She wanted to be the kind of mom who can jump on the trampoline, run with her kids, and feel strong doing it and instead she was exhausted in minutes. Liz King joins me to share what happened when she finally decided to stop guessing, stop under-eating, and build real strength from the ground up, even as a busy homeschooling mom who had never stepped into a gym until age 35.

We talk about the messy middle: coming off keto, fearing carbs, and realizing that restriction was hurting her energy and mental health. Liz opens up about how food tracking felt overwhelming at first, why adding carbohydrates changed her workouts, and how consistent nutrition habits like meal prep supported fat loss and body recomposition without the burnout. If you have ever wondered whether you are under-fueling your training, her experience will hit home.

The biggest takeaway is not just physical progress, it is the mindset shift. Liz shares a turning point when she texted that she was quitting and we got on a quick Zoom instead. That moment became proof that accountability and belief can rewrite a lifelong pattern of starting strong and stopping early. By finishing the full program, she earned something deeper than a number on the scale: confidence, follow-through, and a new relationship with her body.

Welcome And Guest Introduction

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to the Noble Standard. I'm your host, Chase Williams, and today I'm joined by my amazing client, Liz King. I'm so excited to share her journey with you guys. She has been an absolute phenomenal, amazing, just kicking butt in the Chase Live Fitness program. But not only that, just to see her growth over the last couple of months, and I'm just so excited for her to share her side of the story, share what she's experienced and where she's at now and how this program has impacted her currently. So, Liz, thank you for being here today. Thank you, Chase. I'm excited to be here. I know, it's so good. It's so good. So we're gonna unpack some things. So, quick story. I kind

Moving To Florida And Why Strength

SPEAKER_01

of just want to hear a little bit about introduction from you. Tell tell everyone kind of what you guys do, where you guys are from, um, and a little quick little bio about you.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So I am currently living in Florida. We've moved down here from Pennsylvania in December of 2023. So I live in Florida with my husband and three boys. And I think my biggest thing for fitness, getting into the fitness thing, is I have three boys and I wanted to keep, I wanted to keep after. Like I want to be strong. I wanted to be able to play sports with the boys, you know. I wanted to jump on the trampoline, and I wasn't I wasn't feeling strong. Like I would jump on the trampoline for a few minutes and be exhausted. And like I knew something had to change. So then I think it was I want to say it was November that I reached out to you, Chase. And uh, I remember saying, I just want to be strong, I just want to feel strong. So I think that was like one of my and I did want to drop some pounds, but mostly I wanted to feel strong and like confident in my body, and Chase and Fitness has definitely helped me with that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So where do you guys so you guys homeschool and you guys have newly moved down to Florida? But when you guys did that transition, so before we even started working together, give me a little bit of rundown of what you were doing physically, you know, before you joined our program. What were some

First Gym Experience And Finding Coaching

SPEAKER_01

things you were doing?

SPEAKER_00

So believe it or not, of March of what 2025 was the first time I stepped into a gym. The first time in my life. I'm 35 years old, and it was the first time I stepped into a gym. And we were working with a coach, but it just didn't, I don't know, it wasn't the right fit. And like the more I kept going, I knew there was more. So I was, you know, scrolling on scrolling reels, and that's how I came across. That's how I came across Chase. And you were training for the uh the your competition, and I was like, you know what, this is a strong woman. I'm gonna go after her. That you know, like because that's what I was going for. I was going for like I wanted to feel strong. So I think that's what uh you doing the competition and you were pushing yourself forward, and that's what drew me to you. That's what drew me to, yeah. And then we started messaging, we were messaging probably for uh, I don't know, a month or so more. It was a little while till I said, Yep, I'm gonna do it. So here we are.

SPEAKER_01

Here we are. I love it. Well, and what's crazy, so what were you doing in the gym? So, like you were working with somebody, you were working with the trainer, were you doing one, two, three days a week? Like, kind of give me the rundown on what the training was like.

SPEAKER_00

I was doing two to three days a week. Okay, and we would go in the morning, my husband and I, and I don't know, it just sometimes it seemed we would just stand there and talk, you know, get a few reps in, and it just wasn't serious enough. Like we weren't pushing hard enough, and I wanted to push harder. So you're ready to roll. I love it. Yeah, I also remember Oh, go ahead. When I found you, Chase, like, do you remember how desperate I was for a change? I was so desperate. I was desperate. I don't have much knowledge and technology, and but I knew I had to step out somewhere. And the first time I did a zoom with you was the first time I ever did a zoom call in my life. And I was I was so nervous. I was so nervous, and it was just like I didn't know I could do it. But yeah, somehow I got it done. I don't know how. It was just little by little, you know, that got me there.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and

Amish Upbringing And Wanting Freedom

SPEAKER_01

I you know, growing up, um, you know, just with your background and being Amish and stepping into a news growth system and stepping into a gym for the first time ever, like at 35 years old. Why were you like what were you searching for?

SPEAKER_00

Well, so growing up, we weren't we had to stay in our own bubble. Like we we could not venture out. Like we were not allowed to go to the gym. So I think finally having that freedom and knowing I can do whatever I want to do. You know, I can finally I could go where I wanted to go. So like, and I was feeling pretty crappy like the few months before, like I was just, I don't know, mentally, physically, I was not where I wanted to be. And I knew in order to change that, I'm gonna need somebody to help me. Because you rarely get somewhere on your own, you know? You you you need somebody that's been there, you know, a little above you to help you through it. And yeah, that's where I'm so thankful for you, Chase. No, I I think what drew me to you is that I saw you pushing, I saw you reaching for more than you had. You know what I mean? And I knew you could probably help me because you were reaching for more, and that's what that's what uh that's what drew me to you is you were, you know, you weren't just sitting there coaching people, but you were being coached by somebody else and you were going higher. And and that's what that's honestly what drew me to you.

SPEAKER_01

So, what kind of things when you think about like leveling up or when you first started the program or even you know, kind of first those first couple of initial touch points, what were, you know, as you were thinking about leveling up and you were thinking about being, you know, challenging yourself, like what were some of the things you were envisioning for yourself like in those early days?

SPEAKER_00

So I think I was like envisioning being like the energy to feel strong. Like you don't understand how I felt. I I I didn't feel strong, like I would be exhausted even jumping on the trampoline, like running with the boys. And I was envisioning being a strong mother, being able to go out there, you know, and play with the boys, you know, go running without being exhausted. Just yeah, just feeling stronger. I've been through some pretty, pretty, pretty dark days mentally. So I had come off of uh doing keto and I under ate. Like I I some days I barely ate because I thought that's what's gonna get me. And it affected me mentally. It affected me mentally huge. So okay. I I'm gonna go back a little bit to my to my background when I when I go mentally. I had some trauma like when I was growing up. I had some trauma growing up, and I I feel like it it has followed me, you know, like mentally, things like mentally hard. So growing up, I never had somebody that believed in me. I didn't have that. Sorry. So mentally that's hard on a person. If you have like you have to, you're always on your own. You're always fighting through on your own. You never have somebody that believes in you or says you can get there.

The Quitting Text And Breakthrough Support

SPEAKER_00

So I remember, I don't know, was it a month or two when I called Chase and I said, I can't do this anymore. Or I texted you. I said, I'm done, I'm quitting. And you know that that was the story of my life. That was the story of my life. I would start something, and then when I didn't have enough of motivation on my own, I would quit. So I texted Chase and I said, I'm done. And I honestly figured I honestly didn't expect a response, much of a response. I said, I'm done, I'm quitting. This is too hard, I can't do it anymore. And I was gonna quit. That was it. And she texted me and she said, Hey, let's do a quick zoom. And I think if you could have seen, if you could have, if you would have seen my face, it was the first time in my life that somebody had said, You're not gonna give up. Chase called me, she said, You're not, you're gonna, you can do this. You're not gonna quit. And like, I I would never, I would never forget the feeling. I was like, you know what, I can do it. That's right, I can. Some but I would have quit. But Chase said, no, you're not quitting. And you know, for her, those words were just, you know, I'm not quitting free words, you know, that you say to probably a lot of clients. But to me, it was it was one of the first times I heard it. Because growing up, I didn't have people that believed in me. And when I wanted to quit, I just quit, you know, I didn't go on. And nobody said, you know, you can you can keep going, you got this. So, yes, that's a little bit of the mental side of, you know, a a a little tiny bit of the mental side of it. But I'm so glad I kept going because the six those six months that in the core program changed me mentally. How I looked at food, it changed how I felt, it changed like it made me believe that I can do this, you know. And I'm just just so grateful, just so grateful. I kept going, and that chase said you can do it. And she was there for me.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I will say when you um in the earlier days, like it's hard when you first start something and you're transitioning into doing new habits. And as you said, you came off of keto and coming off of you know, restrict, restrict, restrict. And we were transitioning the eating habits into a a new way of eating, into a new, you know, like to get one to get you to the goals that you wanted to achieve, right? Like a little bit of fat loss, a little bit of strength, like we were trying to like change the body composition. And when you got to that moment, I because it is hard. Being in a container where you're being stretched, being in a space where you're you're being pushed to do something new, and sometimes you hit a wall and you're like, oh my god, this is a lot. It's a lot, and you know, and I know you guys homeschool too, like there's a multiple different layers of things that you you lead and you run in your own life outside of the coaching container you were in. And when you hit that wall, I remember you being like, Yeah, I'm I'm done. Yeah, but I remember going back to when you just shared, like, hey, my goal was to push myself and to be stronger, my goal was to level up, my goal was to do the hard things. And I remember, you know, that was like what your initial plan and what your initial goal was. And from a coach's standpoint, the goal of a coach is to see the light in you and push you through those moments where you just want to throw out the zoom, because you zoom is annoying sometimes, right? Like you just want to be like, no, I'm not doing it. And but what is so amazing is to see is how you grew from being like, oh, I'm just starting to work out, like I'm not real sure about what I'm doing, or oh my gosh, you're making me eat carbs, to like I did freak out about carbs. Yeah, you did freak out about carbs, but to lean into trusting the process and leaning into stepping into a new version of you, stepping into just this elevated list. And it was a beautiful thing to not only coach, but also to just watch you like step into it, watch you just like push through the heart and watch you just you know take action week after week after week on vacations and traveling and road trips and and uh all of the things that kind of you know come in with leading a family, right? Like all of those pieces of the puzzle. So you know, when you think back to uh, you know, some of the things like when you were first starting, or maybe even those first couple of months, what are some things like what really got you scared? What were you nervous about and what were you kind of hesitant on? Like why did all of that kind of come up for you in the you know when you first started?

Food Tracking Fears And Carbs Return

SPEAKER_00

Food tracking was the hardest for me. I think that was when I said I I'm I'm quitting. I didn't, you know, I I I didn't want to. I don't know, I don't know why it was so hard because now it's easy. It's not even hard. It was just it was so new. It was so new, it was something I had never done. Like I had never tracked my food at all. And now I love it. And it's you know, the food tracking is still keeping me on track and the f and the the meal prepping, I'm still doing that. It it it stays with you. Like you do it for six months, and it's it don't just go away, you know, when you're done. So yeah, I think the food tracking was the hardest for me. Um, I love the videos of the working out. So the work the workouts weren't the workouts were not the hard part for me. It was my food. But I think that's also coming from, you know, having a bad relationship with food, so to say. You know, I didn't have a good relationship with food stepping into Chase Lin, which thankfully is much better. My food relationship has gotten much better. Tell me a little bit about some of the results that you've gotten in the core program. So I went down about 10 pounds, I think, but I gained the like I don't if there would be a way, I don't know. I should have tracked my my muscle because I like the difference I feel in strength-wise is like you cannot describe it. I can't describe it to somebody who has felt as weak as I did when I started. Like I can jump on the trampoline and not, you know, not feel lightheaded. Like I can go out and run with the boys. I can go I can run a mile, you know, and I couldn't do those things before I started strength training. And I also the big thing was I think the reason I wasn't feeling stronger is because I was way under eating in carbs. I barely ate any carbs. When I started eating carbs, I noticed a huge shift in my energy, especially when I worked out, like I had more more endurance, like I could I could work out more. So carbs was a carbs was a big thing for me. Like huge. I I bare like coming off of keto, I just you know, it's low carb, you barely eat any carbs. And I don't know how many times Chase told me carbs are carbs are good, carbs are good, and you know, it finally sunk in when I when I started feeling the difference, you know, in my in my strength from eating more eating more carbs. So that was a big one for me.

Finishing The Program And Mental Wins

SPEAKER_01

What are some mental shifts that you are really proud of? Okay, here we go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You you always get me with the mental thing because honestly, my whole life has been um do I want to say a mental battle, maybe? I feel like some people do struggle more mentally. Do you agree with me? Yes, no? Yeah. I I feel like yeah, so I have I have struggled like even as a little girl, like I would have, I don't know if it was anger outbursts or what what it was, like mentally. So when I like what it does to you mentally to accomplish something is huge. So for me to go through the core program and actually finish it was huge for my mental health. I actually finished, like I I went through the entire core program, you know, and it like it was a huge feeling of accomplishment for me mentally because I'm not used to finishing things. I'm not a finisher, you know. I start a lot of things, but I don't finish them. Oh now you are and now you're a finisher. That's what I'm saying. Like mentally, it like boosted me a lot because I actually finished something, and you know, I couldn't have without somebody there telling me I can do it. You know, so I'm just I'm just so grateful. I'm just so grateful for somebody that was there, and that was you, Chase. That you were there and you were telling me I can do it every step of the way. You know, I just knew you were there, and it was just huge for me mentally having somebody there for me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah,

What Helped Most In The Coaching

SPEAKER_01

what were some things that you know that you loved about the program? Maybe maybe more specifically about like how it was structured or maybe the challenges that were kind of brought to you to like pull out of you, you know what I mean? Like what were some things that you just in concerns to the coaching side or the program side? You mean as far as like the app itself? Any anything, anything that you experienced that you were like this, or even the structure of how we did things or some of the systems that we you've learned, just those kind of those kind of areas.

SPEAKER_00

I liked how consistent like you have calls that you can listen to if even if you don't make it live, you have so much there. You have recordings to listen to. I mean, if you want to know something, you just go back and you just you know, you you listen to something, and that's huge. That was huge for me. You need to have all that stuff, you know. If I needed something, even if it wasn't you, you know, like live or a zoom or whatever. I still had all those things I could go back to, and I really like that, you know, to have something, you know, to fall back on. And also I did really like our monthly Zooms. Like I love that. The one-on-ones, yeah. I love the one-on-ones, yeah. That would like that was that was basically what got me through. If there would have been no one-on-ones, like if there wouldn't have been you coming to me just like this, you know, face to face, I don't know if I would have finished it.

SPEAKER_01

So I guess that was it's easy to hide, it's easy to hide sometimes, right? Like just to be like, Oh, it's fine, everything's fine. Everything's fine, yeah, everything's fine. So, but you know, and that's why you know, I have parts of that, like you have to have a little of both all the things, you know. And and I think you also, too, like you kind of shared a second ago about just have like leaning in and stepping in and being able to still take action even when you couldn't be there live and yeah, doing all those things, yeah. So if

Advice For Beginners Who Feel Overwhelmed

SPEAKER_01

anyone was considering maybe getting getting some coaching support, what would be some advice that you would give?

SPEAKER_00

For me personally, it would be how much you were there for me. Like, whenever I needed you, you were there. And like I knew it's not AI coming for me, you know. And I think, you know, and you were you were just there, like, and I knew it was you texting, you know, like way back when we started. I was so used to uh, you know, you text somebody, you reach out, and you you actually in the beginning, like you reached out to me personally, I think after I messaged you or something, you know, and you were asking about my family, and you were asking about you know personal things, and that's what you know, I like that, you know, like you cared about me as a person. You know, you weren't just there to push another client through the programming, you were there for the person. And I I love that. You know, you were just you were cheering for me all the time, and yeah, I'm just so grateful. Love it.

SPEAKER_01

What ca uh if you could kind of just share a quick little tip for someone that was maybe listening, what would you share with them?

SPEAKER_00

You mean about like fitness or just anything like whatever?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, maybe they're maybe they're yeah, maybe they're nervous about joining a program, maybe they're nervous about starting something, maybe they're this would be okay, like speaking to somebody that would be hesitant about joining.

SPEAKER_00

Sure, yeah. Okay. What do they need to hear from you? Well, I'm an overthinker, you know. I I overthink things, but one thing I would say about Chase, if you're if you're wanting to join her, is like she takes a lot, you take a lot off of us because you have everything there for us. You make it so easy, like the app, like our food tracking, like you take a lot off of your clients mentally, I think. So that would, you know, if you're if you're wanting to join a a program that you know, it's not that easy, but it's doable. It's your program is is it's hard, but it's so doable because you're there and you're like, if if we need something, there's there's whatever we need, it would whatever I needed, it was there for me. So yeah, if you're a beginner, you you definitely need chase in your life. Yeah, you know, me coming, like I don't think people understand quite where I was, like having no knowledge in technology, you know, but somehow I did it. Somehow, like you would send me the link and I would click on the link and it didn't always work, but we got there, you know. So, like, if somebody doesn't have you know, isn't very smart or techie or something, you know, you can which I feel like I feel like I'm probably the only person in the world anymore. I mean, considering, you know, the Amish aren't, but like I feel like I'm so behind with like technology, like maybe other people are probably just a lot smarter than I am with with this kind of thing. So maybe maybe that wasn't even helpful at all. But yeah, you were you were definitely you definitely made it easy for me. Like you were just there, like I could text you and I knew you were gonna respond, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I love how you mentioned the overwhelming component, like how it's so over like things can be so overwhelming, but you mentioned everything was much simplified, it was very like structurally put in place so that you could execute. Yes. That was a great way of of wording it and putting it. So absolutely love

Gratitude And Closing

SPEAKER_01

this. Like, I'm so glad we got to like hear your side of the story and you know that you were open to sharing your experience here. But I just from being your coach, like it was an it's an honor to be your coach, but it's also an honor to like walk alongside of you and to see the growth that you personally have got to do and experience and and not even just in like workouts, right? Like it's not even just in like the things that you accomplished in the program, but to just to see you change and grow as a human and as a a woman of faith. Like, I absolutely an honor to get to be a part of that journey. So I'm proud of you.

SPEAKER_00

You were a big part of it. You were definitely a big, big part of my journey. Like, I don't know if you un I don't know if you realize quite how much like you helped me get one step, one step higher, but you did. You did, and I'm just I'm just so grateful for you, Chase. Well, thank you for for being here today and sharing your story. Yep, thanks to you.
