The Dream of a Ridiculous Man
Tom Larkin trained at Drama Centre London, graduating in 2010, and has since built a rich and varied career in theatre. He began with national and international tours, honing his craft across a wide range of productions. A defining moment came when he was cast in The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart, where he operated the central puppet character. That role marked the beginning of his journey into large-scale puppetry, leading to standout performances in productions such as Warhorse and, most recently, Life of Pi.
In Life of Pi, Tom was part of an exceptional ensemble of puppeteers who made theatre history by winning the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role—the first time the award had been shared by a group and the first time puppetry had been recognised in that way.
His theatre credits include Life Of Pi (Wyndham’s Theatre), Bury the Dead (Finborough Theatre), Demons (Splitmoon Theatre Company), An Inspector Calls (UK Tour), Warhorse (UK and Dutch Tour), Peter Pan (360 Entertainment), Tomten (The Little Angel), 55 Days (Hampstead Theatre), The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart (The Pleasance Edinburgh), The Emperor Self (The Arcola), Robin Hood (UK Tour), and The Tail of The Big Bad Wolf (Boxmoor Playhouse).
