The season is loud, the lists are long, and somehow butter still ends up on the floor. We invited you into our real world—coffee cups, thrift-store treasures, delivery drama—and then opened the door to the moment that changed our year: a hopeful cardiology checkup for our son. After months of charts and worry, his heart is functioning like a typical kid’s, the inflammation is gone, and we were able to drop two medications. The relief rang through our family like a bell. That kind of news reshapes everything, from how we plan the next appointment to how we savor an ordinary Tuesday.

Between the hospital hallways and holiday lights, we’re building our little brand brick by brick. We talk candidly about marathon vendor events, four-hour merch setups, and the tag-team rhythm that keeps us afloat—one of us in the weeds of product pages, the other swimming in labels and boxes. Black Friday stretched us, but meeting people who wear our work filled us back up. Along the way, we laugh about our bowl obsession and the thrift finds that spark joy because tiny delights matter when life feels heavy.

Parenting brought new terrain this year: a ten-year-old’s friend drama, big feelings over tiny texts, and the art of cooling off before we say too much. That’s where faith steadies the ship. Morning prayer, Scripture in a quiet kitchen, and naming seasonal depression out loud helps us trade panic for presence. We talk vitamin D, staying on meds, and resisting isolation, because mental health deserves the same care we give to holiday plans. If you’re juggling deliveries, deadlines, and small hearts under your roof, pull up a chair. We’re choosing peace over perfection, tiny rituals over big promises, and a home that heals the people in it.

If this episode brought you comfort or a smile, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a lift, and leave a quick review to help more folks find our little corner of hope.

Warm Welcome And Bowl Banter

SPEAKER_04

I'm kind of unofficially, but collecting like bowls. Like ever since I got about that green bowl. The green one, he's like, You needed another bowl. I'm like, yeah, but I didn't have one that had high sides on it. This is a salad bowl. Yeah. You know? And even my kids now, like, mama, another bowl. I'm like, I didn't have one like this though.

SPEAKER_04

But, you know, don't wait, don't be like me and wait too long.

SPEAKER_01

Probably should leave them a little treat treat outside too. You're right. You know. Yeah. If you see them coming up, a little debie. A little Debbie pie, or maybe like keep a little stash of something, coffee or energy drinks in your house for them. Wouldn't that be nice if you went to drop off something and somebody came out with an Alani?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, maybe I should do that for FedEx because they always leave in my package at the door of my garage where I could run over it.

Sponsor: Hal The Cajun Lady Accent

They left it in front of the past in front. They were scared of the spider web. Now they could have come around and put it on the side, but the spider really tripped to the book, and that was it. Threw it on the on the sidewalk and ran off. Anyway. Anyway. Thank you, How the Cajun Lady Accent. What a great segue.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You know, I've seen her make a king cake with crescent roll dough before. I've seen her, she makes all kind of stuff. So not just things that take a long time. Right. But like she showed us how to drip coffee. Yes. Remember whenever she came to the house and bought us each a pot? Yes. Showed us how to drip coffee, and everybody loves our drip coffee pots, but she just, I mean, her, she's got a heart of gold and the girl knows how to cook. Yep. Okay.

Life Updates And Brother Boy’s Diagnosis

SPEAKER_04

A thing or two. Okay. Okay, so today we're gonna talk about like what's happening in our life right now. Just a little current, like up to date, what what's going on? And um, I know you have a little update you want to share on Brother Boy.

SPEAKER_01

So have an update on Brother Boy. Okay, if you don't know, my son um was diagnosed with um left ventricular noncompaction, which is uh the left part of his heart, the ventricle has like these projections that it doesn't let the um the fluids and blood and all the things that flow. Um the muscle was struggling when he was born.

SPEAKER_04

It was like spongy, they said, or something, not instead of like hard muscle tissue.

A Year Later: Meds Reduced And Relief

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it was spongy and inflamed, and there's nothing, there's no surgery that helps it. It's just um kind of like uh you have to he has to be on medication and you just have to kind of wait and see. Monitor it in the first year. You have to monitor it and see how it does. He has no symptoms whatsoever. You would never be able to tell that my son has this, so we had all my other kids tested. But the only way to completely fix it is uh a heart transplant. So we're not there at all. But we went to his annual appointment, which he goes to the doctor every three months. So, but the he he had his for one-year annual appointment in New New Orleans with a specialist. New York. In New Orleans with a specialist, and she said that his uh his heart's been functioning as a normal person, uh, it's no longer inflamed, and we were able to remove him two medications out of the lineup routine because when I leave, uh-huh, he's got a chart. Yeah. And you have to check it off in the morning and at night. Yeah. Because it'll be easy to forget. So um, and everybody knows everybody knows brother's medicine, brother boy's medicine. So now we're just on three, and it's kind of it's a relief to hear that um, you know, everything's going well, and he's gonna be fine for as long as he's gonna be fine, and we just take it day by day. We take it appointment by appointment. But other than that, that's that's not a good update. Yes, it's all going in the right direction. Like, oh, yes. And I mean, and it could change, you know, at any time, but for right now, we're in this just kind of blissful stage because the appointment that we got last year when we he was first diagnosed to the appointment this year, it was like night and day. We left devastated and we had no idea. And scared and scared, and like our whole entire family was like, What are you talking about? You know, and so this appointment when we called my mother-in-law, she just like broke down because she was just waiting for us to call her with bad news, and not with bad news, just with any news because it was just she was on pins and needles just waiting. She was on pins and needles, and it was just like a relief. You could just we were like, Are you okay? Are you okay? She was like, Yes, I was just waiting. And so everybody is kind of just in this joyous stage of like, okay, everything's okay, everything's normal. And and we've been praying a lot, uh, the intercession of Charlene and uh Father Manny. Yeah, we went to that mass at f with Father Manny a healing mass, and uh that was just so remarkable. So update on brother boy, he's good. He's good.

SPEAKER_04

He's good, thank you.

Seasonal Stress And Growing The Brand

SPEAKER_01

Thank you for the many prayers and um and and thoughts.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, awesome. Oh, I feel like at this season, not just for us, but like this time of year, it's it's it's hard. It could be hard, like it could be stressful. There's so much going on, there's so much to be seen about. Um I mean, I know for us personally, we have a lot of irons in the fire. We usually always do, but it just feels like right now even more. I don't know. We blazing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We better catch on fire.

SPEAKER_04

Burning the candle at both ends, as my mama would say.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's been busy. We've been um we we love to help others um with their businesses. So if a promo comes along and you know, people are like, oh, I need you to do this. We did a lot of Black Friday stuff, you know, it's just the season where you really want to get your name out, and so we want to help as many people as we can. And that's so we've been busy doing that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um we put we've been doing a lot of in in-person events lately, which those are so fun.

SPEAKER_04

I do enjoy it. I once we are there and we're set up, it's so much fun, and I love doing them. But this the pre and the post, I'm like exhausted. Like, I don't see how there are people that do this all the time. Like, I mean, how goes all over the place, and there are other creators that every weekend they're somewhere else. They don't have maybe they they not they don't have young kids like we do. Like we just we do as much as we can without neglecting our families, right? You know, um, but we've been doing that a lot more in these past couple months, and I feel like that also has taken a little, a little to look how big your eyes are right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Well, it was whenever we did Bells in Buggy Town, and we got there with our boxes and boxes of stuff. And then we go and we go to set it up like it's gonna be no big deal, and it took us four hours. It took us four hours to set up all the merch. And so, see, and my husband even said that. He said, from last year to this year, it's completely humbling. Like how much it has grown. I'm so proud of y'all. Y'all built this this yeah, brand and whatever this is, and it's just like whatever again. Yeah, uh, yeah, it's it's kind of a big deal, but it and it takes a lot of time and energy, and it's just but y'all, we would we wouldn't have it any other way.

SPEAKER_04

No, I mean I would be sad if we didn't have all that, you know. So it's it's uh busy and blessed, is what we say. Busy and blessed, yeah, blizzy and blessed, you know what I'm trying to say, and delirious, and a little delirious along the way.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah, but I'm happy. I'm happy to do that for you to keep laughing and for you to keep laughing. We like to. Vice versa.

SPEAKER_04

You know, if this like fizzled out, I still don't think we would stop doing stupid things together. You know what I mean? Like if this wasn't we don't we don't do silly things to content create, we do silly things and content create because it's like we'd still be going to uh thrifting. We'd still be going thrifting, we'd still be having coffee visits and doing our limelight thing together. It's just now we just record it for other people to see.

Thrifting Joy And Collecting Bowls

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we just take you along for the ride, whether you like it or not. And if you like it, I'm guessing you following. Yeah, guessing. You know, you're probably subscribed and you you following on all the things. But yeah, yeah, I mean, we just have a good time, you know? And truly and honestly, we just go to these places and we just are like we laugh at things, and y'all, it's the stuff y'all don't see. It's the stuff you don't see. It's the times we go by ourselves to a store, and we we actually went to the same exact uh thrift store one time, just like weeks apart. And I had saved in my phone, I found all the bobble heads of NSYNC or all the NSYNC Barbie dials. Dolls, yeah. And I sent it to her and she was like, Oh my god, I just went to that place. I just saw it. Yeah. So it it it continues even though you don't see it. Yeah. So, but yeah, I mean, we always we always looking for time to go thrifting, and we don't always get to do that. No, you know, we gotta squeeze it in.

SPEAKER_04

That's our uh that's our me time. Yeah, our happy time, our happy hobby. And my husband's like, every time I come home with something, where are you gonna put that? I'm like, um, I'm gonna find room, you know? Like, it's like now I'm I'm kind of unofficially, but collecting like bowls, like ever since I got about that green. The green one, he's like, You needed another bowl. I'm like, yeah, but I didn't have one that had high sides on it. This is a salad bowl. Yeah, you know, and even my kids now, like mama, another bowl. I'm like, I didn't have one like this though. And it go, it went so well with my big orange one, like the colors, yeah. That uh pistachio green.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so perfect.

SPEAKER_04

So perfect. It needed a friend, you know.

SPEAKER_01

It absolutely needed a friend. I think you ought to have like a little photo shoot with them both together.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you know, yeah, wouldn't that be cute? With me too in it, yes.

SPEAKER_04

I should we should have we should pose with our old things, like and have an old photo shoot. I don't know why. There would be no purpose other than our our enjoyment.

SPEAKER_01

You ready for that, Tyson? Okay, he's he's gonna do it for us.

SPEAKER_04

He's gonna take pictures of us. Okay, all good. All right, so what else is going on with us?

SPEAKER_01

Man, I just feel like everything. What about the kids? How are your kids?

SPEAKER_04

My kids are good. I uh I mean I really can't complain. Like my my oldest um is gonna be she's 10 and uh my youngest is about to be eight and um the 10-year-old is starting to have like uh social d dilemmas and things, you know, like little girl things that are like she didn't she she didn't talk to me or she was mean to me, or like she looked at me like she didn't like me, and I'm like starting. Yeah, the social things are starting. That's miserable, miserable, and I'm just like maybe she was having a bad day, you know, like don't overthink it.

SPEAKER_01

But as a kid, you do overthink it, and as a girl, you overthink it. As me, I overthink it. When you send me a text that's like sure. Or K.

SPEAKER_04

I'll send you K. You hate it when I send you K.

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh. Do not send me K.

SPEAKER_04

I need to send you the exact thoughts in my head so that you know what I'm thinking.

SPEAKER_01

Even if it's not if even if it's not nice, I'd rather you be up front and say, You really making me mad right now, then I'll just get a K and I'm like, oh my god, am I making her mad right now?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I'll try to think about I'll try to honor that. But Oh God, that makes me really nervous. No, no, no, no. I mean, how many times do I really ever get mad at you? I don't know. Sometimes I'm just oh well. Uh there's some days where I I don't respond because I gotta get myself under control. I don't want to say something off the handle or you know, oh, I'm the same.

Boundaries, Cooling Off, And Cleaning Sprees

SPEAKER_01

I gotta walk away a little bit. Yeah, you know, and not necessarily just to you, but just to anything. I'm just like, I got to this got to go away from me for right now. I'm going clean. Like after we did the vendor event the other day and I cleaned my entire kitchen, I was like, Well, I don't know where this energy came from. Number one.

SPEAKER_04

Same because I was so tired and my feet were killing me. I was like, she's mopping her whole house right now. And I had I was on the couch.

SPEAKER_01

Dishes, wiped the cabinets, even kind of like cleared away some junk. Dear Lord. Folded two batches of clothes. I don't know where it came from, but I was like, I'm on a heater, I gotta get it done now. Yeah, okay. You take advantage that you can wallow in whatever is on the floor in the living room. You don't know what it is. Eva. It's layers because it's layers of things. Milk and water. We're a bit about cleaning urine. Yeah, you know. I'm just gonna say titty. I'm gonna do it. But you know, to tea. But it's just like there's only and it and and it's only on once a week because I clean it, you know, often. Yes, you have to make it. Toast bread smeared on the floor. You just don't know. Butter. I couldn't take it anymore.

SPEAKER_04

It's butter for sure. Because every time I see Ross. And like little toe prints all over butter in her fingers, butter all over, butter everywhere in her hair, everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Probably the same for me, but let me just say I got it all done. I don't know where it came from. I don't know where we got on this tangent, but I was just like, um, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

This is one of the episodes.

SPEAKER_01

I had to put my phone down. That's what it was. I had to put my phone down and get away from it. And I listened to Dolly and clean my house, and I just had the most spectacular Saturday night drinking my mill of light and cleaning.

Team Leadership, Black Friday, And Merch Grind

SPEAKER_04

Hey, when those moments come, you just seize them. Seize the day. Seize. Seize the opportunity. Oh, time to go get your kids. Time to get my kids, but I got somebody handling that. Um, what else is going on right now? We um the end of the year things, like uh, I feel like we well, we did a lot with our Lime Life team this month uh in December. Well, or like around the holidays, you know, we do extra things with our with our team and bust them both. We we busted it because you know, the sh is the season, you know, to make sales, unfortunately. I mean, say good or bad about the retail side of things, but like people are buying right now. So for our Lime Life businesses, the holidays are big.

SPEAKER_01

This is the biggest month.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So um we've been really working hard with that and then leading our teams, and uh it's a lot, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a lot. We did. I'm so glad we did our team stuff though in November so that we can in December really focus more on the family side of stuff. Yeah. Um, and you know, Black Friday and all that has kind of already passed, and yeah, this month is really just about, you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well now, like I feel like the closer it gets to Christmas, the more we were like less uh less business worried or focused. Yeah. Because everyone is like that right now. You know, everyone is focusing more on the family things, which is good because November into mid early mid-December is like business. Oh, you're hustling.

Faith, Mental Health, And Staying Grounded

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, girl, merch. Uh-huh. Merch has been another thing we've been up to. Um, like just like that shirt you're wearing, that Christmas shirt. And that shirt you wearing. Okay. It's um it's that's been big for us too. We've been busy doing that, and there's no other person. You packing and shipping every single order. I'm packing and shipping, but she's on the website, and I need y'all to understand like this is how this relationship works. Because people's like, okay, but tell me about your website. I'm like, I can't tell you about that. That's her. You want to know about the packing and shipping? And I like I could deal with all that, but as for what goes on the website, the different variants and all the things, that's that girl over there. I have no idea. So it takes uh we each have our role. We have our role, and um, but it's been busy and blessedly busy.

SPEAKER_04

Blessedly busy, yeah. I just thought of that um thing I've I saw it shared on Facebook one time, and I'm trying to remember the exact words, but it was like the thing you're stressed about right now is the thing that you prayed for. Oh, you know, like how blessed are you to be stressed because you're so busy with the things that you prayed for. And I'm like, okay, Lord, yes, just breathe. I called you to this for a reason, for a purpose. This is you know what you were meant to do. So just breathe. And don't neglect our time together. Like, that is what I can tell you in these busy seasons of life, be it around the holidays, around but around any time of the year, don't neglect your time with Jesus. Like, that's the thing that's gonna keep you from going bananas. For me, I mean, I can tell if a few days I go without praying or or missing my devotional time in the morning, reading the scriptures and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I notice.

SPEAKER_04

I notice. I'm I'm more short tempered with my kids. I feel I can feel the anxiety. You know?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So absolutely that. Um Jesus is number one. It's the season of it's it's seasonal depression time. Okay. It's a real it's a real thing. It's a real thing. So, you know, adding a little vitamin D. Ain't gonna hurt nobody, but don't forget to take your meds either. Uh-huh. Okay, take care of yourself too first. Yeah. Um, well, Jesus and yourself. You can't pour from an empty cup. You can't pour from an empty cup. I I can't forget to take my meds. Don't forget to take I I know that sounds kind of weird, but hey, it is a thing. Okay. And if you are feeling some type of way, reach out to somebody. Because there's always somebody that's going to listen. Jesus is always there to listen, but there's there's gonna be somebody on the other end of it. Yeah. So don't don't forget to reach out to you. And you're not alone.

Gratitude, Sponsor Thanks, And Sign-Off

SPEAKER_04

Don't ever let the like the enemy wants you to think that you're alone. Because he he he knows he got you. If he can isolate you and especially get you away from Jesus, don't let his voice be the loudest in your head. Mm-hmm. You know? Some good stuff. Yeah, good stuff. All over the place. This episode was all over the place. So we hope you stayed along for the ride. Stay here. Stay here. Yes. All right, y'all. Let's wrap it up by saying thank you to Hal. Um, she's our friend, she's our uh recipe guru, she's our seasoning expert, I will say. Go to how the CajunLadyaccent.com and check out her whole line of Cajun seasonings. We have some displayed on the shelf for you. Um, if you're watching our YouTube, you can see it. But everything is tasty, it's Cajun Mama approved. Um, some of it's a little spicy now. If you like the spice, you're gonna get you. I like a little kick. Uh-huh. If you want your nose to be running a little bit, uh, she got you covered. Mild spice, no, it's not overly salty and no MSG in all of her seasonings, which is hard to find, y'all. So go to how the CajunLadyaccent.com, follow her on all the social medias, and subscribe for uh for email notifications too, because if she has anything going on, you're gonna want to know about it and you're gonna get some email updates. So thanks for listening, y'all. Um we'll see y'all next week.
