Breathe and Be
A Guided Spring Meditation For Stress Relief
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We guide a quiet breath-led meditation that helps us settle our bodies and trust the natural rhythm of breathing. We step into an early spring scene and use sound, scent, and imagery to practice letting go and allowing small growth to be real.
Have a meditation idea you'd love to hear? I’d be delighted to bring it to life! Feel free to share your thoughts by emailing me at therapy@maryannmsw.com
Welcome And Settle Into Breath
SPEAKER_00Hello, and welcome to Breathe and Be. I'm Marianne, and I'm so glad you're here.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead and take a moment to settle in. Allow your body to arrive just as it is today. Gently bring awareness to your breath. No need to change it. Just noticing the natural rhythm. The quiet rise and fall.
Step Into An Early Spring Day
Hear Spring Moving Around You
SPEAKER_00And if your breath feels uneven or shallow, that's okay to trust that your body knows exactly what it needs. Your breath will soften in its own time. Now imagine yourself stepping outside on an early spring day. The air greets you soft and fresh. A gentle warmth touches your skin while a slightly cool breeze moves past you. Just enough to remind you that the seasons are still shifting. You glance down, the ground beneath you is no longer dull or frozen. Instead, soft green grass stretches out. New, tender, alive. Each blade feels like a quiet beginning. Nearby you notice the trees, branches that once felt empty now hold tiny buds, small, delicate signs of what's to come, hints of leaves just beginning to unfold. There is no rush in them, only a quiet trust in becoming. Soft purples, pale pinks, whites, each one rising in its own time. No comparison, no urgency, just gentle unfolding. As you continue to stand here, the sound of spring begins to surround you. In the distance, sneakers squeak against pavement. Steady and rhythmic. You hear the familiar creak of chains from a swing set.
SPEAKER_01Back and forth, back and forth. And laughter, light, carefree, carried on the breeze from a nearby park. Life moving again. Now bring your awareness to the sense around you.
SPEAKER_00The earthy smell of soil being turned, rich grounding, full of possibility. A faint trace of a backyard grill, warm and comforting. And somewhere nearby, clean linens sway in a clothesline, that crisp, sunwashed scent drifting gently through the air.
SPEAKER_01Take a slow breath here.
SPEAKER_00And as you exhale, notice how your body responds to this space.
Set Down What You Carried
SPEAKER_01Perhaps there's a softening, a lightness, a sense of relief, as if you too are shedding something heavy. Imagine yourself removing a layer, maybe a coat, or something you've been carrying.
SPEAKER_00And as you set it down, feel the ease that follows. The freedom of lighter movement, the quiet joy of not needing so much protection anymore. Spring doesn't rush itself, it doesn't demand perfection. It simply begins again in a small, steady ways, and you are allowed to do the same.
Return To Body And Close
SPEAKER_01Take a moment to gently notice what in you is beginning to soften. What might be ready to grow or change even just a little. Now slowly begin to bring your awareness back. Noticing your breath once more. The rise and fall. Gently becoming aware of your body, the surface beneath you, the space around you. Maybe inviting small movement. Wiggling your fingers, your toes, letting your shoulders roll softly. And as you return, gently carry this with you.
SPEAKER_00Growth doesn't need to be allowed to be real. Even the smallest beginnings matter.
SPEAKER_01Thank you for taking this time to breathe and be.
SPEAKER_00I'll meet you here again soon.
