Shamin Brown, Director and lead therapist of Shamin Brown Consulting, is a social worker, therapist, and certified life and health coach specializing in trauma-informed art therapy and brainspotting.Shamin is also an author. With 20+ years of experience, she supports individuals, particularly females, in building self-esteem, balance, and self-love through trauma-informed, solution-focused, and person-centered approaches.

 Shamin has been part of the anti-trafficking movement for over two decades, advocating for justice-involved youth and sexually exploited women, developing government training programs, and delivering trauma-informed peer support training. As the first Canadian chairperson of the G100 Anti-Human Trafficking Wing, Shamin promotes creating supportive environments and gender equality and for vulnerable individuals.

Danielle Churly, Canadian Lived Experience Advocate (Canada)

Danielle Churly is a survivor advocate with nearly a decade of experience in Anti-Human Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence. Drawing from her experiences with child abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, Danielle combines personal insights, education in social service work, and professional experience to address systemic issues.An aspiring poet, she uses poetry to amplify survivor voices and inspire healing.

Passionate about trauma recovery and ethical survivor engagement, Danielle emphasizes the risks of re-exploitation without proper support. She is completing her studies in social service work and plans to pursue university education.

For nearly a decade, Danielle has served in anti-trafficking intiatetives with organizations like the Women's Support Network of York Region.

Danielle’s experience includes roles as a residential support advocate and volunteer coordinator at a safe house for trafficking survivors.

Dr Celia Williamson, Executive Director of the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute (USA)

 Dr. Celia Williamson is a Distinguished Professor of Social Work and Executive Director of the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute, as well as researcher and community advocate who seeks to combat domestic human trafficking and prostitution. She has published numerous articles, books, and reports. She founded the first anti-trafficking program in Ohio in 1993 and directly worked with victims in Toledo for several years. 

Dr. Williamson co-hosts the oldest and largest annual academic conference on human trafficking in the world. She founded the first anti-trafficking coalition in her county. Named one of the top 30 most influential social workers alive, she has the 14th most influential social worker in the nation within the last 10 years and ranks among the top 100 globally and historically.

Dr. Lauren Casey possesses over two decades of experience collaborating with regional, national, and international organizations dedicated to mitigating health disparities among sex workers. 

As a preeminent authority on the North American sex industry, she has contributed extensively to scholarly literature, including publications with Springer Publishing, Routledge International, University of Toronto Press, and leading journals such as the Journal of Addiction Research and Therapy and Qualitative Health Research. Dr. Casey has delivered over 100 presentations globally, encompassing academic and professional forums, where she integrates her empirical research with personal insights from her experience in the sex industry.

Juanita van Heerden, Human Trafficking Consultant (South Africa)

Juanita is a dedicated advocate for human trafficking survivors, with over 11 years of experience in survivor care. She formerly served as the Executive Director of S-CAPE, a safe house for trafficked women and their children in Cape Town, South Africa.

Currently, Juanita works as a consultant, equipping organizations to establish and strengthen survivor support programs. She brings lived experience of addiction and sexualized violence, which has shaped her deep passion for holistic healing and trauma-informed care. She is in her third year of psychology studies and works closely with Not I But We, a social enterprise empowering survivors of sex trafficking.

Committed to collaboration over reinvention, Juanita supports organizations in building sustainable, impactful, and lasting systems of care for survivors of trafficking.

Jumorrow Poitier, American Founder of SheMeHer Inc (USA)

Co-author of Amazon’s #1 bestselling book “Sister2Sister Untold Stories” and founder/CEO of SheMeHer Inc., Jumorrow  is also the Director of Community Outreach & Anti-Human Trafficking Coordinator for the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit, working in the sexual battery and child abuse unit. She specializes in supporting survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and child exploitation. Jumorrow is President of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition and served on NSU's CREATE Program Advisory Board.

Leah McSpadden, the founder of Voice for the Silent, is a survivor, advocate, and aspiring human rights prosecutor dedicated to ending human trafficking and empowering others to reclaim their voices. 


Her vision for Voice for the Silent is rooted in her belief that every survivor deserves to be heard and supported. Through education, mentorship, and advocacy, Leah aims to dismantle the systems that allow trafficking to persist and inspire a global movement to eradicate this crime.

She intends to use her legal expertise to advocate for survivors within the justice system and create mentorship programs for youth.  Leah is committed to amplifying the voices of those who need support in fighting for systemic change to ensure a safer, more just society.

Livia Miraglia, Brazilian Researcher & Advocate (Brazil)

 Livia Miraglia is a distinguished human rights lawyer with 19 years of experience advocating for justice and equality.  With a deep commitment to fighting human trafficking, Livia has spent the last 10 years as a director of the Human Trafficking Clinic at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil.

She is also a respected labor law professor, having taught for 17 years, shaping the next generation of legal minds.  Livia's extensive work spans both legal practice and education, and her expertise in human trafficking has made her a leading voice in the global fight against this issue.

Michelle Faye, Australian Lived Experience Coach & Federal Candidate (Australia)

Michelle Faye is a lived experience mentor and advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. She empowers women, navigating complex systems and fighting for meaningful change in domestic violence reform. She provides holistic support to women on their recovery journeys, offering peer support to help them navigate mental health, physical health, legal issues, and relationship problems, among other challenges. Michelle works alongside them, offering guidance and accountability to ensure positive outcomes that lead to successful, sustainable futures.
Michelle is running as an independent candidate for the federal seat of McPherson on the Gold Coast of Australia in the 2025 election. Her campaign focuses on real reform, with a true focus on community and listening to the voices of the people.

Sandy Skelaney, Canadian COO of Parasol Cooperative Inc. (USA)

 Sandy Skelaney is a public sector leader, distinguished educator, and TEDx speaker with over 20 years experience building and leading victim services programs and multidisciplinary responses to human trafficking. 

An early anti trafficking pioneer, Sandy developed a deep understanding of technology's role in both the exploitation and protection of survivors. And a passion for working in the emerging tech policy and innovation space  as the Paracel Cooperative's chief operating officer and head of partnerships.

 Sandy has shared her experience with tens of thousands,  leading workshops and giving talks on topics ranging from trauma informed care and sex trafficking.  To digital safety planning,  emerging technology and blockchain legislation  in her free time, she is completing her doctorate in Florida International University's public affairs program, researching blockchain policy, governance and AI ethics.
