Speaker 1:I'm your host, life and health coach, jessica Castillo, and this is our special series for Catholic entrepreneurs. So far in this series, we have talked about why we're doing this series and why it matters so much. We've outlined the Manifesto for Thriving Catholic Entrepreneurs. This is the statement of what we believe and what we are striving for and then, in the third episode in this series, I've outlined the 18 steps for the step-by-step process, for what actions you can take as a Catholic entrepreneur to pretty much guarantee that you are burnout proof. So if you have not already listened to the first three episodes in this series, I highly recommend that you go back and listen to those episodes first, before you listen to today's episode, and, while you're at it, go ahead and get a copy of the Thriving Catholic Entrepreneurs Roadmap. This is the free printable resource that goes along with this podcast series, and you'll see written out everything that we've talked about so far in the series. It is just really handy to have this to refer back to as a guide so you can get it at a thrivingcatholiccom forward slash roadmap. Okay, so that brings us up to date for today's episode, which I am going to call the formula, because at this point, you know the steps to becoming a thriving, burnout-proof Catholic entrepreneur.
Speaker 1:But now what? What do you do now? Because it's one thing to know what you quote-unquote should be doing and in roughly what order, but it's another thing entirely to actually apply these principles to your life. So the question is how do you take action on what you've learned so far in this series so that you can radically transform the way that you approach not just your business, but your whole life? But your whole life. How can the thriving Catholic entrepreneur manifesto become your own battle cry? And what it really comes down to is having a system in place that makes it easy for you to develop these high impact habits of body, mind and soul. These are the habits that are going to enable you to be at your best, and when the system and these habits are in place, this is what's going to help you achieve that kind of lasting success that really matters to you.
Speaker 1:So what is this success? What is it that really matters? Well, I would say, for many Catholic entrepreneurs, this is a mission-driven business. This is a business that answers a much higher calling than just to make some money. This success, this lasting success, is close and loving relationships, which I've done episodes before about the importance of these strong relationships. At the end of your life, you are not going to care how much money you made if you sabotaged your relationship with your spouse and with your kids or you never had time for friendships. But, most importantly, the lasting success that we are talking about and that we are striving for is an ever deeper relationship with God, because, like I told you in the manifesto, anything less than holiness is failure, because, at the end of the day, either you are a saint or you are damned. Yeah, sure, you might have a pit stop in purgatory, but if you are not aiming for heaven, the chances of you even ending up in purgatory are really not that great. So what do we do? How can we actually put all of this together and make sure that we are really striving for this kind of success, the success that is really lasting, that's really important and that we all really want as thriving Catholic entrepreneurs?
Speaker 1:Well, I propose that there's a formula that we can follow that will actually help us put all of this into practice and that formula is high impact strategies and tactics. Some of them I outlined for you in the step-by-step process we talked about in last episode. So take these high impact strategies and tactics plus science-backed habit formation techniques. It is not rocket science, but it is science like how you form habits and how you could actually do the things that you know are good for you. Take these strategies and tactics plus science-backed habit formation techniques, plus authentically Catholic mindset coaching, because what trips most of us up is literally the space between our two ears. It is the thoughts we're telling ourselves, it is our own mindset and for any of you who have worked with a coach before, you know that the reason why coaching is so valuable is because a lot of times, it can help you get out of your own way or identify these limiting thoughts and beliefs that are holding you back from taking the action that you know is what you need to take to move you to the next level.
Speaker 1:So I propose that when we take these very targeted, high-impact strategies and tactics that are proven to make a difference and this is strategies of both body, mind, soul all of these strategies, because we know that there are certain practices of productivity that are going to really change the way you get stuff done. We know that there are certain strategies of how you care for your body that have a much bigger impact than others, right, so we want to focus. What are those high impact things? We know from reading the writings of the doctors of the church that there are particular prayer practices that are especially helpful for helping us grow in union with God and in our spiritual life. So there are high impact strategies and tactics and you know we see this all the time. If you look out into the secular world and you look into high performance coaching, what you'll see all the time are high performance coaches that are taking these principles of leadership, of productivity and even practices of health and wellness and applying them in their high performance coaching.
Speaker 1:For what? For a secular vision that is the bottom line is the most important thing? Or maybe having a lifestyle business where you get to have a yacht or live whatever kind of lifestyle you want, and I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with making money and there's nothing wrong with having a yacht if that's what's God's plan for you. What I am saying is, as Catholic entrepreneurs, our businesses are about more than that. Our businesses are about making the kind of impact and the kind of difference in the world that God has called us to make, and so all that other stuff is secondary.
Speaker 1:But the reason I bring this up is, if secular high performance coaches can draw so heavily on this stuff, where being at your best, performing at your peak, is so important, why should Catholic entrepreneurs not be doing the same thing, and more and even better? Because we know that the ultimate power in the universe, god Almighty, will be with us, helping us to perform even better if we draw on that source of strength as well, which is waiting for us. It's there for us. It is our heritage and our privilege as children of God to call on our Father to give us that grace and that strength. So if the secular world can use these strategies, why should we not appropriate them for ourselves and use them as well in a Christ-centered way? And I just I know that, as Catholics start to embrace these kind of habits, that it really will make an impact and it will have this huge ripple effect in the world. So high impact strategies and tactics. Take these strategies, take these tactics, combine them with the science of how we form habits.
Speaker 1:In recent years, so many books about habit formation the Power of a Habit, charles Duhigg, atomic Habits by James Clear, like all of these habit formation books have become so popular for a reason because people want to form habits. People know that once you form the habit, the habit eventually forms you right. This is what helps you to be successful. It's not what you do every now and again, it's what you do habitually and again. This is what we might call virtue Growth, and virtue isn't like an occasional, every now and again thing. This is something that you consistently apply effort to and that you're consistently improving in. But there's a science to it because our brains work in a very scientifically verifiable way. So when we take what we know about how we can actually form these habits easily and successfully and sustainably, then we're going to be two-thirds of the way there.
Speaker 1:Because, like I said, there's one other component of the formula and that is mindset coaching. Now, there's a lot of mindset coaching out there that is not authentically Catholic and it is very much focused on an ungodly self-reliance, or you know, just think and grow rich, or all of these really secular versions of mindset coaching that maybe the end result is that you develop the habits that you wanted to develop, but maybe the way that you're going about it isn't bringing you closer to Christ. Instead, it's causing you to rely even more on yourself, and that is really a recipe for failure because, again, like we talked about in the very first episode in this series, everything does not rely on you. And when you start thinking that it does, everything does not rely on you. And when you start thinking that it does, you are building your house on sand. You are not building on the rock of Jesus Christ and his truth.
Speaker 1:So I propose that when you have authentically Catholic mindset coaching that approaches the human person as how we understand the human person to be created in the image and likeness of God, this is a correct understanding of human anthropology. This is just the right viewing of reality. Honestly, this is the closest aligned vision to reality, and the more in alignment we are with reality, the better things go. So high impact strategies and tactics plus science-backed habit formation techniques plus authentically Catholic mindset coaching equals thriving. This is how you become a thriving Catholic entrepreneur. This is the formula that will take you from burned out, stretched thin and feeling as though you are struggling to make any progress to rapidly becoming the kind of person who can excel in every challenge you face.
Speaker 1:And this is exactly the system that I teach mission-driven Catholic entrepreneurs like you in my group coaching program, the Catholic Path to Excellence. This is a high-performance group coaching program like you have never experienced before, and that's because we focus on improving every aspect of the human person, from your physical health, your mindset and your productivity and, most importantly, your soul and your growth and holiness, and we're doing all of this in an authentically Catholic way. Every month we focus intently on another aspect of excellence in body, mind and soul. So every month there's that focus. It is, like I said, cohort-based, so you will be going through it with your peers and growing together, which I've found to be extremely helpful for me. So it's almost kind of like a mastermind for growth and excellence. That's what the Catholic path to excellence is all about.
Speaker 1:So all of the habits and steps and process that you have seen, that I've talked about in the 18 steps to becoming burnout proof, you might have even some of those steps you've been like okay, well, what do I actually do to optimize my gut health? Okay, what foods am I actually going to eat that are going to nourish me and help me perform at my best. Okay, how do I actually do these productivity principles? Or incorporate these prayer practices principles or incorporate these prayer practices? That is what I will be teaching you how to do in depth, and you'll be doing it with other Catholic entrepreneurs.
Speaker 1:Everyone is striving together. It is a really powerful experience, so I would love to invite you to join me in my group coaching program, the Catholic Path to Excellence. If you are serious about becoming the absolute best version of yourself, then the Catholic Path to Excellence is where you want to be.
