The Health Huns

Ep.25 Lily Allen, Health and Fitness House of Horrors, Ghost Stories

Rhiannon Riley-Tims and Amber Green Episode 25

What if the scariest thing in fitness isn’t a burpee, but a panel of blokes explaining the menstrual cycle? Our Halloween special turns the gym into a haunted house and tours every room you secretly dread: MLM pitches at the door, sleds blocking every path, “high protein, low calorie” echoing like a curse, and denim-clad grunters who treat the rack like a stage. We laugh, we roast, but we also get honest about boundaries, ethics, and how to create a gym culture that actually feels good.

Along the way, we share wins from the week: a 90‑day “fitter, faster, stronger” block gathering steam, steady 5Ks that feel better than they look, and simple markers like resting heart rate, sleep, and fuelling that change everything. No hacks, no noise—just consistent training, manageable runs, and routine meals that leave you energised. If your watch nags, that’s data; if it stresses you out, that’s a cue to take it off. We keep the advice human and the tone hopeful.

For the proper chills, we retell a brilliant Reddit story about a haunted gym—alarms tripping, showers running, plates clanging with no one there—and swap our own eerie encounters. Whether you’re a sceptic or a believer, it’s a reminder that spaces hold stories. The best gyms turn down the fear and turn up the welcome, so beginners aren’t spooked by noise, clutter, or the cult of intensity. We wrap with a playful nod to mediums, tarot, and the thrill of not knowing what comes next, plus plans for more off-topic fun on Patreon.

If you love a little chaos with your kettlebells, hit play, subscribe, and leave a five-star review. Share this Halloween special with a friend who’s seen a ghost in the free-weights room—or just a guy lifting in jeans. What’s your scariest gym ick?

Thank you for listening!

SPEAKER_01:

I never had a goth phase, an emone phase, like I had none of that. I was just a lesbian.

SPEAKER_00:

Hello and welcome to the Health Huns, the pod where we discuss the messy side of health and fitness.

SPEAKER_01:

From gym fails to newfound communities.

SPEAKER_00:

We're here to help you feel like less of a failure and find your place in the messy world of health and fitness.

SPEAKER_01:

Hello and welcome to the Health Huns. Episode 26. Halloween special. Ooh, I have dressed up as a goth for you. Thank you. I'm just in black because that's I've got a pink top on to be fair. I'm not walking. Or fitness goth. I am a fitness goth. Do you know I never had a goth phase, an emone phase. Like I had none of that. I was just a lesbian.

SPEAKER_00:

I wasn't. I I think people always think that I was a goth, or that I still am, but I have never really. I was a bit of a chav when I was a teenager.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, if I was gonna be in any category, it probably would have been chav.

SPEAKER_00:

Like I lived in Lower Stoft, that was just the vibe. And then when I was a bit older, I guess I was a bit more like started to find my style. But even now, I just wear what I like. I don't think I'm anything.

SPEAKER_01:

No, I can't, I actually don't have the finesse to be into fashion.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I I think I'm into fashion, but actually I wear the same like five things on rotation.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'm all for feeling comfortable in your clothes and what makes you feel good, and then you look fashionable anyway, I think. Exactly. But this isn't a fashion podcast, is it? Maybe, maybe it should be. I just feel like we should be more flexible with our topics, and that's what we've done today, haven't we? Yes. Because whilst I am a health and fitness professional and you are a participant in the health and fitness world, there is a limit to our knowledge.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, and I mean, I just love to have a gossip and just come on here and have a chat.

SPEAKER_01:

I think we should start. I want people to start sending us in like gossip and tea about like the fitness world. I will name no names or make it completely anonymous, but we just want to discuss it. Like personal trainers sleeping with their clients is one of my favourite topics of all times.

SPEAKER_00:

I do know some gossip about a personal train. Well, I do know some gossip about a personal trainer that was sleeping with one of his clients.

SPEAKER_01:

No.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

At the same time or in separate sessions? I don't know if they were separate sessions or at the same time, but I mean it'd be hard to form that kind of relationship if you're doing a double session, wouldn't it? Just the husband. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00:

The husband's bird wheeling. Maybe they were like having double sessions, and then she was like, I'm just gonna have some just gonna have some one-to-one sessions.

SPEAKER_01:

See, first, yeah, I mean, I I've always been with my my current wife. Always. Always, like since I started first on training, like I got with her just before I qualified. So like that's never been a thing that's ever crossed my mind of my clients. And also, I'm professional.

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01:

I just don't think gyms are sexy environments.

SPEAKER_00:

No, no, they're not. I told you, didn't I, the other day, when I was at um Nuffield and I was on the treadmill, and then I was gonna end with a row, and one of the PTs was like there was a girl that had been hanging around, um, and she'd been on the step machine, and then she sort of walked away, and then she came back, and her and the personal trainer both went on the rowing machines, and I was like, Is this a date? This is weird. So I went, I was like, Well, I'm not gonna not go on the rowing machine because like this is what my plan is, and I went over and went on the rowing machine, and like I think there's four in a row, and there was like they were on the end, on two on the end, I went on the one on the other end. So there was a row machine between us, and uh as soon as I started rowing, they fucked off. I was like, that's a bit weird. It is a little bit weird, but yeah, right in interrupting.

SPEAKER_01:

If you know of any like Gym T secret affairs, drama, gossip, I don't even care if I we're in different countries.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, yeah, because we we've got our follower in Texas Dallas, yeah, Dallas, Texas, and West Lothian International.

SPEAKER_01:

Tell us what's going on. Um, but how's your week been? Well my week.

SPEAKER_00:

My week has been 10 out of 10, and do you know why? Why? Because Lily Allen has dropped the album of the year. Of the last five years, I think. Maybe I love the album. Me too. I don't even I've I've always liked her music, like, and I sort of like her, but also don't like her. But I think that's maybe her thing, isn't it? She's she's controversial, um, but I think every person that has listened to it is just like loves it. I've had it on repeat.

SPEAKER_01:

I just think it's the brutal honesty of it all, and like no stone has been left unturned. And I also just love it when a man gets dragged, when he deserves to be like dragged through the dirt, which also he's always made me cringe. Has he? Yeah, because I remember watching that architectural, was it? Um architectural digest, the little series I do on YouTube. I remember watching um Lily's one. Lily's like my best friend, Lily Allen's one.

SPEAKER_00:

My best buddy Lily.

SPEAKER_01:

And I just looked at him and I thought, oh, you're so like big-headed, narcissistic, taking up the space, just thinking you're hilarious. And I thought, fuck.

SPEAKER_00:

See, I haven't really seen a lot of him in like the real world, I've only really seen him in Stranger Things, and I like his character in Stranger Things was grumpy but quite nice, which I like a grumpy man if they're quite nice deep down inside. And um I I liked him in Stranger Things and I thought he's a nice guy, and he isn't. He isn't, but yes, but he hates him.

SPEAKER_01:

A very, very good album. I've enjoyed listening to it. And if you haven't listened already and you love gossip and tea and drama like we do, it it's a gift that keeps on giving, really.

SPEAKER_00:

And then you can go on Reddit and go on a deep dive into who is Madeline and everything. If you've got the time on your hands, yes. I've got the time for that.

SPEAKER_01:

So out of ten, your week's been a ten. Yeah. Fantastic. You've been gymming a lot as well, haven't you?

SPEAKER_00:

I have been gymming a lot, yes. I'm enjoying the gym.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Not enjoying running.

SPEAKER_01:

You really just love hate with that. Like you were, it was only a couple of weeks ago. You were really into it again.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, I was I wasn't really into it again. Um I just think I don't mind. I'm just trying to do like two and a half, three and a half K a few times a week to keep my to keep my foot in the door with running. I you know, I could and if you can do three and a half K, you can do five K.

SPEAKER_01:

And do five K, you can do ten K.

SPEAKER_00:

No.

SPEAKER_01:

No, never again.

SPEAKER_00:

I actually think for Ron Norwich next year I might volunteer.

SPEAKER_01:

I think you said this on the last episode, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. But only if I only if I can hand out medals.

SPEAKER_01:

Maybe you need a new sport hobby. Maybe you need to do like rock climbing or something. I'm talking about rock climbing. No way, I'm not doing rock climbing. I we had a session today in the gym, and Amber's just you know, she's she's a little uh what's the word, touchy?

SPEAKER_00:

I was really grumpy. I don't know if I was grumpy, I just could not be bothered.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. But it's fine. You did do it, and that's what counts. You don't have to turn up with a smile on your face. That's my job. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00:

And you put up with me.

SPEAKER_01:

I do an awful lot of the time.

SPEAKER_00:

How was your week?

SPEAKER_01:

Um, my week was good, had my birthday on Friday, so like a little birthday. Yeah, we had a surprise meal. We did. That was lovely, that was so funny. We really dug deep into Terry Bakes and um Zac It Potato, didn't we?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. Our friend Rachel is obsessed. She is in a it's not even a deep dive, she's just in there.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Knows everything.

SPEAKER_01:

There I and then because I looked at his stuff, he's now on my algorithm on Instagram. And uh I just I mean, I don't know. Good for himself, I guess.

SPEAKER_00:

I don't know why he is I like he's selling those cake boxes, they're£25, and you get four pieces of like cake. I think one's a chocolate oatie, one's like school cake, and then a brownie and a cookie pie slice.£25. People are waiting over six months for them.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I just I'm shocked. I just uh it's interesting, like his business model interests me greatly. I think he can come on as the best because he's on a weight loss journey, isn't he?

SPEAKER_00:

He's on a weight loss journey.

SPEAKER_01:

I watched that today.

SPEAKER_00:

His uh I could not, I could not. He's he is a man and not the kind of man that I like.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Well, Terry Bake. So yes, my birthday. We had a really meal, we uh ate some good sushi while I did. You guys had your vegan stuff. Um yeah, this week back really back on it with my bitter faster stronger. I'm getting fitter, I'm getting faster, I'm getting stronger. I've decided I'm just gonna start posting first traps.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. You have said this before, you just need to keep it up.

SPEAKER_01:

Keep it up, make the women happy. Right lighting, right angles. I think that actually could be how I make my money. And if the people want it, the people want it. Who am I to deny them of it?

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, you can't, it is what the people want. I think people think I'm posting thirst traps when I'm taking a picture of myself in the gym. I just don't know how to take any other picture.

SPEAKER_01:

Should we start taking pictures of each other for our own Instagrams? Maybe, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Because I'm just always there taking a picture in the mirror. Yeah. Because I I don't know how to take any other pictures.

SPEAKER_01:

That's okay. People love you though. People are all all in it for your first trap photos. So, yeah, good week. Done a couple of runs. I did a five full K no stopping, no pain, steady pace, felt great, felt amazing. Gonna do another one tomorrow. I'm feeling strong, I'm feeling fit, I'm sleeping better. I'm on top of my nutrition, like I'm fueling myself well. I'm back into learning stuff, I'm researching, I feel good, and I feel ready to hit the ground running in the new year and really, you know, be damn fitness person.

SPEAKER_00:

So when does fit a faster, stronger end?

SPEAKER_01:

At the end of the year. Okay. So whenever 90 days is up, I'm on day 28. Oh, my resting heart rate has also gone down.

SPEAKER_00:

Which is mine is, but I don't wear my watch that consistently because sometimes it pisses me off when I take it off.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm only taking 11 breaths a minute.

SPEAKER_00:

Mine says that my resting heart rate is 47.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh. Mine's high. Mine's 65. Oh. Oh. My seven day average is 65.

SPEAKER_00:

My seven day average. My seven day average is 55.

SPEAKER_01:

See, you're fit. I'm gonna get mine down. I'm gonna start drinking so much caffeine as well, because that might help. Does it? Well, like caffeine obviously increases your heart rate, doesn't it?

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

How does that how does that help with your rest and heart rate?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, because if if at rest my heart rate is higher because I've been drinking caffeine. Oh, okay. Anyway, boring stuff. My week was good. I had a nine out of a ten week. Lovely stuff. God, we got into some boring topics then, didn't we? I think that's what people want.

SPEAKER_00:

So, what are we talking about today? Well, tomorrow is Halloween. Oh. So we thought we'd keep this episode topical.

SPEAKER_01:

Spooky. So we have both come up with our own version of a health and fitness themed haunted house and what would be in each of our scary rooms as we walk through. Do you want to hit it off or do you want me to go first? I went first last week, so I think you should go first. Okay. Imagine this. You're walking up to a haunted house experience. As you walk up the path, high rocks men no top, just doing burpees along the drive up, okay? Shouting just one more at each other, okay. All the way up. You enter the door, and the first person you see is a Herbalife rep.

SPEAKER_00:

I didn't even know Herbalife was still a thing.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't know. But this is my haunted house telling you, like, trying to get you to be one of their reps, okay? MLM at its finest, shouting about supplements. You go in, and there's people just pushing sleds everywhere. Like sleds full of dead body parts, just up and down, up and down, up and down, and you've got to weave your way through all these athletes. You then go into the next room, it's pitch black, no windows, no light, silent, and then a very low, spooky whisper of a woman starts filtering through saying high protein, low calorie desserts, high protein, low calorie desserts, and it's all you can hear, and it gets louder and louder and louder and louder. And you go through the next room, and there is a panel of men who claim to be women's health coaches telling me, explaining to me about the menstrual cycle.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, that is the true house of horrors. Yeah. That last one is one of my that should have been in last week's episode, because that's such an ick of mine.

SPEAKER_01:

Um, so yeah, that's my my haunted house health and fitness experience. That's terrifying. Pretty terrifying.

SPEAKER_00:

I feel like mine is not as good as yours. I haven't gone to such an effort to create a scene. I'm creative, what can I say? Well, so with mine, you're at an old haunted, spooky house, and it's got a long driveway to get to it. You've been on you're doing a 10k run, you're 4k in, you've got to run down that driveway to get there, and as you get there, you need a Wii, and there's nowhere to go. No toilets, no toilets, so that's not great. That's pretty spooky. You walk in the door, and to your left is a gym. But on your iPhone, um, your period tracker pops up that you're in the luteal phase and you're tired, yeah, and you're grumpy, and your PT is there, and they are telling you to do a workout, and you have to do it anyway. That was you today. That was me today. Period tracker did tell me that I was gonna be very tired. Then you walk up the stairs and you open a door, and in that room is a bunch of men working out. That's not the scary bit. The scary bit is the fact that they are all making loads of noise whilst wearing jeans, wearing jeans, and they're like making horrible men noises and just sweating everywhere. Yeah, yeah. Just sorry, this is your spooky house.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm just like, this would be scary.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, uh, and I I don't think there's much else scarier than that.

SPEAKER_01:

No, it's pretty it'd be a pretty awful experience.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I just I don't know. I found I think because it was quite similar to last week's episode with the ix. I didn't want to just tell you my ix again because they are sort of similar. But I think your last one, men who claim to be experts in women's health, that is the number one thing in any spooky haunted house. Oh my god, I don't even think I can tell you how much I hate that.

SPEAKER_01:

But they're the one, they're the type of people that are like type of guys that try to be like really like understanding and compassionate, and they've probably got some an Instagram page to for boyfriends to like learn how to treat their woman in the different parts of their cycle. Oh like absolutely not.

SPEAKER_00:

Just leave me alone. That's what I want. That's how you treat me at any part of my cycle. Don't talk to me, don't look at me, buy me gifts, and bring me chocolate.

SPEAKER_01:

Pretty much, yeah. So there are haunted spooky houses. Now, to keep with the theme of spooky, I've challenged Amber, who has not done it, to I tried to find a spooky real life. I say real life in like quote marks, um spooky gym story, like a haunted gym story. So I found one on Reddit.

SPEAKER_00:

I did find one on Reddit. I bet it's the same one. Because it wasn't any uh it was like a gym that was haunted.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, probably. Okay, so are we ready for the story? Yes. A little description of the gym first. The building my gym is in has been around for a few decades, I think, but it's by no means old, really. It used to be squash courts with a gym upstairs, but now it is just wall gym. This is the one that I found.

SPEAKER_00:

So it's a good job we didn't both go for it.

SPEAKER_01:

The free weights area is downstairs in what used to be the squash courts. Um, the changing rooms, showers, and pool area are down a short corridor to the right of our area, and the rest of the gym is back down the main corridor and up some wooden stairs. Um there are three main instances which make me think it's haunted, as all rational logic doesn't explain them. One, about six months ago I had been home for about an hour when I got a call from my boss that there was a door alarm going off at the gym, and she wondered if I go check. So I take a look, enter the building, silence the alarm, and see that the pool door that isn't quite closed, that the door pool door isn't quite closed. Before I check it out, I do a sweep of the entire building, I check all the rooms around reception, nothing. I check upstairs, nothing. Check the ladies' changing room, nothing. I go through the ladies' changing room to the pool and close the door properly. Check all the plant room, nothing. I walk through the men's changing room on the way back to the reception, nothing. As I'm walking past, I check the free weights area, nothing. But on my way down the main corridor, as I'm just turning into the reception area, clear as anything, I hear someone shout from just behind me. Um I can't remember what it said, but it was just like they were talking to a friend across the room, kind of shouting, nothing aggressive. And out of the corner of my eye, I see a shadow. I then hear the showers in the male changing rooms turn on. Number one, I've worked in a couple of gyms like this and had to do the clothes, and they are just spooky. Any building you're in on your own is spooky. This hits me up. I'd be out of that place faster than someone doing the 400 metres and high rocks.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So I take off as fast as I can to try and catch the intruders. I make my way all the way down to the pool where everything is as I left it, and I saw no one. No one could have hidden or got past me, it's all too narrow. Second incident. Friday night just gone. My colleagues were closing up. They'd performed the usual checks of all areas. There were no gym members left in the building, so they're turning everything off from the reception area, and then they hear it. Voices coming from the corridor and lockers slamming shut in the male changing rooms. I walk down shouting hello, thinking that maybe they missed someone, but no one is there. They walk back up the corridor as they near reception again, they hear the same thing. Again, they check and no one is there. They locked up quickly and left. Spooky as fuck. Imagine being haunted by gym bros. It's not the one, is it? No. Number three, this afternoon, same scenario. I had been around, checked all the usual areas, made sure all the doors were closed. I had tidied up the weights in the free weights area so everything was away securely, and there was absolutely no members left in the gym. We put the till away in the safe, and then we heard it metal clanging from the free weight area, like someone had just put a loaded bar down or re-racked some weights. We've heard this sound a thousand times, so we know exactly what it is when we hear it, it's unmistakable. So we rushed down the corridor and checked the free weights area. Unsurprisingly, no one is there. There are no weights on the floor or anywhere that might suggest they have fallen. We both look at each other and made sure we both uh we we both look at each other, made sure we both heard the same sound, then quickly left. On the way out we heard voices again but didn't bother to check. Um that's about it. So that's fucking terrifying because did they p die in the gym? Maybe.

SPEAKER_00:

Well people do die in gyms.

SPEAKER_01:

They do, and I just think if ghosts are real and you had a choice, would you stay in the gym?

SPEAKER_00:

Depends how much I wouldn't. If I was a ghost, I've got a list of people that I'd go and haunt. Would you? Who can you name any of them? No, and they're not necessarily people that I don't like. But just for fun.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Have you ever seen a ghost?

SPEAKER_00:

Well, do you know what? When I was young, like at middle school, so my Nan used to live in a place called Summerleighton. And me and my friends were playing in the woods, as you do.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

And then near the train station, there's like these woods, and then there's a big field. And we heard like a dog barking. And we were like, Oh, we should probably get out of here. So we were like scrambling up the top to like because you had to like climb up a big like bank to get out.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Um, and I remember getting to the top first, and I like looked, and my friends came up and they were like, What's wrong with you? You look like you've seen a ghost, and I was like, I think I have. And like I saw a man walk past me, but he didn't like he walked out on the level of the field, but he just carried on walking. Like, he didn't drop down into like the like down into the bank. He just carried on walking, and he was. I mean, this is the this is what annoys why are ghosts always like Victorian people? Like he had like a long black coat on and a top hat.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, this is what this is the thing. You never see someone with like a bob.

SPEAKER_00:

And you never see people from 2003, do you, that died?

SPEAKER_01:

But maybe what it is is the fact that they would blend in a lot more.

SPEAKER_00:

So maybe you do see them.

SPEAKER_01:

So maybe you do see them, but you just assume it's an everyday person. But obviously, someone walking around in a big bowl of hat with a long black coat in old fashioned clothing is gonna stick out a bit more to you.

SPEAKER_00:

And I worked in a salon and we were there really early one morning because we had to like clean as well. Was I an apprentice? If I wasn't an apprentice, I was like early on in my hairdressing career, and we had to get there really early one like Christmas Eve morning to clean and stuff before we were starting. And the salon had like four sections, so there was the front part, then there was a fireplace that kind of separated the second part of the downstairs, and then there was a set of stairs on either side. One went into the staff room, and one went into like an upstairs part of the salon, and like there was CC TV in all four parts of the salon, so you could see everything. And we got in there and we turned the lights on, and we were like doing whatever. The CC TV was on, so you could see all four parts of the salon, and in the upstairs staff room, it sounded like somebody was dragging a chair across the floor, and there was nothing there, and then it sounded like somebody dropped like a two P from the top of the stairs from the like top, the other side, the other stairs to the bottom, and we went and looked, and there was nothing there, so we just ran out screaming.

SPEAKER_01:

I have chills because I'm sat down here on my own in that room I told you about with my mum. Yeah, that's so freaky.

SPEAKER_00:

Some things you know you just can't explain. I mean, you you couldn't explain it. You couldn't, and it was a really old building, really old building.

SPEAKER_01:

Is this the one in the city? Yeah, that one, yeah, that is old, and that whole street is old. So freaky.

SPEAKER_00:

It was so freaky. But do you find like there's some places you go that just feel a bit scary and a bit haunted?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and I have I think there's so many things we have connotations associated with, like if there's woods nearby or if it's a particularly dark building, and I think you can go in already feeling a bit on edge. But then have you ever been into like a relatively modern place and then had that horrible like horse like feeling about it?

SPEAKER_00:

My mum's house feels haunted.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and and in certain areas more so than others.

SPEAKER_00:

Um well, I was always I used to feel alright in my bedroom, but it was like the downstairs, like the dining room, the kitchen.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. See, the paranormal and ghosts, as you know, is one of my special interests.

SPEAKER_00:

Have you ever seen? Tell me about the ghosts you've seen.

SPEAKER_01:

So I've in my like adult memory, I have never seen a ghost, but apparently I used to play with a ghost when I was little in my Nan's old house. So I can have I have like an image of this doll I thought it was, but apparently that didn't exist. So it's just like a what was it called? Uh Jessie. So that's that story. But the m the one I had as like I think I was like 19, I was living with my friend at the time and her brother in the house that they'd lived in for like 20 years, okay. I had the downstairs room, and I always felt really weird between going into my room and just outside that space, it just felt odd to me. Anyway, we did some deep diving. Turns out that that house was the only house on the street that was bombed during the blitz, and the bit of the house that was damaged was my bedroom, and a young girl died there.

SPEAKER_00:

That is freaky, really freaky. Also, do you know what? Like my mum's house. I don't know, maybe I should do a deep dive, but so she Lives she lives in a really weird place. So it's in a place called Alton Broad, and you go down this like road, and it's sort of like all industrial estates, and then there's like two rows of houses, and then a couple of houses, it's near Lake Lothing, and like the road is like it's and if you carry on going past a house, it takes you to this really weird, like just desolate kind of bit of like the lake. It's really weird, and sh she's like an end terrace, but she's weird, like she's the only house that has like sort of like a plot next to it, so there's like a garage and a driveway. But there obviously used to be a house there, so um maybe maybe I don't know. Maybe something happened, yeah. Spooky, spooky. It is spooky, and like I'm trying to think of like houses I've lived in before. Like this house because I am a bit scared of the dark in a weird like the dark is a bit scary, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, the unknown, you're not aware of your surroundings, like it feels like but like this house doesn't ever really feel scary.

SPEAKER_00:

No, I've never had a vibe when I've been around. No, but my mum's house, like I don't know, it just and particularly when I lived there, like if I knew because at the time we didn't, she only had a bathroom downstairs, so I used to have to like go downstairs, go through the house to the bathroom at night. And I just used to hate it. I just used to feel so scared.

SPEAKER_01:

Right now I feel so creeped out. But we used to live in a a flat um Miyameg, and the building was an old factory, and like it was a shoe factory. Um so in the Victorian times, and it's well documented, they had children working there and all these kind of things, right? And we had two levels, we had like a little upstairs, but it was like an office off the main part of the flat. And I remember my mum thinks she's spiritually connected, okay. So she came round and I had said nothing to her about the history of the house, and she was like, Oh, it feels like there's a child's energy here, and like he and and she said it always feels like he's up and down the stairs, like he's in this area, and it's really weird she said that because I'd always felt so like on edge in that particular space in the house before she said anything.

SPEAKER_00:

Maybe you're both connected to the spiritual world.

SPEAKER_01:

Maybe I maybe I'm missing a trick here and I should really get a career going. Yeah. There was this one time, me and Meg were in the kitchen, and we heard this whistle, like a joyful, not like a creepy whistle, but like some sort of whistle. And we were really yeah, and we were high up, and it you didn't ever hear people talking below you because of how high we were, and it wasn't a busy road, and it was clear as day, and it fucked me up. Like I was oh gives me chills just thinking about it. Because even if it's a happy ghost, it's still fucking scary.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, you you say that, and I was just thinking, like, a couple of years ago, I had a client and who was sitting where I'm sitting right now, and she looked out into my hallway and she went, and I was like, what? And she went, Oh, she's like, I thought I just saw like a child run up there. And I was like, And then a couple of like, I don't know, weeks or months later, I don't think I had the girls at the time. I think our old dog, our old dog had been put to sleep, and I did used to think I could see him quite a lot in the house, but I don't know if like when you're grieving someone that you love, you and you're used to them being there, you probably do see it. But I had this woman, I used to do her daughter's nails, and um excuse me, this woman was like oh, and I was like, what? And she went, Oh, I just felt like I had a dog round my legs. And um people have I mean, sometimes I think I I don't feel like this house is haunted, but sometimes I do think I see things like around this room, but an Astrid barks at like the door all the time. But it never I never feel scared.

SPEAKER_01:

No, I um well it's all just it just fascinates me.

SPEAKER_00:

It I just I just would like to know if ghosts are real.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't think we'll ever gonna know. Until we are one.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. I really want to come back as a ghost.

SPEAKER_01:

If I can have like free will and like move around, I don't want to be stuck doing the same thing every day.

SPEAKER_00:

Like it Well yeah, I I want the choice because I've got a list of people to haunt.

SPEAKER_01:

You're busy, you're travelling, you're gonna need an oyster card.

SPEAKER_00:

Absolutely. I've got things to do.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, this has been a fun little off-topic episode, hasn't it? It has. It has. I mean, there is a podcast called The Ghost Huns.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I would love to be a guest on their episodes, on their podcast.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, I feel like with a name like the Ghost Huns and the Health Huns, we could be spiritual podcasts.

SPEAKER_01:

Everyone, tag the Ghost Hunt, manifest it for me. It's my absolute dream. If there's any clairvoyant psychics, people who are just spiritual, please get in touch with us because uh should we do a spin-off of what?

SPEAKER_00:

Ghost and doing the paranormal stuff. We could go paranormal investigating. Oh my god, I would just I am a screamer though, so I would be screaming the whole time.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'd be petrified, but I'd be like the adrenaline would be rushing through me.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I would really like to see a medium again. I've seen a few.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

I saw one who was now in prison, but he was good. Um he also obviously was a bad man. Uh and I saw one a couple of years ago, and he sort of did say some things that resonated, but also then he had this real obsession with trying to tell me about somebody that was dead that I knew, and I was like, I don't know anyone like that. I've never had a I've never had a friend like that. Like I've got a bad memory, but I would remember that. So I don't know. I'd like, or if anybody out there is a psychic medium and you can tell me anything, if you're getting any vibes about me or Re, yeah, we want to know. I wanna know. See, this is the thing. If I go to a psychic medium, I don't really want to hear from dead people, I just want to know what's in my future.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I think that's where you should go to a tarot card reader.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, but I feel like tarot card readers, it's just interpretive, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, the one I had last year, she I she pulled me.

SPEAKER_00:

She did tell you things. It wasn't just like reading the card, was it?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I'd have to get back in touch with her. Hmm. What was that?

SPEAKER_01:

That was just my pen.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh. I can say it's a ghost.

SPEAKER_01:

No, but I am feeling a bit creeped out, so I'm gonna run upstairs after this is finished. Okay. Put something funny on the telly. Well, that's the end of our Halloween special. I hope you enjoyed our non-fitness content this week.
