Former professional cricketer Andrew "Patto" Patterson had a career most athletes dream of, playing for Ireland, Sussex, and Bedfordshire. But in 2013, everything changed when he was diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) - a condition that threatened to confine him to a wheelchair for life.

Instead of accepting his fate, Patto took on the ultimate challenge. From major spinal surgery in the USA (where two-thirds of his nerves were severed!) to gruelling rehab and an incredible 5K walk in May 2024.

Now a motivational speaker, Patto shares his raw, honest, and often humorous take on resilience, mindset, and adapting when life throws the unexpected at you. In this episode, we dive into:

✅ The moment he knew something wasn’t right
✅ The brutal reality of living with HSP
✅ His decision to risk everything for a chance to walk again
✅ Why resilience isn’t just about bouncing back - it’s about coming back stronger
✅ The life lessons he now shares as a speaker

Patto’s story is proof that when life changes, you can change with it - on your own terms.
