Welcome back to the podcast, my friends.
Tonight, we gather under the glow of the Hunter’s Moon—sometimes called the Harvest Moon.
This moon has long been a guidepost for our ancestors. After the autumn equinox, when days grow shorter and nights lengthen, the Hunter’s Moon rises full and bright. Its golden light once illuminated the fields and forests, guiding hunters and gatherers to secure the final harvests before the quiet of winter.
The Hunter’s Moon reminds us of preparation, gratitude, and balance—of honoring what has come to completion, and conserving energy for what lies ahead.
Take this time with me now to slow down, to settle into the season’s rhythm, and to reflect gently on your own harvest.
Find a comfortable position, either seated or lying down.
Allow your eyes to close, and take a slow, deep breath in…
and a gentle, steady exhale out.
Feel your body supported by the earth beneath you.
Notice where you can release any tension—through your shoulders, your jaw, the space between your eyes.
With each breath, imagine that you’re breathing in the cool night air of autumn, and breathing out the heaviness of the past season.
Now, picture yourself standing beneath the wide, open night sky.
Above you, the Hunter’s Harvest Moon glows—bright, golden, and round, casting silver light across the fields.
The air feels crisp. The world is quiet, and you are still.
Notice how the moonlight illuminates everything it touches—the soil, the trees, the remnants of the harvest.
Take a moment to reflect:
- What are you harvesting in your own life right now?
- What work, effort, or energy of yours has finally come to fruition?
- Where can you pause to feel gratitude for the fruits of your labor, large or small?
Let these reflections rise naturally, without judgment.
Allow yourself to honor both what is complete, and what remains unfinished.
The Hunter’s Moon also reminds us of preparation—for the colder, darker season ahead.
Ask yourself gently:
- What do I want to carry with me through the coming months?
- And what am I ready to release, to leave behind, so I can move forward with lightness?
As you breathe beneath this moonlight, imagine gathering your harvest—the lessons, the growth, the joys—and placing them in a basket you carry.
With each breath, your basket feels full, complete, enough.
Now, imagine the moonlight softening, bathing you in peace.
This light is not only around you, but within you—a steady, glowing reminder that even as the seasons shift, you hold wisdom and strength inside.
Take three slow, nourishing breaths.
Inhaling gratitude.
Exhaling release.
When you feel ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes, and return to your space and your body.
Carry this Hunter’s Harvest Moon energy with you—gratitude for what you’ve gathered, peace with what you’ve released, and readiness for the season ahead.
Thank you for sharing this moonlit meditation with me.
