Betty Aldworth

Betty Aldworth is Co-Executive Director of MAPS, advancing equitable, post-prohibition access to psychedelics for healing and growth. Previously MAPS’ Director of Communications & Education, she helped shape public narratives supporting psychedelic research. Before MAPS, she led Students for Sensible Drug Policy, guiding major organizational expansion and stability. Since 1999, she’s worked in community engagement, advocacy, and policy reform, including as spokesperson for Colorado’s 2012 cannabis-regulation campaign. A lifelong activist, she focuses on ending the drug war, reducing incarceration, and promoting racial and economic justice. She advises DanceSafe and StoptheDrugWar.org and chairs the boards of the Marijuana Policy Project and its foundation.
