What if the best way to begin the year is by not forcing a beginning at all? We open the door to a different January—one that honors the threshold between what was and what’s still becoming. Instead of chasing clarity, we invite presence, deep rest, and the kind of listening that reveals what’s quietly unfolding beneath the surface.

With warmth and steadiness, Lizzy guides you into a 30‑minute Yoga Nidra designed for winter: get comfortable, settle your body, and choose an intention not as a fix or a goal, but as a way of being. Through simple cues and gentle awareness, you’ll enter a state of conscious rest where the body sleeps and the mind remains softly awake.

The heart of the experience is a vivid winter visualization—dark, fertile soil beneath you, silent snowfall above, and a sense of being fully held. This imagery reframes stillness as capacity, not emptiness. By attuning to the earth’s quiet potential, you loosen the grip of urgency and reconnect with the deeper pacing of your own life. We close with a caring return to wakefulness, repeating your intention and inviting small movements that help you carry this calm into the rest of your day.

If you’ve felt behind, pressured, or unsure how to start, let this be your reset: you’re right on time. Press play to rest with us, begin the year with presence rather than pressure, and let clarity arrive when it’s ready. If this practice supports you, subscribe, share with a friend who needs a pause, and leave a review to help others find their way to rest.

Listener Reflection
Rest has a way of revealing what effort cannot. After this Yoga Nidra, notice what surfaced — sensations, emotions, or quiet insights. What would it feel like to trust that clarity is unfolding in its own time?

January As A Threshold

SPEAKER_01

January is often treated like a starting line. A moment to rush forward, reinvent ourselves, and have everything all figured out. But energetically, January is something else entirely. It's a threshold. A space between what was and what's still becoming. This month on the Modern Send Collective Podcast, we're honoring that in-between space. Through conversation, grounding, and deep rest, we're inviting you to slow down, soften the pressure, and listen more closely to what's unfolding beneath the surface. You don't need to clarify yet. You don't need a plan. You're not behind. You're right on time. So join us this January as we explore the threshold and begin the year with presence, not pressure. Hello everyone. Welcome to today's practice. I'm about to guide you through about thirty-five minutes of Yoga Nidra, all centered around this deep winter rest. So settle into a comfortable lying position, allowing your body to be fully supported. I recommend a bolster, a pillow under your knees, a blanket, maybe some socks. Make sure you'll be warm and comfortable so that you can just lay still and not feel the need to adjust during the practice. Allow your body to be fully supported and make those final adjustments so you won't need to move again. Yoga nidra is a state of conscious rest where the body sleeps and your awareness remains gently awake. Allow yourself to be exactly as you are. And now bring to mind a simple intention, not a goal, not something to fix, but a way of being. Imagine yourself resting in a quiet winter landscape. The earth is still. The air is calm. Everything is at rest beneath the surface. You're lying on the ground, looking up the sky as the snow falls around you. Silently blanketing the earth. You're lying on dark, fertile soil. Feel it beneath you, supporting you, holding you. It's not empty, but full of quiet potential. Relaxed and be held. Feel the surface beneath you once again. Hear the sounds in the room around you. Notice your breath. Repeat your intention once more, letting it settle deeply. Slowly begin to invite small movements back into the body. Wiggling your fingers and your toes. Rolling out your wrists and your ankles. Bringing your arms up overhead along the ground and taking one full body stretch all the way from your fingers to your toes. Whenever you're ready, you can slowly flutter your eyes home. And carry the sense of deep rest within you, knowing that clarity will emerge just in its own time. Thank you so much for joining me today for this beautiful Yoga Nitra practice. It's one of my favorites. See you next time.
