But for today, on your weekly battle plan, part of the that battle plan, like we've talked before, is going out to all the different networking events, finding opportunities to put on your battle plan. And one thing we did over the weekend, it was the Memorial Health Championship. And if you are listening to this on drop date, they're still trying to go out there. Sunday is the final day of the tournament. So if you're listening to it on Sunday, head on out there and enjoy. But stop by there for the networking on the green event that had five different groups here in town all came together for that one event. So we stopped by there and had three guests with us on that day. Friend of the show, Jeff Dillman, joined us. Justin Guernsey, you've seen him before, and one fresh face you've never seen on the podcast before, Dalton Mender. So hey, we talked a little bit about the importance of what that event was and what that does for the community, and that event does for the community. So hey, let's get right to that from Thursday's Networking on the Green event. All right, everybody, welcome back. Hey, we're obviously not in my studio today. We're hanging out at Panther Creek. We're at the Networking on the Green event where we have Local First Springfield, Landolin Professional Networking Group, Silsa, that's the Central Illinois Customer Service Association, the Springfield Chamber, the Chatham Chamber. So many folks out here supporting this great event. With me, I've got Justin Guernsey, Jeff Dillman, and somebody you have not seen on the podcast yet. So I'm gonna let him introduce himself. Come on, who we got over there? Dalton Minder with Minder Media. He's gonna be on the podcast at some point soon. We're gonna learn all about his story. But give us the brief real quick, Dalton. What do you do, man?

SPEAKER_04

The brief thing is that I'm a media company. I do a lot of websites, a lot of in-person events, such as Memorial Health Championship. I've been honored. This is my second year out here doing all the media for them. Super exciting. Uh, but other than that, man, everything media. There you go. And it's obviously that you're an important person here.

SPEAKER_03

You got the highest level of clearance in any of us right here. Top secret. Yeah, I don't have the band.

SPEAKER_04

None of us have the band. You've got it all. So it's true. Well, I've been fortunate and blessed. I did this, I was out here last year, um, helped out with everything, and Kate and them liked my uh final thing that I gave them. And so they're like, hey, we're gonna come back out again. And so just in charge of all pretty much the atmosphere, the vibe, right? The pictures, the videos, making it look fun out here. And I'm not making it look fun. It is fun out here. So my job is super easy, super simple on that.

SPEAKER_03

There you go. Well, y'all know Jeff Dillman, he's been on the podcast probably more than anybody else other than me.

SPEAKER_02

Jeff, what's been going on, man? Oh, not much. It's been 11 weeks since I've seen you, but you know how that goes. I say that all the time. That's right. You know, one thing about Dalton Mender, real quick, Dalton doesn't get up early, so you gotta have him on the podcast in the afternoon. I just want to make that note. But he's a good he's a good dude. But hey, not much going on, uh, Jeff with Maskell Packaging and and uh the creator of Landalika Professional Networking. What a good place to be out here, Robert, Justin, Dalton. Uh supporting the community, huge economic impact for this event. Maskell, we support it every year. I support it personally, coming out supporting Kate and everybody, really, Emily and the whole group, but uh what a great place to be. Absolutely. Y'all remember Justin Guernsey, he was on just a few months ago.

SPEAKER_01

What's been going on, man? Not much, just working, enjoying time, let us get warmer. It's great. And then this atmosphere out here, this is awesome. This is great that they do this for the community. Um, and then just being out here all the time. It's great. Anybody else feel like you're shadowed when you stand next to this guy?

SPEAKER_02

I was just getting ready to say he's 6'10 and the microphone's down at 4'11.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like the little brother, I just want to get like underneath the shoulder there, you know, and he just kind of holds me in. Yeah. And every trip we take together, he always wants to stand next to me, the shortest guy in the group. And the thing is, say, short and fat, it's not gonna look so well.

SPEAKER_02

But hey, you know, these we together. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

Well, Justin, what's going on in the real estate world, man? It's crazy right now. There's not a ton on the market, um, but we got a ton of buyers ready to buy right now. So it's just a weird time of the year. Um, it's just a ton of freaking buyers and not enough sellers at the moment. So we're doing our best trying to get buyers to make our buyers happy and take advantage of uh the houses that are on the market. There you go.

SPEAKER_03

Well, Jeff, we talk a lot on the show about all these groups working together, right? And we got five of these groups out here today. How important is that?

SPEAKER_02

Hey, that's real important. You know, from Silsa to Bolt Chambers to Landalaken, local first. We need everybody together. We're all one family to support things like this. Very important. We always talk about that. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Glad that it happened here. It's great having all these groups come together. It just shows that when everybody puts their egos aside, man, great things can happen. That's right. So that's right.

SPEAKER_04

I agree. I'll tell you what, it was so unique. I've interviewed, I believe, every single leader of each one of those groups and every single one of them to talk about how great this event is for all their individual groups that they have in their communities and all that stuff. So it's so cool to see such a great event like this bring all of those people together. I've been going to networking stuff for now a year and a half. I think this is the only event where everyone comes together at one time. So it's a lot of fun. I agree. I agree.

SPEAKER_02

And Jeff, what happens when we all come together, brother? Well, communities grow together. You know they do. And uh we have an economic impact, right? Yeah. We're supporting the community, supporting these local businesses, but communities grow together. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

We're standing here at the J and J Gaming Tent, right? So if you're coming out to the event, this is a phenomenal place to watch from, right? So, what all do they have here, Dalton? You're the you're the inside man here. What all they got here, brother.

SPEAKER_04

Unbiasedly, they've made the J J Gaming Tent the best tent to be in on the tournament because as behind us, you can see pole number nine, and then on the other side of the tent is hole 18. Every other tent out here is only overlooking one individual green. This one's giving you two, but they got everything you need out here. They got food, they got drinks uh all day long. So you can come out here as early in the morning, first tee off, they're gonna have stuff for you, they take good care of you. But not just this tent only. You can get up, you can walk around all 18 holes, um, get all the action anywhere you want it, man. It's just so much fun. Yeah. Now, Dalton, you've been going around, you've been interviewing some of the players, man. Any cool stories so far? Oh my gosh. I mean, it's just it's incredible to hear their stories, and we put them up on this pedestal, but at the end of the day, they're just guys, right? They're just human beings. And um, a lot of these guys, like their caddies or their wives or their girlfriends, and it's fun being able to interview them and get that just family dynamic. And one thing that they do specific here is we allow players to a sort of sort of live with a family around Panther, this area, for the week of the tournament. And so it's fun hearing them talk about how awesome this community is compared to other places that they go to. Um, this tournament takes really good care of the players, not only the players, but like the caddies and everyone else, and some other tournaments, they don't get that same treatment. And it's all about the players. But here we worry about everyone, we care about everyone. That's why I think Springfield is very unique and special.

SPEAKER_01

Come on, yeah. One thing I really like too about it is the volunteering you get to do out here. I did the walking scores last year, and you're just gonna watch all the players play, learn some tips from them. I mean, being a bad golfer as we are, as we all are here in here. It's pretty awesome to watch these guys just put it five feet from the hole back here and then uh just ask them some questions too because sometimes they'll talk back to them and get to know them a little bit too. Absolutely. And it does take an army to put this thing on.

SPEAKER_03

So if you didn't volunteer this year and it's something that you feel like you'd be willing to do, come on out next year and help help put on this event.

SPEAKER_02

Cool. I mean, I would come out just based off what Dom's just said. Wow. Good job, man.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, they they make it very easy. And so if you haven't been out here, you definitely need to come out here. You're in a if you're a business, you should probably sponsor it. You need to bring some clients out here. There's so many people that come out here every single day that I don't see any other time of the year, which is bad because I'm usually at all the events. So there's a lot of networking going on inside of these tents. But if you're not coming out here business-wise, volunteering is so much fun. That is how I got the gig. Three years ago, iWalking scored. I just built up such a good relationship with Kate and the staff here. The next year, I went off on my own and they're like, We need you out here, Dalton. So, you know, volunteering, doing things to the community, not expecting anything in return, usually brings you more return back. So that was a fun, little unique story. Come on.

SPEAKER_03

Trushed it, Dalton. Everybody wants to see you on a full-length episode, man. We're calling you out right now.

SPEAKER_04

I know. I wanted to slim down a little bit, but I didn't have it. Oh, you look great, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Come on. He's got he does have ways to make you look skinnier. So I use AI for that.

SPEAKER_03
