Hi, friend.
Welcome to season two
of your body speaks.
I'm Dr.
Brook, and this season is all
about the whispers we miss.
Not the symptoms that demand attention.
The fever, the pain, the breakdown.
Not the loud warning signs that
send you running to urgent care or
double over in discomfort.
But the quiet ones.
The subtle, easy to ignore signals
your body gives you every single day.
These are the soft nudges,
the gentle shifts, the things that don't
seem like a big deal until they are.
If you're new here, welcome.
And if you've been around a while, you
already know your body isn't random.
It's not separate from your faith, your
emotions, your thoughts or your spirit.
It is all connected.
And in that beautiful, divinely
designed connection, God gave us
something so incredibly special.
An inner operating system.
One that speaks.
One that guides.
One that heals.
And all of these whispers are how
your body is trying to speak to you.
We just have to learn to hear it again.
And if you've never been taught how
to listen, this season
is your invitation to start.
Let's start here.
Have you ever felt weird tightness
in your jaw after a long day?
Or noticed your breath gets shallow
before a meeting you dread?
Maybe your stomach turns when your phone
buzzes or your knee starts to ache
when you're around a certain person?
Maybe your chest feels heavy
just before a conversation.
Or your shoulders that creep up towards
your ears as you're sitting in traffic
or just scrolling through your phone.
And here's one I really
want you to think about.
You go to a restaurant with some friends.
You open up the menu and you see certain
things and your stomach starts to ache.
No big pain.
No dramatic symptoms.
Just subtle discomfort.
Something in your gut is
saying, no, don't do it.
Don't get that.
But you override it.
You order anyway, because it's what
you always get or what you should get.
Maybe because you don't
want to be difficult.
But that ache, that whisper, was your
body's first act of protection.
It was trying to say to you,
this isn't for us right now.
And yet what do we usually do?
We brush it off.
We say, I'm just stressed.
I must have slept fine.
Funny, it's not really the food.
It was something I ate earlier today.
It's probably just hormones.
Maybe I'm overreacting.
Maybe I'm overreacting.
But what if it was none of those things?
What if your body was trying
to get your attention gently?
That's what we're going
to be exploring this season.
The whispers, the ones most people miss,
or worse, dismiss until it's too late.
But you But But you don't have to.
Here's the question.
If your body had something
really, really important to say,
why doesn't it just scream?
Why wouldn't it just
knock you off your feet?
Because God didn't design
your body to scream first.
He designed it to whisper.
Because in the whisper, you build trust.
In the whisper, you grow awareness.
In the whisper, you get to choose healing
before it becomes a crisis.
And the more you learn to hear
the whispers, the less it has to rise.
And the more you learn
to hear the whispers, the less
it has to raise its voice.
This is the heart of this episode
and really, this whole season
and my entire body of work.
Because the human body is a masterpiece
fearfully and wonderfully made.
And developing an intimate, trusting
relationship is not only possible, it is
the starting point of true healing.
But But here's the truth, and I
want you to hear this clearly.
It's not your fault if
you've missed the whisper.
constantly teaches we we live in a chaotic
world that constantly teaches us
to override what we feel.
We're praised for pushing through,
for being strong, for being productive.
But the louder your life becomes
with your busy schedule, the harder
it is to hear what your body is
quietly saying underneath it all.
And And the wellness world
doesn't always help either.
You're being bombarded with
a hundred different shoulds.
Take this supplement.
Cut out this food.
Try this trend.
Join that program.
And in the And in the middle of all the noise,
you are expected to somehow make sense
of your body's uniqueness needs.
Come on.
Of course this is overwhelming.
Of course that leads to confusion.
And when we can't make sense of it all,
we often and when we can't make sense
of it all, we often just numb out.
Whether it's with food scrolling,
overworking, or ignoring
the symptoms altogether, popping
pills and just shutting it up.
We're looking for answers outside
of ourselves that that were actually
designed to come from within.
But that does not mean you're
broken and it doesn't mean
you are doing it wrong.
It just means that no one has ever
taught you how to listen
in a way that is actually sustainable.
And that is why I created this podcast.
That is why I created the bodyOS
Blueprint to help you decode
what your body is saying
and where it's saying it from.
And you can finally feel confident
in your health again.
So what is bodyOS?
Think of your phone.
It runs on an operating
System, an Apple iOS.
A Google Android phone is an Android iOS.
Your body has its own internal system.
Running 24 7.
It manages healing, detox,
digestion, hormones, emotions,
energy, and so much more.
It's intelligent, God designed.
And when we understand
how it works, we can finally make
sense of all the messages.
Every single ache, craving or symptom
is a part of this entire system.
The Body OS frameworks help you.
The bodyOS framework helps you interpret
those messages through four pillars.
Physical, spiritual,
emotional and mental.
And And within those, we explore how
your body speaks through digesting,
through through digestion, through your
skin, through breathing patterns,
through chronic aches or
reoccurring symptoms, even through
the parts of your body that keep
getting your attention.
I'll be sharing more about
that in future episodes.
But just know you are not
in the dark anymore.
You can learn the language
your body speaks and respond with
clarity instead of confusion.
And I'll And I'll help guide you step by step.
I want to give you a few examples of
dismissed whispers I see all the time.
Tight shoulders after
every single zoom call.
That's your nervous system
clenching to protect you.
But here's something else
most people don't realize.
The upper trap muscle, the ones that run
from your neck across your shoulder, are
neurologically related to your eyes.
So if your eyes are straining
from staring at the screen, or
overstimulated or fatigued,
your shoulders might start carrying
that tension. Might start tightening up.
It's not just about posture.
It's your body saying, I'm working
hard to process what
I'm seeing and it's too much.
What What What What about tension in the jaw?
Often tied to unspoken frustration or
feeling like you can express yourself.
Lot of this people don't even
recognize that they're tightening
up their jaw until they realize
when they're sitting in traffic like,
oh my gosh, what's going on?
Why do I feel so much tension here?
Often unspoken frustration,
But it can also be frequent yawning.
Sure, it might mean you're tired,
but it can also be your body's way
of releasing emotional tension,
especially after a mentally
or emotionally draining moment.
And here's something
most people don't know.
Frequent yawning can actually
be a sign of low stomach acid.
Your when When your stomach acid is low,
your body struggles
to break down food properly.
And that can create subtle stress signals
like bloating, fatigue and yes, yawning
as your symptom tries to compensate.
A lot of times what I see with
patients with low stomach acid
is that they are actually
experiencing a lot of acid reflux.
With low stomach acid, we need a little
bit more acid coming into the stomach
to help break down all of that food.
This is your body whispering something
In digestion isn't right.
Pay attention.
What about this one?
Sneezing out of nowhere?
This is the one most people shrug off.
But a sudden sneeze, especially when
you're not sick or around allergens,
can be your immune system activating.
It is a whisper that your body is
sensing something and responding.
The immune system is gearing
up and when that happens, it
is very important to listen.
You need to slow down, you need
to skip the sugar and you need
to hydrate more than usual.
Give your body the rest it may be asking
for before things start to escalate
and you are in full blown sickness.
What about a weird ache in your knee?
Depending on the location, it could
be a myriad of different things.
Sometimes we think knee pain
can just be like we were walking
funny or something happened.
But hear me out on this.
Pain on the inside of your knee
is tied to adrenal stress.
Your body is tired of constantly
giving and those adrenal glands
are are feeling the pressure.
What about on top of the kneecap?
That's A sign of dehydration.
And your kidneys are asking
for more water to function.
What about on the outside of the knee?
That is a large intestine
gallbladder meridian and can be tied
to something you are holding
onto that needs to be released.
Maybe you ate something that
your body didn't like.
Maybe you are not having
proper bowel movements.
Maybe the gallbladder is having an issue
producing enough bile or there's
too much fat coming into the diet.
These are all things to consider when you
have pain on the outside of that knee.
What about the lower
front part of your knee?
Underneath the kneecap,
going down towards the leg?
That's a sign of your small
intestines having problems.
Are you struggling to absorb nutrients?
Physical or emotional?
Small intestine hangs
on to a lot of things.
These are not just random,
they are messages.
They are very precise
and they are very specific.
Your body is trying to talk
to you every single day.
But how do we begin
to hear the whisper again?
Not with complicated health routines, not
with more striving, but with curiosity,
slowness, and a simple daily check in.
You don't need another test.
You don't need a complex protocol.
You need a tool that helps you
notice and respond with grace.
And that is why I created something
for you, my podcast listeners.
It is called the My Body's Whispers
Journal and you can download it
for free right now using
the link in the show notes.
It's designed to help you reconnect
with your body one signal at a time.
Now, before you begin, I do want
to remind you of something
really, really, really important.
Developing an intimate relationship
with your body is just like building
trust with a new friend or partner.
As at first it feels incredibly awkward.
You're not quite sure
what it's saying or how to respond.
But over time, just like any deep
relationship, things begin to click
and you start noticing patterns.
You start anticipating needs.
You start knowing without
overthinking this.
That's what this journal is for.
It's your space
to begin the relationship.
Inside, you'll find space
to track the daily whispers or
subtle symptoms of your body.
You'll be able to ask gentle
reflection questions like what was
happening before I felt this?
Is Is this new or is it a pattern?
Is my body asking for
something right now?
And then you'll also have a place
to ask, how can I lovingly respond?
You You don't have to have it
all figured out overnight.
You just need to begin noticing.
And that's exactly what
this journal helps you do.
One moment at a time.
So I want to close with this.
Your body is speaking.
It always has been.
Maybe you've missed
the whispers, and that's okay.
Maybe you've overridden
them, and that's okay, too.
Today is a new start.
So let this be your invitation
to slow down, to tune in, and to trust
that your body isn't a problem
to fix, but a partner to listen to.
Because healing starts in the quiet,
in the stillness, in the listening.
So this week, here's what I
want to invite you to do.
First and foremost, download the journal.
Write down one whisper a day,
and pray this prayer with me right now.
God, help me slow down enough
to hear what you've placed inside of me.
Let me see my body as
a gift and not a problem.
Let me trust that you've designed it
to speak and that I can learn to listen.
You're not alone on this journey.
I'm here, and so is your body.
If this episode has resonated with you,
would you do me a huge favor and share
And and share it with a friend
who might be missing out
on their body's whispers, too.
Until next time, stay curious, stay kind
to your body, and keep listening.
