In this episode, we catch up on everything we got up to over the first May bank holiday weekend ☀️ before diving into a topic we’ve never properly talked about before, dating as twins 👀 From whether our boyfriends have ever mixed us up 😱 to the time we dated twins (and why we’d absolutely never do it again 😭), we’re spilling all the tea. Plus, do we actually have the same type in guys… or couldn’t we be more different? 🤔

SPEAKER_02

How are you, my lovelies? I hope you had a lovely bank holiday. First May bank haul. I was outside. I hope you were too. We were outside. The weather was where wherever you are in the world or in the UK, it was we had pockets of sun. We did. But I hope it was fun. I hope it was enjoyable. I hope you're having a lovely week. Emma Babes, how are you? Feels like it's been a minute. It's been a minute. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling a bit tired. Um, I feel like the last time we actually filmed was before Cyprus. Yeah. So it's been a while. We we've been to Cyprus. Cyprus was lovely. It was lovely. It was lovely. We got a bit of colour. I'm hoping for the visual audience. The lights aren't whiting us out too much. Yeah. Um, I felt tanned when I got back on the plane. I was like, I feel like I've been away. Yeah, which was really nice, actually. Got a bit of sunburn, quite a bit sunburn to write about it. It feels fair throughout the year, right? We are. And actually, a lot of people think we have the inability to tan, but we really can tan once we oh yeah. The amount of headstyle, the amount of guys on hinge that are like, oh, you're just so naturally tanned. I'm like, don't let the photos fool you, babes. Thank you so much. But we can because that's the vibe I'm yeah, but I'm not just naturally brown all the time. Roll on summer though. Roll on we can look quite ill. Yeah, we can't quite frankly. But yeah, how am I? Talk to us. I'm good. I'm a bit tired. I feel like it's been full on, especially since bank hole weekend. Should we do a quick, like I feel like that was like the biggest thing for me, bank hole weekend? Yeah. I went out the night before bank hole. Like, so went out on Saturday, went to a house party. But what is it? So went to a house party really sort of spontaneously. Like on the Saturday, I had a really productive day. I was like, I'm gonna take everything out my wardrobe and put it back in. Really? And organise it. Yeah, I went through my Hanna Montana cupboard, just my day-to-day cupboard. You're better than me. Jesus sorted everything out. You were out in the tune. I was out in the tune. You were out in London. Um, and I like the wardrobe was the last thing that I had to do for the day. Um, so I organised that, and then halfway through, like I was almost done, but there was still loads of shit on my bed. My friend rang me and was like, come to a house party. So I was like, yeah, fuck it. I was like, oh, I haven't washed my hair, like it was slick up. I hate having my hair up. It's very rare I have my hair up on the pod. Yeah, to be honest. That's true. So yeah, hair was up. Uh cool jacket just went, but I mean cool. You can pull off a pony. Don't lie. You can. You can. I've got a very square hairline. Yeah, and mine's receding. Does it stop me? No, no, but the pony is classic, Dean. It is. I remember a blonde pony. Like, you always did a high pony, whereas like I've had to force myself to do it because one, the water in the UK isn't clean enough for my hair to be fresh all the time to have it down. No, washing our hair in Cyprus, it was like the scalps would be. Oh my god, the water quality. The water has gone in my scalp all around and it it's it's left it so clean. My hair can't last quality clean. Yeah, my hair can't last two days. We're gonna have to get shower filters. Yeah. Anyway, back on the pattern. You're at the house party. Are we in Bali? Yeah, because um the hard water. Stay on schedule. Stay on schedule, guys. You guys are you following the narrative's here, and we're jumping round it's like a flag. Keep up. Um anyway, I'm at the house party. And there was a dog going round. And what is it about dogs at house parties? She did not look happy, blessed. I always feel really bad for me. I know. So I just spent most of the night sat on the floor with the dog. I never like that. I'm like, turn the music down. I know. She looked so sad, and she was just staring, and I was like, I can't. She hated that. No. She was very cute. Um, did you know of the person whose house you went to? First time I met everyone. Oh really? Saw everyone from the front. I had to get an Uber for 20 minute days. That's far. That's a commitment. Yeah. Like I was I was gonna say I was close, I was close to you're gonna have to beat that, beep that out. Or if you yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um I was close to there. So I pulled up to the front and I could see everyone in the kitchen, like from the outside looking in, and the kitchen was full. Full. Yeah, and I rang my friend, I was like, I'm here, like, can you let me in? And I felt like I was at uni again. Like, you know, when you go to a house party for the first time and you don't know everyone there, maybe you've got one friend there, like pulling up to a party by yourself as a girl, and it was a 30th birthday. I can't remember the last time I went to a house party as a grown adult. Yeah, so that must have been fun. I mean, it wasn't it wasn't jumping, it was it wasn't a rage, it was quite chill to be honest with you. Uh they had the guy's faces on straws, I put him in my pocket with a lot of looking around with his face on my ass. Um happy about you, yeah. You know, but it was so it was fun, it was fun. Yeah, I'm glad. What else? Uh I feel like I was gonna say something. Yeah, it was fun, it was chill, sat with the dog, was home by I think I was in bed by three, which is quite late, but I got there at 10:30, 11. Yeah, that's it. So I was I got there really late, which is why I left like quite late. Yeah. Um, but yeah, bank hole was fun. It was fun, it was singing. Oh my god, wait, actually, at this house party, so many people knew who Lydia was. Not Lydia as like my sister as a person as an individual, they knew you as an artist. That's crazy, as a musician. That is crazy, wild. That boggles my mind that four or five people said that. That's crazy. I uh that still boggles my mind because I know I'm doing it and I'm trying to do it, and I think sometimes I do not give a second thought to is it taking? Are people taking to this? And then I'm like, oh, it's been noted, like people come over and they sit that's what they know me for, and I'm always quite shocked. So that's really nice. Yeah, no, that was that was fun. I was like, no, I'm not her, but I'll I'll I'll pass it on. I'll like a cool star. I'll tell her like you asked or you said like that was wild. I was like, yeah, I'm a video stuff. If you haven't looked at Lydia's music, go to the link in the description, please. Um, but yeah, bank hole. I was feeling cool, I was feeling sexy. Guys, I'm loving a long short with a baddie top boots. Yeah. Go. I've got these shorts from South South Street, love South Street. They're long shorts, they're leather, and they've got this, like, I'm looking at them right now as I sat on the washing line. They look they've got like this almost calligraphy either side of the leg on the inside that it's white. Yeah. And I wore like a really diet, like rhinestone bikini top that had a white racer top on, but half so you could see the boobage. Yeah. Insert pick. Have I got a pick? Oh, I've got another pick of me on the scaffolding. Oh no, there's pop photo together. There's picks, there's picks. Um, but I was at I was at the um at the sh at the street party, whatever. Lid Dean was singing. I was singing. Dean was headlining. It was a good time. It was so fun. Um so fun. The sun came out, there was risk of rain, there was the sun came out. It was great. Yeah. Um the DJ was mixing, shout out five past five. He was doing his thing. Oh my god, yeah. And Emma went. As he started to play his set, the sun started to come out, and Emma was like, it's working, keep keep going.

SPEAKER_01

It's working. The sun opened. The sun is going!

SPEAKER_02

It's working. Um I do have to say though, like, I didn't know I was gonna share this story on here, but I got to because we're oversharing for the brother. Yeah, you have to. So I saw this guy, and I was like, oh I was there. He's quite good looking. Yeah, he's quite good looking. And we're pointing him out. She's five o'clock. That one over there. Black top. And I was like, you know, just vibe in. I'm pretty sure he was clocking eyes with me. Oh, he was leaning on the patio door, like in your direction. His body was facing you. Yeah. And I'm I'm pretty he was looking in that direction 100%. He was defo taking a couple of peeks. Yeah. Like, not to be big-headed. Continue. I don't know. I don't, and then I was like, do you know what? I'm gonna test this theory and I'm gonna look at him for like 10 seconds and see if he looks the other way. So I've gone, and he's looked at me the whole time. Oh, has he? Yeah. Okay. So I'm like, why aren't you talking to me? I was like, maybe it's because I'm intimidating, it's the short You did you did say to me, Lydia, my man over there, what are you saying? I was like, he does look a little bit older than us, yeah, but he's got a young vibe about him. Well he's cute. I should have taken that hint older, and I should have looked for something, but I didn't. Because he did seem a bit older, didn't he? Yeah, maybe. Than us for sure. Yeah, but I that didn't really cross my mind because I'm 24, 25, young woman. Yeah, exactly. I am now at the age where I'm like, you could be too young for me. That's true. Do you know what I mean? Whereas like before I was like, I am young. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah, continue. I'm like in the bathroom with these strange women, and I'm like, oh, I really like the look of this guy. Like all, I want to talk to him. They're like, girl, what have you got to lose? Like, fucking do it. I was like, will you come with me? These two blonde bombshells come with me, strangers. Love you guys. Do not have an audience. If you're listening, great. Anyway, I walk up with my cheekers to my left and right, and I go, Are you single? And he puts his hand up and he's got a wedding band on his finger. Yeah. I don't even say anything, I just walk away and I run to the hand. Does he say anything to you? He just had and he went, sorry. Oh, I've never been first of all, first for everything. That has never happened to me before in my life. Well, you and I don't go. Is he married? Does he have a ring on his finger? This is where we need to start adjusting. Yeah. That is something I've never had to consider before. Yeah. If they're married. Yeah. He was married. Well, lesson learned. I I mean, good for you, sir. That's what you should be doing. Yeah. Okay, because we've got a lot of unfaithful tangled men. So good, good on you, mate. Yeah, do you know what I mean? And I was looking great, but I'm so glad the wife wasn't there. Oh my god, Lydia. What did the girl explain? You would have had to have come, they went, Oh babe, don't worry. Like, it could have happened to anyone. Like, just you know, if you don't ask, you don't get, you know? That is so true. So next time, ladies, look at their hands. I'm not walking up to a man tell a lot about a man by his hands. I'm just not, I'm sit, I'm not chasing again, but I am confident like that. I will just go up to you what we're doing. I'm the same. Yeah, absolutely. I just will. It's fine, girl. Rejection is protection and redirection. Yeah. Clark it. Let's go. How are you though? Um, girl, I'm good. What's the um I'm thinking from Cyprus, guys? Uh I'm still a little bit worried that I didn't mention this in Emma and I did vlog Cyprus, so that will be hopefully coming out soon. We're not too sure on the footage. Ugh. Can I just interject really? Yeah. I think we were too cocky with the fact that we did this this format, this style of create gr creation, yeah, content creation. And we found it so natural doing this, but actually, the the vlogs for me, I was like, oh, I don't know. We got too cocky. I was I I thought actually after watching it, yeah. So I was like, we're describing what we're doing, but we need to just be a bit more candid and just engage in conversation than being like, we're gonna do this, and then we're gonna do this. Yeah, so I didn't actually know if you're gonna see that footage. However, Cypress was lit, it was great, uh, got a tan, got a bit burnt. I am peeling a little bit, I can't lie. I got out of the shower the other day and I was like, oh god. Uh you know, when you have to start dabbing instead of rubbing with a towel to dry yourself off, yeah, because you don't want to lose the tanned skin. Um uh one thing about me, I've only ever got one parking ticket in my life. Alright, one and I got a ticket in Cyprus whilst I was there, not for parking in a spot that I shouldn't have been in. Um basically I was at a set of traffic lights, and in Cyprus at this particular set of traffic lights, people used to like roll over the line so that when there was an opportunity to go, they could go, and it would cause a lot of accidents and stuff. So the Paphos government put these like these lines to keep people a certain, like a maybe like half a metre from the line so that you can go past on the traffic lights. And if you roll on those lines, you get flashed by a camera and you get a fine. And I was very tired that day. I had driven up and down from Paphos to our house about four times that day. I was delirious, and I was picking up our sister from the doctor's, and I went to these traffic lights because she told me to. She was love you, Athena, but she was telling me which way to go, and I hate going that particular way. I usually avoid the traffic lights driving back up to where our house is. But anyway, I'm driving to the traffic lights, and Athena's going, Lydia, Lydia, Lydia, and I'm looking at her, and I was like, what? And she went, Lydia, I touched the line and I saw pap and I got flashed by the camera, and I went, and she went, Lydia, you got a fine. Do you know how much this fine is, guys? Take a guess. Take a guess. 30 euros, no. 50, no. A hundred, I think again. 300 fucking euros. That is how much that fine is. At least it's cheaper in pounds. I went to a feeder, what? It's 300 euros. I haven't had the ticket yet, guys. Well, my dad hasn't received the ticket yet. So uh fuck knows what's gonna happen. I might have to pay 300 euros in fines. And I just I touched it. I was maybe on the second line. There's 10 fucking lines on this thing. You know what I mean? So that mate, I had to have a lie down after I heard that number. Um, so that kind of rocked my my Cypress experience a little bit. Um, but on um other news, I have a new phone case for the visual listeners. Emma and I swapped out the phone cases. Emma's was pink before, and now she's gone for a baby blue. Mine was burgundy and I had it for fucking ever, and I had it last summer. No one should have a burgundy phone case in summer. But I just I didn't get around to ordering one, whatever. So I've got a new one. It's baby yellow. Um it's punchy, but I think I can still get away with it. It's summary. I love it. Let me know what you think for the the visual listeners. Um, I've already kind of marked it though. That's the thing with these light, these pastel phone cases, but I'm happy with her. Um, as Emma said, I had a gig on bank hole, and it was it was really good. Like it was. I was a little bit nervous leading up, but I was booked and busy bank hole weekend. Like I was out Friday, I had a barbecue on Friday, I was in London on Saturday with the girlies, we were day drinking. Sunday had my gig, so I was outside and I was having a great time. Um, and then yeah, Sunday had my gig, didn't do a sound check, which I'm always a little bit nervous about. I think when you when you don't get an opportunity to rehearse and hear things out, um, it's a little bit nerve-wracking. I got up there and I had a little technical issue with my timing um that made it a little bit stressful. I don't think people knew, um, but we got it fixed in the end. Um, I just think it was a case of I could hear a certain pace with the backing track, whether as the crowd could hear something different. That's why you see musicians work it wearing those things in their ears, because it helps you keep time. Um, so I did spend majority of my set holding my ear. I was trying to keep time. I was at the front like a music teacher going like that with the beat. I was I was lost. I didn't know my head from my ass. Like it was it was stressful. So the first couple of songs didn't hit the way I wanted them to. I do feel like people were happy with my performance. People who were there last year came back specifically to see me sing, and that's great because that feels so validating. Um, but yeah, definitely had to I had to just suck it up and get through it. But it was so fun, it was such a fun weekend. Um in other news, mum and I have started a little walking club.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Mum was like she texted me um a couple weeks ago, she was like, we should start walking, and May, like, I actually need to get out of the house.

SPEAKER_02

So twice a week, uh Tuesday, Thursday, we're walking, we're power walking, we're chatting. Nice. Um, and this was our first week completed, which was nice because it's lighter in the evenings, all that stuff. Um, so yeah, girl, we're just you know, same old, same old. But yeah. Um, should we get into the next thing? Yeah, let's do it. So I actually am surprised we haven't done an episode on this yet. Yeah. It's probably the the most obvious thing about me and Lydia in terms of I don't know, one of the things it's the thing that people ask us the most, I think. And probably notice straight away that we're twins. Yeah. And but I feel like we don't lean into that that much. It's not something we take notice of, it's not our identity. That's so true. We're always like we're sisters, yeah. You know, those, you know, those those twins on Instagram who wear the same thing. Yeah, Lydia and I couldn't be more different in some respects. But this episode is about twins, more specifically, dating as twins. Well, yeah, dating as twins. Those are sort of the first few questions, but feel free, the last question is a bit more open to your interpretation. Yeah. So I feel like we should do more on this going forward because when we've been brainstorming, we've literally covered every single topic. Yeah. Probably apart from this one. Yeah. So let's get into it. So the first question is this we get asked this a lot. Yeah. Have we dated twins? And the answer to that question is yes. We have. So just once we want to give, yeah, just once, and for me, probably never again. Probably never again. Yeah. Should we backtrack? Do you want to give a bit of context for the story? You can go ahead, girly. Okay, right. Why is that? Because I want to hear what you were gonna say. Okay, right. So me and Lydia were working in a bar at the time. It was like literally before we went to university. We were in A levels, I think. Yeah, I think we were in A levels. Because I was single at the time. Oh, okay, cool. Post breakup. It's so hard to think back and actually think what time that was. It was definitely our final year of school, I think. Yeah, so um, we were working in a bar, and often enough, people would really get really confused that we were two like twins working there. Yeah. We'd be like, oh well, I asked you, didn't I? Like two minutes ago. I'd be like, No, you didn't, you asked my sister. Anyway, um, we were literally on this strip, and in summer it was full of tourists all the time, particularly English tourists. Yeah, because there was a lot of like pubs and like like hotels close by. So we always just used to get the Brits every summer, yeah, and it was good sometimes, like being young girls, you know, you're single, whatever. It was actually quite fun because we got to meet a lot of British lads. We did, yeah. But on this and like we would get chatted up every day, all the time. It was non-stop, it was non-stop, numbers being slipped in our hands, like it was like we were on holiday, and it was so nice. Like each season you would meet like different kinds of groups of people, girls, guys. Um, and some of them would, you know, come back. Like more than often, if they liked the bar, they would come back the following night, and for that week, they would come. And have a drink. Yeah, and you yeah, and so you got to know particular guys, cute guys in the group, you know, unwanted attention to um, so that's kind of setting it up for you guys. Yeah, well, yeah, so um uh yeah, and sometimes we go out with them afterwards. We did, yeah, if we liked them enough guys and girls, not just guys, you know. I mean, you would just go out afterwards because it'd be summer, we'd work all the time. The only time we really had time to go out was after work, especially together because we would never have the same day on. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, these boys come in, and it was the two twins, and then there was a friend, and it was just them on holiday. Anyway, they came in like two or three times that week. So they became sort of regulars, like familiar faces. We were chatting to them, one of them was like studying or going to like um the university that I was gonna study at, so we were just chatting. Anyway, I took a liking to one of them and Lydia took a liking to the other, yeah. But we always said we would never date twins. No, like it was never something that appealed to us at all. I think sometimes if you don't lean into being a twin and you're not all about that matchy matchy, how can we be so similar? You do everything you can to be the opposite, which is why Lydia had her hair blonde in school, and that's why I had my hair dark, you know. Yeah, and I think it always kind of suggests that if you date twins, it kind of almost implies that you like the look of the other said brother or sister in the pairing, and I just always think that's quite strange. Like, you know, when you see on Instagram, you see like two twins got married to other sets of twins, and they had kids and their kids look the same. There's just no individuality at all, and Emma and I are not scared about being different. Well, what wouldn't we we are different, which is why sometimes people have asked, like our boy, like strangers have asked like our partners in the past, like, well, surely if you fancy Emma, you fancy Lydia. Yeah, no, and I'm like, we couldn't be more different, and actually, all our friends and family can vouch for that. And actually, I've noticed I can tell you from like the first few seconds of seeing a guy, I can tell you whether he'll like me or you, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it is very different, they were a very different palette, we're a very different taste, was so different. So, yeah, I think with these ones, we're like, fuck it, they were so funny. They were, and they were identical twins, whether as Emma and I are non-identical twins, but we are the most similar-looking fraternal twins I've ever met. Oh, yeah, yeah, agree. When someone says they're a twin and they're like, oh yeah, we're not identical, they look nothing alike. Yeah, whether as you and I look so similar, I actually think mum got it wrong, and we actually are identical. I would actually like to look at that though. But these two were identical, and it was kind of scary because we couldn't tell them apart. Just because you're a twin doesn't mean you know how to tell apart other twins. And I'm sorry guys, that was the problem. We couldn't tell them apart. No, we went on one night out. I'm pretty sure it was our birthday. Wait, no, can we backtrack though? Yeah, backtrack. So they would come in and we would be like, fuck which one's which. Yeah. We'd have to ask them strategic questions or wait until one of them came up to us. Because there were obvious differences between us. Yeah. First of all, girls wear makeup. Yeah. There were different things we could do to make us look different. I've got my hair up. Yeah. Like I do my makeup this way. Even outfits. Boys wear t-shirts and jeans. Yeah. He's got a nude top on, he's got a white top on. Fuck. They were the same. How'd you know? Yeah. They were so they were copy-paste. Yeah, they really were. They really were. So we couldn't tell them apart. We couldn't. That was the first sort of red flag. But yeah, go ahead. We went out with them. Um, so we went on a night out and we met them out, and we were in this bar, and we were like, How are we gonna tell them apart when they're when they get here? Like, that was already an issue. And then I was like, I just know when they walk in, depending on who they go to, I'll know which one is which. Yeah, yeah. And we ended up identifying which one was which. But I just remember like when we met them for the first time, we were stood opposite each other, so it looked like a mirror image. You and I were back to back and they were on either side of us. People were looking at us and going, People notice. Yeah, it was weird. Well, you know what's funny? I um the guy that I met on bank whole weekend on uh Saturday when I was out in London, he's a twin. Oh but he's a non-identical twin. I saw a photo of his his twin, they look nothing alike, completely different vibes, yeah, and I was like, Oh, I literally I don't date twins because I'm a twin. And he was like, Well, we're not identical. And I looked at a photo and I was like, if you look nothing alike, then fine. And also you understand the twin relationship, yeah. Like when I was seeing in GCSE when I was seeing that older guy, whoops, and um he's got a sister, yeah, and um their mum was like, and his sister was like, make sure not to take Lydia away too much from Emma because they're twins and they spend a lot of time together. Yeah, you can't drive a wedge between them. So I think when you have when you when we look for partners, I think we are actively looking for people who have strong bonds with their siblings or relationships within their immediate family because they need to know how important it is that it doesn't drive a wedge between us, and also that we can get on as a three or a four. Yeah, a good one. You know, like my boyfriend needs to get on with Emma. Oh and vice versa. 100%. Like we live together, we now have the pod together, like we do everything together. I'm sorry, if they don't like you, that's it. I can't be with Emma. Oh, that's it. Is that a bit is that a bit wild? No, I don't think. No, I can't. If you don't, if you don't get on with my sister, I can't. Actually, Athena used to have a different opinion. Can I just out Athena right now? Yeah, yeah, cool. Athena used to feel differently about that until she got in a relationship with someone who we really love. Yeah, love to this day. Yeah. Chout Liam, love you. Um, G. Yeah, listen, but we love you. Yeah, we love you. Athena, tell him! Athena, play it back, tell him. Um and then then she realised how important it was. Anyway, backtracking to the story. Oh, yeah. We would compare notes with the twins, and we found out that the way me and Nydia are very individual in our characters, we never say the same joke, whatever, whatever, would never call them the same nickname, whatever. We found out actually that we were dating the same boy because they were so alike.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They would call us the same pet names, like you know, when you debrief with your friend after a date, we did a debrief and we're telling you like five, six things they said that we really liked, whether it was a compliment or whatever, they said to us, honestly, and it was not, I was like, Lady, we're dating the same boy, and that makes me feel weird. Not good. No, and then they went back to the UK and it was like Oh, of course. Well, nothing was gonna come of it, but no. He was so the one that I liked, he was the first boy that like I actually spoke to seriously, considering him after breaking up with my ex. Like, do you remember when I broke up with my ex-boyfriend and I was like, you were like, Lydia's not gonna look at another boy? Yeah, no, she's not fucking interested. Oh my god, yeah. And this was the first man that like I actually gave the time of day. Can I just give you that, sir? Shaking your hands, you're so right, because we went from where we worked down the road to that bar because it was the closest one. And it stayed open later than our bar. It did. And I remember being at the bar and telling the twin that I was chatting to being like, look, the fact that she he's even got her out, you know, Lydia went into a phase of what can I say, a period of mourning after her ex. Yeah, you can say that. I'm sorry, like it was there was no one who was gonna top that relationship for you at that point. So the fact that he even got her out to take her out for dreams. I was watching at the bar, and then I think you necked on and we were like sorry, that's the only thing about over shame. Um yeah, that was really sharp. Do you remember those uh but we dated other brothers before? We have dated other brothers. That was a whirlwind. That was wild. My brother was quite old. No, he wasn't older. He was older. They were older. He was like 25 and I was like 17. Oh shit. Mine was younger. I think mine was at uni. Might or was he 25? Do you remember they rented that villa and they were at 24? And then one of the girls I was working with got with the one I like. I think my guy came on holiday. Who, who, one of them had a girlfriend and he broke up with her on the holiday. Really? Yeah. Oh shit, I don't think that was my one. I think it was mine. Oh shit. Yeah. Oh my god, memory unlocked. The one I was talking to, though, I really liked him. I know. And then I know. And then one of the girls I worked with, she admitted to me that she shagged him in front of the guy I used to date. Do you remember they were having food in the back? And I came over and she admitted it, and she was like, Oh, it's not a big deal. And one of my big deal to me. It might not be to you, it is to me. Yeah, what are you talking about? I think she thought because I was younger, she was like, What are you gonna do with it? Yeah, but do you know sometimes like some people just shag just to shag, and that's fine, but you chose you chose me. You're my mate. Yeah, you know I liked him. There's hundreds of willies that come through this bar every day. You could have picked anyone. I wonder if I still have him on Instagram, you know. I reckon I do. Jesus. I'm gonna have a look, you know. Yeah. I can't I can't do it. I don't think they came in there again after everything everything crashed. Because I told him that I knew. Yeah. I was like, what the fuck are you doing? And you were like, oh my gosh, uh, memory and lot. Next question. Has your boyfriend ever confused you? Yeah, our boyfriend's happened. Yeah. Do you want to go first? Uh yeah, I'll go first. God. So this is in time order that one happened first. This happened uh very Are we talking about in terms of time order? The confusion habit first. So we're talking about my significant other confusing you or my experience with your significant other confusing me. Oh, your boyfriend confusing confusing. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Um, so I forgot to. Oh no, maybe it makes more sense to do the other way. So I'll I'll tell we'll go most recent experience. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Emma's most recent ex-boyfriend had never mixed us up until this point. And I want to say, how long were you into this relationship before this happened? It was our birthday. It was our birthday. Uh it was okay, so that the that's the second birthday I had spent with him. I think oh no. Actually, it was probably the first it was the first birthday. Okay. So it had been a while, and we were stood at the bar in this place. Oh drunk. Yeah, and Emma stood in front of me, and her her ex is stood next to her, and Emma goes, I'm gonna go to the loo, and she walks off. And I'm stood. No, I didn't even tell him. Oh, okay. So she walks off. I'm still stood where I'm stood. So he's like a couple of steps in front of me. He leans back, he puts his arm around me, and he goes, What do you want to drink, babe?

SPEAKER_01

And I go, look around, oh god.

SPEAKER_02

And he goes, Oh god. And then all night he kept going, oh god. So he wasn't even anything that he was like, he he'd never done that before. And then I came back from the bathroom, he was like, Where'd you go? I was like, I was like, what happened and me and Athena were dying. It was only the one time. Oh, it it never happens because our boyfriends are always able to tell us apart. They are. It's never, it's it's when they let their guard down around the both of us. Well, he didn't, it's because he didn't look at your face, he was stood next to you. We have the same hair colour at that point. It's not like I was stood on the other side of him, I was literally stood behind you, so I can understand how he thought that. So yeah, yeah. Bless him. Anyway. Innocent mistake. Such an innocent mistake. Yeah, we like we know it's hard. I know. Gosh, if he's listening right now. Yeah. Do you remember when that happened? Um okay. So my story is um we were quite a bit younger at this point. Again, me and the Germany fortune that actually we used to hang out with the three a lot. With oh yeah. We've never had boyfriends at the same time. No. Actually, that would be amazing. Honestly. I'm looking forward to that day. Same. Because actually, that'd be a dream. Athena, Liam, and our two misters, yeah, squad. Yeah. Six of us. Yeah. That'd be sick. That'd be sick. That'd be sick. Side note, Emma Athena's ex-boyfriend, who we fucking hate. Yeah. If you're watching this, yeah. Fucking Lee. He was like, Oh, I find it really hard that like I'm the only boy at Christmas. Like, you and your sisters like never have boyfriends. We can't help it! We can't help it. It's joking! Actually, it's a choice. Have you seen the caliber of men out there? Like, no, he's making us out, like, we ain't got a game. Yeah, but yeah, Lydia and I, so because Lydia and I spent a lot of time to get mic, and because we're twins, whatever, um, like naturally, that guy has to fit in, like, we've got to be besties. Anyway, so I really got on with Lydia's boyfriend at the time. You did, and we just used to do things in threes together. I think the damn harbour had got some ice cream or whatever. And I was walking in front of this of Lydia's boyfriend, and I think he basically went to smack Lydia's arse really hard. But it was me, right? But he didn't make any contact, so he swung, and then Lydia walked up beside him, and I think he clocked and went, ah! Like he he instantly retracted his fingers, and I looked behind him and I clocked what happened. But it was so hilarious. It was so funny because he was genuinely so it was such a genuine mistake. I bet you know what I don't even remember that. I bet he's shattered. I think if that happened, I would find it so funny because we were all so close. We'd need a cup of days. It would be, it would be, he would need a couple of days. He would need a couple of days. I knew it would have been a genuine, it would have been a genuine mistake, and actually, yeah, bless it, that was hilarious. But him like retracting his fingers was like, oh my god, like he almost did, but didn't. Oh my god. But that's hilarious. Always make sure. Always make sure, you've got to make sure. You never know. You never know, God. There's no like, oh, does my man secretly fancy my sis? There was none of that. No, they would go out without me. Oh yeah. I'd go out without you, yeah your ex. Yeah. And then there's so much comfortability with that. We go to with that. Yeah, there's so much comfortability with that, which is so nice. Oh, yeah, yeah. Um, but I think people who like fetishise twins see that as weird, but like for me, that isn't weird. No, we're just like, they just need to be a f a friend to me. They end up being like a busy mate. Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, that's quite funny. So, last question, pretty general. What's the biggest misconception about being twins? So, like, specifically for us. I'm gonna keep it linked to the dating topic that we have the same type. Yeah. Apart from one really bad instance in school. Oh, okay. That's a story for another day, guys. Fuck it now. Yeah, we don't like the same guys. As soon as you go, that one's cute. But in school we didn't know what we liked. Yeah, and the point is. Since becoming individuals, we don't like the same guys. We don't like the same guys. If there's a guy in a bar and we're there at the same time, if Emma takes note in a guy, I can appreciate if they're good looking, but automatically I'm like absolutely no. No, appalled. No, absolutely appalled. We met these guys. Oh no, no, I was gonna say that. Tell the people we met these two guys on bank holiday, and as soon as we walked away from them, they both had girlfriends. Oh typical fuck so Emma and I went in the loo and I went, which one did you like? I went, I want the one with short hair. She went, find out what the one belongs to. I wanted the other one. Yeah, it works well. We never want the same guys. Or we always go, yeah, he would be perfect for me, or he would be perfect for you. We just know, and I know we know that that guy is gonna be attracted to you. Yeah, we just know that we've never been put in a situation where it's like, oh, I like that guy, but he's attracted to Lydia. Yeah, I know straight away, yeah, like you know, it was never been yeah, so yeah, liking the same guys. Yeah, definitely, for sure. Um well we did sort of date the same guy, but we were young and we did, yeah. Um by that I meant twins. The twins, yeah, not actually the same. Same looking guy. Uh biggest misconception about being a twin. Um that we have the same friends. That's true. Lydia and I do not have the same friends. No. We I think the friends that we now that we still have that are the same are like Jazz and Rami. Yeah. I would say. Yeah. Yeah, I don't want to leave anyway. Yeah. Jade. Jade. Love you Jade. Obviously, but people we went to school. Yeah, people went to school with. But I don't think we would have naturally chosen to like Emma and I went to uni that were like three hours apart, four hours. I went so far far up north it was crazy. Like, it didn't even cross my mind that we needed to be at the same uni. I'm sure other twins choose that to be in the same place. Like I went to uni with a set of twins, yeah. A guy and a girl, but they both went to the same uni, so they were in the same friendship group. I don't know how that would have fared. I think you need to be able to build your own personalities, and I think Emma and I weren't scared to go off and become our own people, you know? Yeah, yeah. Um 100%. So yeah, have the same friends, but we can appreciate each other's friends. Yeah. Like I used to come to your uni a lot and I'd go out with your friends. But like I think something I've realized from from moving out of the same environment together, moving to like our own spaces, like at uni, it made me realize it made me realise Lydia's qualities more when I met her friends. Because actually, when you put us in our groups of friends, you see our personalities come out, you do, you know, and that's where you see the difference and extension of our personalities for sure. So that's where it's different, yeah, 100%. But then I think none of us are shocked at the people we've gravitated towards. Because I'm like, oh yeah, that is so Lydia and her circle and the people she would surround herself with 100%. Um, I think another misconception is that uh we can read each other's minds, but I will comment on the telepathy thing because there are things that Lyd and I do that I can't explain. Yeah. So like Lydia and I will say things at the same time. We will, and we fucking hate it. We'll think things at the same time. Yeah. When we say things at the same time, I'm like in front of people, I'm like, we need a break. But also in front of people too, I'm like, oh. Because then they they're like, but best friends do that too. You know, you spend enough time with someone, your personalities just merge. They do. So yeah, saying things at the same time, yeah, thinking things at the same time is also great. That's quite convenient. But we do do that, we do have those things where it's just like, oh, that's so classic. Like you're so on the same page, twin vibes. Um, another misconception that our relationship isn't work. Like, I think it's a built-in best friend, and it is, yeah, but there was a time when we didn't not get on. No, there's still times where we we struggle, yeah, but it's still it we still have to work on it. Oh yeah, like it's like we're a bloody married couple, yeah. There's still like even more so when we went away to uni and we've kind of become our own people and we've come back together. That thinking the same thing, saying the same thing happened less. Yeah, so it's like okay, how do we get back on the same page with each other? It's it's work, yeah. It's still continu like it's not we're not just a building. In it's not just a built-in best friend and you don't have to do anything, and it's all fucking roses all the time. Yeah. We're still sisters, we still fight, and we still, you know. Yeah, it's like any siblings though, like just because you're family doesn't mean you're gonna get on. Yeah, and I think naturally as twins, you're pinned up against each other and compared since the day you're born. Yeah, you know, so it's kind of ingraining you at a young age to like compete with each other, and I think that didn't affect us like growing up, like quite young, subconsciously, especially with being young twin girls too. It's like and dating with boys, who's prettier, da da da, like there's a lot of there's a lot of that, but I think yeah, we did have to we had to work on that, we had to communicate, we had to, you know, because because of our differences too, yeah, and because our it was so naturally we just became quite different, you know. Maybe it was impacted by us wanting to be different, maybe, you know. So I think yeah, we've had to like work on that, work on that relationship too. For sure. But we've also got a third sister. Who does? So I'm like, it's not just me and Dean, there's also Athena, there's also a teen. We are also we are we're a three, we're not just we're not a two. Yeah, uh you may just see our two faces, yeah, but there's another girly pop behind the scenes. There is, there is, she's with her, she's with us in in the street. She's still waiting for us to dial her in on her. Yeah, she's she's doing but I know she's doing her steps in on the treadmill listening to this. Um but yeah, we are a three, but I think those are the main misconceptions. Did you have any more misconceptions? I don't think there's any uh any more. No, I think those are the main ones. Liking the same guys that were automatically buszy mates. Yeah. If I punch you all the other feel it, yeah, the twin telepathy thing. But when we were kids, if I cried, Emma would cry, and vice versa. But that's just babies, isn't it? Yeah, maybe it is babies, but um well this has helped you kind of get to know us on a on a different level. I think we've spoken about dating and sisterhood and bringing it together as a fun intersection, I think. Yeah. Um that that's the end of that section. Girl, what time? It's it is nine o'clock. What is nine o'clock? Saturday night. And we need to film another episode. Yeah, we do. Why are you gonna tell the people that? You're not supposed to tell the people. It's over sharing. Yeah, I know. I can cut it out if you want to cut it out. No, because I don't like I don't like it when the video is not continuous. Anyway, I've got I've got to go in and bleep the location you revealed earlier, so I might as well go in and cut it out. Because I don't like cropping it in the video. See, we don't get along all the time. This is this is where like I do the visual, and I'm like, no, I don't want to cut out a section. I don't like I don't like the oh yes, I can't you don't want to do any more work, but it's fine for me to do it. Well no, if you do it, I have to do it. That's true. Thank you. So I'm like, don't do it so I don't have to do it. It's a team effort. Anyway, um, thanks for listening, guys. Hope you enjoyed this episode. Because I can't see myself going on and lead your hand through stormy weather. Lost in a space right now. I don't think I'm a hand to hold you.
