Hello and welcome back to another episode of NextGen on Elevate Springfield. I'm Ellie and I'm here with my dad.

SPEAKER_03

Why, hello, Ellie. Another 10X day here in Springfield, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

It's always a 10X day though in my life, though. What about yours?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'd say so. Yeah. Mindset shift. But before we get into anything, I would like to humbly and kindly point out the thing right behind my father's head. Kind of off to the left.

SPEAKER_03

The left of me, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It looks awesome. I don't know who got him that, but I don't know. It looks real nice. It matches the aesthetic and everything. It's really cute. It's Mickey Mouse.

SPEAKER_03

Looks like Steamboat Willie to me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Steamboat Willy, Mickey Mouse.

SPEAKER_03

It's pretty cool. Yeah. I would say thank you to Miss Ellie right here. She got that for me for my birthday. She knows how big of a fan I am of, well, Disney in general, but specifically the old school Steamboat Willie and Waltz and all the all the old stuff like that. So she's gave me a Steamboat Willie bobblehead, and I thought it looked great in the studio alongside all the 10X stuff. So there we go.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, so everyone better say happy birthday in the comments. It was a few weeks ago, but this is my first podcast since your birthday.

SPEAKER_03

No, not the first podcast, but the first podcast.

SPEAKER_02

My first podcast since your birthday. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Correct.

SPEAKER_02

Since your birthday. So yes. Yes, it is. I haven't been on the podcast since your birthday. Yeah, yeah, we have.

SPEAKER_03

Because my birthday was on the 7th. And today, yeah, you because you had one on the you had one last week.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we just Oh, we weren't in here though.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, we didn't. We didn't record from the studio. So yes, this is your first one.

SPEAKER_02

So yes, say happy birthday in the comments. It was a while ago, but say it anyways, because I said so.

SPEAKER_03

There you go. Yeah, I think it works well with the 10X day core because it's it's black and white because it's Steamboat Willie. Yeah. It was black and white. It's fun.

SPEAKER_02

We're having a super 10X day.

SPEAKER_03

I would say so. But everybody should have a super 10X day every single day. And there's probably a lot of things you could do to make that happen, don't you think?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. I think so. But I'm not I'm not really getting any examples in my brain, though. So I need some of your intellectualism, wisdom ism.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So are you are you telling me that's what you want to talk about today?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that's a good thing.

SPEAKER_03

10x in a in your daily life.

SPEAKER_02

And if I ever say dumb words, it's because I want to. It's not because I don't know how to say words. It's because I like to have use bad grammar sometimes.

SPEAKER_03

Intentionally use bad grammar?

SPEAKER_02

Like wisdomism, that's not a thing, but it's because I said I said intellectualism before, so I had to add another one at the end of it. So I promise I'm not stupid. I'm very educated.

SPEAKER_03

With what was that? Wisdomism?

SPEAKER_02

We're not going to talk about that. Okay. That's not the topic of today. So how can we implement 10x principles and policies, if you want to call it that, into our daily lives? Because we talk a lot about 10x stuff, but I think one of the biggest things is how does that work in daily practice and how does that get put into normal things?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. No, I mean that's the great thing about 10x, is it can be it can be used, utilized every single day throughout your daily life in all areas of your life. The first thing being before all the other stuff even comes into play, really, is what you mentioned a minute ago. You said it offhand. So I don't know if anybody really heard it, but you said the mindset shift. The 10x mindset shift is really what it all starts with. And when we're talking about the mindset shift, it's talking about what is possible, taking what you originally might have thought was impossible and saying, hey, this is possible. Let's just figure out a way to do it. If you put enough time, energy, and money behind it, you can get it done. It's the mindset shift of what was once impossible, what was once something that you thought that could never be me. I could never have a business like that, I could never do this, flipping that switch to saying, How can I do that? How can I make that all happen?

SPEAKER_02

So And I think that's a really dangerous like rhetoric or mindset to have in your brain, too, that I can't, I can't, I can't, because it's just, it's not good for you. It's not good for your mental health, it's not good for everybody else. I mean, obviously we want to be realistic. However, if you think that in one way, that is a fairly achievable thing if you put in the effort, then you're gonna start thinking that in other things. And like it could start seeping into yourself, your self-worth, all of that stuff. So exactly.

SPEAKER_03

No, and like you said, that that's a dangerous mindset. I mean, I always wear this. You see it on me every single day, no matter where we go. Got my no negativity allowed bracelet on, the be positive on the other side. And that's really what it's about. If you're constantly telling yourself this can't be done, or I can't do this, or I'm not good enough to do that, that's not good for your mental state at all. So, and you're not gonna be able to achieve anything if you keep on thinking that way about yourself. You have to flip that script and say, hey, I am awesome.

SPEAKER_02

I am quit with the woe is me.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. Well, and what is over your head on your episode, which is typically over my head, it's one of my favorite quotes from GC, and it's applies here very succinctly, is you are greatness, don't fight it. So get out there and switch that mindset. Make sure you think you can do this because you can. And you were talking about the you know, being realistic. It takes just as much energy energy to think big as it does to think small. So why not think big and think massive, think that you can do great things rather than just, well, I can do this little bit and then this little bit more. So and that can start with that mindset shift. It's about believing in yourself. You can start getting giving yourself affirmations. You know, Chris, you love Chris, right? He has an affirmation that he says every day. He's, you know, he's healthy, wealthy, and there's has infinite potential and possibilities in his life. That's a that's that's 10x in a nutshell, right there, when you're talking about the mindset shift. So you can start saying those affirmations just to constantly reframe your mindset and get you on the right path away from negativity to positivity and ultimately to that 10x mindset.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I think I really appreciate the positive mindset because I know you've talked about this about how, you know, most of the world is negative. That's what sells, that's what gets views, et cetera, et cetera. But on the mental health side of it, like I've completely changed my mindset over the past like three years. Like I used to be anxious. The only time I've been anxious, like sick, anxious this year, is before my driver's test.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And I crushed it. I did awesome.

SPEAKER_02

So it was it was okay. It was okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we talked about that last episode. How you crushed it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but one of my mindset shifts that was, and you know, we can talk about this until we're blue in the face, but until you decide to take it up, that's what matters. So, and it just it comes when it comes. And that's what I'm getting to is that one of my mindset shifts was what's gonna happen is gonna happen. And I think I personally think it really ties into my Christian values as well, because my worth is found in God. And that's one thing that I've really put effort into lately. But so for my driver's test, I've really switched my brain to when I start worrying, it's like, what if I'm not gonna get away if I do horrible? But I always just like, well, it's either part of the plan that I get it on the first try, or I suck really bad at it and then I gotta do it again. But that's gonna happen anyway. So you might as well not worry about it. Yes, prepare as much as you can, but what's gonna happen is always gonna happen. So, like, I don't see any point in worrying about it. Kind of like how the Bible says that do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has its own problems. Whenever I start worrying, it's like I allow the worry to be there, but then I kind of just combat it and I'm like, well, if I meant to fail it, it's gonna happen. So that's what's gonna happen anyway.

SPEAKER_03

So I guess Well, and to tie the 10x side into that is on the worry side. In 10x, you're gonna take so much action and you're gonna be so committed to what you're doing that the worry is not gonna be there because you're gonna know that, hey, I went, I went a hundred percent on this. I I could not give any more. So if I crush it, I crush it. If I fall short, I fall short. But I gave a hundred percent, I was fully committed, I took massive action to get it done, and that's the outcome. So now we're talking about the mindset shift. That's the first part, and then the second part you touched on a little bit too. But the biggest thing with 10x is the action. There's a lot of people that can get motivated by having a mindset shift, whether it's 10x or a different mindset shift. A lot of people can get motivated, but it's the discipline to taking the action that really is what matters in 10x because we can all talk a great game. We can say all these great platitudes to where, hey, if we do this, everything's gonna be lovely and we're gonna be successful and all this stuff. But if we don't leave here today and take the action necessary to get that stuff done, then nothing ever changes. Nobody ever succeeds in anything. So a lot of what 10X is is strategies embedded into your daily life, whether that's business or personal or professional, right? And taking massive action behind that. So a few things that you could do every single morning to get you on the right track is write your goals down every day. That is a big thing in 10x to start your day off on the right foot of why you're doing what you're doing. And these could be big, massive goals. You know, hey, I want to be, I want to be worth $10 million, $20 million, whatever. I want to own a Rolls-Royce and this and that, whatever. But write those down every single morning. That way you are starting your day with, hey, this is my goal. This is what I'm trying to do. And then you can come up with a battle plan for that day on what are some steps I can take today to get me to that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And I see 10X as building on my religion, if that makes sense. Cause I see 10x as also, I just I want to touch on the mental health side, I guess, as well, because I see it as my Christianity and my faith in God is the foundation. And then 10X helps me, it's a building block because I have my foundation. I have the confidence in myself from God. And I have that also mindset shift. It's just like, oh, well, I'll try my best, but I guess we'll just see what happens. Mindset. And then, like, let's say, oh, I want to read this much in the Bible. Then 10X is like, it helps me. It's the motivation side, it's the encouragement side, it's the action side that's taking action.

SPEAKER_03

Because it really is. That's what 10x is all about. It is taking action. That's the only time in the world. I never want ever gets done.

SPEAKER_02

It sounds not like a separate religion, but it's just another thing on top of it. It's not a full separate thing way over here. Like it's a building block on top of whatever else you're on, whether you are part of a religion or you're not, or you're only with the relationship side, you're atheist, whatever. It's just a building on top of whatever you already.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because we talk about in 10x, we talk about the super life. And if you listen to the show, you've heard me do a full episode on the super life. But similar to what you are saying, 10x, if you have a 10x mindset, you want to have goals and you want to be extraordinary in all these different areas. That's your business, your professional life, your family life, your spirituality. Just like you said, 10x is almost like an add-on to your Christianity because it's a lot, it's encouraging you to take more action and be more intentional. Serve more in your church. Do this, do this. Yeah. And then the other parts of the of the super life, you've got your your health, you know, taking care of your body, you've got your recreational, where we like traveling a lot. So we have goals around those type of things. So it's about being extraordinary in every area of your life, but some daily things you can do are those goals. It is a big first step. Now, in each one of those categories, especially in the business side, because you know, with my coaching company with Chris, we have a lot of different strategies, a lot of different curriculum we can run businesses through and a lot of different strategies and systems that are proven systems to put in place to help businesses grow. But it is just as important, if not more, on the personal side, the familial side to make sure that you are being extraordinary in those areas and putting in the action necessary in those areas.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And I think what 10X looks like in your normal day-to-day life. Like I have an example, I have my planner at home, right? And it has the days on it. Duh, that's kind of a given. Could you imagine a planner that has days in it?

SPEAKER_03

No, I've never seen one like that.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's so weird. That's a weird thing to have. It's got like three days on each page. So I will just, my mom and sister just left for camp, right? So she gave me a list like, here, here's some things that I need you to get done and that you have for this week. So you can write them down. So for example, there's multiple things on there. And then I add my own things to those days. For example, I want to clean my room. So I add it to Friday. It does help me to write down all of my things for the day when I get up. And then I'm like, okay, I will do these things today. And if I don't get one of the things done that I can push to another day, I'm like, okay, it's fine. Like, okay, I'll do that. But I do often fall into the trap of going solo where I'm like, oh yeah, well, that can just wait, even though I should be doing it. Right. So it's finding a good balance. Like, don't push yourself so hard to where you're like drained and you feel like you need to be productive all the time, but also don't be like me where you're like, well, I just did one thing, so now I need to rest for five hours.

SPEAKER_03

Well, in 10x on the occasion.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Very much what you're talking about. We talk about time blocking. And I've talked about that on the weekend shows before, where what we'll encourage folks to try during the day, a good strategy is to block out your day in 15-minute chunks because you'd really be surprised how much you can get done in 15 minutes if you really put your mind to it. So that could be part of your the night before or the morning of. Put together your plan for the day and put it into 15-minute chunks. Hey, each chunk has a name. This is what I'm going to do during that time. It really allows you to prioritize things too, because like you were talking about, there might be some things where, well, that's not very high value today. I could move, I could move that to tomorrow if need be, if I have a lot of other high value things that need to be done today. But to your point there with the putting things off, when we talk about in 10x, when we're talking about putting things off and procrastinating, we're talking about leaving cycles open. So you don't want to have open cycles. You want to close the cycle. Whether that's, hey, I need to call so-and-so and have that conversation, close that so it's off my mind. And I think you have some of that in you too, where you innately want to close the cycle, right? Oh, there's there's a couple extra dishes that haven't been cleaned yet. Let's clean close the cycle. You need to that might be a that might be a stretch for you, but it is a it is with other things. Yeah, it's a really easy example of an open cycle. And when we leave cycles open in our mind, it takes up space. You're thinking about so you've had this these instances before where you just have these things that aren't quite taken care of, yeah. Or you haven't quite had the closure you want with them, and they're just sitting in your brain and you're thinking about and it's taking your mind off of the things that you could be doing. So Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that makes total sense. And I completely agree with that. But I don't think it's necessarily, I don't think everything is putting it off. Like, for example, if I most of the time when this happens, when I put something off to the next day, I assume it's gonna be a slow day. Right. And then it's like, actually, wait, we have to run 18 errands today and hop all around town and do a bunch of stuff. And then I get home at like five, and then I have to eat dinner, and then I gotta hang out with you before I go to sleep. And then I'm like, well, I have no time to clean my room now. So then I'm like, okay, well, I thought I'd have the time to do this today because it'd be a slow day, but it wasn't a slow day. So I can put that on another day now.

SPEAKER_03

Sure, sure. But I would encourage you to try the time blocking one day. Just try it.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, so what exactly is it?

SPEAKER_03

So it is it is literally take your planner, and I've got a 10X planner I could give you if you want that actually has them down. But I don't know, does your day planner have time set out or is it just the day?

SPEAKER_02

It's just the day. And it has like lines.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so all the different lines you could put them on there. So I mean, there's not a ton of lines. Well, we could still go down, or we could put on another sheet of the side.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're yeah, but they're like they're like obnoxiously long lines. They're like five or six lines and they're just like really long.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'll just I'll make you a little word document. We'll print it off. And it's so it's essentially you start at eight o'clock or whatever time you're gonna wake up that day, right? So eight to eight fifteen, this is what I'm gonna do. Eight fifteen to eight thirty, this is what I'm gonna do.

SPEAKER_02

So like a vlog on Instagram, basically. Well, kind of. I've been seeing so many of those. It's just they're just like my Disney morning routine, and it's like eight to eight thirty, breakfast TV show, eight thirty to nine, get ready, nine to nine thirty, get to park.

SPEAKER_03

Right, you know? Yeah, so very similar, but making sure each 15 minutes and each hour has a name. This is what I'm going to do. Because G C would always say the devil is in the white space. So if he said if you ever if you want to meet the devil, have white space in your calendar because when people aren't busy, when they're just floating around, not really anything to do, that's when they're getting into trouble or doing some things that aren't productive for themselves. So it's just a way to put that out there.

SPEAKER_02

I agree, but I also love my white space, not gonna lie. I'd be watching my movies. You do have a little white space in your calendar. I have I have some productivity in my white space.

SPEAKER_03

I've become accustomed to not having much white space on my calendar.

SPEAKER_02

That's why you can't ever read any books, dude.

SPEAKER_03

I'll get some reading done in the morning before the four hours I'm up before you wake up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'll wake up in the middle of the night, and that's literally when you get up. And I'm like, I'll I'll I'll be having a hard time getting to sleep, and I'll wake up at five, and then I'm just like, I hear dad downstairs.

SPEAKER_03

He's already up getting doing his thing.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, that sounds awful. But I've uh I've been liking the videos that I've been seeing lately of people maximizing their day even if they don't get up like super early. Obviously, it depends on your day-to-day. Like you have a lot going on during the day, so it makes complete sense for you to wake up early and get those things done and be disciplined like that. And then there's other people that don't have as much going on and they think they need to wake up super early to be productive. When yes, that can be a benefit. However, I've been seeing a lot of videos of girls being like, I just woke up at noon, let's maximize the rest of our day. Because people fall into the trap often of if you get up early or if you do this, then the whole day's tanked. Like those videos that I've shown you. Sorry, I keep going back to videos like when you spill a little bit of coffee and then they just pour the rest of the thing out. That's kind of what it is. It's like, oh crap, I woke up at 11. My entire day is ruined. Yeah. And it's like just pouring out the rest of the cup.

SPEAKER_03

I have seen those like that. Yeah, I've seen those.

SPEAKER_02

Crap, I ate one cookie. Now I gotta splurge. I just gotta eat the whole pack. Hey, hey, hey, hey, don't, don't.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I wasn't throwing it at you. I wasn't saying throwing shade at me.

SPEAKER_02

It's not what I was saying. I was saying that, oh no, I ate one cookie. Now I can't eat healthy the rest of the day because this isn't a good healthy day.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, that sounds like you were referring to yourself.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not projecting whatsoever.

SPEAKER_03

Sounds like you were projecting.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not. I'm not a projector.

SPEAKER_03

I'm glad you said projecting because for some reason, projecting, I was trying to find projecting in my brain and it didn't come out. I was like, another word, another word wasn't coming out. It happens sometimes, I guess. Yes, it does. I guess another quick thing you could do, just daily life that could have something to do with business, could be your personal life, could you be your spirituality. Say yes to opportunity. There's been a lot of times that I've been asked to do things and I'd say yes, thinking in the back of my mind, man, I've never done anything like that. I don't know. I've I mean, I don't know if I should do that or not, but say yes to opportunity. Every time I've done that, it's come out great on the other end. So many more opportunities have come because of it. I would just say don't be afraid to say yes to things, even if they feel like they're outside of your comfort zone. Because, like we've talked, when you're outside of your comfort zone, when you have a little bit of that, what do you do? You grow, right?

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know that was a rhetorical question. I thought you were gonna expect me to answer it. Well, I was about to, and then I was like, I just saw it in my eyes, and I was like, wait, what am I supposed to say?

SPEAKER_03

Saw the deer in the headlight look. I'm like, I better just finish this one.

SPEAKER_01

But yes, I know now.

SPEAKER_02

I know I know what you're referring to now.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yes, yes. We've talked about that on multiple occasions.

SPEAKER_02

I retained that information. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

But there's really so much, so much you could do to embed it into your life. I would recommend the stuff we talked about today. Go back and listen to some of my weekend episodes that I do on Saturdays and Sundays. That's where I really dive into some more of the 10x methodology, 10x strategies, 10x mindset, other ways that you can embed that into your life. Of course, if you want to have a conversation with me about it, just give me a shout and I can tell you all about it. What'd you think about that? That cadence right there at the end. You looked at me weird when I said owl about it. You're still looking at me weird. Yeah, I was trying something. I guess it didn't work. Yeah. Whatever. Kind of fell flat. I did fall flat. I could see it in your eyes. Yep. Everybody fails at some point, I guess.
