A Beautiful Fix

Can We Just Not Today? What to do when your week is just… a lot.

Tracy Hill Season 1 Episode 13

I LOVE hearing from you! Drop me a text! 💬

I didn’t want to record this one—not because I didn’t care, but because I wasn’t ready to pretend I was okay.

It’s been a heavy week. The kind where the world feels too loud, your chest feels tight, and even beauty feels hard to find.

But maybe this is exactly when we need to show up.
Not polished. Not perfect. Just real.

In this episode, I open up about the tenderness of being human when life feels overwhelming… and share what’s been helping me stay grounded (spoiler: it’s not pretending I’m fine).

This is a permission slip to be messy, sensitive, raw—and still full of hope.

Can We Just Not Today? What to do when your week is just… a lot.

[00:00:00]

I am gonna be honest with you, I didn't wanna record this episode, not because I didn't wanna show up, but because I wasn't ready to pretend that I was. Okay. It's been a heavy week in the world. There's a weight in the air and energy, and maybe you felt it too, in your chest and your nervous system. In your soul.

I almost didn't hit record. I almost stayed quiet, but then I remembered [00:01:00] this is why I created a beautiful fix. Not for the polished days, not for the perfect moments, the perfect sunshiny blue days. No, but for this, the weeks when things feel like too much. When it's hard to find the beauty, and yet somehow we still try when the world feels anything but kind.

Maybe the most beautiful fix is just letting yourself be raw. Just letting the rawness stay instead of covering it up. I'm not okay. And I hesitated showing up with this energy because I created a beautiful fix to put good energy into the world. So forgive [00:02:00] me, but I want it to show up anyway because this podcast is also about being real, about showing up as I am.

Because this has never been about perfection or I've got it all figured out. Energy. No. So I'm here extremely vulnerable, but here I'm a real person on the other side of this mic. I, I wonder if you've been feeling it too. I know. I know. You have heartache, fear, exhaustion. I will share how it's been showing up for me because maybe someone else is feeling this too, and I do hope that you'll consider reaching out to me if any of this resonates with you to help me feel less alone in all of this.[00:03:00]

See, I've learned to protect my energy. I am highly sensitive. I always have been. As a little girl, my dad used to worry that the world would chew me up and spit me out if I didn't grow thicker skin, and he was right to worry because I can't handle most things. One of the reasons I seek out beautiful things and moments so intentionally is because I have to.

I can't handle cruelty in any form. Never, never have been able to. So Friday was this beautiful day. I interviewed Christina Pater. She's the author of one of my favorite books. You'll Meet Her In a Future Podcast episode. I invited two amazing women who are doing amazing things in the world to be on the podcast, and they said, yes.

I let a human design session and I watched someone [00:04:00] light up as they rediscovered. Who they are. And then one of my sons came home from college for a visit and we spent the evening catching up as a family. Just a perfect day.

But then I tapped back into the world,

read what was happening, and that was it. Restless sleep, anxious morning. I just crashed it. Everything just feels so out of my control. So I started focusing on what is in my control. First, I just had to let myself feel the feelings.

Then I reach for the things that help me stop the spiral. The momentum that [00:05:00] builds when you just allow yourself to, to sit in your thoughts. And for me it's always music. Music, beautiful, beautiful music, and a lot of deep breaths. Just allowing myself to slow down in general,

you know,

you don't have to push through. You don't have to be okay. You just have to stay human, stay present, stay kind. And you know, I'm wondering, uh, what if choosing to feel, even when it's hard, isn't weakness, but wisdom? There's so much noise out there right now, and honestly, I don't always know what to do with it, but I know the answer isn't more noise.

Maybe it's the [00:06:00] pause, the breath, the honest little truth that rises up. When we stop pretending we're fine. That's where the shift starts.

So here's my invitation to you this week. It's not a challenge, it's not a fix. Just something to sit with if it feels right to you. What is one thing that still makes you feel connected to your humanity? Your heart, your hope. Is it a breath? A breath of fresh air outside? Maybe it's a quiet cry. A song.

That reminds you who you are or memory. For some it might be a prayer, [00:07:00] a moment of stillness, a, a walk outside in nature. Let that be your beautiful fix. Not to escape, but to remember. You don't have to save the world this week. Just be kind. Let someone feel seen, let someone feel loved, and that alone might be the most beautiful fix of all.
