Modern medicine has saved lives and extended our lifespan over the centuries. However, what can be done medicine does not respond to human suffering? How can we deal with pain and illness when it can’t be fixed? Watch this inspiring conversation with Dr. Dzung Vo, MD. He is a pediatrician specializing in Adolescent Medicine, and founding Director of the BC Children’s Hospital Centre for Mindfulness, in Vancouver.
Dr. Vo is the author of The Mindful Teen and co-developed with Dr. Jake Locke, the Mindful Awareness and Resilience for Adolescent (MARS-A). He also developed a Mindful Healing course for health care providers. He shares the challenges of the current overdose crisis and the vision for more mindfulness in medicine, as well as creating mindful hospitals.
