to unveil your foundation, before you craft your strategy to align, before you elevate.
[00:19:27] To honor mind, heart, and somatic body, not just the to-do list. It's built on the same truth we just explored.
[00:19:37] Pause before you pivot.
[00:19:38] Align before you amplify
[00:19:41] again the links are in the show notes.
[00:19:43] You're not broken, you're not behind.
[00:19:46] The clues were never the problem.
[00:19:48] The noise was, and you can let it quiet.
[00:19:51] One pause at a time.
[00:19:57] Your pause is your compass.
