Lani

Lani, aka Ishle Yi Park, is the first woman to become Poet Laureate of Queens. She is an award~winning poet, singer, hula dancer, certified yoga teacher, lomi lomi practitioner, and food forest mama. Lani has traveled around the world, reading poetry, singing & playing music at over 300 music festivals, colleges, cafes & cultural venues in the United States, Cuba, Jamaica, Singapore, Aotearoa, North & South Korea and South Africa and more. She has organized readings & benefits to raise awareness about Korean Reunification, to support women in situations of domestic violence, to help victims of natural disasters, and to support the greening of our planet.

Caridad de la Luz aka La Bruja

Caridad De La Luz (LA BRUJA) won an Emmy in 2022 and in the same year became the Executive Director of the NUYORICAN POETS CAFE where she began her career in 1996. Caridad has balanced her career of activism, education, spirituality and entertainment. She received the Puerto Rican Women Legacy Award, The Edgar Allan Poe Award from The Bronx Historical Society and was honored as A Bronx Living Legend. She was presented with a Citation of Merit from The Bronx Borough President and named “Top 20 Puerto Rican Women Everyone Should Know”.

Dr. Stephanie Han

Dr. Stephanie Han is the award-winning author of Swimming in Hong Kong, founder ofdrstephaniehan.com, editor of the Woman. Warrior. Writer. newsletter, and creator of the Divorce Story Structure. Her guide BREAK: How to Write Your Divorce Story teaches Divorce Story Structure.  Han is completing her memoir "BREAK: A Divorce Story" and lives on Oahu, home of her family since 1904.

Lee Herrick

Lee Herrick is the California Poet Laureate. He is the author of four books of poems: In Praise of Late Wonder: New and Selected Poems (Gunpowder Press, September 2024); Scar and Flower, Gardening Secrets of the Dead; and This Many Miles from Desire. His poems appear widely, in The Poetry Foundation, Academy of American Poets, Indivisible: Poems of Social Justice with a foreword by Common, and HERE: Poems for the Planet, with a foreword by the Dalai Lama, among others. He was born in Daejeon, Korea and adopted as an infant. He lives with his family in Fresno, California and served as Fresno Poet Laureate from 2015-2017. He teaches at Fresno City College and at University of Nevada Reno at Lake Tahoe. He is the 10th California Poet Laureate, and the first Asian American to serve in the role.

Taiyo Na

Taiyo Na is a writer of poems, songs, stories and curricula who lives on unceded Lenape land (Queens, NY). The 2010/2011 collaboration album Home:Word under the outfit Magnetic North & Taiyo Na (MNTN) included a number of chart-topping songs in Asia, and his “Artist Takeovers” playlist was featured on Spotify in 2017. His writing has appeared in Kweli Journal, Poets House and in the anthology We the Gathered Heat: Asian American and Pacific Islander Poetry, Performance, and Spoken Word (Haymarket Books). He’s currently working on a collection of poems and stories about parenting and teaching.

Tamika Harper aka Georgia ME
