Addiction doesn’t always look the way we expect. In this episode, I share how my food addiction shifted into alcohol and the lessons I learned about recognizing and breaking the cycle. I share how easy it is to replace one addiction with another without even realizing it, and why those who struggle with food addiction need to be especially mindful. I talk about how therapy helped me get to the root of the problem, the slippery slope of alcohol as a substitute, and why awareness is key. Most importantly, I want to give hope: recovery is possible, and you don’t have to walk through it alone. I also share a resource that can connect you with support if you’re struggling today.
