Your mind doesn’t need more pressure to “focus.” It needs permission to be selective. We’re guiding a calming, story-driven meditation that invites you to borrow the perspective of a crow, a creature known for intelligence, pattern recognition, and careful attention. From a steady perch high in a tree, we practice seeing the world in layers: the wide view, the small details, and the quiet truth of what actually matters.

Welcome to Breathe and Be. I'm Miri Ann, and I'm so glad you're here. Take a moment to settle in, allowing your body to rest in a way that feels supportive. There's nothing you need to do right now. Nowhere you need to go.

SPEAKER_00

You're just gently arriving.

SPEAKER_01

In today's meditation, we are stepping into the perspective of a crow. A bird known for its intelligence, curiosity, and careful attention to the world around it. Crows are often collectors, not out of randomness, but out of observation, drawn to objects that feel interesting, meaningful, or worth remembering. They are problem solvers, highly social, and known to recognize patterns and human faces. Their attention is layered, intentional. Nothing is taken without some kind of inner noticing. For this practice, you'll be invited to experience that way of being, to notice, to choose, and to let go.

SPEAKER_00

Now if it feels right for you, take a slow breath in, and a gentle breath out. Again, breathe in, then breathe out one more time. In out and when you're ready, we'll begin.

SPEAKER_01

Imagine now you're high above the ground. You're perched on a branch of a tall, steady tree.

SPEAKER_00

You are the crow.

SPEAKER_01

You are not just seeing the world. You are noticing it in layers. Not everything is ignored, not everything is taken in.

SPEAKER_00

You are always discerning, always curious.

SPEAKER_01

Your feathers are sleek, blue-black, catching the light and subtle flashes as you shift. Each movement smooth and with purpose. The branch beneath you sways gently in the wind. Not enough to unsettle you. Just enough to remind you that you are part of something living. You are steady. You are aware. From here you can see everything. Fields stretching out in quiet patterns. Small glints of light scattered across the ground.

SPEAKER_00

Your attention is precious, intentional.

SPEAKER_01

You are drawn to certain things not by accident, but by instinct, by pattern, by meaning. Only you can sense.

SPEAKER_00

Something catches your attention.

SPEAKER_01

A small object. There's a slight sparkle, then a flash of light as the sun hits it just right. You consider it. You tilt your head to focus better.

SPEAKER_00

Your body is straight, and your beak is angled toward the object. There is no urgency here, no pressure to decide quickly, just noticing. This is what you do.

SPEAKER_01

You notice, consider, decide what belongs with you and what does not. When you're ready, you lean back on the branch while you spread your wings. You feel the air move beneath you. A strong, steady lift, a bob of the branch with a rustle of leaves.

SPEAKER_00

There is a quiet rush, wind slipping between your glossy feathers.

SPEAKER_01

You glide downward, controlled aware, landing softly near the object.

SPEAKER_00

You pause. Nothing is required here, only noticing.

SPEAKER_01

You don't have to take it, you don't have to leave it.

SPEAKER_00

You simply stay with it for a moment, letting it be seen fully.

SPEAKER_01

You cock your head from side to side in quick mechanical movements, studying the object with your eyes before delivering a small tink with your beak to check if the object is alive.

SPEAKER_00

If you choose to pick it up, feel the small, precise movement, a careful grip, light but intentional. You might turn it. Observe its shape, its weight, its texture. Notice what happens in your body as you consider each option to keep it or to leave it. There's no right answer.

SPEAKER_01

Only what feels true to you. If you keep it, you carry it with intention. Something chosen, not taken without thought. If you leave it, you step back, allowing it to remain where it belongs. Nothing wasted, nothing wrong. When you're ready, you lift again. Wings opening wide, air catching beneath you, rising, returning to your branch, settling once more into the soft sway of the tree. From here you see again the wide view, the small details, the quiet movement of everything below.

SPEAKER_00

And within you, a steady knowing.

Return To Body And Reflect

SPEAKER_01

You don't need to take everything in. Like the crow, you are allowed to choose with care and trust that not everything is meant to be kept. You can notice, you can choose, and you can release. Notice your fingers, your toes, maybe a slow roll of the shoulders if that feels supportive.

SPEAKER_00

Reconnecting slowly and gently.

SPEAKER_01

Before you move on, you might ask yourself, what feels worth holding on to right now?

SPEAKER_00

And what can I gently let be? No need to answer right away. Just letting the question sit.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you for taking this time out of your day. Until next time, be gentle with yourself and take good care.
