Ay Mijita ✨ Embrace your raíces. Reclaim your esencia.
Ay Mijita is the podcast for first-generation Latinas who are ready to break generational cycles, heal emotional wounds, and reclaim their voice, power, and identity.
Hosted by Dora Alicia Praxedis, intuitive healer, life coach, and spiritual guide, this show dives deep into the real conversations we were never taught to have growing up.

Rest, Recover, Return Next Week
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Some weeks demand a softer voice and a slower pace. This is one of those weeks. I’m sharing a short, sincere update about my health, a lost voice, and what recovery looks like while moving through chemotherapy. Rather than push through and deliver something less than whole, I’m choosing to pause, protect my energy, and return next week with clarity and heart.
That pause carries a message I want you to hold onto: rest is not quitting. When the immune system is vulnerable, even a minor cold can derail healing. The bravest choice is sometimes the quiet one. So I’m inviting you to catch up on favorite episodes you may have missed, revisit the earliest stories that shaped this show, and use the time you’d spend listening to take a nap, step outside, or hold a long hug with someone you love. Let this be a brief ritual of care, reflection, and gratitude.
We also touch on how health and creativity intertwine—how honoring limits preserves the voice that tells the deeper stories of identity, culture, and belonging. If you’ve been pushing past your own signals, consider this your permission slip to slow down. Celebrate how far you’ve come. Choose gentleness over urgency. We’ll pick up next week, ready to go, with a fuller breath and a steadier spirit.
Stay connected for updates and community support on Instagram and Facebook, and check the show notes for links. If this resonates, share it with a friend who needs permission to rest, and leave a quick rating or review so others can find the show. Your support means the world and helps us return stronger together.

SPEAKER_00Hi Mijita. Welcome back to I Mijita. Embracing your races, reclaiming your essencia. And as you can tell, my voice is a little off. I actually got sick this past week, and I am losing my voice. And so for this week, I invite you to catch up on any episodes that you love. Um there's the first one I recorded that I love, absolutely love. And I will definitely be with you next week, back to it. And this is just the reality that now that I am doing chemotherapy, um, last Friday was my fourth round. I am going through the motions, and I am immune compromised, meaning I can get sick way more easily. So I will definitely keep you posted, and if anything, follow me on Instagram at the Praxedis or Facebook. You can find me at Dora Alicia Praxedis, or you can contact me uh via email. And so check out the episode notes below, the show notes, um, and definitely keep me in your prayers, in your thoughts. And I had quite the episode for you that I would record, but again, I will wait until next week. I'll use this as a gentle reminder for you to take some rest, take a nap, whatever you would do during this time of listening. I want you to just take a moment and celebrate everything that you've done so far in your life. And appreciate hug those loved ones of yours. And I'll see you back next week. Sending you a big hug and so much love. Bye for now.
