Join Mitch and Bart as we kick things off with a hilarious Dad Joke of the Day about the elusive “a weakened immune system." As college football fans, we can't help but dive into a spirited discussion about the Texas Longhorns and the Oregon Ducks. Who would come out on top by season’s end? Listen in to find out which team gets our vote!
Switching gears, we tackle the complex dynamics of Brianna “Chicken fry” and Zach Bryan’s relationship, particularly an incident at the Golden Globes. Zach's conservative views clash dramatically with Brianna's choice of attire, despite him not having seen it. Our chat takes a serious turn as we explore the troubling aspects of their relationship, from private criticisms to public praises on social media. We also touch on Zach's controlling behavior, like requiring NDAs from his partners, and what that means for personal relationships and public images. Finally, tune in for an eye-opening conversation about projecting personal image through the lens of relationships and becoming 1% better at loving our wives each day.

Speaker 2:if they haven't?
Speaker 1:they absolutely have to smash that like button.
Speaker 2:They have to smash that subscribe. Don't just click it, smash it thanks so much.
Speaker 1:We've got a lot of traction from our last couple interviews, the last couple episodes. Thank you guys, so much for listening.
Speaker 2:And sharing because clearly you're sharing. Yes, it's growing, love it.
Speaker 1:Please share many times, Many times. A thanks. Today we have a cool episode of all the good things, but one most important thing is the dad joke of the day.
Speaker 2:Dad joke of the day Dad joke of the day let's go All right, you ready?
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's more of a statement, but let me just explain it Okay.
Speaker 2:Clear the throat. I only seem to get sick on weekdays Isn't that crazy. It sounds Only on weekdays. Yeah, I must have a weekend. Immune system weekend. Yeah, so it's less of a yeah, like yeah weekend see like week W E a K.
Speaker 1:Do you get it? Yeah you get it, I get it. I must have a weekend. Yeah, immune system.
Speaker 2:There you go now it's not when you have to explain why it's funny, it's less funny it's absolutely funny. It's less funny okay I think you should have done that and just let it be. Weakened immune system get it yeah you don't even have to say get it, just say hey, you know what?
Speaker 1:it's not. I tend to get sick on weekdays funny.
Speaker 2:I tend to get sick on weekdays because I just have a weakened immune system and just let it be, you know? I mean like, just let, let trust the universe. I don't trust the listener dude. We've got some smart fucking listeners, some tough, smart, savvy people listening much all right.
Speaker 1:All right, I just want to set the stage.
Speaker 2:There's a few by the way, is your wife listening? No, that's a good one.
Speaker 1:So here's a, here's a funny joke, guys. So, or gals and gals, my wife claims that I send her episodes like hey, you need to listen to the podcast. You need to listen to the podcast, it's really funny, you'll enjoy it. She's like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, now, bear in mind if she does listen. I want to say she works very, very hard, she's constantly working, she's charting she's taking care of people really important things to do.
Speaker 2:All those things saving lives all those things, but but, if she's listening right now.
Speaker 1:Uh, I owe her, but I definitely, I can bet that she's not. I bet she's not.
Speaker 2:I want to go back to the episode where I talked about skiing and just I didn't mention that my wife is an excellent skier and her name is Val. She's an excellent skier and a roller skater, which is awesome.
Speaker 1:Really Not a roller blader, no Roller skater, roller skating every week, that's quite a statement.
Speaker 2:She goes to a ring.
Speaker 1:Does she really every week? Because her?
Speaker 2:rigging kills it Like literally tricks and like spins and all the things Like legit. But anyway, I left that out of my conversation with you when we were talking about skiing and I felt like there's a big opportunity there to mention my wife is an excellent skier. I dislocated my hip and shoulder and got a concussion at different times skiing, so I choose to avoid the topic when it comes up generally.
Speaker 1:Congrats, Val. I think that's awesome that you roller skate, because my wife has been trying to get me to roller skate at a roller rink and I'm just not into it, you're dangerous. You could knock somebody over and and do damage. Yeah, it's too much. Yeah, it's too much. Well, today we have a couple things that I want to talk to you about. First and foremost is our one minute of college football that I get to talk to bart, who is not a college football fan, every single week yeah, but I've come a long way.
Speaker 2:you've come around long way, do you?
Speaker 1:have any interesting facts about the Texas Longhorns Sure?
Speaker 2:Yours had a decent game, like you know no interceptions, five touchdowns, a whole bunch of stuff.
Speaker 1:He's back.
Speaker 2:And that's a big deal, because when he got injured he came back and it was kind of like he's always slow to start he seemed a little like caught up in the moment and a little bit shy and wasn't able to deliver in the big moments like the Georgia game. So this last game, obviously Florida not a great team.
Speaker 1:I mean, they were a 500 team.
Speaker 2:But they just annihilated them and we're just moving them back to third place. All we want is a playoff berth so that we can get to the finals and whoop on the Oregon Ducks.
Speaker 1:Hey, that would be the best college championship.
Speaker 2:If it was Texas-Oregon final.
Speaker 1:They don't have a chance, Texas in winning that game, so that's okay. If it was anybody else, I would say let's go.
Speaker 2:Texas.
Speaker 1:It's not going to happen. Oregon Ducks are number one.
Speaker 2:Only because they've gotten lucky and they haven't played anyone good.
Speaker 1:Lucky in the sense of everybody's saying oh, we'll see how you like the Big Ten now, and then we destroy Michigan, we destroy Michigan's game.
Speaker 2:First of all, Michigan wasn't good. We played them at the beginning of the season when everyone thought they were good, and then now they realize they're not good.
Speaker 1:Dude, I'm so sick of this conversation.
Speaker 2:They're not good.
Speaker 1:Everybody talks about how great Michigan's defense is.
Speaker 2:Who else did they play? That were actually good.
Speaker 1:Ohio State Number two they stole number two, which is ridiculous, because we're going to beat them again in whatever college football playoffs there are.
Speaker 2:But how about? And we're undefeated still, because it was a bye week, yeah, so that's good.
Speaker 1:How about those indiana hoosiers?
Speaker 2:I know that's the talk of the talk of the uh nfl football, right, ncaa? Yeah, yeah, we're talking about college football uh I know you're trying.
Speaker 1:I'm so thankful for you, bart Bart.
Speaker 2:The Indiana.
Speaker 1:Hoosiers, my Indiana Hoosiers. Now, to give anybody context for why I love the Hoosiers and I love the Ducks I moved around a lot when I was growing up but one of the main places I grew up was Eugene, Oregon, during my formidable time as an elementary student. So my first game I've ever been to was Utah State versus Oregon at the stadium. I'm an Oregon Duck fan.
Speaker 2:I graduated from Indiana University. This is how Mitch convinces himself that he's not fair weather Shut the fuck up. This is how, because he doesn't want to come across as a fair weather Oregon fan.
Speaker 1:Oh my goodness, I'm not a fair weather Oregon fan.
Speaker 2:You bet $150 that Oregon would win it all this year when they were nowhere. I mean what?
Speaker 1:was the odds? Yeah, they were nowhere. I mean, I'll probably be, I'm probably going to just take us on a private jet somewhere. When they win, all right.
Speaker 2:You and me.
Speaker 1:Not our wives.
Speaker 2:Not our wives, just you and me. How about her two sons?
Speaker 1:Yeah, that would be kind of fun too. Anyway, all that to say the Ducks are back, the Hoosiers are back, They've won 10 games. They're 10-0. They have never won 10 games in a season. They've never been undefeated this far in the season. It is all the things. And their coach, Kirk, is going to be coach of the year by far. Just amazing.
Speaker 2:And your minute's up. Coach Kirk is going to be coach of the year by far and your minutes up, damn, all right. Bart, I have a question for you, yeah.
Speaker 1:Tell me about the exercise of the week.
Speaker 2:What are some exercises that we?
Speaker 1:need to be doing this week.
Speaker 2:I think people do a good job at kind of generally understanding the push-pull legs kind of flow of like let's hit the pull muscle, let's hit the push muscles, leg muscles. I get that. But I think one pull movement that is often missed is the old-fashioned pullover and I think you know watching like Arnold in Pumping Iron, you probably saw him doing pullovers. Dorian Yates credits his massive back by the fact that he used a pullover machine to build his lats. But the pullover is a movement where you're taking generally take a dumbbell, lay it on the side of a bench and just arch and stretch and then pull it back over the top of your head.
Speaker 1:You can do that without a pull-up machine. You take a dumbbell, you're laying horizontal.
Speaker 2:Okay, so imagine the bench. Your body is laying shoulders perpendicular to the bench Got it. So your hips are a little bit lower than the bench. You have a dumbbell between your hands, much like a tricep press, and you go back with your arms generally straight, until you feel a big stretch in the chest and the lats and the serratus and you pull the weight back without straightening your arms. So it's not a tricep, you know exercise it's a without being flat.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a powerful movement.
Speaker 2:It really helps to like get just a lot of strength and size in the upper back and chest, yeah, and some people do it for a chest workout, some people actually do it for back. I I'd it in back day Really Especially as like the second or third exercise. So, like oftentimes, we'll do like a pull down and then a row, yeah, and then a pull over as like my third kind of power movement.
Speaker 2:And then I'll hit some more of the like accessory exercises like rear delts or face pulls or something like that, absolutely so, that's one, I think you know if you have shoulder stuff where going back behind your head is going to hurt your shoulder, then stay away from it.
Speaker 2:But if you don't have such a situation like that, go ahead and add it in, even two or three sets with a moderate weight, getting like 10 to 12 repetitions, nice and slow on the way back. Go for that deep stretch, exhale, use your rib cage, use your frame to pull the muscle back. You'll love it.
Speaker 1:That's awesome exercise of the week. Do it enjoy it, every single day, do it so a couple current events that I want to share with bart, that he probably isn't tuned into but there's election.
Speaker 2:No dang by the time this comes out.
Speaker 1:It's multiple weeks later, but I'm sorry Kamala lost I know it hurts.
Speaker 2:I know it hurts you.
Speaker 1:Moving on. The best part about current events is that Bart has no clue what's going on.
Speaker 2:I just shed one solitary tear for South Kamala and then moved on.
Speaker 1:It's okay, we all know you voted for Jill Stein. It's all right. So current events.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Right now there is a multiple diss tracks that are going on about Zach Bryan, the country music star sensation.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he was on Joe Rogan.
Speaker 1:Yes, he was on Joe Rogan. Well, he has been for the last year dating Brianna Chicken Fry that's her nickname on Barstool Sports.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Now they have a show called BFFs, which is a little bit more geared towards the Gen Zers. So any of our Gen Zers listening to know exactly what I'm talking about. Well, what happened was Brie and Zach broke up. Well, zach posted on his Instagram story that they had broken up before Brianna Brie knew they had broken up, yeah. So she goes to Instagram and says, hey news to me. Blah, blah, blah and then silent, right, yeah. And then it turns out Zach Bryan was on a dating app for celebrities called Raya. Never heard of it because.
Speaker 2:I'm not a celebrity.
Speaker 1:Anyway and I'm happily married, bart All that to say Zach Bryan's getting into this whole mix. Now, barstool Sports is owned and run by none other than Dave Portnoy, who is legendarily known as one of the biggest grudge holders in the world, where he has champagne bottles Dom Perignon with people's names on them. When they get canceled or fail, he pops the cork of that champagne to celebrate. That's how petty and awesome he is.
Speaker 2:So I love that petty and awesome go together in the midst of this Cause.
Speaker 1:I don't have the guts for any of this, by the way. So in the midst of all of this, they kind of go silent with Brie. And then there was an episode where Brie talked about the breakup and that breakup she started talking about how emotionally abusive Zach Bryan is, how narcissistic he is, which is normal stuff, Like he's a dude. He's a musician, I get it right. Not that emotional abuse is good, it's bad, but it's classic dude that is in that position Like he's super powerful, super rich on performing all the time. Define emotionally abusive in this position.
Speaker 2:Like he's super powerful, super rich on performing all the time, Define emotionally abusive. In this sense Great question. Where he would say Because I think sometimes that's a projection.
Speaker 1:Yes, there's a lot of stuff. There's a lot of stuff. So the one thing that Brianna talked about was the Golden Globes. She went to the Golden Globes Awards and she wore a dress. Personally, it's too much From my opinion, because I'm a conservative dude, the dress was too much, it was revealing. Revealing and kind of like. I didn't see any of these pictures but this is what she said.
Speaker 2:Your body started to tingle and you didn't like that. Stop it, stop it. You projected onto her no, I didn't even see the dress, stop your freaking mouth right now.
Speaker 1:I didn't even see the dress.
Speaker 2:I'm just going by what she said and zach texted her, called her and just yelled at her like this isn't the woman that I want. Like I want, right, a woman. You're not representing us. Well, yeah, he's too worried about his own reputation.
Speaker 1:Now it's like hey, this isn't the woman of my children, this isn't the wife of my children you know that's no, but like in the future. You know, stop it.
Speaker 2:I'm trying to explain emotional abuse this way, okay then yeah, he, he's projecting onto her like what yeah?
Speaker 1:hey, this isn't how I want to be. That's too much right. And then he posts a picture of her on his Instagram story and says look at my beautiful lady after.
Speaker 2:So wearing that outfit, yes, okay.
Speaker 1:So all that to say he does one thing and then tries to project it somewhere else.
Speaker 2:Cause he knows that people will see it in a positive way, cause she looks amazing. Yeah, yeah, all the things, but he's like beating her down. He's got the conservative, oh man look at my amazing girlfriend, whatever.
Speaker 1:So it's a real stuff like that. It honestly is like it's truly two-faced, yeah, so okay, whatever, here's the crazy part. Yeah, this is the current events part. He has had many relationships and he gets zach yeah and he gets them to sign ndas, so they can't talk about it. And he pays them whatever money. You can't talk about it and he pays them whatever money you can't talk about it. Right, it's NDA.
Speaker 2:So you got to know he's going to be a dick. Yes, he's a dick. Don't talk about anything that happened in a relationship.
Speaker 1:I have an image to uphold All those things.
