Hi. Episode 30.
SPEAKER_02Woo.
SPEAKER_01Now, Lydia, I've got a question for you. Go on. There's something different about me. About you. Yeah. You as well. Yeah, maybe. Maybe just a little. Can you guess what it is? Um, is it your age? Yes, girl, it's my age. 25. What can you legally do at 25 that we couldn't do at 24? Rent a car, I think. True. I think that was the one thing that we're looking for. Actually, I'm gonna go. That's it. I can't lie. Do you think that's it? Yeah, because the major ones are 21 and 18. Right? What is that rule at the bar when you order a drink? You have to look older than 21, right? Why did I think it was 25? Is it 25? If you don't look older than 25, then they have to ID you. What's the ID rule at a bar? One set, ladies and gents. Okay. So the challenges, oh yeah, if you don't look older than oh, if you don't look older than 25, then you know you need to ID you. Right. Just to be on the safe side. Because you should be ID'd when you get in. But um yeah, so we're 25 now. I know. I mean, what makes me feel great is when I still when I pop to the supermarket near ours, I still get ID'd, which is kind of nice. Um, it's now becoming flattering to be ID'd. Absolutely, which I think is hilarious because before it was like fucking annoying. Could get my back. I swam older than do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, 100%. Um we had 25. Oh we're 25! Happy birthday to all the July babies! If your birthday was also on the 6th, or it's just been happy birthday to you. Um, I think July is a sick month to have your birthday. It is, it's the summer vibes, June. You're never too like you never know if the weather's gonna be great. Yeah. July, it's hot. We were those kids having pool parties. We were for our birthdays way back when we were the kiddie bops, going to school with my invites. Like, you get an invite. Yeah. Oh, do you remember paper invites? Yeah, I'm coming. Yeah, tick if you're coming, cute little invite, or like text, yeah, yeah. Do you remember now it's like just a WhatsApp poll? Yeah, who's coming? We've created a group chat, yeah. Life has definitely lost its whimsicalness. Yeah. Do you remember balloons outside someone's house or a sign to say party here? Oh my god, yeah, or stop sign, stop party. Yeah, right? Stop party here. We literally had one of those signs. I think everyone had one of those. Oh, iconic. What a time to be alive. I think we need to go back. We need to get back to that. I think we've gone too far forward. Anyway, we shall revisit the 25-ness of this episode a little bit later. A little bit later, because we got a lot we want to unpack to chat about. Yeah. Um, I saw this thing actually on TikTok, and it was like 25 is how old everyone is in the first episode of Friends. That makes me feel so much better. I'm glad. That actually gives me some comfort. And if that's brought some comfort to the listeners, then you are welcome. That is a gift from me too. Yeah, bloody hell. Rachel's a waitress, and then she's like a buying assistant at Ralph Lorraine by the end of the series. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Anyway, we shall chat about the 25 festivities. We shall. Um Gally, what are what are the updates with you? Any little new little nuggets? Updates. Talk to me. Um so you know the Garnier mist that I love, and that was revolutionary for me. If you missed that episode's The Garnier tanning. The Garnier tanning mist. Right, to be specific. We spoke about it a couple episodes back. Um, it was revolutionary for me because I only know tanning moose. You know, sleeping overnight in tan, where there is this is like an instant one hour, no fuss. I think I might be allergic to it. Are you joking? Yeah, no, because TMI, but we're on brand. So I keep getting like this red dry patch between my breastasis. Between the two. And I was like, what? Odd. Like, I've never had this before. I'm I mean, I'm I'm blessed with with titties. However, like I don't think they're big enough to to have any sort of like irritation. Like, I know the girlies with the big boobs, they sometimes suffer over like the summer periods, you haven't got a good bra. There can be some chafing going on. However, my boobs are not big enough for that to happen. However, I keep getting this like dry red triangle, if you will, and it comes and goes, and it goes red, and then it's becomes like a dry patch, and then it will go away and then it comes back, but I don't know what's bringing it back. I'm sure you ain't got like ex-games mer or something. Eczema, yeah, eczema. Ex games mer. Uh I don't think so. But the thing is though, Lydia, you got that before you even tried the mist. I don't know if I did. I think you did. No, I don't think I did. I think you did. Really? Yeah. I have a picture from when I first realized it. I need to go back and look. But I'm pretty sure if it's not causing it, it's aggravating it for sure. Right. So what's going on now? So right now it's right now it's red. Right. It's a little bit dry, but again, like as someone who's like acne prone, all of like my moisturizers and stuff, and my body washes and all that stuff, I try and not use anything that's too oily and stuff. Most of my face washes are like drying and stuff like that. So that might be contributing to it. However, I just noticed it. But again, I said I might be allergic to it. I'm not entirely sure. I'm not making a full-on statement. I really hope I'm not, because I don't really want to go back to tanning moose for me, really. I'll be completely honest. Um, so that that's a little bit of a negative update. Um, positive update, we're going strong with the with the progression to vegetarianism. Okay, I've not eaten beef or pork since we last caught up. Oh gosh. And I also did a little spin on a classic spag bowl, spaghetti bolognese, blah blah blah, bolognese, um, with turkey mints that Emma was not excited about. She wasn't excited about. It just wasn't a bolognese. It wasn't a bolognese, but it was close enough for me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I really enjoyed it, and it's actually better for you because you haven't got like the high cholesterol of eating processed meat and beef and all that stuff. I liked it. I personally want to put it back on the shopping list this week. I've had more partaking. You've got bread meat twice since we last came out with our confession that we were leaning towards being this girl. They I the thing is though, I am forgetting because I first of all did not come to the decision myself. Even though I'm more than happy to be on this journey with you, but I feel like they don't count because both on both those occasions it was me eating out, and I forgot. I brought you on board because this is more so my journey to I want to become veggie, hopefully vegan one day, but I I don't know if I see that if I'm being completely honest. Maybe veggie. The game, the game, the aim is maybe pesky pescatarianism. Um, and so I brought you on board because obviously we do our food shop together. So if I want to eat less red meat, that impacts you directly as well. So I appreciate you being so understanding about not eating it in the house. Um, but I think the turkey bolognose is going back on the on the on the dinner list this week's. I liked it. Yeah, yeah. Well though it did have a slightly different colour. Um last update for myself. Um, I did have a cheeky Sam's last week. Yeah. Because you were out, you were having drinks after work. Like what else? And I was like, why the fuck am I gonna prepare a four-course meal just for me? Yeah. If you're gonna be coming in late. I just couldn't justify it. And you know we love a Sam's in this house, and during the week they do a discount, so all of their like burgers and wraps are half off. So you can get like a dinner for like five, six quid. Nice. I love that. So ordered it on um Justy, because that's where they have the discount on. I don't know if it's specific to that app, anyway. Um, ordered it on there, came back home, did some bits, then waddled on my way down to to Sam's. It's only like a five-minute walk from our house. Got to Sam's, got walked to the counter, and I was like, Can I can I add a couple of wings actually to my order? I just want three. I was like, Can I just have three wings? I've just I was starving, so I my my eyes were bigger than my tummy at that point. Um, and she was like, Yeah, yeah. So I tapped pay. This girlie goes, Love your nails. I was like, Thank you, I get them done at XYZ. I was like, I was like, I love the red. Um great for summer, you know, really fun. I was like, there's really long, but I go here. And she's like, Oh, I need to go there. She was like the one opposite that shop, and I was like, Yeah. Um, and she was like, she was packing my order, um, and she put two extra wings in the bag for me. She might put some extra ones in there. Helping a little bit pop out. I was like, yeah, I was like, this was a great day. Great afternoon. And earlier on that day, I was in the office and I managed to secure, you know, one of those seats in like the you know the bit with a table where it's like first class, but it's now it's open to standard class tickets. Yeah. And it's like you can sit on the chair with the table, and there was no one next to me. A Cm sat, put my laptop in front of me, was editing the pod. Nice, lovely commute home. Happy days. Usually I'm sweating my fucking tits off. Yeah, yeah. I'm stood up, and there's a smelly man next to me. So it was stunning. A great evening. Anyway, those are my dates. Uh how are you? I mean, yeah, girl. I feel like Emma's had a case of the big sad. Do you know how to argue for the big sad? I am having really big highs and really big lows. At the minute, yeah. At the minute, yeah, and I'm just like trying to work it out, talk about it. I don't feel through it. I don't know how much I can say. Yeah. I think when situations sometimes involve I just don't really know, it's hard. Yeah. Because it's not just something that's just happening to you, like my dryness on my breast assist. I mean, that's just me. I'm I'm gonna talk about it because I trust you guys, and I do think as much as this feels like oversharing massively, this is also very therapeutic to sometimes just talk about it. 100%. Um, why do I feel like I've done these disclaimers at least three times recently? Um, but I am someone who feels everything so intensely, which is why I can't do anything half-assed. No, I'm not someone to just do something for the sake of doing it. I'm either all in or I'm not. Yeah. But recently I thought something was going really well with a guy. I'm gonna speak really honestly here, Lydia. Brain me in, brain me in, brain me, and I thought, do you know what? I was like, this is going really well. Boy, was I wrong. It is so hard to be a lover girl out here in these streets, and there's just no lover boys. Well, like you said, we we get ahead of ourselves, we get ahead of ourselves. It's not a joke, we really we get excited. Yeah, we get excited 100%, and I think I constant I'm constantly analysing situations where I've gone wrong, like um, where I've done things right. I'm constantly thinking of multiple outcomes of one situation. I'm really in and sort of locked in with my thoughts a lot, so I feel like this lot this past week where things have sort of unraveled and sort of perished, I'm really sort of deep in my thoughts and over-analysing anything. How could I have done something differently so I wouldn't be in the same in these shoes right now? But I'm finding being in the dating world and being the kind of person I am, the kind of woman I am with my education, my emotional intelligence, what I bring to the table, I think that can make it really hard to date, if I'm honest. Yeah, I think it's hard to find someone who's gonna who's gonna tick my boxes. So when I meet someone who I'm like, oh, I really get on with you, I get excited about it. Yeah, and I am someone who is just quite intense like that, yeah, and I can figure out within the first like hour or something with someone whether I'm into you or not, you know, and that's it. And I will never be someone to to give my girlfriend advice if they are like me, and go, well, that's where you're going wrong, you need to rein it in and do so and so to protect yourself and whatever. Because for me, that's just saying, be unauthentic to who you are as a person in order to protect your heart. I'm like, surely that's not the way to do it. Surely you you you're your unapologetic self, and that will help you find your person, you know. Yeah, I think you have to give something your all. I don't know where the line is between getting ahead of yourself and setting yourself up to fail and being authentically yourself, like you have to give it your all and show how you feel and get excited about people because that's you being genuine, but then where does the oh I've got to protect myself because what if da da da doesn't work out? Do you really want to live like that? Yeah, yeah. I think one part of me a part what I've really been sort of battling with this week is like being at peace, knowing that there's men out there who will literally date you to get what they want out of a situation and use you, and that for me, I'm like, how can you live with yourself as a person knowing that that's how you treat people, other people, yeah, like I'm someone's daughter, I'm someone's sister, you know? Like I'm a person with feelings too, especially when that man says that they have women that they value in their lives, yeah, yeah, and they can just three they can just 180 on you, yeah, like completely. Like, I think if there's anything you and I have had this year that we can both relate on, is men switching up on us. Yeah, like it's really scary to think that when you first meet them, you're gassed, yeah, and then a week goes by or a month goes by and that person is the reason that you're really struggling. Yeah, that's so scary. It's so scary, and it makes you want to completely retract and it makes you it makes you worried that you're not gonna just like find your person, yeah, or find a genuine connection. It's so scary, yeah. And then also as well, like one thing that through that experience, it's also really humbling and really quite saddening. It really knocks you when someone doesn't like you for who you are because I can't change who I am, yeah, and then someone like you literally being your unfiltered oversharing self with someone, you're so genuine, you literally show up as yourself, yeah, and then for them to turn around and say they don't like you because of who you are, that's also something that's very like yeah, that just makes you feel like crap because it's like, well, I rate you and I would want you to be a part of my life, but the reasons why you don't want to be with me is because of who I am as a person, yeah. That sucks, you know that does suck, that sucks, and I know I've got a lot going for me, and I've got a lot of friends and family who tell me, you know, do you know what I mean? Yeah, but like this is the thing with dating, as much as like the single life is great, and like the dates are entertaining, and I love the stories I get to share with you guys when shit goes tits up, and I've shared a lot of date nightmares on here that haven't rocked me, yeah. But I think if I'm keeping it 100, I said to Lydia, I was like, I don't even know if I'm gonna talk about this because I was like, I don't feel like I'm ready, and this is also really vulnerable conversation for me. Yeah, but then I'm also like, I mean, if someone's listening to this right now and they were really blindsided in a situation that they thought was going well, then I'm right there with you, Chica. I really am, and it has knocked me, and I have felt really sort of like alone in those thoughts, and I'm like, it's it's something that I'm struggling to like just shut out and move on from and be like, Well, it is what it is, he's just another guy, hit him with your car, if you know what I mean. Yeah, like um, yeah, so yeah, it's just one of those things, and I'm like, it's all about like getting back on the horse and stuff like that, but getting back on the horse is sometimes hard. Yeah. Do you feel like you're gonna do anything different moving forward? What do you think? Well, this is the thing I'm struggling with because I'm like, I feel like the only thing I could have done differently is maybe like not have not got too excited or been to like um I don't know, jump into a conclusion without doing maybe a full vet of someone. Yeah. But then I'm also like, I don't know how I'm supposed to not be like that because that's also a my favourite thing about myself, yeah, is how sure I am on something straight away, you know? Yeah, so I don't know, it's kind of rocked me. I've got I've got hints still on my phone, yeah. And guys, I'm like completely repulsed by the notion. I feel like I was really excited about it a few weeks ago, and I had all these stories and stuff like that. It's a full-time, but now I'm like, oh, this just feels really unnatural. Yeah, um, but I don't know. The the dating saga continues. I'm gonna keep going for it, but maybe we'll chat a little bit more about like dating a little bit later in like the 25 catch-up. But space where I'm dating. Yeah. Um, sorry I cut you off there. No, go ahead. Um, just to say on that, it's very Emma's the kind of person where no one can tell her shit. You you can only process how you feel when you are ready. No one can give you an inspirational quote or a cuddle, and it's gonna fucking help. No, like you need to go through the paces. So I know that you've been struggling this week trying to go through it, but I know that you don't have perspective now, and you're not sure of the reason why now, but you will like you will, and I'm sure of that. Yeah, and I say that to whoever, whoever's listening, and they're feeling shit right now about someone else, or being dumped, or being stood up, or dating someone who's going really well, and they're and then one day they disappear. Like, if you're going through that, it's fucking shit. But what do we say? Rejection is protection and redirection. There we go. Yeah, you know, it's true, it's true, but it's true, it's hard, girl. It is hard, it's hard out. You've really gotta kiss a few frogs. I have people who I've tried to fix it with and it's ended, and they still swipe up every Christmas birthday in Marathon. Yeah, it's it's ridiculous, you know, and it's just like it doesn't make any sense. I think these men need to be studied in labs, yeah. Because I honestly can't explain the bizarre behaviour. Absolutely. Speaking of bizarre behaviour, yeah, uh, Love Island is still going on at the minute. Um, Emma and I shared our Casa predictions, and this week we have just watched the aftermath of Casa unfold, and there is so much going on in that fucking villa at the minute. Yeah, there really is. There's so much to talk about, and we just wanted to like close the loop on who our predictions were, who was gonna stick or twist, people who were really struggling at the minute, our thoughts on the boys' behaviour, the girls' behaviour, and everything in between, and if there's light at the end of the tunnel. Um, I think the major sort of storyline in there at the moment is Cav and Jazz.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And um Charlene. Sorry, our girl Charlene from Casa, Bless her, who I don't feel like is getting enough recognition for how tough this is for her.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, but when we spoke about this last, we did say Kav would bring someone back, and he did indeed bring someone back. He really did. Um, and since then there's been movie night, so everybody's watched the the behaviour and the shenanigans unfold. Um there's been a lot of discourse online. Emma, what's your thoughts on this whole situation? Is anyone more at fault than the other? Do you feel like Kav and Jazz have have potential to rekindle things? I do feel like there's an ad a door ajar with Charlene after Monday's episode. I feel like there's a little bit of a oh okay, maybe I'm gonna speak to both of you. What what are your thoughts? Kavan is my I felt like I had made my mind up about the boys' behaviour collectively with all of their experiences and how they approached Casa. Yeah. Kavan after last night's ep and seeing him having the door the door a little bit ajar, yeah, um, is kind of going against my observation of it all. But my hot takes are there's something that needs to be studied about how the men treat Casser more and the women that go in there. Yeah. I think they treat Casa. I'm sorry, this is so bleak, like a brothel. They really do. That is how they treat it. Not a brothel, a brothel, and all the women in there are sexual symbols, and the connections that they have with them. I'm sorry, you just wanted to jump in bed with her and sleep with her. They're not genuine connections, they think with their penises when they're in there, yeah, and then they bring it back and they're stuck between their head and their dick. Yeah, I'm sorry. That villa is the definition of out of sight, out of mind. Casa is the definition of that saying, and I think you're right. I think these girls are sent in, they have three days to graft, and I think a lot of them probably feel uncomfortable with the level of forwardness they have to be with these men. Oh yeah, they have to be, they have to they have to sell themselves. They have to sex these men up, yeah. Yeah, and I imagine some of them probably want to do that, but also with the calibre of men that were in there, I'm like a lot of them were probably put in a position where it was like, you know, like a dog chasing a car. Yeah. It's like, do I actually want you? Or or am I just like these men are put in this this powerful position almost where I I get to take you back or whatever. Yeah, and as soon as these men are getting back in the villa, not one man has stayed with their Casa Girl. Lorenzo has, but Lorenzo hasn't even anyone. Lorenzo's coupled up with him and the sunshine. Yeah. Because he's trying to get his tan. That that that is that is all that's going on there. Um it's it's it's insane, and I feel like I mean, do I feel like accountability is being taken? Sure, I guess. Yeah. Um Samraj, absolutely not. Kav, I think, bless him, that boy, I don't think he knows if he's coming or going. I think he's had a lot of a lot of strong opinions thrown at him. I don't even think he knows what he wants anymore. Like he's got his older brother's opinion, which, as people who have an older sibling, and if you've got an older sibling, you know how much that can play a part in your decision making. So I think that spun his head. He's got Jazz, who's being very strong with him, about how she feels and how she feels disrespected. So he automatically kind of wants to fix that. Then you've got Charlene who's on the back foot, and she's just kind of like the brunt of this, unfortunately. I think he doesn't know what he's doing. Simba, oh my god. Public vote, public vote, public vote. That's all I'm saying. I don't un free Angie. I don't understand how many times this man is gonna make this mistake. I think she deserves better. However, with the how the format of the show runs, I think Simba's her only option if she wants to stay in there. Yeah. He's like, he's making her a yogurt bowl, and he's he's cried once and he's like, I want to be a better man. I just don't know what they are with it. That's not good enough. All this why why is it that the women, and I've seen this time and time again, they have to go on this forgiveness journey to find their man. Yeah. Why? This redemption, why do they have to s they get their man at the start? It's all beautiful, it's all sunshine and roses. The men get tested, they jump into bed, they're kissing all the girls, da da da. They fuck up, they fuck up, they fuck up, right? Then they they're then they think. I love the way they position themselves, like they're on this emotional journey, finding themselves. Yeah, I'm becoming the best version I think of Simba. Yeah for you. Why do you have to go on that journey in here? I know, and then my journey is how it is learning how to forgive. I know. I don't think it's good enough. Because let me tell you right now, if the girls did that too, yeah, she'd be for the streets. Yeah, she'd be for the streets. Because then it's like the I find it really hard to sit back and watch the women go, well, if I forgive him, then I'll be rewarded, yeah, then I'll get him. That's sad to watch, man. It's sad. Yeah, I honestly don't know where we go from here. For Kav, Jazz, and Charlene. I don't know how it's gonna end. Yeah, I really don't. I think Kav and Jazz really struggle to communicate, and I also think that ultimately led to Kavin fucking about. Yeah. Because he was unhappy and he felt unheard. That's how he felt. So he went to Casa and he had a great fucking time. That's what happened. Now Jazz feels disrespected. Like, I completely see that. Like the girls said, it's the little things. He him being like, Where have you been for four weeks? I just want to take care of you. Women, we hold on to those fucking things. Yeah, it's not even just the kissing, it's those little things that they say to you that he's now gone and said to another girl. I I don't know if they're gonna be able to patch things up from here, if I'm being completely honest. Um, I think that Angie will most likely take Simba back. Listen, I I don't necessarily agree that it should be one strike and you're out. Do I think people can change and learn from their behaviours? Yeah. But with the time frame that they have in there, he's not gonna become a different person in three days, and then she takes him back. Like in the real world, you kind of have time to go away and and then come back, and that's a bit more natural and I think a bit more genuine, but obviously there's a forced timeline in there, so I get it. Um Mara, oh my god, Queen. What a fucking boss bitch. Yeah, agreed. The way she talks to Simba is actually gentle parents him, and I fucking love it. She went, What did you do this morning? Me? Yes, Simba. I made Angie a cup of tea. And I love that you can admit that. Okay. My next question to you, Simba. Who are you in a couple with? I love it. She's so funny, and you know what? Her hot takes are so insightful. If we're taking it back to Aidan and Kavan and their relationship, she she challenges Kavan and he she goes, Well, why don't you have a mind of your own? Why don't you make your own decision instead of being a puppet to your brother? And I'ma say it. Yeah, I'ma say it. Yeah, I could have a whole episode on the influence of older siblings over younger siblings. Yeah, that shit needs to be studied, yeah. Okay, because the way he is planting seeds like a fucking farmer, like a fucking hillbilly. Mara needs a bloody podcast. She Mara and advice, yeah, podcasts, yeah, similar to our own. Yes. Please get her on. She would be amazing. She just knows how to articulate how she feels, and she just I think she can see things very clearly. Um, and the way she delivers things, I think is just she's just iconic. Oh, she's iconic. Um, and she deserves better, quite frankly, and she knows it. Um, I think we need to we need to get some some boy bombshells, freshman. Yeah, I think that's what we do. I think I think the girls are great. I think we need to get like two guys in there to shake up the place. We do. ITV, bring some of your best, your best work, bring it in to spin the girls' heads. Yeah, no more female bombshells. The men have had enough. Yeah, the men have been spoiled, they've brought back enough enough. Fucking hell. Enough, yeah. Right, yeah, agreed. How many guys came back in from two? Jordan and Tommy. Oh, yeah, you're right. Also, Priya, oh she I think she actually came off worse after movie night. Yeah, she had it from the the disrespect from the guys and the girls. Oh yeah, yeah. Mika, Samraj, and Jazz. Jazz, yeah. Lorenzo. Arguably her closest girls in there and Lorenzo. Like, arguably her closest people in there, and she's just like she's like, people just think I'm a fucking doormat. I feel very bad for her, and I think she needs to maybe perk her ears up a little bit more to the people in there because a lot of people do not have her best interest, yeah. Um, so I hope that someone comes in for her because she deserves a break. Um, because yeah, some of the behaviour towards her is is not is not great. So let's see how it's not let's see how it unfolds, girls. We'll be tuning in at nine pm tonight, see what's going on. Absolutely. Okay, so should we go into the next portion? Yeah, let's do it. Portion portion. Um, we're gonna dedicate the rest of this episode to turning 25. Yeah. We've done a few questions so we can reflect and predict and give you guys some tips, you know. Absolutely. New chapter. Um, so we turned 25 yesterday when we're filming this. Oh my god, you're so right. Um, so nice and fresh. What did we do? What do we get up to? We got up nice and early. We shopped till we dropped. When we said we wanted some mooch a couple of episodes back, we had the biggest mooch Capital M. Yeah. It was fantastic. Yep, yep, yep, yep. Um, courtesy of our lovely mum and big Sass. Yeah, we had a little shopping girly day. So fun. Sun was shining. Sun was shining, weather was lovely. We went and wandered around Westfield, it was lovely. The White City one, yeah. Best one, in my opinion. Yeah. So good. It was so good. We went to Coz, we went to Mango, we went to Zara, we went to Kurt Geiger, Kurt Geiger. We went into a couple of makeup shops. Yeah. We had a little pretzel from Mr. Pretzel, the vanilla and vanilla and there's another vanilla. It's is it just vanilla sugar? It's vanilla sugar. Yeah. That's it. That was a soft, yeah, sugary pretzel with some um melted chocolate. Yeah. You've got to have a pretzel when you're walking around Westfield. Had a Chinese in the middle of the day. Yeah. Just so indulging, my girls. Indulging. It was just yeah, it was just so nice. We all yeah, we splurged. I am usually the one to go in picking up shit. Tap tap tap pay pay pay. Yeah, yeah. Emma usually holds back. However, the roles were reversed this time. You got stuck the fuck in. Yeah. You picked up a bunch of shit in Zara. Yeah. And I was kind of, oh, I'm not sure. Yeah. But World War III in here, there's shit flocking everywhere. Yeah. Everywhere. The night before I did a wardrobe clear out. I had this suitcase with, like, you know, those big eye care clear bags that everyone uses to move house in. Yeah. Um, move house in with.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and there was loads of shit, and I was just staring at the suitcase, and I was like, do you know what? I was looking at my wardrobe, I was like, there's no seasonality about this wardrobe. Like, I really do need to be rotating my wardrobe as and when I need certain things. And right now I'm just stuffing things in it and shutting it. Like I can't be asked. Yeah. And at the minute, I'm on my like I'm on my wardrobe journey to build like the ultimate wardrobe with loads of basics, all the things I love. I'm able to mix and match. Yeah. Because I go to the office quite a lot. And for someone who has their street style and going out style down, I do not have my professional and day-to-day wardrobe down. I don't know what that looks like. Yeah. I feel like I've struggled to find like I think I was had this massive mix-up in my head where I was like, okay, I need to be like extra, like ra during the day. But actually, I was like, I've got this whole other style that I like to do, and it's just classics. But you want it to still feel like you, you still want it to feel fun, like it's not a uniform. And I think you've found that 100%. Yeah, so you found some really good bits. I organised my wardrobe, took all the winter coats and shit out, took all the things out that I didn't want, did like a charity shop part, da da da. You're so good. Did a clear out of the wardrobe, and then we had a shopping spree. So then when I came home, I put everything in my wardrobe and I felt very excited. Yeah. I'm sporting one of my new purchases today. I bought some jeans from COS. Stun. It's been on my list to go in there and purchase something from there for a while. Yeah. Candice is a COS fan, and as she says, there's pieces in there. Yeah. They've just got some really good basics. They really good basics. And these jeans just feel unreal. Yeah. I did some damage in Zara. Yeah. Um, and I think the the COS, like the way the shop is laid out, is really smart as well. So easy to like go through all the rails. Love those jeans. They look so nice. They're so nice. And I'm just and they're just gonna wear really well, I think, as well. Yeah, obviously not super cheap, but not crazy expensive either. No, and I think there was a couple of things in the sales as well. But I think they're like, they're like they're on the pricier side, but I I would say they're like mid-range, yeah, to be honest. I would go back to get some basics in the back. I want more shit. Oh, and I feel like we need to go to a bigger one. Yeah. I feel like that was quite small. Yeah, maybe we could go to a big one. Because they had men's at the back. I f think they have a big one on Oxford, Oxford Street. Do they? Yeah, it's like two floors. Oh shit, okay. So I think we need to go in there because I think actually I was like, oh, I was I felt like there would have been more. Yeah. There was actually not that many rails, or unless that's just what their shops are like. Maybe. I don't know. But I've had a look on their online store as well. And that's quite easy to scroll through. I picked up some basic tops. I picked up like two white t-shirts, and I'm scared to wear them because guys, I am a spiller. I spill on everything. So I'm a little bit worried to like wear it. You've got to wear them though. I've just got to wear them. But I do need to do a little bit of a wardrobe clear out because I I should have done that before we went. We um we went shopping. But I would say my big purchase of the day was we went into Kurt Geiger and I got a new shoulder bag. I have so many shoulder bags, but this one I would say is pretty like seasonal, like it's quite a fun summery colour. Insert pick. Insert pick. She's stunning. She looks she looks, she's kind of giving Prada, she's kind of giving like it. You got it from your mother's wardrobe back in the day. Yeah, it's fun, and I can imagine it in Italy when we go away in a in maybe like a white dress or like maybe maybe like a like a skirt, hair pulled back. I don't know. I think it's gonna be cute, and it's nice with gold accessories, so she's stunning. So I got that. Um, guys, can you believe it? Made the purchase, bought the bag, um, and then when I got home at eight o'clock, I got an email from Kurt Geiger with a £20 um voucher for my birthday. Fuck. I was like, why didn't the lady apply it at the deal? But I didn't go, it's my birthday because I don't want to be an oriented date on that. I don't know, but Athena's always shopping there, so she was like, Oh, she's like, Do you mind if I use it? I'm like, Well, sure. I was like, someone might as well fucking use it. Oh my gosh. Um, so that was lovely, and then I picked myself up some flip-flops that I've been wanting for a while. Some havyanas, some black square toe ones. Nice, which I love a square toe. Have been wanting for a minute. So I'm glad that I got those. So successful shopping trip, and um thank you for everyone that messaged yesterday and made it really special. I asked mum to make us a cake, and I kind of special requested it like a couple of weeks ago. I was like, Mum, could you make us like an Avatar-themed cake? I was like, Can you stick Rice Ann's face on it? Or just make it mystical. Make it mystical. And I completely forgot that I said this to her. And then when we got to Mum's yesterday, um, this was the cake that she presented us with insert pick.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, for the audio listeners, it had two sets of wings stuck in the top of it, and on the top was written, must have wings. And I think mum was alluding to men. So I don't want him if he doesn't have wings, which is a podcast reference. I think it's a quote from me. Yeah, exactly. Um that was really fun. It doesn't have wings out of one him. Yeah, it doesn't have the wings out of one him, so that that was the reference. So that was um really lovely of thief. Um we had a really special day, so thank you to Mum and everybody that um came along and made it really special. It was so fun. Okay, cool. Right, so should we get into the questions? Let's get into the question, right? So, question one is what advice would you give 25-year-old you? What advice would 25-year-old you give to 20-year-old you? Yes, right. Um, can I go first? Go ahead. This is not this has not come from me at all. I saw, god forbid, I saw a video on TikTok that this um creator made. His name is hang on, I literally saved it yesterday, AJ Paps in Capitals, right? Have you seen this man? No, no, he said, Mum, cover your ears, and it really fucking blew my mind when I heard it, right? Okay, um, and I would give this advice to 20-year-old me because I I just think about like the men that I've been entangled with from 20 to 25 now, and I'm like, that maybe would have made me stop and pause for a brief second.
SPEAKER_02Oh god, what are you gonna say?
SPEAKER_01How don't you fucking tat? Watch this content not gonna be. approved now um oh i just hit the mic he said if you can't call this man for help with anything you shouldn't be fucking him i'ma say it again if you can't call this man for assistance without thinking you should not be sleeping with him and i think about this for myself over the last 12 months because i'm gonna be very frank the man that i've slept with over the last 12 months if i think who would i could i call him if i'm locked out of the house or i need help with the car or that something's happened no I couldn't I would not call this man and also he wouldn't he would be like why the fuck are you calling me yeah guys he would hang up and go what's wrong are you okay yeah no hang up just message you good yeah yeah yeah oh you're so right so that would be the advice I give right that's I heard it and I was like yeah because this touches a lot of areas if you if you can't call that person for assistance you are not connected on a friend's basis let alone a romantic basis it's fully physical unless you want that this is gonna save you a lot of mess so the next time that you're thinking should I sleep with him like can I call him if my car broke down and I needed help you're like no like maybe I shouldn't do that so that's I wish I heard that advice like a year and a half ago but it's okay. What about you? Mine would probably be no one is thinking about you as much as you're thinking about you. Yeah that's a good one. No one gives up no one cares no one cares. No one cares you hate your arms no no one cares that you no one cares about your knees and those shorts. Yeah yeah no one cares that fuck I don't know you cut your hair a little bit shorter than you no one cares that you started a podcast yeah no one cares no one cares um I hope people care but no no one is concerned about themselves more than they are concerned about themselves. You're so right I think the earlier that you can come to peace come come to terms with being uncomfortable and and being embarrassed to the point where you don't feel embarrassment anymore the more you'll get done and the more you'll start serving yourself. Absolutely yeah like actually do more embarrassing embarrassing shit yeah get that out of your system to the point where you do will not feel embarrassed about anything and take life by the fucking balls yeah genuinely yeah 100% I also think like you you don't choose the pain that's given to you right you can't choose that you're dealt it like it is what it is I had this thing and it was like you can look at the darkness and you can acknowledge it but don't stare at it like you have to be able to feel things sit with things but then be able to move on at the same time because I think you and I we've stopped doing this now and there's there are occasions where we still do this Emma and I will sit and we will talk about an issue that makes us feel like shit for maybe an hour. An hour yeah two hours and then that literally fucks up our whole our whole day. Yeah because we'll stare in the the darkness and we're like oh god girls come on packed it guys we shouldn't have no no no we shouldn't have there was one thing you said like like the benefit of having a partner is like you can you can share this shit with them and it's new to them I already know I already know what's tough we already know we already know nothing to there's no point me talking to you about it because you I already know you already know I know this is like am I gonna drag her down with me now into this we're the original partner this is the first time they're hearing this shit I lived it I'm living it with you yeah yeah yeah and we talk about our problems sometimes we'll especially in Cyprus we'll just sit in the car we'll like we'll drive to the bakery we're like fuck it's been a tough day and we'll just sit and stare and eat and e people watch will be like and we'll just talk about the same issue over and over and over again it sucks guys you have your pain it's been dealt with it's been dealt to you life is unfortunately can be extremely unfair and I don't necessarily think good things happen to good people all the time bad things happen to good people too we just gotta keep it keep it stepping do you know what else I would say what do you know what other advice I would give 20 year old me stop don't let the main goal when meeting someone new be can I make them like me yeah when you meet someone new you do not have to make them like you yeah you don't have to do that and I thought that for so long every person I met I need to make them like me I need to say what they want to hear yeah make them like me make them like me people please people please if they like you bonus yeah but do not sit and every new person you meet be how can I make you like me because let me tell you right now you'll look around one day and be like I'm surrounded by people who I have no genuine connection with because yeah they your first introduction with them was how can I make them like me so you became a version of yourself that they would like and it wasn't you. Yeah get that yeah get rid of that and if you're not sure if you're like that pay attention to how you feel when you meet people who are standoffish yeah is your automatic response um put on a show clown because that's me love me I'm gonna I'm gonna win you over chess square and then they're like you're my best friend and you go yeah wow oh shit paid off I do not feel that way about you yeah I just want to win you over it now makes me uncomfortable that you like me more than I like you. Yeah wow that is so real that's real okay next next one I think those are the main sort of nuggets of advice I think so and also just stop taking shit so seriously yeah I think I'm gonna get be graded at the end of this life yeah I think I'm gonna be given a s like be rated one to ten yeah how hard did you try yeah yeah like I'm still trying to feel this Lydia is really not that deep but I feel like it's so deep yeah yeah yeah that's yeah that's the last thing I have to say yeah I think oh shit my my friend my gorgeous beautiful friend Mel said something that I had to write down and she said the joy of youth people just need to enjoy being young yeah and stop rushing yeah to get older yeah how can I set myself up for success at at 20 years old so I am where I need to be when I'm 25 meaning I can't mean I have to have answers for everything I need to act older than I'm ready for right now you know just do it because you're young and you want to do it no one is expecting shit from you just have fun guys and you can do it in a fun way absolutely remember to be serious all the time we're the only animals on the earth that pay to be here like it's all a fucking that is crazy. You know that's crazy anyway next question. Yeah uh what are the intentions and hopes from now until 30 from now until 30 25 to 30 certainty I hope that by the time I'm 30 things I feel uncertain about will just work themselves out. I think there's there's certain things in mine and Emma's lives right now that we're just like I really don't know how the cards are gonna fall with this situation. Yeah and the only comfort I seek is that it it will all work out I don't know how but it will and I hope that by 30 I can look back and say yeah I was right it's it was gonna it's gonna it's gonna fall how it's meant to and everything's gonna be okay. Yeah. Um yeah everything we're doing now is in the hopes that when we get to 30 yeah I have the privilege to be like I can plan what the next however long is going to look like because I know what it will look like as opposed to being like right we're taking it day by day. Yeah. I would say by 30 financial freedom yeah I want to be self-employed by 30 I want us to be self-employed I want our brand to have more of a life of its own and a personality of its own um I hope there's some sexy men I hope they're too sexies. I would love love for both of us yeah love companionship yeah because I think we're probably scared to admit that because it's like love isn't everything you're single yeah you've got friends I know I've got that a partner would be nice not necessarily a husband no by 30 I'd look her with a ring who knows who knows yeah I get thing is how long can you be with someone before it's like a it's alright to get engaged I don't know like me a week like three years four years yeah maybe so if I'm 25 now I have to meet this man by 26 27 you sound like Rachel I need to meet the man of my dreams by um 30 well speaking of meeting partners our dad met our mum at 25 yeah and that's what he said to us on the phone the other day how did how did he say it to you yeah so that was obviously a beautiful story to hear but then that puts so much into perspective for us who me and Lydia live together like a mad we might meet them this year well yeah you're right actually do we meet them future Emma and Lydia 26 do you meet them do you meet your partners finish this clip I would love to have boyfriends at the same time that would be amazing. You know what Emma and I always say it would be so nice to go on like a couple's holiday yeah can you imagine? I know us in duty free this is including Athena as well because the six of us yes sisters the boyfriends were going on holiday I know for a week somewhere we're just always the single sisters yeah always we are and Athena's mum's fucking sad I know anyway what to go back to what dad said about so dad said he he he recalled a really beautiful memory of mum tanning on the beach topless and when she used to see dad she used to just run up to him on the beach and the other day I went mum I don't know if mum would do that sorry if mum's like fucking hell girls you're oversharing here I think the girls the girlies from work mum's work listen to this leave this to yourselves girlies don't bring this up when she's on the clock um off the clock you know have at it yeah um but I was like mum is this true she went yeah that was the best looking thing on that beach too fucking right um anyway companionship partners that would be amazing financial freedom financial freedom um yeah just to be like full full-fledged business partners pursuing everything we wanted to pursue I would love and not having regrets yeah no regrets I don't want to look back over my twenties and feel regretful that I didn't do something if I did so I'd rather be like oh god I wish I didn't do that than I wish I had done that I want to see more of the world as well we've always been people who have never prioritised travel at all and I I often sit down after a day of work and I'm like I just have this feeling I'm gonna go live somewhere for X amount of months and just live somewhere just to experience what that place looks like. Like I hope I I do that um and yeah I think hopes additional hopes is right now our hopes are the podcast yeah but once that's achieved I look forward to the additional hopes that that will unlock yeah because I think there's this is definitely gonna be like a domino effect and yeah I look forward to whatever that's gonna unlock but do you know what else I would love to do I would love to buy a house in Cyprus if we're thinking the sky's the limit I would love to buy my own place yeah in Cyprus that would be amazing yeah and have our beautiful London city flat yeah that would be stunning so not a lot to work on a lot to ask for but you know Emma and Lydia see what you can do that's a suggestion box continuous health but that's without question okay so what do you predict for 25 for just what's gonna happen this year yeah um I think boyfriends I think we're gonna find some boyfriends yeah I think if we're keeping persistent with this fucking app yeah then I think we're gonna find some boyfriends and I also think the the pod's gonna flourish and we'll be building more of a community and I think we'll be be ready to take on a bit more full time. Yeah that's my prediction for 25 what's your prediction I think you've sort of said it all I think I think my predictions for 25 is this is going to translate from more than just being sort of online space and I would love to start meeting some of you lot in the flesh yeah and being stopped in the street and having those conversations in-person connections I hope that starts sort of manifesting yeah in 25 because that that would be amazing. Yeah um okay uh yeah any other predictions potential move to London yeah that's another thing we'll see guys we'll see there's a lot going on we're not putting too much pressure on it I don't think we are it's just if it's right it's right yeah and it'll work yeah you know um okay and then yeah those are the final questions for I like birthday related the last questions uh are England gonna win but maybe we'll leave that to the end. Never know if we're in our England tops I think yeah um I think Ingaloon Engaloo I think one thing birthdays for me I really struggle with birthdays I hate birthdays I love celebrating other people's birthdays but my own is something that I've always struggled with. It's like your own personal new year and if anything with new year it's very you're really reflective on where you are in your life and New Year's resolutions what you're gonna do that's exactly what it is yeah I find birthdays quite overwhelming and I think anytime I tell someone this they're quite shocked because I feel like I come across as the person who'd like to have a party and go all crazy and things like that. I'd love to be that person that just loves their birthday. Maybe 26 maybe maybe um I just don't like to be fast. No yes not really it getting overwhelms yeah it really is it's too much it's too much it's too much yeah um but I mean roll on the next episode of Girls Whoever Share what we're talking about it turning 26. I know God but I guess I don't know if you had anything else to say additionally about on the birthday vibe. Not really I just think every I think most people feel weird on their birthday you have to ride the wave um and it soon shall pass um and I think it's very common for people to like have a cry on your birthday or whatever or if you don't want to make it a big deal you don't have to it's just another day. But I also just like to think how fortunate we are like the people who that do want to fuss for us and stuff and that's actually really nice. Yeah so I think just just focus on that and don't feel pressured to do something crazy if you don't want to do that. You know it's your day. If you just want it to pass by then then just let that happen. But I I felt weird I feel weird a little bit weird today. Yeah um but we'll get back into routine it's gonna feel like normal again yeah definitely okay so last so we so England is playing Saturday yeah at 10 o'clock I'm gonna be at Silverworks on Saturday with all the all the gully pops they're actually showing the match so no one leaves the venue to because we were going to leave and go find a pub. Oh yeah small um that's why we're wearing our in glue and tops because I actually don't know if we'll be able to wear this again so do we think England are going to win if so what do you think the score will be who are they playing again Norway er this literally means squat coming from me well who knows I'm gonna do our predictions and if you're right we're gonna we're gonna put this on so I think they're gonna tie two well no you can't they have to do penalties. No. So who would it be? Who do I think is gonna win? So you could say it could be it could be a tie but then who do you think will win? I think it will be I think it'll be 2-1. Yeah agreed I think right okay even though Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are doing really well yeah I think it'll be two Norway are doing well aren't they? They are so I think so let's see I don't know fucking hell it'll be 10 o'clock on Saturday England might win the girls and I go into the puzzle yeah Saturday 11th of July yeah the girls and I are going to the pub I think needs to get our sorted anyway okay guys thank you for listening we post a new episode every third day yes we do if you haven't already please subscribe if you're watching please leave a review if you're listening yeah there's also our post notifications so you get notified whenever there's a new episode on our YouTube.
