How the &%!# Do I Exercise With T1D?

Cait Macleod & Tracy Sanders Season 1 Episode 8

Ever had a shivery, horrible, scary low in the middle of a long walk, rugby match, or spring clean? Ever had a medical professional tell you exercise with type one diabetes is dangerous?

It's true, exercise can send you crashing or spiking. But mostly it's vital for your health and an absolute joy. Plus, it can turn your muscles into powerful insulin processing machines.

But how do we run, lift weights, ride a unicycle, pole dance, or swim in the sea without sending our blood sugar into chaos?

Fortunately, Tracy is the ideal person to answer that question. In this ep, she shares her experience as a diabetic adventure athlete and tells us what we need to do before, during and after exercise to keep our sugars cruising and our fun uninterrupted.
