Ian Colville
M. Ian Colville is the founder and Managing Partner of Carpathian Capital Management, an alternative asset manager specializing in U.S. residential real -estate development. Since launching the firm in 2012, Ian and his team have overseen more than $400 million in residential assets.
Ian’s career began in management consulting before he spent a decade in emerging-market investment banking. He served as Head of Equity Sales for both Deutsche Bank and Citigroup in Moscow, advising global institutional investors on Russian and CIS opportunities. This experience forged a unique perspective on risk management that he later applied to the U.S. real estate market.
Ian holds an MBA from Wharton, a master’s in International Studies from the Lauder Institute, and a BA in Economics from Carleton College . He is fluent in Russian and speaks regularly on risk management, private-fund liquidity, and the practical application of AI in asset management.
