Sound Baths, Shamanic Healing & Spiritual Plot Twists… Oh My! (Meet Dr. Kathia Roberts)

[00:00:00]

On a beautiful fix. We believe that transformation happens when we reconnect with what makes us feel truly alive. My guest today is a beautiful example of this. Someone who has navigated challenges embrace their journey and found ways to step into their power. I am so excited to dive into her story and share the wisdom she's gathered along the way.

Dr. Kathia Roberts is a naturopathic physician. Medicine woman and spiritual mentor who uses her unique blend of natural healing, shamanic energy [00:01:00] medicine, and spiritual mentoring to help individuals reclaim their authentic potential. Based on years of experience and personal growth, sound healing, and the study of ancient Egyptian wisdom, Dr.

Kathia guides others on their journey to heal and reconnect with their true selves through her programs like Soar. Retreats and pilgrimages. She empowers individuals to break free from limiting beliefs, awaken their inner strength, and live a life of abundance, joy, and purpose. I am so excited to introduce you guys, Dr.

Kathia Roberts. Welcome. Thank you. Thank you, Tracy. I'm so honored to be here. So, and to have shared the space with you in Mexico on a retreat Absolutely. Is a gift. So, so, um. Dr. Kathia, she's one of those people that just, [00:02:00] her energy is so beautiful. She lights up a room, she lights up a country. I mean, when you are in her presence, it is the most beautiful thing.

It literally just exudes from you. So it's so wonderful to see you again and for you to, to join us. Thank you so. I'd love to start by just hearing your story. It's so amazing on so many levels. It's so complex and layered. You've built such a powerful practice around holistic healing and spiritual growth.

What sparked your passion for this work and led you to where you are today? Well, it's really those dark moments, right? The, and when we kind of lo feeling lost and we are looking for the answers. So it started when I was a teenager. And, um, because everyone always asks me, so what brought me to become a holistic doctor and do this work?

And yes, you know, I was, you know, misdiagnosed, uh, with Tourette [00:03:00] syndrome and um, and also diagnosed with depression and put on Prozac and Ritalin. And at that time the Prozac, um, gave me a lot of side effects, actually made me suicidal and I tried to commit suicide. At age 16. Oh gosh. And then, um, you know, I, I had this whole spiritual reawakening at that time and I told my mom, there's absolutely nothing wrong with me.

God loves me just the way I am. Um, I'm already well haul and complete and I'm not gonna take these medications, and I flushed it down the toilet and that sets the path for me to that. Then I looked for natural ways of supporting myself because, you know, I do get those emotional dips. I am a very emotional person, so, you know, how do I support myself naturally in that?

So I've helped a lot of patients over the years get off. Me medications and to help heal their bodies [00:04:00] through mind, body, and spirit. And a lot of the work that I've started focusing on now is more the deeper, the deeper journey, because what we express physically is rooted in that psychosomatic. Um, expression of what we need to address, you know, what, what's those deeper layers?

So, so that was one of, one of the things that we call, that was like a pivot moment in my life. But then there's been quite a few others that, you know, where I went from practicing clinical medicine, more focusing on shamanic work and, and these spiritual pilgrimages, which happened. Um, also when I experienced a lot of grief in my life in 2012, it was, which I could tell you more about, but, um, so I wanna know what, what other questions, if I should just carry on and share the story or if you, I, I wanna hear it all.

What, really quickly, one of the things that popped into my head, that's an amazing story. You said you were 16 when you 16. What was it though that made you, um, [00:05:00] kind of wake up and have that kind of. Insight to say, to tell your mom, yes, I'm not gonna do this anymore. And to know that you were whole, like did something spark that or did you just kind of wake up with this new mindset?

So, yes, there's, you know, throughout my childhood years I've been exposed to many different elements of spirituality. Like, you know, exploring, uh, more the traditional African way of in nature and connecting with nature and how they relate to spirit in the divine. And then through my family. Mm. Was very Christian, so you know, reborn Christian, like charismatic Christian.

Um, and so first off of my life it was more conservative Christianity. Then we broke free from that and went into non-denominational, and it was more charismatic, which was, you know, um, so I became a reborn Christian at that time, and that's where I felt I was healed in the church. And that helped me with my revelation.[00:06:00]

Uh, but even that journey. Because, you know, religion, it's very interesting, my experience with, uh, my spirituality and religion throughout my life and what I've been exposed to and each place has had. Its how it's served me and helped with my healing. So that helped me at that time. But then, you know, as what I've come to learn.

At this stage of my life is whenever anything is proposed or you've seen and it's, and it has these constructs, it's limiting. So I had to even evolve and grow and transform from that where you know, you, you believe something to be a certain way, and then you have another experience, another near death experience or experience of loss that's traumatic to push you to the next level where everything is open and can be.

Acquired from a different angle in different ways to expand that limiting [00:07:00] belief or that or your consciousness. So that happened for me. So I moved from that. So later in life, you know, I was, um, I lost, um, my mother very dramatically. Mm-hmm. And then my first born being first born, I, well, I had a second trimester stillbirth.

And I lost my wellness center, like all at the same time. I had a big wellness center and, um, all these losses just brought me back to question a lot of things. So then I actually questioned my re religion and then I went more into approaching spirituality and the divine from a shamanic. Perspective. So that shifted things for me, again to where I'm now and and kind of more rooted in the ancient ways of practicing and connecting with the divine.

So it's just these ebbs and flows through life.

So for those who might not be familiar with Shamanism, can you explain it a little bit and [00:08:00] how it plays a role in your healing work? So it's more of an animistic approach, so it's believing that everything. Uh, that we connect to has spirit and energy and, um, it's, it's rooted in the ancient ways. So the Quin, uh, ways, which is Native American ways, native American, um, spirituality and I, I trained under Native American the MikMak tribe elders.

So for eight, nine years, just learning their ways that they connect to nature. So it's really referring to God. As, or the Holy Ghost as Spirit, right? So there is this belief in God or something greater and bigger than us, and then everything else is a, is part of that and a reflection of that. So, you know, the water, the, the trees, the, the birds, the everything and everything is messengers of God or the Great Spirit and you relate and [00:09:00] connect with that.

So it's just, I just find it's a much more. Uh, innocent and, and pure and untainted, uninhibited, not, not an indoctrinated way of connecting with God and the divine and spirit. So, um, that's just something that resonated with me because I've always been such a earth body. Like I just love connecting with the earth and I'm, I'm just so love being in nature and it just always.

Resonated more to me than the other ways these concepts was presented to me. Because there's different ways of relating to these concepts and it's, I think for us to find our own truth is really what resonates and is aligned with us. And what makes, like you said before, what makes us feel alive and that yes gets presented in in different ways.

And what works for one person doesn't work for another. [00:10:00] It's so beautiful. It's amazing that, you know, when you shared your story earlier, a lot of tragedies, a lot of, a lot of things that you mentioned that just one of those things might cripple someone, but it's led you to this beautiful place in your life.

Um, so. How, how do you work with people, like other people that are going through similar things or feeling that way? How do you work with them from the standpoint of the shamanism work that you do, or the pilgrimages, which I want you to, you know, kind of share. Um, how do you typically work with someone who may, may be starting in that, that dark place?

How do you bring them to where you are today? So, you know, there's different ways. Again, it's very intuitively led. So for what works for the one person or what's the issue? And the one person is not the other. So I can support them physically. Right? Like, you know, is there, is there like neurotransmitters that they offer?

Do they need [00:11:00] to, uh, change their diet and lifestyle? You know, there's all those things that can have a huge impact on how we feel Sure. And how we move through life. Um, but then there's like. What energetic blocks are there? What, um, suppressed traumas or unhealed grief or suppressed grief, what other, you know, how, what's their relationship with their inner child and their shadow self?

And, you know, I, I do archetypal explorations, so it's like in depth psychology. Um, the y yian psychology, but I work through it, um, from a. You know, working with a nru, because I'm a nru medicine woman, which is my spiritual lineage that I practice in Shamanism, relating to cism, which is the ancient ways of ancient spirituality in Egypt.

Right. So that's just been something that's always, it's my soul's work, so. Mm-hmm. So relating to these themes, again, that can be pulled through any [00:12:00] religion, um, and it can be pulled through in-depth psychology and young, and psychology because it's archetypes. You know, looking at these, the Egyptian pantheon.

It's like these different archetypes, which is really different aspects of ourselves. Yes. That takes the whole, so when one aspect of ourselves is out of balance, it can, it can cause a certain rippling effect. And then we need to bring another side of us more into balance or accentuate that more and lessen the others.

So it's like working just in these, um. Balancing these aspects of ourselves and like, and, and supporting what the strengths that we wanna support and, and not shaming or condemning the parts, the shadow parts of ourselves that no longer serves us. It's just. You know, having appreciation for the lessons learned and the place where it did serve us to bring us where we go because it's helping us survive certain things.

So this is what I've learned. I mean, [00:13:00] certainly I'm in another transitional phase. I, I expressed two big ones, but I've been going through a very nasty divorce for the last, um, two years. Um, sorry. After being married for 22 years. Wow. And, you know, um, so it's, it's um, you know, you learn a lot about yourself and you have to pull on all these, uh, you know, all the support systems that you can get because everything falls apart.

You know, you have these, we call it traumatic death experiences, that's just what we call it, but it's like these life changing experiences that, so. Pivotal in your life, so transformative and then it just breaks everything up and now you need to build yourself again. But you know, when you do the inner work throughout, this is what I've noticed, and you specifically ask me how I work with people.

So obviously I'll get intuitive guidance. I'll do a shamanic journeying with [00:14:00] them, you know, with sound healing, and I get information as to how best they sh will be supported or what direction to take them in what, what blocks to clear. It could be things that are clear energetically, but then there's, you know, we talk about it too.

We explore it, journaling. And then, um, and it's a process. It's definitely a journey. And then the other journeys, which my mentor that was leading pilgrimages for 30 years, she used to say two weeks in Egypt is like 20 years of therapy because you go, you know, and you know, we've just been on a, you know, retreat together in, in Mexico, in, uh, in October.

And the thing is, we. You know, you go deep, you go very deep, you know, and you just rip off the layers. So two weeks in Egypt and with all those energetic portals, um, you know, and all that mysteries, you know, you just have to come and be open. But, and then, you know, it's the [00:15:00] container, how it's held in order to just unfold and, and explore these themes.

So it's just saying yes to the journey. Mm-hmm. There's so much I wanna unpack in just what you said. Um, so starting with, we're talking a lot about energy and I've learned from Tecan and just the last recent years that energy is real. It is absolutely real. But for the skeptics out there, any anything that you would share that to maybe help them understand the power of energy and how it can evolve and work in your life?

Well, I mean, an easy example is, and you can try this for, for a day, right? If you keep saying the day, you know, let's say that day you keep saying, I feel sick. I feel sick. I'm not feeling well, you're not gonna feel well that day, but if you start saying, I feel great, you know, even if you don't fully say you, you, you feel great.

But if you start saying [00:16:00] that the energy will shift and it will change us, and you feel great and just what you're doing now, look at that beautiful smile. So just look at your smile, right? I'm gonna start smiling too. And this is mirror neurons, right? It's mirror neurons, so it's just energy's contagious as well.

So if somebody's feeling very weighed down, heavy, negative, and you, you come around their energy, you're gonna start feeling like that. You know, you have to be very grounded and secure and hold space for that not to affect you. Or have some cleansing prac and grounding practices. But if you round that all the time, and you see this with people that work with, you know, work that's kind of like very taxating emotionally.

Yes. How could affects them emotionally. But you know, if you are just around, okay, well, you know, kids can be draining, but you know, like, you know, like people that work with animals and so on, it's just like, you know, it's like. [00:17:00] Happy. And it's not this, that it affects them, it's that energy that gets transferred.

So, I mean, there's so many different examples because we are mostly energy, you know? Yes. What between is energy. So we are mostly energy. I. And that's why our thoughts, what we eat, who we spend time with, what we think about, all of that affects us and even sound healing. So that's why I went into sound healing because meditation was hard for me to switch off my brain.

I'm, I'm an academic and, you know, studied many years and lectured and was in academia. So I, um, it's hard for me to switch off my brain to be quiet. So sound healing. Yeah, and sound healing actually helps and force you to do that because it's, and that's why sound has been used. For all these centuries and eons in, um, religious practices, in temples and mosques, and all the sounds are [00:18:00] being used because it brings you to that, uh, meditative, transcendental, like transient place, um, for you to have altered body experience to go to a higher level.

Hmm. And I will add that energy doesn't lie. And you know, in human design, um, we talk about how your energy shows up before you do. I mean, it travels across, um, time. And you know, sometimes when you're, someone walks in a room, you feel their energy first. You can have a big smile on your face, but if you are in a dark place, that energy is going to, is going to tell on you.

Um. And animals. You, you mentioned animals, they can sense your vibrations, they can tell, they can feel your fear. Um, they, they understand from that standpoint. So it's just, it's, it's so, so powerful. But, um, I wanted you to talk a little bit about Egypt. I mean, you are from South Africa. You live in. [00:19:00] Re Bermuda now, which is amazing.

You mentioned two weeks there is, is like 20 weeks of therapy. Talk a little bit about that. Two weeks of therapy. Yes, so I, you know, through doing my shamanic studies, we, we had to do ancestral journeying where you journey to your ancestors and what, you know, spiritual practices, they, they impart and, and then you have your teachers in shamanism from whichever.

Um, lineage they come from. So I had like, uh, Quin, which is Native American. Then I had also. Ecuadorian and Celtic, but then, and my, my bloodline both as Indian, but then also Romanian and um, uh, Germanic. But then you have your spiritual lineage, so that's like your bloodline, ancestral, but then you have your spiritual lineage.

So we would journey and you'll get informed of like, what's your spiritual lineage? Mm-hmm. So for me, all these shamanic tools, we made [00:20:00] all the. Hypnotherapy and the journeys that I've had and visualizations and dreaming, everything came up. Egypt. Egypt, like chance, uh, tools I made everything. I was like, okay, well there's something here and I've always had an interest in it.

Let me go there. So, I don't know, it was probably seven years ago. I went there for the first time. On, on a pilgrimage, uh, with some of my goddess teachers, uh, that I've done goddess work with, and facilitation and, um, priestess facilitation. And then, you know, it was just clear. It was just clear. I have many past lives there.

This is the work I'm meant to be doing, you know, at a very, uh. Very transformative experience with sme, which is the, she's the lion goddess. Um, so, so yeah. It's just, and it was just, I just [00:21:00] got the message when I was there. This is what you're meant to be doing. This is your soul's work and when I'm in Egypt, you know your questions about where you feel truly alive.

I feel alive in Egypt. I'm like, I look 10 years younger. I'm like, yeah. I'm like totally in my element there like it's like it's my soul essence. It's expressed there. Like I feel my happiest there. I'm just, I feel uninhibited. I'm just, my, my soul expression. There's no limitations on me. I just, and I, and I have, I carry the heart of Egypt.

Like, it's like, it's just the way I embody that frequency and the way I carry it and the way I relate to it and the people there. It's just, it's just something that's interwoven in my soul or, and, and in my being. So, so, yeah, I just listen to the calling. Do you find that the women that join you or I, maybe men, is it all women?

Men, [00:22:00] okay. No, no. It's men. Men and women? Yes. Okay. Mm-hmm. Do you, do you find that they have a similar experience or is this kind of unique to you because of the, the calling and your connection? Well, I mean, not everyone's called. To do this type of work in Egypt. Egypt's not sure. By all means, no easy place.

And actually it's a very transformative place. So if you, if you do decide to do this work. Let me tell you, it throw your life upside down. Like you get hard lessons and it's at, it's hard. It's hard, it's, it's very confrontational. So Egypt has this beautiful, magical energy, but it has a very confrontational energy too, and you have to be able to move and weave through all those energies.

And actually, that's all that comes up when you're there. So if it's not facilitated and held on the right way in a. In, uh, in a way of integrity and an understanding of the [00:23:00] energy, you can have a very traumatic experience. Actually, that tour, that first pilgrimage that I was on, granted, I knew why I was there.

My intent was very clear, so I didn't have the same experience as the other women, but that we were 24 women. And because the facilitators weren't experienced or didn't understand the energy and was very much still in their own journey of their own egos. Uh, most of the women on there were severely traumatized.

Really, they, most of them never wanna return to I Egypt. Wow. So it's really, it's really something that you have to, because so much comes up when you're there. Really sure. Like so much draw, it just rips you open. Like again, depending on how you move through Egypt, like you can go through E, you can go to Egypt just from a tourist lens and it'll be like, oh wow, this is fascinating and this is beautiful.

It's so interesting all that. But that's not really, [00:24:00] yeah, that's not, no. There's so much more to it, but when you go through it, you're gonna feel it's like birth. I said I was a birth worker and I said, I birth is the metaphor for life. You experience everything in a birth, right? If you do a, you experience ecstasy, joy, bless.

Then there's pain and you're fearful, and then there's like all this, it's, it's all of it. So Egypt is all of it. It's all of the human experience. And, and when you move through it, it's how you're being held. When you move through it, how can you process it because it's so fast. You're going through it so quickly.

And then the integration of it. Afterwards, so much afterwards, it's like, okay, now the bandaids are ripped off. I have this experience, but it's the, the integration of that now and how do I apply it to my life? And that's why I have a mystery school too, because, [00:25:00] and I work with, with people through this energies because then they're like, okay, well what does that mean now?

And what do I do with that now? You know, they had this amazing, profound experience. Things shifted. On all levels, but what do they do with that now? Or it opens something up and they need deeper processing of that work. So, so yeah, it, it, it's very, so, so to get to back to your question, not everybody is called to do that.

It, it takes a lot of experience and skillset to hold that, uh, frequency meaning, and, and be able to guide people to navigate it in a. In a balanced way that they can come out with a positive, with, with a good experience from it that can be applied to their life. And then other people, everyone that I take, they have an experience there.

And for everyone that looks very different. You know, for me, every time I go there, whether I go with a group or alone, I generally go alone without a group by [00:26:00] myself or my own experience too, so I can drop in deeper. And I visit the same temples each time, and I have a different experience at each temple.

Again, because it just brings you to another layer of it. People are like, uh, don't you get bored of this? Like, I, I, I go three, four times a year to Egypt, and I'm like, no, I, I don't. Every time I go, there's something new, there's another lesson. Then I come back home, then something falls apart again, and then I'm building up something else.

Like huge, huge shifts has happened, so. And that's what people, and again, for everybody that comes back, it looks different. They may change their job, change their partner, change something, their life starts something new. Um, you know, so it just comes and, and it looks different for each, each person. If you are feeling stuck in a career that pays the bills but doesn't light you up, or if you've ever secretly wondered whether it's too late to do work, you actually love [00:27:00] and make great money without the hustle, this one's for you. I think that's the beauty of retreats versus going on a vacation. Yeah. It really depends on who your, your guide is. Mm-hmm. As you just mentioned. And those stories. And also you have to be called to it 'cause you have to be ready to do the work. Yes. You know, when you think of a retreat, you think of just relaxation and sometimes that's exactly what you're signing up for and that's what you get.

But for these kind of transformative journeys, you have to be really willing to be just open. Um. Be ready to, to step through what it is that you're there to, to step through. But one of the things you mentioned, and I wonder how you feel about this, you've shared so much about, again, I'll go back to that word, tragedies, things that have happened or that are happening in your life.

When I hear you talk about this and I see the who you are today [00:29:00] and the person, it's, it's, it's made you, become, would you agree that maybe there are gifts. And some if, if you are open to it and everything that you go through, there's some kind of gift there. There's some reason you are stepping through this.

It's there's a reason why your world is just being broken down and you have to kind of rebuild. Yeah, absolutely. That's why we say the mantra that I have is everything is happening for me. Yes. Not to me. For me, that's what, yeah, that's what I remind myself when I'm in one of those moments where I'm just like, oh, wow, wow.

I can't believe it. What's going on? Everything's just falling apart and I'm, I'm still in that right now. Yes, I'm continue. You continuously have to remind yourself because it's easy once you, in the, you have to get to the eye of the storm once you, like when you're being thrown around in the storm, it's hard for you to see.

The lessons, it's hard for you to see how this is benefiting you [00:30:00] because you're just in the fields, right? You're just in, you are just in the how, how hard it is right now. But within that, you know, because this is the ebbs and the flows, you know, when we, when we expand and contract. Within that we have a, and, and it's like contractions when you're giving birth, you know, you have this, it's painful and it's hard, and you're like, oh, where is this contraction gonna end?

But then you have a respite and then it's like, oh wow, okay. And then you go maybe into the ecstasy or whatever of it, and you feel bliss and you feel close to the creator, and then it's like that again. Mm-hmm. So it, it's, I, I will just use that and I mean, to birth, that's such a transformative experience as well.

Um, so it's, it's in that and, and it's only really after we've gone through it that we can truly, fully appreciate the lessons and the shifts and the changes that's occurred when, when you in it, it's really hard to see that. But that's why it's so important to be surrounded with supportive community [00:31:00] because they can reflect to you and when you do certain practices, they can reflect to you just.

Already how much you have changed? I mean, even when we were together in Mexico, um, you know, I was reminded of courage. Right? Right. And I, and that here, like what? You know, how did I show up for myself in a courageous way, like facing a fear? Just in that here and just actually taking note of that and doing like a little mini audit of that.

You are like, oh, wow, just look at how much I've moved through already. And what I've accomplished already and where I'm at already because we, it's, it's all about being in the journey and not set on the destination. Because if we keep thinking about, I will already wanna be on the other side and I've gained the lessons and be stable and be secure and know what my life is gonna look like, that we actually miss out just in the present moment.

The gift that there is, because there is gift and [00:32:00] beauty. And a lesson just in the moment, like you can have a challenging moment and the next moment can just, because this is the thing about energy, it's con, it never stays the same. It's continuously shifting. So you can be in that hardship and the next, very next minute, it's beautiful and there's a beautiful experience and then it's like that again.

And then it's, so, it shifts the whole time. Beautiful. I, I completely, completely agree. Um, so. I guess let's talk a little bit about the limiting beliefs. Um, so much of healing, as we've just talked about, is about releasing those limiting beliefs and embracing a new way of thinking. What advice do you have for someone who's struggling with negative thought patterns that keep them stuck?

Well, it's really to, to question it too. It's asking good questions like what? Like, because actually we lie to ourselves. We believe that to be true. Yes. So if you start really questioning [00:33:00] like, what, why do I believe that to be true? What? What has given me the impression that that's true? Is that really true?

And you start unpacking that belief, that statement that you tell yourself, that you run in your mind, you then start to realize, but it's really actually not true. And then something that I do whenever anybody. It gives me like, let's say a compliment or comment that kind of contradicts that limiting belief.

I make a note of it because it's also the universe spirit telling us, okay, listen, like you tell yourself this, but this is really the truth because this is how other people see you. So I just remind myself because we all do that, right? We all, um. Tend to, we run these, these, these things that we were told when we were growing up, you know, where it stuck with us and it becomes like a broken record and we run it in our mind.

But the best way is also to quiet the mind because then when you quiet the mind, then you stop listening to [00:34:00] that. So the one thing is to question that and then to show yourself through your reality and how the universe is expressing that that's not true. Through your interaction with other people and the way they see you, you can reiterate and remind yourself what you truly like.

And then also just the nature is just to be with that and give that over. And acknowledge that, you know, like, um, because there's a certain part of yourself that believe that. And we need to give that attention to, like, let's say it was a younger self, younger part of yourself. You know, like it was 10-year-old child that, you know, this is something they heard from one of their parents.

You know, it's sort of like being with that 10-year-old part of yourself and being like, you know, I know you heard this, and maybe that's something that they heard and they just said it out of, because that's something that they, their parents used to tell them that wasn't true for them neither. And you know, I know this, you have like a little [00:35:00] conversation with yourself and giving yourself attention and affection and.

And, and just being with yourself, um, giving yourself some comfort. So I find that helpful. And then whatever emotions arise, just to be with that emotions fully. Like if it brings up, you know, anger or sadness, it's just to be with the sadness fully, because we just wanna oppress it, we wanna talk about it, we wanna just get through it, do something that takes it away.

But the only way to really take away is to actually be fully with it. So it's not so much the statement or what's being said to us or what's being done with us, it's that trigger of that emotion and bringing and just sitting and being with that emotion, whether it's sadness or fear or whatever, and just moving through it, like actually feeling it fully.

And I do that by being in nature and lying on the ground and just crying and giving it to the ground like fully [00:36:00] mm. And then afterwards. You move through it and you feel so much better and then you can carry on and you can have an amazing, beautiful day. Exa, I think so much we don't, we're afraid to fill our emotions and there's so much wisdom in our emotions and I think a lot of times, as you said, you have to just go through it.

You have to honor that you're filling that. And typically when you do that, you do realize that it releases versus ignoring it and it stays trapped, you know, in the body. Um, so. Is it possible for you to do a little bit of sound healing for us today? Of course, of course. Lemme sip of water. Absolutely. I'll do the same.

That's another thing, drinking a lot of water.

The key. Yeah. And water's energy. You can put a word and kind of like put energy in your water. You can put a word. And put it onto the water and it infuses [00:37:00] into the water. So whatever word feeling you wanna provoke or um, you know, positive, you know, positive word you wanna align with, you can put it on top of a clear glass container and it will infuse into the water.

I, I love it. I, I'll take, go a step further. I will speak, um, I will talk into my water. I will say things like Hill or, you know, something positive because I can't remember his name. Is it Dr. Emoto or Dr. Um, who did the, the study where he literally did exactly what we're talking about. He spoke words that are beautiful to water, and then ugly, harsh, negative words.

And then when the water froze. You could see the difference. Some look like beautiful snowflakes, but the ones where he said things like sick or disease, or it was distorted and I mean, and we are made up of 70 or 80% of water, so it's. Your thoughts, your words, it all, it, it matters. Mm-hmm. [00:38:00] Yeah. So that's why we resonate with that.

That has a frequency and the same with sounds. So that's why, because we mostly water. Yes. Um, you know, our thoughts, the words and the sounds it all. Impacts us. It's called force resonance. So we able to, you know, it affects us whether we believe it or not. Exactly. Exactly. Alright, so what, what are we, what are you gonna gift us with?

Okay, well I'm gonna just do two things. I'm gonna take out my hard ball. It's my rose chord, so it's a rose chords practitioner ball. Wow. And it is, um, it is F sharp, so this is the high heart. Um, so this is the high heart. So this is our heart chakra. So this is where we lead from love and instead of the monkey brain, the mind, this is where we need to lead from, right?

Mm-hmm. So this is good for healing the heart emotions and just feel more at [00:39:00] peace. So, and, and, and then another, instead of saying, oh. You know, which brings you very much to the pineal gland. And the third eye is, is to do ma So ma is the mother frequency, the chant, ma. So we can do that together. I'll, I'll lead us into it.

Okay. Um, yeah. So I'll just play that a little bit, do a little vocal toning, and then I have a couple of chimes because the reason why I brought them out today is because when you do visualize guided visualizations or use sound, you can easily use that to take you to a place. You know, you were asking questions about places that you feel most alive and at home in.

So it takes you to those places when you were a young child and you were like in the forest and you were amongst the flowers, collecting things, and so, mm-hmm. Sounds wonderful. So I'm just gonna ask maybe to just mute yourself while I do just this part, because then sometimes there's like a loop.

[00:40:00] Absolutely. Okay. I'm gonna mute. Okay. Okay.

So just start breathing into your hard space,

and you can see a color, you know that warm pink, comforting color.

And as the sun sets and the tones and the sky starts changing and it becomes that soft, pink, soft purples. So just connect with that, feel that frequency and energy, that softness, it's all about us softening. Softening in our thoughts

and our beliefs. Everything we feel convicted in. It just starts to soften, soften with our criticism about ourselves and others. It always starts with ourselves.[00:41:00]

And just to breathe. We always have that breath. So now you can connect with the heart space, and now you can just breathe out fully first. Release all that heaviness, grief, heavy feelings. Just breathe it out. 'cause when we fully breathe out and you can use a sound as well to breathe out, it's only when we fully release that we can take in the new.

You can take in a deeper breath once you fully exhale. So just do that for a few breaths, just deeply exhale. First,

you can make a sound and then you wanna take a new deep breath in. Breathing in from the ground, from Mother Nature. All that healing, nourishing energy and feel it [00:42:00] going up all your chakras right up. To your head and going around your body,

you just feel how everything relaxes in your body, where you felt tension before your mind starts quieting, whatever you were thinking of before is no longer relevant.[00:43:00] [00:44:00]

You can just imagine yourself in a forest or not feel the flowers playing.[00:45:00]

Inquisitive, mind, curious mind.

Hopeful, innocent, imaginative,

playful,

creating, constantly creating, imagining. And that's just that energy of endless possibilities and beauty and love and smiles and happiness and joy and ecstasy.

And once you have that and you have an anchor for that, you can return to that anytime you feel you need to.[00:46:00]

Now just one, um, last, um, just a chant is like the mar. The mar. So instead of o you're gonna do mar and that's that mother frequency. It's very nourishing and grounding and centering, but from a hard space.

And you can do it with me too, um, and you can unmute and do it with me. Um.[00:47:00]

Now you can just sit quietly for this minute and just feel how that feels, how it shifted.

Yeah, it's powerful. Oh my. I hope that people that are listening in felt what I felt [00:48:00] because it literally went through me, like my whole body was alive. My heart felt like it was just, it was overwhelmed in a, in a good way, in a beautiful way. I definitely got my beautiful fix for. For the week. That was absolutely beautiful.

Your voice, the, um, the rose quartz, which I've never seen a rose quartz, um, healing bowl. That was amazing. And then the chimes, it was, it's just too much. It's too much. And that's just a little, because you know, when you do a full soundscape or sound bath, you know, there's many instruments and you literally go on a hypnotic journey.

And I use this. When I go to the temples, because each temple have a frequency and you know, we use our voices and chants and sounds and it just, uh, amplifies that energetic exchange that download the initiation that you get. So it's um, you know, it becomes alive there, you know, [00:49:00] in the temples. Ah, it's beautiful.

Well, I'm going to, in a, in a moment, um, let you tell everyone how they can connect with you and hear more about this. But before we wrap up, let's have a little fun with the speed round of beautiful fixed questions. Mm-hmm. Are you ready? Yes, I'm ready. Alright. So what makes you come alive? Mm. Swimming naked.

Oh, oh, okay. Yes. Skinny dipping. I love it in any body of water, whether it's the ocean, a lake, a waterfall. I love it. Are we, are we doing this by ourselves or just doesn't matter who's watching? It doesn't matter who's watching, I generally do it by myself, but you know, I've done it on, you know, retreats too before.

So, you know, it depends on the occasion, but mostly, mostly by [00:50:00] myself. But that's when I feel most alive to be that uninhibited. That's beautiful. Yeah. What, what is your favorite song? My favorite song is Birds Flying High. You know how I feel Song in the sky? You know how I feel? I'm oh my gosh.

That song has so much meaning for me. When my father passed, um, 17 years ago, we played that at his, um, funeral, his services. It was a beautiful way to me, uh, to reframe death. And the way we think about it, you know, the, the, the, the words have a different meaning when you think about it. Just the idea that you are free when that time comes, you are free.

Um, favorite book [00:51:00] is Woman Who Runs With the Wolves. Yeah, this has been on my list forever. Okay. All right. Amazon. Here I come. That has been on my list forever, and I talk myself out it. It's a bible. It's like a Bible. You could read it many times and there'll always be new insights. Okay. All right. Getting it today.

All right. Favorite movie out of Africa? Mm. So I have never seen that. You were the second person that has mentioned that movie. Yeah. Yeah. I love a good Meryl Streep movie, so. I'm in. Favorite quote or affirmation? Okay, so it's actually from Man Diba, um, Nelson Mandela. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.

The brave man is not, he who does not, uh, feel afraid, but he who, um, conquered that fear. [00:52:00] Hmm. So that was, that's, uh, one that really resonates, you know, he was a very inspiration, inspirational leader for, for South Africa. Absolutely. His story is, he's a perfect example of a mind shift. You know, again, the idea that he being imprisoned all those years could even dream.

Mm-hmm. You know, that he, he could eventually do what he ended up. It's, it's just. Yeah, it's, it's amazing. And I get, I get emotional because I, you know, my, that's how my family came to South Africa. My ninth great grandmother was a Indian slave on the Dutch trave slope, and she was stationed at Robin Island, um, in the 60, late 16 hundreds.

So she, uh, was first at the Cape of Good Hope, hope, and then went to Rob Island. So it's just, uh, the history [00:53:00] of, of that in South Africa. And then she later did become free, set free and married the first black man that was set free in South Africa. Um, so it was really, yeah. Yeah. So it's, um. It's quite a beautiful, my sister did all our lineage and historical connections, so it was very interesting.

South Africa's very dynamic. Okay, so that's a whole nother podcast. We're gonna have to have you back on to just uncover that at the end. That is ama, that's an, I'm sure that's an amazing story. Yeah. Yeah. So my sister and I have gone to Cape Town to pay tributes and stuff to where she was held cap captive and so on.

Wow. South India. Yeah. Yeah.

Well, your favorite place to recharge. My favorite place to recharge and actually of the lingle is, is in upstate New York. I have, um, [00:54:00] land that I do shamanic work and healings and rewilding retreats on, and it's monse land, so it's pro protected sacred land. I, you know. Board up some land to not have it developed and um, and to share and keep it.

But that's one of my favorite places to recharge. It's in the woods, you know, it's, um, a forest and you know, it has a lake and yeah, I just love that environment. But that's a great place to get recharged. It sounds like it. Okay. And we will include those links for sure. So people can check that out. Um, and what's your guilty pleasure actually?

I love, and I know it's a, probably it's a mineral deficiency, but I love tasting, tasting soil. And eating soil, you know, like just a little bit when I was craving it a lot with my pregnancy, with my son. Really? [00:55:00] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I love the smell of soil, like wet soil, like in South Africa after rainfall.

Just that smell. It's intoxicating. It's just like, I don't know, it's just has this, it just pulls me in. It's like so invigorating. That is amazing. That's a new one for the books. I, that's the first I, time I've heard that one. Wow. That's so interesting. 'cause my dog has recently started to, every time I let him outside, he, he tries to eat the dirt.

And I was looking that up and they said exactly that. It's probably a mineral. Mm-hmm. Uh, deficiency. You know, the thing is, I, where are you doing this? The reason why I say that is because unfortunately we have done so much to Mother Earth and to our soil. Mm-hmm. Where are you finding this rich? Unsoiled soil?

Well, generally when I go walking in the woods and Mm. Okay. That and so on. So, yeah. And, um, yeah, I mean the, the mineral deficiency too [00:56:00] is because the soil is deficient too. Yes. Suffer deficient. So yes. It's just hard to, to get foods that's still minerally dense, you know, just because of the way we've Yeah.

Messed up the whole system. That's, again, that's another podcast right there. But, um, well, Kathia, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us today, your approach and healing and transformation. It's truly inspiring. Um, so where can our listeners connect with you and learn more about your healing work and programs?

So, you know, a, a good place is Frequency Alchemist, which is my Instagram handle. Okay. Um, so I did share that with you. I know you'll be putting it into the, uh, links and, um, you know, have my link tree there that links up to all my retreats, my pilgrimages, you know. Um, so I have coming up in the springtime and in the, it's usually spring and [00:57:00] fall.

And, and then I have, um. Also a mystery school, so I have a link for that too. So it's like a self-paced program just on the temples that takes you through this archetypal exploration. I do the sound healing and those inner reflective questions. Everything we talked about today, it's what I would do with individuals if they coach with me as well.

They can start coaching with me individually too, or do a, do that self-based program. I will be. Um, late spring be, uh, launching a group program as well, a six month program, um, which is more like a coaching program. And then I have my sound healing album as well, which is, uh, also in the link provided, which is, I channeled the sound of each of those temples.

So it's more of like a, a sound journey that takes you somewhere. Um, so I have that in the links that I've shared with you as well. And then my [00:58:00] main website is dr katia.com. Um, that they can just le learn of all these things. Wonder. And that's D-R-K-A-T-H-I a.com. Dot com. Yeah. And then that's my at handle, that's beyond my, uh, you know, my name in the window.

In the picture window is my, my Instagram handle. Wonderful. Yes. Wonderful. Awesome. Well thank you so much. Please go check out her website and follow her. As you can tell from just today's conversation, she's a beautiful soul and has so much, so much to share. Thank you. And on Facebook, I'm so with Dr. Katia PhD.

Wonderful. Alright. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. And I had a great time. It was wonderful. Do. [00:59:00]
