Summary

Mari is a somatic psychotherapist, trauma therapist, international brainspotting trainer, shamanic practitioner, and one of the most genuinely layered humans we've had on this show. Her story moves through immigration, addiction, homelessness, eight trips to rehab, a psychic awakening that looked nothing like the wellness industry version — and eventually, a single brainspotting session that changed the entire trajectory of her life and work.

In this conversation we get into all of it. What brainspotting actually is, why it works when talk therapy doesn't, and what's really happening in your brain and body when you find a spot. What it means to carry your ancestors' unfinished business in your nervous system right now. Why most of Western therapy has it backwards. And what she's learned from decades of sitting with people in their absolute darkest places (including her own).

We also go somewhere most wellness conversations don't — into the shadow, the unseen, and what it actually looks like to work with energies that aren't exactly warm and fuzzy.

This one is dense, rich, and genuinely unlike anything we've recorded. Come curious.
