Hi, everybody, welcome to the introductory episode of the CS RevSpeak podcast. I'm your host, Angeline Gavino, and I'm super excited to be sharing with you a little bit more about what this podcast is about. This podcast is actually a spin-off of my coaching and training company of a similar name, where I work with customer success leaders who carry a revenue number. So the whole premise of CS RevSpeak is to help customer success leaders be able to speak the language of revenue, which is increasingly really becoming more relevant right now because we're seeing a shift in the landscape where in a lot of organizations, customer success teams are expected to drive commercial conversations, own renewals, expansions, upsells, and cross-sells. And with a lot of the conversations that I've had with customer success leaders, the challenge that they have on the ground is that there is not a lot of resources that speak directly to how do you lead a revenue-generating customer success team. Yes, we know that customer success fundamentally is responsible for driving revenue growth within the existing customer base. And in the earlier years, what that meant was that the customer success team was responsible for onboarding the customers, driving the adoption, ensuring value was realized, and then potentially identifying expansion opportunities that they then pass on to the sales team or the account management team. But as I said, the shift that we're seeing now is that customer success teams are responsible for the whole post-sales life cycle, which includes the sales and commercial conversations as well. So if you're a customer success leader who's coming from a non-revenue generating or non-coda carrying customer success background, and you're now having to lead a team that needs to produce revenue outcomes, then this podcast is for you. Or maybe you are already leading a coda carrying team and want to hear a little bit more about tips, best practices, and strategies that you can implement to improve your team's performance, then this podcast is for you as well. What are the topics we're going to talk about? We're going to be talking about customer-led growth transformation. How do you shift your strategy to become revenue driven? We're going to talk about different sales methodologies that customer success teams who carry a revenue number really need to adopt. Things like how do you do forecasting? How do you do pipeline inspection? How do you do opportunity reviews? We'll also talk about how do you coach your customer success teams to be effective in negotiating and driving expansion sales. We're going to be talking about best practices for managing and negotiating renewals. How to identify and capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities. How to develop an operational framework that puts structure in place for a customer success team to really drive revenue and exceed your quota. We're going to talk about how to create fair and motivating coda and commission structures for your team. Really, there is an endless list of topics that we can talk about to help customer success leaders such as yourself to confidently lead a revenue-driven customer success team. I'm going to be dropping an episode every other week where either I'm sharing my experience leading a coda-carrying customer success team, or we're talking to thought leaders or to customer success leaders who are in the same position. We're going to deep dive into practical strategies and actionable insights that you yourself can implement within your customer success teams.
