Hey guys, I'm Lore and welcome back to Learn to Love You, a show all about self-love and learning how to heal the most important relationship that you have in your life, which is the one between you and yourself. Together, we'll unlearn all the conditioning that has kept us down over the years as we learn how to have happier, healthier, more secure, and loving relationships with ourselves. Whether you're a new listener or returning listener, welcome to the most spectacular show in the world! I'm grateful to have you here for another episode today. So for today's episode, unfortunately, there is no video on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Yes. So the reason for this is because I had recorded this original idea into a video using a whiteboard. So I posted the video on YouTube because I have a YouTube channel as well. So the original video around this topic can be found on YouTube. But since it took so long to create that one 12-minute video, I simply just decided to recreate a podcast episode just for audio. So that will be posted on Spotify and Apple if you're listening to it on there. But if you would like to see the 12-minute video that I made with the whiteboard that did take me days to record, I would appreciate you going over to the Learn to Love You YouTube channel and clicking on the video and giving it a view, a like, and a subscribe. That would definitely help with all the production that I put into it. But if you just simply want to listen to the audio only today, then that's perfectly fine. The only downside is that you just won't be seeing my beautiful face. But two weeks from now, I will be back with regular video format so you can see my lovely face then. So today's episode is going to be short and sweet. I know everyone always says it's gonna be short and sweet and then it ends up being really long, but I'm gonna try my best to make it short and sweet. The original video was 12 minutes, so I'm gonna try to keep this podcast episode somewhere around there. But you know I love to yap, so no promises. Today we're gonna talk about how to manifest self-love into your life. And this could be applied to manifesting anything, but since this channel is all about self-love, that is what we're gonna be talking about mostly today. And this is very valuable information that I feel like everyone should know, so that's why I was hoping to keep the podcast today short, sweet, and straight to the point. But we'll see how that ends up. But let's get into our topic today: how to manifest self-love. Manifest self-love? I can manifest self-love? Yes, you can. Actually, self-love and self-hate are both manifestations, and when you look to the current relationship that you have with yourself, all of us have either manifested one or the other. Well, well, how can this be? I thought that you could only manifest objects or money or cars or houses or love from other people, not self-love or self-hate. Well, let's first talk about what manifestation is, and then you'll understand it. So manifestation is just a fancy word for creation. And if you don't like the term manifestation or you think it's too out there or too woo-woo, then you can simply just place the word manifestation with creation if that feels like a better fit for you. It's practically the same thing. But since this episode is titled How to Manifest Self-Love, I'm still gonna be using the word manifestation in this episode. But feel free to replace it with creation if that feels best to you. So, contrary to popular belief, manifestation is not this instant popping up of an item or a thing like we've been conditioned to believe it is. We think I'm gonna manifest my dream life. That means everything's just gonna pop up for me. That million dollars is gonna pop up into my bank account. That dream house, I'm basically just gonna have the keys handed to me. Someone's just gonna give me the keys and I'm gonna open the door and boom, there it is. But instead, manifestation is something that grows into reality over time. A lot of us think that manifestation is supposed to just be this quick drive down the street. We get into the car, we buckle up, and then boom, in two minutes we're there. But instead, manifestation is more like a long and winding road traveled on foot. I know, I know. Sometimes I really wish it was just a quick drive down the street. It would just make life easier, right? But this means that whatever you're manifesting most likely isn't just gonna pop into your reality overnight and instantly. And I get it, I want that million dollars and a snap too. But instead, manifestation is something that's going to grow into your reality over time instead. So imagine a plant, a tree, or a garden. These things don't just pop up onto the earth. I mean, unless you're in Vegas, but they grow and manifest into reality and onto the earth over time. And so lots of us have this idea that manifestation is just the end result of something, but rather manifestation is the entire process leading up to the end result. It's the creation as well as the entire creative process. It's not just the tree itself, but instead it's the entire process of growing that tree. So now let's talk about how we manifest. And there's actually a holy trinity when it comes to manifestation. Three primary factors that go into manifesting absolutely anything in reality and in life. And a few episodes ago, I mentioned I was reading the book called Conversations with God. And honestly, this book has been revolutionary and life-changing and has truly reshaped so many of my perspectives on the universe, on God, universal laws, universal truths, and it's really just been eye-opening and life-changing. And I started reading it back in March when I hit rock bottom, and ever since then, I've just been slowly reading it. I haven't completed it yet because it's just so good, and I've just been wanting to savor each chapter and all the pages. So I've been rereading it and I haven't gotten to the end of it yet. But on page 74 of this book, God basically spills how we manifest. It's basically the universal law of creation, manifestation. If we follow these three primary ways, this is how we create anything in our lives. So, what is the hoop law about this book? Okay, so I'm basically going to read you what it says on page 74 about manifestation, and this is just a little preview if you want to actually pick up a copy of this book. So, this is what God says to the author. The process of creation starts with a thought, an idea, a concept, and a visualization. Everything you see was once someone's idea. Nothing exists in your world that did not first exist as a pure thought. This is true of the universe as well. Thought is the first level of creation. Next comes word. Everything you say is a thought expressed. It is creative, it sends forth creative energy into the universe. Words are more dynamic than thoughts, and some would say more creative, because words are a different level of vibration from thought. They disrupt, they change, they alter, they affect the universe with greater impact. Words are the second level of creation. And next comes action. Actions are words moving, words are thoughts expressed, thoughts are ideas formed, ideas are energies come together, energies are forces released, forces are elements existent, elements are particles of God, portions of all the stuff of everything. The beginning is God, the end is action. Action is God creating or God experienced. So this came from page 74 of the book called Conversations with God by Neil Donald Walsh. Pick up a copy if you feel called to. So basically, in a nutshell, God had revealed all three elements of creation: thoughts, words, and actions. All three of these things combined are the tools that we need in order to manifest or create anything into our realities. So let's actually go through it all. So all manifestations and creations start at the level of our thoughts. Thoughts are the place where ideas are first born. And from those thoughts, we turn those ideas into words or expressions. These expressions could be anything, it doesn't just have to be you saying words. It can be spoken, sang, sketched in a drawing, expressed in some other form of way, physically written on paper, whatever it might be to express your thoughts, that's the level of word. And a huge one that people do often in manifestation circles and communities are make vision boards. Vision boards are literally a form of word, they're a form of expression. It's pictures expressing the ideas that you have. But a big problem is with manifestation is that a lot of us stop after we create the vision board. We don't actually take action to express the expressions that we have, we don't take action towards those images, we don't take action towards those words, and that's why things aren't created because we're not using the third thing which is creating through action. And so this is the process of manifestation in a nutshell thoughts, words, and actions. So I have a mug right now in my hands, and this mug that I'm carrying right now was once a thought in someone's mind. Someone had the idea. And then the person had expressed it. Maybe it was a drawing or a design or an image of what they wanted the mug to be. Maybe they put down some ideas for designs, or they drew some pictures of it, or they had an image that they pulled from Google from a reference, and then they sat down and they manufactured the mug and crafted it into the mug that I'm holding today. Maybe they did ceramics, maybe they 3D printed it. I'm not sure how it was made exactly, but they took the action to create it into reality. And so the manifestation is the process that made the mug, but the mug itself is the thing that was manifested. And another example is the shirt that you're wearing right now. I mean, unless you don't have a shirt on, but I'm assuming most people do. The person that made your shirt was like, Hey, I want to make a shirt. And then it was expressed through words or drawing or pictures or references, and then that same person or someone else sat down and sewed it together and crafted it into the shirt that's on your back today. And the same exact thing happened with this very podcast. It always starts with an idea of what to talk about for each episode. Then come the words that I say. I typically script all of my episodes and then I record them, I edit them, and then it comes to your ears over time, roughly in the span of two weeks or so. It really does take me some time to do it from beginning to end. But since we live on Earth, there's one more factor to this equation of manifestation that I didn't mention. And the fourth factor, can you guess what it is? I know you can do it. Okay, fine, I'll give it to you. The fourth factor is time. All manifestations cultivate over time. I know that we want our manifestations instantly, but just like a garden or a tree, everything that we manifest grows into reality over time based on our words, our actions, and our thoughts. And would you look at that? We just hit the 12-minute mark. I knew this episode was not going to be shorter than 12 minutes. I just knew. Like it just never is. I'm telling you, it never is because I just love to yap. But anyway, let's get back into the prompt. So let's talk about now how self-love and self-hate are manifestations because I brought that up in the beginning, and it might not make a lot of sense. So I want to explain exactly how we get to that point through manifestation and creation. So I want you to take a moment to assess the current relationship that you have with yourself. And don't worry, this is not for show and tell. No one needs to know exactly how you feel about yourself. And if you don't have a great relationship with yourself, this is literally what we're here to learn how to do on this podcast. So you're listening to the right show today. And I'm proud of you. But whether we like it or not, the relationship that we have with ourselves right now is something that we've manifested and created over time. It's a direct result and reflection of your thoughts about yourself, the words you say to yourself, and the way that you treat yourself. And so whatever you've manifested the relationship with yourself into is no accident, but it's highly likely that it might not have been a conscious creation. For the majority of us, we've been unknowingly manifesting a negative relationship with ourselves for as long as we can remember. And before I became aware that I was doing this, I too had created a negative relationship with myself. When we think negative thoughts about ourselves and we speak to ourselves in ways that we never speak to anyone else, and we don't take care of ourselves or treat ourselves with respect and kindness, we're always being creative. And so when we don't recognize that we're doing these things to ourselves, what do you imagine our relationship with ourselves turns into? The more that we think negative about ourselves and we say harmful words and we mistreat ourselves, this combination grows into us not having a good relationship with ourselves over time. It creates an unloving and self-hating relationship with ourselves. And don't worry, there's no reason to feel ashamed or wrong for this because you have to understand that nobody in their right mind would consciously choose to create or to select a bad relationship with themselves. No one would consciously select to manifest self-hate. I mean, unless, you know, you're that kind of person, but I feel like most people on earth wouldn't select to have a negative relationship with themselves. We only do this because we don't realize that we're actually creating the relationship with ourselves at all times. When we don't realize our creative power, we don't always harness it in the best way. And literally all my life I was creating a negative relationship with myself. And only recently, in the past few years, did I realize that this is what I've been doing the entire time through the thoughts about myself, the words I would say to myself, and the way I would treat myself. And only recently did I learn how to stop doing this. But I also want you to know the negative thoughts that we have about ourselves are rarely our original thoughts about ourselves, but rather they're a collection of judgments, projections, and ideas that people have placed onto us. Maybe someone in your childhood had projected the idea that you were not good enough, you were stupid, you were ugly, you were worthless, whatever it might be. And when we're children, we don't really know how to differentiate what's true and what's false. If someone says something about us, we're gonna start to believe that thing. And especially if you hear that thing all the time from other people when you're young and you don't know how to define yourself, whatever other people are gonna tell you about yourself is what you're gonna start believing about yourself. And when we have all these negative thoughts about ourselves, that ends up influencing how we speak about ourselves and how we treat ourselves too. Because if someone's constantly thinking negative about themselves, you can't really expect them to say positive affirmations or to treat themselves in loving and kind ways because their mind is filled with so many thoughts of self-hate. And so our thoughts end up influencing how we speak to ourselves and how we treat ourselves, and this whole combination, negative thoughts, negative words, negative actions create an unloving relationship with ourselves. However, the silver lining is if we were to flip all of these things around into positive thoughts, positive words and uplifting and positive actions, a whole new and better relationship with ourselves can be created. So, how do we do this once and for all? How do we now start to manifest self-love? So, self-love is not rocket science, okay? I know that we think, oh, it's so impossible, it's so out there. But following this formula, self-love is actually quite simple. Self-love is a combination of positive thoughts about yourself, uplifting words spoken to and about yourself, as well as actions that show that you care for yourself and you respect yourself. And the reason why self-love is so hard for so many of us is because we haven't been consciously creating it. We've been unknowingly creating a negative relationship with ourselves for as long as we can remember, and that's what's familiar to us. So if we were to change that familiar pattern into a positive one, your brain starts to freak out.
SPEAKER_00It's like, oh my gosh, all this positivity, I can't handle this. I want the darkness, I want the pain, I want the negativity, that's what's comfortable to me, that's what's familiar. All this sunshine and rainbow crap doesn't belong here.
SPEAKER_01But over time, the more that you think, speak, and treat yourself in positive and loving ways, your brain starts to get on board and it becomes more familiar to do so because you're gonna start rewiring your mind. And so this is how you manifest self-love into your life. This is the golden formula. But first, you have to start with your thoughts because from your thoughts are where all your words and actions towards yourself follow. Well, that's great in all lore, but what if I still think negatively about myself? What if I have negative thoughts about myself all the time, every day, and I just don't know how to stop thinking negatively about myself. I want you to understand that it's okay to have negative thoughts about yourself. In fact, sometimes even I still have negative thoughts about myself from time to time. And the thing is, you can't really control every single thought that your brain thinks. It's just your mind honestly just thinks thoughts on its own. And sometimes you just can't control what you think about. But every single time I do have a negative thought about myself, let me tell you what I do. I become aware of it, I catch it, I don't just settle with it and roll with it and accept it and just be like, oh, you know, that must just be true. That's just an absolute fact. You know, that negative thought is a true fact about me. No, I challenge it, I question it, and ultimately I choose to call in a new thought. The problem is we don't actually take time to examine our thoughts, we kind of just casually roll with them or accept them all as true and think that they're absolute facts just because we think them. But we rarely, if ever, take time and a moment to actually ask ourselves: do I actually want to think this thought or not? Do I want to believe or entertain this thought that makes me feel like crap, or do I want to think differently? And just because a thought arises doesn't mean that you have to buy into it, you can choose to think a different thought, and this is what mindfulness is called. This is what all the yogis are obsessed with, this is what mindfulness is, because they see the power in being conscious about your thoughts and choosing different thoughts that you actually want to think in place of the negative thoughts. And if you do have a negative thought about yourself, you can call in a new thought that feels better for you. You have the authority to do so. And you might not believe all of these new positive thoughts about yourself at first, but the more that you call these thoughts in, the more your belief system around them is going to change over time. And from there, it's really important to look at how we speak to ourselves and how we speak about ourselves to other people. If we're constantly calling ourselves ugly or stupid or tearing ourselves down with our words, or making ourselves the butt of the joke in front of other people, we can also change this. I realize a lot of us make ourselves the butt of the joke or we tear ourselves down in front of other people because we want to seem humble. We don't want to seem like we're better than others, and so we think that in order to relate to these people, I have to tear myself down. But honey, you ain't gotta do that. You do not have to tear yourself apart in order to fit in. There's no reason for you to shame on your dignity and destroy yourself in front of other people in order to make friends. You don't have to do that to make friends, and it's not like you have to brag about yourself either, but you can have high self-esteem and still make friends. I feel like this whole idea that I have to simply tear myself apart and rip myself to shreds because you know, if I don't, then other people are gonna think that I'm better than them. Babe, you ain't gotta do that. You do not have to rip yourself apart in order to make friends. You can have high self-esteem and be humble. And you also have the power to speak a different word. You can start calling yourself beautiful, say affirmations, and stop talking down on yourself in front of other people. And even if these new positive words feel icky and unnatural at first, it's just the same as our thoughts. You're just stepping out of your comfort zone, and over time it's gonna feel so much easier and better to say these things to yourself. And finally, it's time for us to change our actions, start treating yourself. In a more loving and caring and kind way. If you're always putting yourself last, put yourself first for once. And also, it's really important for us to ask ourselves: is there anything that I'm currently doing in my life that doesn't make me feel very good or at peace or healthy? And it might be time to start seeing how you can stop doing these things. And sometimes it can be jarring to cut out unhealthy things from our lives and go cold turkey with certain things. So I suggest instead of focusing so heavily on cutting stuff out, start adding in more things that make you feel good. Start adding more things that make you feel healthy and adding more things that make you feel at peace. Because I realize that the more that you fill your life with things that make you feel good and joyful and peaceful and healthy, you naturally just stop craving the things that don't make you feel that way. And I feel like for me, like it wasn't me stopping eating fast food, it was just me starting to eat better. And over time, I just realized I no longer had a craving for the fast food because I started enjoying healthy food so much more. And I feel like a big reason why we get fixed on unhealthy habits is because we're not filling our lives with things that actually make us feel good. Because when we fill our lives with things that make us feel good and we actually start feeling good, we won't want to contribute to putting anything in our lives that doesn't make us feel that way. And I just want you to also remember that all of this takes time. No manifestation is going to happen overnight, including the relationship that you have with yourself. If you're ready to transform it, it's going to take time to manifest into a positive relationship with yourself. But you have to ask yourself: am I willing to take the time that it's going to take to call in a new relationship with myself that actually makes me feel really good about who I am? Now that I know that I can actually manifest and create differently, am I going to take the time that it's going to take in order to do so? Because the more that we start choosing loving and constructive thoughts, words, and actions for ourselves, the more the relationship that we have with ourselves is going to improve over time. And all of this, in a nutshell, is how we manifest self-love. Call in a new thought, speak a new word, and change your actions. And you will see the relationship with yourself bloom into something magnificent. If you keep to this, I hope that you guys enjoyed today's episode. If it inspired you, make sure to give the podcast five stars on whatever listening platform you're listening to it on. Also make sure to share this podcast with a friend or someone that you think will benefit from it. And instead of 12 minutes, the podcast was 24 minutes. Double the time I said it was gonna take. Isn't that crazy? But I guess if you have valuable things to say, why not take all the time that you need to say them? But just remember that we can think differently, we can speak differently, and we can act differently. And whatever you're trying to manifest in your life, if you follow this framework of thoughts, words, and deeds, you can see anything create into your reality over time. But just remember, guys, that I believe in you, but I just want you to believe in yourself. I'll see you guys next time.
