Brian Colao
Brian A. Colao is a leading authority in the DSO space and the leader of Dykema’s Dental Service Organization Industry Group, which he has helped build into a recognized middle-market leader in DSO buy-side and sell-side transactions. With more than 25 years of legal experience, Brian focuses on healthcare regulatory matters, healthcare M&A, business litigation, and complex commercial disputes, with a significant emphasis on the dental and professional services industries.
Brian has helped shape the legal and compliance framework for the DSO model through precedent-setting work involving corporate practice of dentistry and fee-splitting laws. He also advises DSOs, MSOs, lenders, and private equity investors on transactions, regulatory compliance, litigation, and business structure. Brian is the founder of Dykema’s Definitive Conference for Dental Service Organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of Women in DSO.
