Sometimes you don’t need a reason. You just need to bitch. 😂
In this episode of Thanks It’s the Trauma, we’re letting it all out and talking about the people, situations, habits, inconveniences, and random things that really irk our shit. No deep dives, no life lessons, no trying to find the root of the problem—just a good old-fashioned bitch session.
We’re talking petty complaints, everyday frustrations, things that make us roll our eyes, and whatever else has been getting on our last damn nerve lately. Basically, if it annoys us, irritates us, or makes us say “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!”—it’s fair game.
So sit back, grab your favorite drink, and bitch with us. Because sometimes you just have to get that shit off your chest. 😂
Thanks It’s the Trauma… and today, we’re just here to complain.
Hey best friend. Hey best friend. It's Wednesday, so you know it's time for another fresh ass episode of Thanks. It's the trauma. And of course, I'm Trina.
SPEAKER_00Hi Crystal. And it's this is the this is the bitch sesh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So last week we were getting back on track. This week, yeah, it's definitely gonna be a bitch session because what a week. So oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, current and I know we don't normally cover like current news or anything like that, but obviously our area, we had a I don't know what would you call it, an a media story because actually in your town. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01They found say her last name, and that's on me. Penit Penitier. Panetiere. Hayden Penetire. Yeah. Okay, the girl from uh Heroes and Nashville.
SPEAKER_00And that's what I and yeah, that's Heroes is what I remember her from because I did watch Nashville, but only the first maybe season.
SPEAKER_01So I really didn't know I've never seen it.
SPEAKER_00It was okay. It was kind of like a like a how do I describe it? It's kind of like a beer joint Dallas. Oh, but fancyer. I don't know. But they all sang it was kind of like Dallas or something was the vibe, like the the scandal and the the back and forth type of thing. Okay. But yeah, I I remember her from Heroes because she was the cheerleader and it was always save the cheerleader, but most people that are younger, they're like heroes, what's that? I'm like, how have you never heard of Heroes?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Like it I know it ran like 11 seasons, didn't it, or 10?
SPEAKER_01Something like that. It ran for a while. I only watched maybe like a couple of seasons before I got out of it, but I know there were a lot of super fans of that, and also Nashville, um, and a lot of fans of hers. And so for her to just pass away in my hometown, that became like a media frenzy around here.
SPEAKER_00And I'm gonna tell you Greenville County hopped on that. I've never, and I'm gonna say, like, whoever, when everything's said and done, whatever happens with it, I don't know if there'll be investigations or what, but just be known, that's not how things normally work here. Right. Yeah, I mean exactly, it's just not, and to me, it angers me a little bit because you see it can be done. You know what I'm saying? Like you see that people can react that fast and somebody I mean, you know what I'm saying? Like, but they don't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and that's why I I said what I said about I wish more people cared about sharing missing persons flyers that they did about celebrities. And I said what I said, and I stand on that.
SPEAKER_00And it's true, and it's like I get it, but at the same time, like she's no more human than you and I or anybody else, and exactly her life meant nothing more than any of ours, you know, they're all equal. And you know, like I was saying earlier, you know, we're coming up to a time now where like these actors better be running scared if they're not, man. I'm telling you, because they're getting replaced and it's easily done, and it's a fraction of the price. I mean, get real. You don't have to control them if they get out of pocket, you know, you don't have to zone them or try to do they are literally robotic actors that are literally they can make them look like anybody. You know what I'm saying? Like you could you're so everybody's replaceable in a working aspect, but you're so replaceable at the at this point in time if you're a celebrity actress, whatever. But you know, for that reason, and the other reason being that I mean, there's so many lower wrong famous people or known people just because of the internet, social media, you know, platforms, podcasts, whatever, influencers, whoever they are, whatever they do, you know, people follow them, you know, they're minor celebrities. It's I don't know, it kind of sounds like I'm stretching, but like it it thinks it makes me think like, what if we're you know, they talk about all the the social status thing, like the kind of like how China does, how your social standing matters and what you created in the world, and like it's almost like that was an episode of Black Mirror, too. That's what I was just gonna ask. If you had seen it, it's it's that vibe, it's that mm-hmm, that vibe, but it makes me think is this the beginning of it? Kind of, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like look how well they're already using AI for commercials and stuff, anyways. Like, you know, yeah that's streaming service friendly. It says that there, that it was made with AI. And I don't know if you've seen them, but those commercials for the casinos, the online casino slot machines.
SPEAKER_00Now I was watching uh a podcast yesterday and they were showing it like they were talking about something similar, and yeah, I mean it's just it's right there in your backyard. I don't know, like we I understand that there's no way we can go back in technology, like we're where we're at. You're not gonna go back. Anything they got now, they've had for a decade or better before they released anything. Come on now, they got something way bigger and better, whatever. Yeah, it's waiting and it's already there. But I mean, that doesn't mean us as society, that doesn't mean we have to just fucking play into everything. I mean, it's pretty obvious things there's a lot of mind control, yeah. And and just you know, I'm smart enough to know if I watch a couple videos, it's gonna change my algorithm. You know what I'm saying? But some people, especially people like our parents' age and stuff, I'm not saying they're stupid by far, but I mean they're not accustomed to this. You know what I'm saying? Like AI can be confusing, even for people our age and younger, sometimes you gotta kind of look at it a little bit and like and it's useful. It's it's useful. Just like I use it every day, right? They are you know, Google, what would you do without Google? Like, oh my god, it's the lifesaver. I don't I'm I'm not saying, oh my god, we don't need it. I don't think it should be impacting our relationships. Yeah, and it is, and it's you know, people are so quick to snap and say shit that they would never say to your face, you know, they're so quick to to jab not knowing a situation to make a comment. Yeah, it says comments, but I don't know, within reason, a non-useful comment. I mean, come on, what is that? It's like yeah, it's a moot point. You you you're wasting your fucking time at this point. Like you're you're going in here taking time out of your day to post these two sentences that are I oppose this. Well, good for you.
SPEAKER_01And guess what?
SPEAKER_00Right, right, right, right. And you thought I gave a shit, didn't you? Well, damn, you wasted that. And watch and watch me and watch me just continue live my fucking life and not think about you again. But yeah, it's just stuff like that. People are so quick to say that or a blanket statement.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, that's what goes back to what I was telling you about we were trying to re-home my dad's dog. He's had um Josh for 10 years, and through that.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry, that just makes me want to laugh because my husband is obviously named Josh.
SPEAKER_01And I just think I know, and this dog has a grown man's name of Josh. And he is a lover boy, he's a purebred white German shepherd. And when my dad had him, he lived with my sister and my brother-in-law, and Josh lived there too. Well, my dad had to move uh because he had first, then he had leukemia, and he wanted to be back in Kentucky where his VA and the doctors were and everything like that. So Josh stayed with my sister. Well, my sister has since passed away, right? And now he's just kind of hanging out at my brother-in-law's house, and we need to find him a new home. We just do. Um, so I posted him on Facebook to rehome, and of course, somebody else on Facebook decided to post right after that. Don't get a dog if you can't keep them for their whole life. And I'm thinking, are you kidding me? I don't think my dad didn't plan on getting leukemia. My sister wasn't planning on dying. You know, circumstances had changed. These are kind of life-changing circumstances.
SPEAKER_00Yes, life-changing. Yeah, you can't predict, and things happen. Right. Um things happen. And whose life are we talking about? Because I have a dog right now that you know, we obviously got from our good friend that passed away um the day that we found him. She was in the car on the way home. It wasn't even a question. Okay, well, he died. Sometimes older dogs need to be rehomed. You know what I mean? Like, and and that's just what it is.
SPEAKER_01And I think people that post that kind of shit are just so smug in that way because they don't know the circumstances. People that get puppies, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, puppies are like children. Children are destructive and they're not trained. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, puppies have a lot of energy, puppies make messes, puppies tear shit up, and I think a lot of people get them, and then when they get too much to handle, you know, here's this awkward, scrangly, you know, dog that is tearing everything up and is still half puppy and hasn't been trained shit. You know what I mean? You're probably gonna want to re-home it. That's that's different, yeah, to me. That's chucking responsibility. That's chucking, you know, you're not taking responsibility for your actions and your decisions and your choices and your commitments. That's different. This is not the same case.
SPEAKER_01It's not.
SPEAKER_00That's what I said, but people want to throw a blanket statement on there. Like she thought she was having some sort of public service announcement or something. Right. We know that. That's just like if you're outside smoking and somebody walks by and tells you to kill you is bad for you. I just get real. Nah, nah. I didn't know. Right. I didn't know. Like we've only been told that 400 times. You know, I I just I get tired of that kind of shit. It's just like people will take time to say something smart ass, or where they think they're being a better person and saying the things and whatever, or they just completely fucking ignore you in general.
SPEAKER_01Or they just think that they have the right-of-way on everything, like they're in the right no matter what.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Yeah, and that goes along with, like I'm saying, like we okay, you look at COVID, you know, the world, everybody can say that. I don't care who you are, where you live, whatever, continental United States, I can promise you, your life looks different than it did. But for it just does, and it and it always will. Like, even I mean, just practical things, places closed, new stuff came in, like it was that type of thing, you know. But then when they released all this stuff, the freedom of information stuff that came out a while back, you know, with like the F-word dude. Total to say his name. I hate him. I know. I hate him. But anyway, they admitted that we could have been the whole six-foot rule was just a construct. Yeah, it was it wasn't saving anybody. No, they said we would have had to bend something like three football fields apart, yeah, which is physically impossible for the world population. We couldn't do that. So we were at no greater risk sitting at our loved ones' bedsides when they died, and they kept us apart. People lost their parents, people lost their spouses, their children, didn't get to be there, didn't get to sit beside them on their deathbed, didn't get to do all that, and that's why because they just well, oh no, I guess good enough shit.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry. I'm sorry, exactly. I know so many people happen to, and I'm sorry, but I don't believe that that wasn't purposeful. I believe that was a division. They were they were making us, they were forcing us to stay apart. Okay, and then you got all this invasive shit coming in from the internet, all this like mind control, AI type of thing, you know what I'm saying, where stuff is different and and you can't nobody knows what's real and nobody knows what's fake anymore, right? You know what I'm saying? So to me, I I feel like it's some kind of fucking mind control. I feel like I really do. I mean, I feel like the more people have been driven apart family-wise and stuff in the last few years from circumstances, and you got people that aren't. There's just been a lot that's happened in the world in the last few years, and it just seems like such a dramatic change so fast.
SPEAKER_01Right. Well, people just have no disregard anymore for anybody else or anybody's feelings, and they do exactly whatever they want to do.
SPEAKER_00You need to have stuff for yourself, you need to worry about your family. You did it. They took all of our fucking community out of the equation.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm saying post-pandemic, people are still just assholes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, people have always been assholes and and they always will be assholes. I know that to be true, but I don't know. This was a this was a common trauma. We all suffered in some way, alone. Yeah. It broke marriages up. It did I mean, you look at all this shit that happened to families. Really, really, really think about a family that you know that wasn't affected.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In some horrible fucking way. No, I can't. I can't either. Including my own, you know, you too. I I can't think of anybody. It's because it has literally affected everybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it has.
SPEAKER_00It's touched everybody in one way or another. You got these young adults now that are just like home because what it you know what I'm saying? Like they were in their prime, the years where they're supposed to be gathering their confidence and wanting to take the world on, and they're shut down and slammed in a freaking room with a a computer and a phone. Charlie. And that's how they learn. Yeah, well, not just her. I'm talking like even like Mallory's generation, Abby's generation, that age frame, you know, the older teens, early 20s, they didn't learn to communicate the way we did. You know, they didn't learn that, you know, you go to school with somebody every day and y'all might be friends and get in a fight, and then maybe y'all have a misunderstanding and y'all can you know figure it out. No, they go and just scorch earth on internet and blow each other up, block each other, and ignore each other. Okay, well, why is it? I don't know. It's just so final and dramatic the way things are done now.
SPEAKER_01Um, I look at Charlie and how she grew up, you know, with COVID and she was in kindergarten and it absolutely terrified her because we couldn't go outside, we couldn't be around other people, we had to space six feet apart, we had to wear the mask. The world Yeah, everybody was wearing masks or they could get sick, you know, scared of getting sick, scared of your family and friends. She watched family and friends pass away because of it, and she is absolutely terrified of the world. She doesn't like to go out in it unless she's with Dave Rye. Um, she doesn't like to associate a whole lot outdoors. She is just, I mean, we have had to work with her on that. We really have, because she saw the world turn upside down at a very young age. Yeah. And then she sees how people are now.
SPEAKER_00Right. And I'm sorry, you just can't tell me there's not ramifications. Oh no, there are. There definitely are. I mean, we we we experienced and witnessed historical trauma. You know what I'm saying? Like that's gonna carry to this is like the depression globally, it's like the depression, you know, or worse. But yeah, I mean, where people are gonna talk about it for decades. Right. It's like, oh, well, grandma don't really like going out and talking a lot in public because you know she was raised during the pandemic. It's gonna be like that. Yeah. And then it worries me because I'm scared that like in the next couple generations, if it keeps getting worse, you know what I mean? I don't know how you come back from that.
SPEAKER_01Well, just people in general are just rude.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it does. Like that's what I kind of see that I don't uh feel that I'll be an old hippie roof up in the woods. I won't I will not.
SPEAKER_01Well, a prime example is what I was telling you about earlier, too. It's just like how people just have zero regard for anybody else. And it's like I've said it before on the podcast where we go to Walmart or something like that, and I make Dave push the buggy because I get such anxiety with people running out in front of me, they just don't care.
SPEAKER_00We'll be literally like knuckled up the whole time, even a restaurant. And I cannot stand it.
SPEAKER_01So I asked Dave to push the cart whenever we go to Walmart, and it just so happens we had to go there the other day, and we were going out the exit, and there was a guy in two types of tie-dye coming through. He looked like Doc Brown from Back to the Future, hair everywhere, and he's pushing his cart into the exit. My husband did not move, and the guy was just like, Ugh, and Dave just pointed to the sign above it that said exit, and the dude is just like, Oh, yeah, well, how about you just get over it? Well, Dave is still rolling, and he said, How about I just take out your legs from under you, yo bastard? Just I thought we were gonna have a brawl in Walmart, but it was just like that. We were in the right. This man got pissed because he was in the wrong and we weren't gonna get out of his way to accommodate him.
SPEAKER_00Because he felt stupid, and the normal response would have been, oh my bad, I'm sorry. Right, that would have been a reasonable response. People are so hell-bent on being right and rude. I'm sorry. I just I don't know, people out like children, they really do. I've seen grown people getting arguments in line because they felt like somebody cut them off, you know, or something. I I've just seen it all. And I'm gonna tell you this people are less well behaved than their children are at most times when they come in. Like, I mean, people, the children, like you, I don't know, you hear the parents and they're getting on to the children, they're supposed to be so good. You don't need to do that, don't touch that, don't do this, don't do that, blah, blah, blah. And then the mama's up there rude as fuck on the phone. Like, ma'am, can I help you? Do you need something else? Oh, you're not gonna put this in, you're not gonna do that. Well, you're gonna get out your conversation for 30 seconds, interact with me so we can move on about our damn day. People this everybody's self-important, everybody's self-important. I cannot go out. Uh-oh. Hell no. And they're on their phone. I don't even want to be around these people on the fucking highway. Why I wanna go sit in a restaurant surrounded by these people?
SPEAKER_01It never fails. We go out to eat, somebody's phone will ring and somebody will answer it.
SPEAKER_00Or they got somebody's chaps jumping up and down in the booths. And I understand while they're on the phone, right? I mean, I'm not talking about going to like Applebee's or something. I'm talking about we went to Yard House um in Brown, which is a nicer place. I don't like going there, it's too bougie for me. I don't know, I'm just simple, but the kids like it. Josh likes it. I like it too. I like that. It's a nice, it's good. It's just, I don't know. But yeah, there's families in there, and it's not really a family place. And there's a kid jumping up and down in the booth behind me with the hands on the thing and keeps snatching my hair from the back. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I just I've told my own daughter about that. You know, I've got grandkids, I've got two young grandkids, and it's even told her about that.
SPEAKER_00I know they want to do things. I get it. I totally get it. I totally get it. And they're gonna act and they're gonna act when they're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01But you have to think about the other patrons that are gonna be at a certain place, and you know not to take your one and two-year-old to a nicer place when you know they're not gonna sit still, they're gonna throw things, they're gonna be loud, they're gonna scream, they're probably cry, they're not gonna eat their food, they'll probably throw things across the table, like all of these things. And what that does is that interrupts everybody else's dining experience, too. So I've told my own daughter about this. Like, you may just not go out to eat at a nice place while you have your kids with you. You eat it, that's what you do.
SPEAKER_00You figure out where you can go, where they can be, where they ain't too. I mean, right. Go where families and kids go, right? And we did like CC's would be about the nice, which was like a little pizza bar place back in the day we had here. It was great. I would take them there, but this is like a pizza buffet, like it's a kid place, or like when Gaddy Town was here. Yeah, we took them places like that, but yeah, we took them to kid places, right?
SPEAKER_01We have Chuck E. Cheese and we did have Gaddy Town and stuff like that. I know Chick-fil-A and some McDonald's still have play places, you know, those kind of things. Like those are the kind of places that you need to be targeting, right?
SPEAKER_00And that's kind of where you gotta go when you got little ones, you know what I'm saying? Like, little ones are gonna act like little ones, just like you don't go at the bouncy house, I mean, and run your ass off and sling yourself around like a toddler would do. You know what I'm saying? You're gonna sit there in a controlled manner and let them play. Okay, when we're in a restaurant and it's a controlled manner, they're gonna want to play because they're kids. And it's you know what I'm saying? Like you as much as they you can't expect an adult to go in there and act like a kid, you can't expect a kid to act like an adult. You know, those places are kind of there loosely with you know, with with manners to each other, but they're to show kids boundaries, I think. And it's almost like you're learning to go eat at a restaurant one day.
SPEAKER_01And I love my grandkids, I do, but they beat the shit out of me every day. They beat the shit out of me. I know they're so the kids are so rough, they really are, and they're learning not to be, you know what I mean? Like not hitting, not throwing things, not you know, just beating out of me.
SPEAKER_00When I have them, they want to take it easy on me. Granny Bruce.
SPEAKER_01Well, so do I. And I walk around with mystery bruises. Well, they're not really a mystery, but I mean I walk around with mystery bruises. I forget 'em, and I know what they're from. It's from the kids throwing their whole body weight on me or throwing things at me or smacking me in the face, knocking my glasses off, or oh my god, yes.
SPEAKER_00I remember those days. And you know, they're like a floppy anvil at a certain point. You know what I mean? Especially like little babies, like they're like they'll just go back with that head and whack you right between the eyes, but they're like a a wobbly anvil. Like that's what their heads feel like because they have the hardest heads, and they just yeah, yeah. Well, you know, his terrible both of the kids broke Josh's nose at two separate times.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the kids I love them, but they're terrible.
SPEAKER_00They're they're they're real, they're little monsters.
SPEAKER_01They are, they're just adorable little monsters, and little baby monsters. And I love them, and I would do anything for them, but they gotta quit beating shit out of me.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01I think it's terrible twos, and like today, for example, he decided he was going to climb out of his crib, take his diaper off, and piss on the changing table. He had feelings about it.
SPEAKER_00He said he's standing on business. He said this is where it goes.
SPEAKER_01But not only one. Who does that remind you of? Oh my god, I don't know. Uh you had the experience Austin. Yes, yeah, it does. God that just took me back. So and I've tried to tell Abby that so many times that it that Andy is just like how her brother was growing up.
SPEAKER_00It was the weirdest, cutest little thing. You would get on to him and he would just drop and start patties.
SPEAKER_01And that's what he thought. And see, Andy don't do that. Andy just keeps on. Like you tell him that I'm worried about you. You put him in timeout, you swat his butt, you take his toys away. He's gonna find something else to throw at you. He throws it at the TV, he wants to throw it at my mirrors on the wall. He has this fatuation with wanting to take his balls and throw them as high as he can into the ceiling fan.
SPEAKER_00That's why I got him soft ones. To be fair, I got him soft ones for that reason. So, because I know how rough boys are.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And he loves them, he loves those. But yeah, he does like to fling them up into the ceiling fan and watch them ricochet around my living room. And a lot of times it hits something or it hits a person or it slams into my table where my drink is at and it knocks that over or something. And so we go through this every single day.
SPEAKER_00And then like this reminds me, there was a while there when they are small, like that. You just can't have shit. No, you can't have shit, period, and you can't have shit out for damn sure. No, so you gotta put everything up right, yeah. It's just like damage control with the end of the day. Like I remember those days because mine, well, hers are obviously closer in age, but mine were 20 months apart. Yeah, so it was yeah, yeah. I remember those days. It was they team up.
SPEAKER_01They do. Lila's a year old and she's learning, you know, her strength, but she wants to start clapping those hands and hits me in the face every day. Or she knocks my glasses off, or she'll grab my glasses or something. She just she just everywhere.
SPEAKER_00She won't even grab you, babies. Mallory, girls are like that. I think they they want to touch and grab your earrings and snatch your glasses and pull your hair and right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, when there's some peace and quiet when they go to bed at night, uh Gigi is feeling very relieved because they are on it all day, every day. I can't wait for you to have grandkids, best friends.
SPEAKER_00I know, I know. I just I don't think they're ready yet. Um, I don't I don't know. I'm hoping in the next five years. I really like five four four or five years from now.
SPEAKER_02We'll see.
SPEAKER_00Like, I don't know. I want 'em. I want at least one. I gotta have at least one.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I know you'll get that best friend. I know you will.
SPEAKER_00I hope so. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Come out or get busy.
SPEAKER_00Oh Lord, she ain't ready. No, I know it.
SPEAKER_01And that's another thing, finding somebody worth reproducing with anymore. Well, and that's the thing, is that you know, Abby and the child's father are not together, and that makes things a little bit rough too. I mean, Abby is with someone else who is who does treat her good and takes care of the kids and everything, and so that makes it a little easier. Yeah. But you know, the child's father wasn't in the picture for a while, and Abby was a single mom for a little bit, you know. And even she'll tell you that it's hard.
SPEAKER_00He'll live to regret it too, I believe.
SPEAKER_01Well, we just found out that he's got his new girlfriend pregnant.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wonderful. So they have a half sibling coming.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And he hasn't seen his own kids in over a year and a half.
SPEAKER_00Well, how informed is this girlfriend? Like she knows the whole deal.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. She had tried to reach out to Abby before and wanted to know why her and Michael had broken up and things like that. Right. And Abby never responded. And she basically says she just gonna have to find out on her own what kind of person he is.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's obviously your answer right there, though, ain't it? Mm-hmm. I mean, simplified, but that's your answer.
SPEAKER_01And I'm like, why are you so worried about why they broke up? You know, that's not your relationship.
SPEAKER_00But she knows he has two children, yeah. And she knows he doesn't see them, and she knows he doesn't attempt to see them. And Abby was and she's currently pregnant.
SPEAKER_01She's currently pregnant.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I feel like she made her bed, she's gonna lay in it.
SPEAKER_01Right. And so that's all we know about that.
SPEAKER_00Um, and that's only because y'all little young girls, quit believing all the shit these dudes tell you. Oh my god, please just stop. Use your brain, your common sense. They ain't that cute, okay. Right, there's somebody out there that'll that'll have what you want out of life in a better form. I promise. Yeah, I mean, uh Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_01Stop falling for every dude that gives you a little bit of attention, right? Like you're so much what you want to hear, right? You're so much better than that. You're worth more, right?
SPEAKER_00Like, get real. I mean, these little dudes, y'all gonna have to figure it out too, right?
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, and I look at like now, like with back to school and stuff, some of the trends that they got going on, and I see how these little girls and boys be dressing. Oh, I know, and I'm like, that's half the problem.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's no place in the world. I see these little 16-year-old, 15-year-old girls coming, you know, through the store and stuff, and I mean, there's no way. There is no way in the world have my child had to figure what she do if she wants to walk around like that. At that age, there ain't no way in hell you live you leaving out my house in that.
SPEAKER_01Right. I mean, I don't say well now then why are you looking at things like that? Girls should be able to unapologic apologetically show their bodies and do whatever they want to and show how they want to and not be sexualized and things like that. I get that.
SPEAKER_00But many walking around like that, right? What man you see with his ball sack hanging out on either side? I can see cooter lips. Right. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. No, if you need to be that fucking uncovered, then you sick. Stay your ass at home, you got a fever or something. If you burning up like that, that you need your damn cooter lips breezing on the outside.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I've cheeks everywhere. And I'm like, ooh, this so it's unsanitary.
SPEAKER_00It is, and I see I don't want to see your wet streak when you get up out the chair. I'm t put some fucking clothes on. There ain't a man out there that's gonna look at you and say, Damn, I want to be the father of her children and respect her and marry her for the rep. I'm sorry. They look in, they see an ass, and that's what you're trying to show them. Well, what I see is that you wonder why, and but then again, and then you wonder why they don't take you seriously.
SPEAKER_01They'll have on their cheer shorts or whatever with their ass cheeks hanging out, or like you know, the and what gets you.
SPEAKER_00You know what I'm saying? Like, I and when I was in high school, I think I might have worn like a little bit of mascara, just a little bit, and then maybe like powder. Yeah. Because my shit was oily, but like these girls coming in with their ass cheeks out, full face of fucking makeup, titties hanging out, and I'm just like, these are children.
SPEAKER_01They got acrylic nails and wigs and extensions and lashes and eyebrows done and everything at and woman and daddy pay for it 13, 14 years old, yeah, and they look 20.
SPEAKER_00They do, they do, and then you know, I get I can't stand like a creepy dude is the worst. And I'm telling you, when I see these little girls come through and these old men or older men that are our age and oh you know, too damn old looking, and it just it makes me sick. I just want to like that's a baby, but then again, she's sitting there with it out. So what the fuck are you supposed to do about it? You know what I mean? Like it it makes as a mother, it makes me want to go tell him keep his eyes to himself, good God, but then they want it out, so obviously they want people to look at it, and I'm like, we it's so weird because we've like over I don't know, like as a society, I feel like the kids are so over sexualized. Yeah, do you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we didn't look at what they listen to and what they watch, what everything, you know.
SPEAKER_00That too, that too. There's you know, it's just uh it's a real sexualized world we live in, and then you know, people people, I don't know, like there's they're okay with part of it and not op okay with the other part of it. You know what I mean? Let's like she can you know do this and do that as long as she, you know, and I know how it is around here, it ain't changed too much since we were kids that she can go to the field party on the weekend or whatever it is kids do these days and go out here, you know. But as long as she goes to church on Sunday, and that girl is out there probably on every drug, every everything, holding it out, 15 years old. That's how these kids are nowadays.
SPEAKER_01They are, they see it on social media, on um, you know, their friends, uh, social medias, they see it on TikTok, they see it on Instagram, you know, they're striving so hard for that clout.
SPEAKER_00And and clout is like 15 minutes of fame. I'm so sorry. Like, what the f like I said, they ain't nobody, they'll fuck a hoe, they're not gonna marry a hoe. Excuse me for my language, but that's just what it is. You know, and maybe it sounds old fashioned like their mamas, it no, but because it's their a lot of them, not all of them, never all, but a lot of their mamas are the same way, and they never taught them. And then they wonder why they're gonna go out and go through the same shit they went through and the same experience they went through, getting disrespected and wound up, you know, this and that. And I'm sorry, I just it's like they've oversexualized things and then they've completely took every bit of human connection out of things.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00What is that? I mean, what is that? How how does that it don't it can't exist? It's just risque pictures and I know, but I'm saying like they that's it. That's it. They send nudes. They send nudes to each other. They never meet in person. Or Snapchat.
SPEAKER_01They're talking to 20 diff different guys or girls on Snapchat sending it.
SPEAKER_00How are you supposed to get to know somebody? I understand you ain't got a long-term date everybody that you're interested in. You can just, you know, use your discernment, bruh. It ain't hard.
SPEAKER_01I've had young dudes hit me up on Snapchat. I got rid of Snapchat because I don't even have it.
SPEAKER_00I don't even have it. People just I got rid of it.
SPEAKER_01I was using it for our podcast just to put the links and stuff out there. And I would get people that would add me back, and then they would be like, What's up? Let me see you. Can we talk on FaceTime or send me a picture?
SPEAKER_00Could you imagine this was when we were their age, right? Like, say we're 20. Say we're 20. What would happen if somebody our age came at your mama like that? Ain't nobody coming at my mama like that. Right. So it's like, I don't is it like everybody is just using in like no inhibition and they just do what they do? Or is it like they just feel like they have to top it and be more like over the top than the next person? Or like well, you know what I'm saying? I don't I think what they're trying to do is throw shit at the wall to see what sticks. Yeah, but that's just so sh it's so freaking weird, but then they wouldn't sit down with you and uh freaking Starbucks and have a conversation with you either. Right. They wouldn't be able to look you in the eye to do that.
SPEAKER_01They wouldn't even be able to carry on a conversation, they don't know how that too.
SPEAKER_00They probably wouldn't even be able to get there, they would probably have to have their mommy drop them off. Exactly. But the the other point, I'm just like how it people are wild. Yeah, I they are. I feel like the internet brings out the worst in most people. It does not all people, I think it just it just depends on your personality type.
SPEAKER_01I think it does a lot of good, but I think there's a lot of people on there that like to just shitpost.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, it's just like that reminds me of the saying, like everything in moderation. We don't have to live and die by it. No, and and that's what people do, and that's what we need to get away from. I'm not saying don't have it. Obviously, you know, it's great. It's great. I mean, the things that has done for people, the things it'll continue to do for people. The you know, there's amazing things can happen via internet, but then there's also the bots, and then there's also just trolls and bullshit everywhere you turn, and it's just like I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I hate the life is so automated now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, there's that too. Like I said, and everybody wants Botox and beauty treatments and all this surgery and shit now, like to look like what something that isn't humanly possible, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like it's almost like really I see that's where I have to be kind of in the gray area on there because I do want a tummy tuck because I feel like I have a skin fanny pack of a FUPA.
SPEAKER_00I well, yeah, because you had your surgeries and I've had two C-sections, so I know exactly what you mean, and I've lost weight, and I I get it, trust me. I think that's different. Yeah, that's almost practical. Well, it pulls I'm it can cause yeah, and it just yeah, it's cumbersome. I get it. I really do. That's different. I'm talking about 30-year-olds that have no wrinkles getting Botox. You know, and as long as they got the money to they're gonna keep putting it in them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's botulism. And I'm sorry, like I know we've been doing Botox for a long time, and I know there's medical things that it really helps with. I know people that have had a lot of uh migraine relief from it and things like that. But I think as far as you can just walk into, I mean, the way things are now, I think it's gonna be there's like a med spa in the mall. I think it's gonna come to the point where you're gonna be able to walk up to a kiosk and get freaking Botox in the middle of the mall before long. Like that's how easy it is to do. And like how but nobody really knows.
SPEAKER_01I'm just not big on having needles put in my face.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I think there's I mean, I don't wanna look old. I don't want to get old. I I would rather get old than die. I mean, you know what I mean? I don't get me wrong, but I think ever I don't think any woman could say they don't want they aren't worried about aging or looking older or stuff like that. But I'm gonna do it gracefully. Yeah, and I'm gonna be me because I'm sorry, I don't I don't know. I just I feel like when you modify yourself to a degree where you become completely different, or you know what I'm saying? A lot of these people do have you heard about these uh what do they call them looks maxers? It's like a dude, it's you gotta look into it. It's so crazy. It's like a dude community where they're like there was a kid that was sitting there and he was a good-looking kid anyway, but like it's like a whole thing, and they Botox and fillers and they do all this stuff and they want to look like the perfect version. I mean, if they have levels and tiers of these people, it's just crazy. I never heard about it either, and then I watched something about it the other day. I just happened to get into it, and I was like, what the fuck? But this kid, 16, 17 years old, you know, having issues, self-esteem issues, which everybody does at that age. Right, I'm sure, makes it so much worse.
SPEAKER_01Of course.
SPEAKER_00And especially if you're involved in a community like that, you know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, what kind of a fucked up community is that? Well, he's sitting there and his mom had kept having to take hambers from him, and he'd go get a new one or buy a new one or find a new one, and he would sit there on the couch and have video with like a TikTok of him like in the background doing it, and he would sit there but like because it was supposed to build scar tissue, and he wanted to build a bigger jawline. So he was sitting there literally breaking his like shards of his jaw to create scar tissue to build up his jawline so he would have a thicker jaw. This is what our babies are doing. I mean, seriously. I mean, to to do what? To to when I'm sure that his chin didn't look weak to me, but I'm sure his weak chin wasn't gonna stop anybody from loving him if he knew how to talk to somebody and got out there and could talk.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00Because a lot of these a lot of these guys are like incel type people too, but very good looking dudes, like successful dudes, like GQ, like I don't know, it's kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but like what kind of modifications did they have to undergo to achieve that perfect result?
SPEAKER_00Right, and it's if that's the conundrum, because there never is, you know what I'm saying? But you know, women have been worried about that type thing for forever, but now the guys are doing it. The guys are doing it. So that that concerns me. You know what I'm saying? Like everybody's standard is so unachievable, but other people's standards don't really make a shit to me because exactly. I mean, I I don't know. I live by my rules and my code of ethic that I think is right, and I do what I do. I try not to hurt anybody, try not to cause no harm, try not to leave people feeling worse than before they came to me. You know what I'm saying? Like I try to be a good person, it shouldn't else, shouldn't anything else matter.
SPEAKER_01Like I was saying, everything is just so fast-paced and even automated now. Like, you know, even interviews you do um like over Teams or Google Meet or something. Like, you don't even get those first face-to-face interviews in person anymore.
SPEAKER_00I understand for practicality's sake to do maybe like tertiary, like beginning kind of stage interviews and stuff. But I'm sorry if I'm gonna hire somebody, I need to be sitting in a room with them. Right.
SPEAKER_01I need to see their body language, I need to talk to them eye to eye.
SPEAKER_00I need to feel your essence, baby. I need to see what you're about. I do. Um, no, I wouldn't like that. I wouldn't like that at all. I just I don't know, people hide shit and I don't know, just gives a lot more ease to it. The internet and everything. Like it's easier. That's like it's harder to get away with some things, and then it's easier to get away with others in ways we haven't learned to or or curtailed our lifestyle to accommodate for yet. You know what I'm saying? Like those are things we haven't figured out yet. Like we don't know what's appropriate. We assume we do, but that goes different for everybody.
SPEAKER_01Well, and that that bar changes over the years too.
SPEAKER_00And it does, and it does, and it's gonna keep rising and rising and rising and rising. I'm just like, okay, well, where I don't know where do we end it? Where uh I mean it it stops where it falls. Right. I mean, that's my answer. I don't know what that means or what it looked like, but that's the only way it can go.
SPEAKER_01Well, the path that we're on now, it's not gonna be good when it does fall. No, but it will.
SPEAKER_00It will, and I feel like it has to, it has to. Um, not I don't know, not that I think it's gonna be anytime soon, but something has to something has to give, the other shoe has to drop. Like, we can only do so much of this type shit before like we're not even what we started out being anymore. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's how civilizations die. When what was there ceased to exist, there's nothing left. A new society begins. And what's that gonna look like? Fuck if I know, but I'm gonna tell you this. I'll be long dead. I hope I am anyway. And I hope when I get back up there, when I make my contract this time, I'm coming back at something easy. I've done, I feel like I have done my work here on earth. Right. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm I just feel like I've done so much work here. Like I ain't signing on for no more bullshit when I go back up there and sign my contract. I want to be like a cat. I wanna be a cat. I wanna be I'm gonna be a doll. Or a doll. I don't want to be no lap dog. I want to be like a farm dog. Yeah. I I want to be able to I want to play and run. I want to be like an outdoor cat. I don't know. I don't I think you would change your mind if you've heard mine get essayed in the bushes beside the window here.
SPEAKER_01Well, I would like to be an indoor cat. I want to be fixed and chipped and all that, and I want to have food bowl and I want to be you need to live in an apartment, honestly, because they ain't in New York.
SPEAKER_00There ain't nowhere else to be an indoor cat other than somewhere like that. You know what I mean? You gotta go out on a fire escape and shit. That's the way to be a cat.
SPEAKER_01That's what I want. I want a catio. I want all of that. I want to be a spoiled cat when I come back.
SPEAKER_00Or a spoiled dog. I want to be a good old dog. Oh, so I won't be an old dog named Duke or something. I don't know. I just want to be slow and purposeful and live my damn life.
SPEAKER_01There you go. So you want
SPEAKER_00Uh no, I mean a well-behaved dog, I guess. I won't be old. I won't be old. I mean, I obviously I gotta be born and go through my puppy stage. We just talking at our asses at this point, but yeah, but still fun. Something easier, it is it is. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Well, going back to what I was saying about everything being automated, it's like I was rushing around today for my interview. I was supposed to have that interview today, or I thought, until it came up in my calendar again and it said the 25th. I was like, today is not the 25th, today is not my interview. Meanwhile, I'm dressed head to toe for this team's meeting. It's not even an in-person meeting, but I dress for the job that I want. So makeup done, hair done, clothes on, looking sharp. I had reviewed my resume just to make sure, you know, I had everything in check. I even chat GPT potential interview questions I may be asked about this particular position that I've applied for. I've looked at the credentials. I I researched the company even more only to find out that it don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. We still got another week.
SPEAKER_00It's like, all right, this time next week. That was a good practice run.
SPEAKER_01That was a good run.
SPEAKER_00You ought to be damn prepared for this interview.
SPEAKER_01Watch me flunk the fuck out of it too. I will. I was already pre-prepared. Now I'm over it. So now when I go to this interview, I'm just gonna be like, whatever.
SPEAKER_00Maybe that's what we all should do before we do things like that. We done been through the run, the practice, and we're like, all right, I've done gave this amount of energy. I'm good, whatever, you know.
SPEAKER_01Right. I already got my anxiety level up, I already got my nervousness out of the way, already, you know, did what I needed to do as far as preparations, only for it to be a week away. Well, gotta hate that shit. I hate that shit so bad. I was so mad at myself.
SPEAKER_00At least you didn't drive to where, or yeah, you didn't have it was it was online. That's for I was gonna say back in the day, could you imagine?
SPEAKER_01I would have drove to my interview and showed up a week early. That would have pissed me off even more.
SPEAKER_00I'm just gonna wait here.
SPEAKER_01Right. Like I'm just I'm not going. Somebody's leaving now. Right. It's like I need to push that interview to today because that's what I prepared for was today. Well, my opinion is if you ain't early, you late. Right. They say be 15 minutes early and you're on time. Well, I'm a week early, so you know, just give me a tour of the place and let's sit down and talk.
SPEAKER_00God only me. No, I it sounds like something I would do. I think I have done something similar in the past. I know I have. It just it reeks of me, so I probably did.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm sure I'm not the only person that that's happened to, but it just it's like just irks my shit. And I don't know why.
SPEAKER_00I told you, like, I have really like, I don't know. I've got this thing with my arms. I gotta have my arms doing something. So usually I'll wind up like putting my hands on my hips and stuff. I'm just standing around and I'll go over and like look out the window and just kind of watch outside for a minute, and I'll look at myself like third person almost, and I'll be like, I am standing like forced gump right now on the front of the bow of the boat. You're gonna start waving. I do. I'll be sitting there laughing, and it'll be like, Chris, what? I'll be like, I'm just over here doing forced gump. I'll be like, we was running. I mean, I will just be standing there and then I can just in my head, I picture forrest gumps standing and I laugh at myself all the time. And I'm like, put doing that, but it's just my go-to. Lieutenant Dan. Yeah. God, we was peace and carrots. I do, but I just picture myself standing like that and thinking, well, that's Lieutenant Dan.
SPEAKER_01God, and I can just imagine you standing like that too. That's Lieutenant Dan right there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, God. But I think that's the secret to kind of, I mean, I ain't gonna say I'm all the time happy, because God knows I ain't, but I'm learning. I'm learning. But I think that's what a lot of it is, is is learning to laugh at yourself and be like, damn. I don't know, I think we're so hard on ourselves. Like, you just gotta look at yourself in the light of like a person you really love. And you know what I'm saying? Like something if you feel in a way and just kind of give yourself advice that you would give to that person in the same situation, and that's usually what you need to do. Yeah, it's just practice, it's practice, it's practice, it's practice. But yeah, being a little kinder to yourself and just being kinder and present, and and it's really hard to do. It's especially when I mean it is for me, because when you I mean, let's be honest, like you don't realize you're masking until you the mask is just shattered and popped off your face, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then it's like now you're exposed. What do you do? Right.
SPEAKER_00You learn to accept yourself or you don't, because I don't know, for me anyway, since I went through all that, like I just anything other than who I am as a person, just genuinely 100% me. I just I mm mm mm. I won't, I refuse because it's disrespectful to me. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? If I don't want to do it, I'm not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00If I don't want to go to do, I'm not going. If I don't feel like, I don't feel like it. And that's okay. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm not saying I don't still do things and help people and do things. I do, I do. I just do it in a way that's attainable on a smaller level. You know what I'm saying? Like I give more of myself on smaller doses, I guess. But I don't know. Like, I just I I couldn't imagine having to go back to my life five years ago. I just couldn't imagine it.
SPEAKER_01And and that's definitely taught you to be kinder to yourself and give yourself more grace.
SPEAKER_00And it's it's forced me to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean? Which a lot of times to be honest, when you don't realize what it is or what you're doing or what you're needing from yourself, you know what I'm saying? Like you don't most people don't know. You you do beat yourself up and you do, you know, I need to be doing this or I need to be doing that, you know. And then I eventually had to get to the point where I was just telling, I was like, look, damn it. You know what I'm saying? Like, you've been through so fucking much. You know what it's been like. Just chill the fuck out, calm down. It's not that important, it's not that serious. Most people don't take life as seriously as I do anyway. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm just I not saying they don't want to be safe and live in the world. Say I'm just saying, like, I think about everything. I'm a dissector. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm just that type of person.
SPEAKER_01Well, and you had to reset your whole nervous system.
SPEAKER_00I'm still working on that. That's that's constant work, but I I've came to terms with things. I can definitely say that. Like, I've came to terms, and I think a lot of what helped me get over that ledge because I was stuck for a while, just couldn't seem to get past this one spot. And it was honestly just me asking myself that question about my mom, the hard question. And it was like, Do you want to have a relationship that's any closer than what you have? And I was kind of after that, in my opinion, at this point, no, yeah. I I don't want to not at all. Um, and what we've had is kind of what we're gonna have, I believe. You know what I'm saying? Like it had just that was just where I was, and I said, you know what, I'm I'm good with that because that's about as much as I want out of it, too. At this point, but but I still needed to say what I had to say.
SPEAKER_01That and I'm glad that you did, and I'm glad that you guys are able to move on from there. And you know, it didn't you know how it is for me though.
SPEAKER_00I'm just such a I'm so near-divergent in that way where I can't not say what I want to say, like it's painful to me to not say what I want to say, and and it's extremely painful, and and for me not to I mean it wasn't even about my paternity, that was about my childhood, my raisings, my life with her and my experiences in that. That was anger that I would just push back, push back, push back, cover, cover, cover, mask and didn't not pay attention to because that was my mom, you know. Like that was anger I was still caring from that. You know what I mean? So I had that, and then all that other shit just compiled on top of it. And of course, that was the matter of business at the time, and it still is, you know. Me and my dad, we have a really good relationship, and I'm extremely thankful for that. He is a really nice, good man, and he makes me feel better about being me. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Like, that's what parents should do is make you feel like you are somebody, you know, that you mean something, that you're loved, that you're cared for, you're wanted, you know, all of those things.
SPEAKER_00Right, which is kind of new to me, yeah, in a lot of ways, you know. So I'm just I'm taking it in, but I I so appreciate our relationships. I can't like I'm so glad what happened happened and I found out, and I can't be mad about the years I didn't know because fuck at this point, but I could tell her how she made me feel when I was a kid. I could tell her how I grew up believing things were because of the way she treated me, the way I was handled, and like I I I don't know. I gave her a pass for way too damn long, and then the whole paternity thing that was just icing. That was the cherry on top. That was you know, that finished that shit Sunday. And I guess when I peeled through all the layers of that and got through that, that exposed nerve was still down there raw. You know what I mean? And and then it had to, it had to. And I still I feel good about how I did it. Maybe I could have eased her into it a little more. Maybe I don't know. I'm just direct.
SPEAKER_01That's I mean, sometimes you have to rip the band-aid off.
SPEAKER_00Right, and I wasn't disrespectful to her. I spoke to her like I would to any other damn woman standing in front of me, and that's how I explained it to her. I'm like, I'm not talking to you, you know, through the voice of a child to a parent. This is me tell you know, I'm a woman, I'm a grown woman with grown children of her own. Speak to me as such. You know what I'm saying? Like, show me the respect you would any other person and let me tell you how I feel. She didn't like hearing it, and I didn't go even into detail. I just kind of like spit it out, and I don't know, end of the day I feel a hundred times better having done it.
SPEAKER_01Good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, even though I was told I would probably regret it.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think you would, but I think by getting that off of your chest, you needed to get that off of your chest. You couldn't carry that around with you forever. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Somebody said you'll probably just end up regretting it. And I was like, uh Yeah, I don't think so. Yeah, yeah. No, that was me setting that final boundary in place. You know what I'm saying? That was me putting that final boundary in. I put that final Lego block up on my wall. You know what I'm saying? Like, this is where I stayed, this is where I deserve to be, this is where you are, this is what we are. I don't know. Like, I just needed it said. I needed like for me, I just need it laid the fuck out. Just spread it out for me, tell me what it is. I can I can deal with pain from a lie. I cannot, I mean, from the truth. I can't deal the lies are what it's so much worse. It's the pain and the deceit and the betrayal and the you can't trust. I mean, it's hard enough to trust people. Yeah, it is, you know, and then when your own mother does something like that, you know, it's right surprisingly, it's I don't know, like I don't feel like it's broadened my boundaries any as far as people go. I feel like I've always had decent discernment. I would let stuff go longer than I should. That was my problem. Not setting boundaries, not speaking up.
SPEAKER_01And now you've got that, and I'm proud of you for that, best friend. And I'm glad that you were able to put that out into the universe and get that off of your chest and be able to talk about those things with your mom so that hopefully, like I said, you could rip the band-aid off and just like cut the bullshit and get down to brass tags and like get through it, right? And try to rebuild from there. Right.
SPEAKER_00And see, but that's the thing. Like, my mom, she's she's uh she's not a rebuilder, you know what I'm saying? Like, I know that about her, and that and that's fine. Not everybody is. She's just and I love my mom, I really do, and I hate to say something like this, but I feel like she's already sucked into the cycle of the family trauma of the generational things that our family has had. Like, she's already so engrossed in that that I don't want to say there's no hope or there's no chance or there's no what I because I don't I could never say that. I can never definite, you know, speak definite on anybody else, but I don't think so.
SPEAKER_01No. Well, she may still have things that she needs to work through too.
SPEAKER_00You know, and I talk, I'm like, if I and I didn't that's one thing I will say too, is like I didn't leave it one-sided. You know, I was like, if I've done anything, tell me what it is. Let me let me explain to you, or or maybe ease your mind about something, or tell you where I'm coming from, or what I thought at the time, or what bitch, you know, people just you know, it's it's really true what they used to say back in uh what top used to say, you know, assuming makes that ass out of you and me.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00And it does, it does. I know we all have our own realities and versions of you know, like we have our our reality is reality to us, right? And if we don't communicate to each other, how the fuck are we ever gonna know? Right. We can be holding something that means nothing, you know.
SPEAKER_01No, they just block each other, they just block each other, right? Like, we gotta get back to having real conversations, and I'm so glad that like you and I do this podcast because you and I get to have this outlet to sit and talk about those things, and we can have our own opinion on it, and it can be different from anybody else's, and that's what I love about it.
SPEAKER_00I don't know, like I know I don't know. To me, I feel like yes, we are a trauma podcast in the sense that that's our genre or what you know what I mean. But it's not necessarily just come and say bad things happen to me, and it's like I really want I I don't know, I'm just a mothering spirit. I don't I want to help people, and the only way I know how to help is to teach or to tell what I've been through and what you know I'm still working, I'm a work in progress every second of every day, and I probably will be the rest of my life, but I'm making improvements. I see them, I feel them, I know, and I don't know. I just want to share how I've got through and what I've done to try and what I feel like would help. And I know that's what you want to do too. And I don't know, I feel like we could all help each other feel so much better. And and if people would just say things, you know, if there's I don't know, I think most people have something they want to say to somebody that they never would because they're scared of, you know what I mean? Same reason I never wanted to tell my mom, hey, you kind of suck.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I'd like to open that up too to any of our listeners that if they have uh a topic they would like for us to discuss or would like to come on and be a part of the podcast, they can always email us at host at itrauma.com. Um, or they can hit us up on our Facebook messenger. Uh we respond to those too.
SPEAKER_00Most definitely, and I'm sorry, like yes, I love connecting. I love connecting with people. I love, I don't know, like we're there's something so beautiful about it. Like we're human. You know what I mean? We are animals with souls, but we are animals. We are very much vulnerable, you know what I'm saying? Just by nature. And then we try to make our just the like you said, the clout and the bullshit and the stuff that doesn't matter. And I don't care about any of that. I don't care what's trending on TikTok. I couldn't tell you. I I could not couldn't begin to, but I do love to be able to like stop and have a conversation with somebody and like be a fucking human and be a person. And and I don't know, it's almost a dead art, right? They're not teaching cursive, they're not teaching communication.
SPEAKER_01Right, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00I'm mad that they don't teach cursive anymore. God, we need to we need to uh how does that go? That old saying, revise, redo. It's like three R words. I cannot remember how it'll come to me later.
SPEAKER_01That's not it.
SPEAKER_00I mean it might be, but that don't make sense. But I can make it make sense. Okay, yeah, we need to reduce our bullshit.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Okay. That's the first damn thing. And then reuse our common sense. Put that out there. That's a good one. And then recycle. Um, we can just go back to how shit used to be. Yeah, let's just go on back to how things were. It ain't that hard. It ain't that hard to have clubs and and and things for adults to get together. That's another thing, unless you live in a city. There's not a lot of things you can do. You know, there's nothing that's there's nothing out there really other than fucking beer gardens up here, you know what I mean, that are for social gatherings. Nobody's social. Right. And I mean it was it was definitely on a decline, and I really do. COVID just did her in, did her in. And and we need to get back to that. Like, people don't trust people that talk to them in the store. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, I'm that way. Like, I just I don't know. If I feel like I want to say something to somebody, I'll say it. And some people are like, yeah, and they'll talk, and then some people just look at you like, how dare you comment and and and interrupt my universe. Right, exactly. Sorry, bro. I mean, it's just I don't understand what it is. It's gotta be fear. Something. They're fear, fear of being rejected or fear of FOMO. I don't fucking know. Whatever it is, we need to get past it. Amen. Or or the universe is gonna get past us and be over us, and we're gonna be a fallen society. We're gonna be like Atlantis. It's gonna be the lost colony of the United States of America. And I don't doubt it with the way we're gonna see. And all they gonna remember is Trump. Oh, well that's what we're gonna be known for. I don't I don't wanna go down.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to go down in this generation. Like, this ain't no generation to be proud of living in. It just ain't. I'm like, I'm some soft soft bitches. Like, I can't even like find my regulators at. Right. Right. I don't know. I made a mean joke about the I don't know, I probably don't want to say that earlier. No, I don't say it. I ain't going to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It it ain't yeah, that's for after hours.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_01And with that, who'll be bringing. I think this has been a great episode and we want to thank everybody for listening to us and continuing to listen to us. And we're going to keep uh staying back on track and just winging it like we do.
SPEAKER_00Seriously, though, somebody, you know, like we love guests. Reach out. I don't care how big or small you think it is, if you want to talk about it, if it hurt you, if you felt betrayed, if you feel itchy, chafed, I don't care. I'll hear it, I'll talk to you about it. I'm sure I've experienced it too.
SPEAKER_01That's right. Um what do you say we get on out of here for this week, best friend?
SPEAKER_00I say, Okay. I holla. I holla, I holla.
