Ep. 35 From Overwhelmed to Calm: A Guided EFT Tapping Session for Moms with Amy Vincze

If you’ve ever found yourself standing in the kitchen, heart racing, noise all around, and thinking “I can’t do this right now”—you’re not alone.

Motherhood can feel like one long to-do list where your name always comes last. Between caring for your kids, managing a home, and trying to hold onto some sense of who you are, it’s easy to lose your cool—and yourself—in the process.

That’s why this week’s episode of Let’s Get Real might be one of the most powerful we’ve ever done.

I sat down with Amy Vincze, an EFT Tapping Coach who has spent over 16 years helping people release stress, anxiety, and the emotional overload that so many moms carry daily. In our last conversation, Amy explained what tapping is and why it works.

This time, we put it into practice—together.
It’s an episode you can experience in real time.

What is EFT Tapping and Why Does It Work?

EFT—short for Emotional Freedom Techniques—is a science-backed, body-based practice that helps you release stress and regulate your nervous system. Amy describes it as a combination of:

  1. Energy healing (like acupuncture, but using gentle tapping on acupressure points instead of needles).
  2. Cognitive therapy (naming what you want to release while you tap).
  3. Somatic therapy (bringing your awareness back into your body so you can feel safe again).

Facing the “Negative” Feelings We Try to Avoid

One of the biggest misconceptions about tapping is that it’s “negative” because it starts by focusing on hard emotions—like overwhelm, fear, or sadness.

Amy explains that this isn’t dwelling on the negative; it’s giving those emotions a pathway out.

“We’ve been conditioned to push down uncomfortable feelings and just put on a happy face. But the truth is, avoidance doesn’t make them go away—it just traps them in our bodies.”

By naming the emotion and allowing yourself to feel it, you open the door for release. And that release is what brings calm back into your mind and body.
