Girlies we know it's been a minute, but we are back with another episode. Lydia's been bed bound with a cold 😷and Emma's been working her ass off so we might have missed an episode last week (woops 🫣). That does however mean that todays episode is the fattest catch up EVER! We talk up coming holiday plans, the love island final and Rihanna's supposed come back to music 🎶 . We wrap things up with an anticlimactic hinge update 📱(if you could call it that) then we finish with our go to segment "do you remember when..."

We are so glad to be back and we promise we will see you next week, for real this time.

Love you lots 💗

SPEAKER_01

Welcome back to Girls Overstairs. Guys, we've been gone. We've dropped off the face of the earth. We vanished. If I can be honest, this is the first time I've put makeup on in like two weeks. Yeah. Seriously. I've been ill. There's been thing this thing going round. People are saying it's COVID. People are saying it's the C word. But how do you I think it's I wouldn't even know where to get a COVID test nowadays? No. Can you buy them in like boots and stuff like that? I don't think you can. I don't even think they do COVID tests for the variants going round. Is it just like is COVID just another word for common cold now? Is it a cold? I wouldn't quite I wouldn't say that. Not a lot of people it kind of felt No, but I mean like the strain that's now about isn't one that people are like obviously I think the general rule of um thumb now is if you're ill stay at home in general. Yeah but it's not a could you still could you still go to work if you had COVID? I don't know. I don't think you can use that excuse anymore. I think everybody absolutely rinsed for COVID. Yeah. I'll never forget when my friend um we all did it once or twice. Yeah, said she had COVID. Yeah. And this is why you should first of all before I say this, this is why you should never have any of your colleagues on socials. No, do not have your manager, do not have the head of department, whatever. Especially on be real, being caught out on be ready. Who's got their manager on be real? I know, I know I don't. That's crazy. Um she's quite a cool manager, was she? Yeah, but the one that tells me just twin telepathy. No, so I'm not weeping it out. Um, I gave it to Emma Loki. I didn't finish my story. Oh sorry. I thought you were trying to I thought you were just trying to vibe. Let me get to the punchline. Shut up. Yeah, listen, listen to me. Emma's always pick like not picking me up, picking me up, pulling me up for interrupting her. I'm sorry. Let you keep interrupting her, I'm not sorry. I'll try and land to point quickly. And Lydia's like, oh yeah, yeah. Totally, I agree with da da da da. And I'm like, that's not where I'm landing, but because you don't let me land, I'm not I'm landing on clouds. I'm letting you land. Go on. Okay, go on. Anyway, this is why you shouldn't have your manager on Be Real because she was in the pub, take like at having drinks or whatever, and I got sent a screenshot being like the pub um COVID question mark. It got sent to me, and I was like, girl, can you please delete so and so off Be Real? Because she seemed she put you as the middleman. Well, it was just in the group chat because we were all pretty close like that. She put COVID question mark. Lol. Wait, like in the middle of the work day, she went so she called in sick and she called in sick and went to the pub that evening. Uh and said she couldn't come to the office. That's a little bit like you know, when you're in school and you're you're sick for either half the week or most of the week, and you feel better by the weekend, and you're meant to go to like a friend's party, and your mum's like, Well, you weren't well enough to go to school this week and you want to go to Bingy's birthday bite. That is what that is giving. No, exactly, exactly. But this is this is the same person. I mean, we took liberties with trying to go to the office. We we both lived relatively far away. Yeah, this is the same person who went when you work online, you kind of take the piss. Like you try and kill two birds with one stone, and my friend's idea of kill killing two birds with one stone was getting her hair done, like she had a hair appointment. She had a balayage and like tape extension installation, which is like the longest hours, it takes like four hours, and they're like, let's just call her Grace. Grace, keep it can you put your camera on, please? She's in the chair in fucking foils. Jesus Christ. What did they say? I can't remember. I I I think it was like, Grace, can you stay on, please? So we can just chat really quick. Shit. Oh my god. I know the only way you can get away with that is if you're doing like a bouncy blow and you're in and out. Foils and everything. No, you're in the lunch break, maybe. If you if it's close, go in the lunch break. And then I think you can only really do like maybe an hour to two hours max. But yeah, she asked me for advice before. She was like, should I do it? I was like, I don't think you should. I think you should probably run it run by run it by said person. Uh, but she ignored my advice. What can you do? You can't save everyone. Tragic, tragic. Um, I gave my cold to Emma, but you're feeling alright now. So I definitely had the C word. I definitely had the C word. But it was like three days. I was sick for a whole last week. Well, I didn't know it was the C word until someone said it. Yeah. No one likes to hear the C word, but I never presume that it is COVID. Well, yeah, because I forget about it. But I was not feeling well. I was in like a state of hibernation. Yeah. But I didn't have like a sore throat, headache, nothing like that. Not no symptoms of the common cold. But it felt like the plague. Like I was just so exhausted, so tired. Yeah. Became a bit of a vegetable. Had to sleep it off really. Yeah. But yeah, I feel I feel like I'm I feel like I'm more myself because I'm flying on Friday. Friday. I'm so fucking excited. Get me out. So remind me again. You're off on Thursday. All day. But the day off Thursday, all day. Because I need that day to pack. Okay. And then Friday, you're like leaving at like lunchtime. Uh I need to be at the airport at one because my flight's at three. Okay. Yeah. Alright then. So that is what are we doing? Um, yeah, I just need the whole day before just to think. Yeah what am I doing? Last minute sh like last minute parcels arriving, last minute washing, making sure everything's sorted. Also, I need to pack, make my room into an absolute pit, and then I also need to set it up for when I come back. Yeah. Because it's gone for like three weeks, and then I'm only here for a week before we're gone again. It it's a literally a week and then we go to Italy. August is gonna be a fun month. Oh Lydia, we fucking deserve it. I'm really excited for August. We deserve it. I'm really excited. We are here and there. It's quite nice. Last year you were on quite a few holidays. I didn't go anywhere last summer. Yeah, well the thing is, I wouldn't even call it summer. Like I was gone September, October. Did you not go to Cyprus in summer? Oh, I was I was in Cyprus for two weeks in September. Oh, yeah. You didn't go in. Not August, because Dad corrected me. I was I was there in August, he went, No, you were here in September. September's still warm though. And then end of September, first week of October, I was in Seville. And the weather was bliss. And then the day the day after we left, there was torrential rain and it like flooded. And it was freezing. I don't want to remind you, but it was freezing here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Freezing. The summer was in.

SPEAKER_01

No. Let's hope it's not the same this year round, but it's it's been fucking boiling. Um global warming, that's all I have to say. But we're going away. I recommend you I recommend. I'm making a proposition. I reckon try and get all your washing done Wednesday night. So Thursday all of it already done. To take with you. Yeah. So then Thursday things are dry and you're packing, and then you only have to do like a last minute wash on Thursday that you can pack on Friday morning. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I mean I'm doing stuff from today. Like I've already got my whites all piled up. You take priority, I won't do anything else. Yeah, yeah, that's fine. I'm gonna do my bedding, but that can hang on like my doors and yeah, need to do all the washing and stuff like that. Do you know what's really like I haven't really shopped for this holiday to Cyprus? Yeah, and I feel like dressing for summer here is different with dressing in summer over there. It is, and I'm just trying to remind myself what I've got. I think I've got a good few bits and bobs, but it is what it is. I'm not trying to deep it because going to Italy afterwards, and that's where I'm like, okay, that's where we're buying things and like trying to elevate, you know. But I'm really looking forward to going back. I feel like I just need to touch grass. I'm looking forward to to the shallant Cypriot men. I've been with the non-chalant English men too long, yeah. Cypriot men, too much at times, but I'm looking forward to the attention. I just want to go to the beach, all right. We can do that. We can do that. I just want to go to the beach, go and get a kebab. We're talking about Cyprus now. Yeah. I want to like just go and see friends, have a proper catch-up. Yeah. But there's people on the list. Yeah, yeah. Do you know what I mean? We were saying we want to try a couple of different beaches that we don't go to. Yeah. Like we want to try Lachey. I think that'd be nice. A few other, yeah, a few other bits bots. Drive up to the village. We've booked basically, we're gonna be working and holidaying at the same time, but we both booked a week off. Which wasn't originally how it was gonna go. No, no, no. We we were originally it was planned that um Emma was gonna you were gonna holiday and then work, and I was gonna work and then holiday. Yeah. And we were like, that's not gonna fucking work. We need to work at the same time and take leave at the same time. Yeah. And I think it makes the most sense to work first and then chill. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm going all out this weekend, going out in the town. Got to do it. You got to. I cannot sit indoors because then I'm working a whole week. So I'm going out. Jade, if you're listening, get yourself ready, hood. In it. We're going out. Um, and then we're going to Italy. As we've mentioned previously, friends of ours are getting married, and we've got three days in the location that they're getting married. Like arrival party, the wedding day party, and then the after party, which is the next day. And then we're driving down to Positano and spending it's like three and a bit days, isn't it? Because we arrive there on Thursday and we leave on Sunday. So Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. But obviously, we only technically have like half a day on Thursday, and then Sunday we have to be up quite early to be back at the airport. But I'm so excited to just go to a new place. I spent all week trying to find places on TikTok. Like, what are the best beaches? Are we like what are the best beach clubs to go to? Restaurants, because I refuse to fall in a tourist trap. I want to find the most local authentic places to go to, and I feel like I've found a couple, which I'm very excited about. Okay, nice. Um, so I need to share them with you because Emma, if you didn't already know, is the she is the itinerary queen. You can find things very well. Thank you. You're you're really good at like pushing through all the crap and the tourist traps and finding actually really good places to go. So I'm trying to do that for you, but I think you might need to do the final audit of of stuff because I I feel like we need to try and book as much as we can. Give ourselves room for like I don't necessarily think we need to book lunch spots. I think let's see how we feel. Yeah. But I think we need to book our dinners so we know where we're going. And then I also found this nightclub in a cave. It's in the cave of the cliff face. Lydia, Lydia, Lydia, you know. Yeah. I like to take the drinks international in it. Can we please? But our Airbnb is at the top of 70 steps. Surely we have to do the same thing. Got upstairs. Surely we have to do that on the last night. The last night? Well oh, we just go there once. I think I agree. Surely last night bang, big bang. We can kind of go all out. Yeah. We just have to get up, get early get up early for our flight. We get home at a decent hour. Yeah. But I think we should do defo does. We couldn't drink. Oh, okay. Alright, we can maybe twice if we're feeling like it. So maybe we don't leave it to the last time. God, do you know what? The last time we went to Rome, we weren't well enough to go out for drinks. This time I'm getting my revenge. Yeah, I cannot wait. No more sickness. No more. In the last time we were in Italy, we've got little about the well. Oh my god, as if we've I literally spoke to you guys about this, literally in episode number five. I can't even lie. And I just said how depressed I was that we couldn't come out with these. We're gonna find them again. Honestly, we're gonna find can you show me? Yeah, show me a little give me a little visual. I feel like I can't remember what it's called. Um, also, if anyone has any Positano Rex, please share them. Yeah, absolutely. Um, because I'd love to see them, honestly. Um, oh hang on. Do you know what? I just think um I was just thinking about talking about itineraries. TikTok is the place to find recommendations. That's where I find all of my recommendations. Google Maps and Googling places just don't so it doesn't fucking work. Oh my god, they just it's called Music in the Rock or something like that. So it's literally in a cave. To describe this video, he's literally going through an archway and he's gone through and there's disco balls hanging from the ceilings. Oh my god, stop! Looks cute, but I don't know where go. I don't care where it is, high, low, left and right, we will find it. We will find it. Um, I also want to see if I can talk you into doing something else. Oh gosh. Um because I think if we're gonna go glab, we're glabbing. Um, I really want to do the path of gods. Which is like it is alright, I've done one of those. Um Emma, you literally walked 26 miles. I can do anything. What what the fuck is it? It's a famous hiking trail. So um the Path of Gods, and essentially um it's it's 9.8 kilometers. Oh, okay, that's nothing. Yeah, which is about it's a two-hour one-way walk, or three to four hours, depending on how much you stop and take pictures and all this stuff. So there and back. I think it's it think you walk from one side of Postano to the other and it you finish off in the town. Okay. So it's like we can get in the town and then we can have food and then we go back. So we kind of thing. So we have to pack appropriate footwear. I think we need a pair of trainers, but I think I should bring a pair of trainers anyway because of the drive. Oh, true, okay, fine. So I think we should bring a pair of trainers and go. So, yeah, what what does this look like? So it's it's like the highest point on the coast. Guys, I'll insert pick. Where are we fitting that in? Oh girl. This looks like a drenching. It's paths, like it's not it's like a moderate hike. Okay. I really want to do it, and you know what also really interests me in it. Um, also, there's like water points along the way, and like it's not completely like in the mountains, like it does kind of come on the road and whatever. Um, but it's linked to um Greek mythology. Oh, of course it is. It's so the the path of gods, correct me if I'm wrong, guys, is um it's linked to the the story of the Odyssey. Oh, stop. It is. So let me um let me just get up why it's called that. So basically, it was so I think the gods walked that way to save um to save oh what's his name from the sirens on the coastline. They walked on that path to save so and so from from um why is it called potential TikTok with an Odyssey Odyssey sound pending? No, because we still haven't watched the film. No, we haven't. Exactly. I'm not, and you know what? I'm not watching a fucking film in a separate cinema. Are you joking? There is no cinema etiquette in Cyprus, particularly Pathos in what's the what's the Cineplex? Cinaplex. There are there honestly, in one cinema, like one of the rooms, one of the theatres, whatever, there is a splat on that screen and it has been there for four years. Yeah, okay, so I've got the story. Legend says the Greek gods rush down this clifftop route to to save Odysseus from the enchanting sirens living on the nearby island. Okay. So it's a part of Greek history, Emma. How can we not go and walk it? I want to, but I think right now we're still building what we want the itinerary to include. Oh my god. So I think we just like need to establish what we want the days to look like because we haven't got long. Do you know what I've realized as well? We've said we're vlogging this trip. Have we? So these lot are coming with us. But do you know what we're gonna vlog with? We've ordered new phones. Yeah. Well, I've ordered mine. I'm gonna order Lydia's today. Yeah. But it's the 17 Pro Max and the camera's lit. And we're not doing we're not doing cameras anymore. We're not doing we're not gonna bring the camera with us. It just didn't work. No. When we tried to vlog Cypress, it's very big. Also, the zoo the lens doesn't zoom out as much as you would like. Like it's it's a bit of effort, and I just want it to feel a little bit more yeah, effortless. So many people vlog with their phones though. So I feel like that's the way we're gonna do it. That's the way we're gonna set us up for success. Yeah, let's vlog it. That'll be nice. Let's bring them back. You're coming to the cave with us, bitch. You're gonna come to Italy with a start finish. So exciting. It'll be so nice to look back on as well. Definitely. Um cool, okay, guys. Uh, Love Island is coming to a close. I think a lot of us are probably feeling like, what the fuck are we gonna watch when it's over? Um, if anything, I can't wait for all stars to start. But you know what? I don't know if this is an age thing or if it was just the season. I'm not like sad it's over. Is my frontal lobe developing? No, it's not that, it was just a bad batch. Yeah, weird batch. A weird batch. I think there was a lot of focus on certain narratives, a lot of like drama, da da da. I feel like in previous seasons we've had a lot of love towards the end, we can really feel it through the camera. Yeah. Whereas like now I'm just like I've sort of lost interest, I can't lie. Yeah, I agree, I agree. Um, but we do want to give our predictions for um tonight's the final, so we wanna literally 45 minutes. Is it? Oh my god, what the hell? What the hell? Um, we want to give our predictions for how we think people are gonna place, as well as who we think um Samraj and Mika are gonna dump tonight because they've done a twist this year, as you've seen, and there's no there's isn't four finalists anymore, it's three. So I'll open the floor to you first, Emma. Who do you think Samraj and Mika are gonna dump first? And then who's your first, second, and third place? Okay, so our couples are Angelista and Simba. Yeah, uh Tommy and Yaz. Yeah, Jasmine and Cav. Yep, and uh oh, uh Yulia and Lorenzo. Oh I'm so sorry, guys. Who do I think they're gonna get rid of? Yulia and Lorenzo.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I think as well.

SPEAKER_01

Because they haven't said they loved each other yet. And if I know Sam Raj's lot logic from what I've seen thus far, I can just see him be like, but they haven't said hello, they haven't said hello, they haven't said I love you yet, and I just think that they're not as compatible as the rest of the you know? Emma, that was so Good. I felt like Sam Raj was literally sat on the sofa next to me. You've got the tone, yeah, and like the the way he he kind of ends his sentences on a low, yeah, like this. Yeah. But do you know what? I do I've got a lot of love for you, bro. It's very, I've got do you know what? I don't know what it is, but he has a very distinctive accent. But it's not like every brummy accent I've heard. It's really subtle, I would say. Yeah, it isn't. It's not as brummy as like my friend Aiden chat Aiden. Like, I can do I can do brummy and Aisha, I can do brum if you want me to do brum. But yeah, he's got a very distinctive voice. But I think he they will send them home.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um first, second, third place, third place. Because Mika will not send uh Jasmine home. No, she won't. Um, and I think they've had they she's had a lot of beef with um Yulia, but the public will lose their fucking minds. Yeah, they will. And if and if Julia and Lorenzo uh go, Angelista and Simba Thorne. Do you think I think Jasmine and Cav second and Tommy and Tommy and um Tommy and Yaz? Wait, Tommy and Yaz were dumped. No, they weren't. No, no, no, no. Tommy and Yaz were they're still there. I think they'll be in the bottom because of all the boyfriends. Yeah, they will. I agree. I agree. But I think the public will be outraged because I think they'll think I think the public want uh Tommy and Yaz to to go home. Yeah. So what do you think? I don't know. I don't feel like I have a definitive winner this year. I think there's there's been holes with everybody. Um if there wasn't all the stuff about Tommy and Yaz that came to the surface, I think they probably would have won. Yeah because they were seen as like the most unproblematic pairing. In terms of who I think loves each other the most, I think Angelista and Simba would last longer than Jazz and Kav just because I think there's a there's a lot of fieriness there. And I don't think Kav like I think he's trying to keep her sweet, and I don't think it's gonna last very long. I understand. But I hate to say that because I feel like they have and had the most chemistry out of everybody, yeah, so that makes me sad. Um, but I just think they've been through a lot, I think. I don't know, I don't know. But I do think it's Angie and Simba, but I just love the fact that Simba stood up for um Yulia.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think he's shown growth, I think you know, he can be dramatic, and I think he didn't really know how to take no for an answer in earlier episodes. Yeah, but do I feel like I've seen him grow? Yeah, I would say so. Yeah, I think for me, I think there's opportunity for all this character development that we've seen in Aiden and we've seen in Simba and so on and so forth, particularly like with the male contestants. Yeah, there is opportunity for significant regression as soon as they as soon as they exit those doors, yeah, you know? Yeah so I'm hoping that doesn't happen. Yeah, because free Angie, but also we'll we'll see. But I'm not as invested as I would was before. However, I am so excited for all stars. So when does that start? I don't know. Is it before do they send them in like September? I think it's that we've got like two months and then it's on. Yeah, which is great. I feel like we've got some we've got some good people, I feel like, that could go that could go in. Yeah, 100%. Um so we're locking in those answers. Absolutely, we're locking in those. Tommy and Yaz, third place, Jazz and um Cav second place, and Simba and Angie, first place. Angie's a nurse, give her the money, ma'am. Yeah, 100%. All that studying and shit, give her the money. Absolutely. Um cool, those are our predictions, guys. Uh do you know what? I have to just mention one thing. Yeah, you have I don't feel like you've really said what well you kind of have said how you are. You're taking the lead, babes. That's what I'm doing. I'm just so I asked you how you are. I don't think you are, but I didn't I didn't ask you how you were. No, it's alright. I'm alright. But one thing I like in my pod notes, which um I actually needed to blow dust off these notes because they've been sat here for so long. I was like, not that, not that. One of my notes I actually cackled at myself because I clearly wrote this in a stage in a fit of like bitterness and rage. I put I put England didn't win, but I found a lot of peace in the thought that all my exes are probably crying themselves to sleep for all I like for all I care. England could keep losing as long as it hurts you. Girl, I think feel like I was probably drunk when I wrote that, guys. Yeah, yeah. Secondly, Jay Z bringing out Rihanna. Can we just Yeah. Oh, did you she can't she can't keep teasing us, man? She can't is she making music now or what? I don't know. I think she needs some she says she missed it when she was on stage. But what do you mean she came out to run this town? We don't make music like that anymore. No, we don't, we don't, it's actually really sad to see. Such a shame, and it's actually so sad, but I just had to address it. And for any Rihanna fans, Joe, that's going on the fucking playlist. Yeah, how can I add that to the playlist right now? I don't think you I've added you as a collaborator, so you should be able to add it to the playlist. They don't make music videos like that anymore either. They don't. Um, I would oh I would love a Rihanna, a new album or an or an EP. I'll take anything. Do you know what I mean? But I also think there's a lot of pressure for her to come out with things that are good. Can you imagine a 2026 Rihanna song? A new song. I think she would smash it. I think she would give the people exactly what they want. Yeah, but then you say that a lot of people are uh uh act like they support her, and then when she did the Super Bowl, was it was it a couple years ago now? Yeah, she just she she'd just given birth to her baby, and everyone was like, This isn't the Rihanna we signed up for and they were pregnant, they were yeah, one or the other, and people were not supportive, they were like, Yeah, yeah, she didn't live up to what she used to do, da da da. So people are very quick to hate, so I can imagine that's probably in the back of her her mind, too. She was great, I loved her. I love her, I loved it. She could come out and just stand there and not say anything, and I'd pay significant money to see her do that. I just need her to I just need to see her go, uh yeah, that's it. That's it. Yeah, that's all I need to, Ella, yeah, where that's all I need to say. Not even words, just the sounds. Wherp, just the ad libs. That's all I need. Yeah, absolutely. Because I'll just be screaming it back to her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you know what I mean? Um in in other news, for the Cheetah Girls fans, oh my gosh, it's very on brand for us. Um, they are doing a a reboot of Cheetah Girls, and essentially, do you know what the story is? No, so it's it's the Cheetah Girls reformed as a band and um Choo Chi Chanel, who's played by Adrian Bylone, her sister is in the group, and her name is I believe Dior. Which I don't know how people are feeling about that. So there's no so it's only two of the main So I think I think the idea is that like so Adrian and um Raid and Simone are coming back to the series. But that's it. Um, yeah, no one else. Because there was beef, right? There was there was beef. So I think we might see three out of the four of them, but it's about them recreating a group, and I think it's there's like young if they're making the cheetah girls part two, but they are in it, and I don't know if they're gonna coach them to some capacity or whatever. Oh, okay. But the idea is that um Chanel's sister is part of the group, and that's like the connection sort of thing. Okay, I see. Um but I love cheetah girls, I think the songs are gonna be hard to compete with. Yeah. Because definitely, like those songs, I understand they're Disney songs, and they can be like, oh, they're childish. If an artist came out with those songs, yeah, right, in the 2000s, those those would have passed for normal RB pop songs. They can't make songs for Disney like they do now. Like, even with the new Camp Rock trailer, yeah, the music that was in it, they don't make bangers like they do. I mean, I feel like Disney has dropped off with the Disney Channel movies and stuff like that. It wasn't like it was when we were growing up. Who do you think that is? I don't know. I don't know, but like I listen to those cheetah girl songs now and they get me hype. They were gonna be like, they get everyone hype. They're they're honestly amazing. Give me chills every time. They're so good. Like, they're not cheesy. No, the cheetah girls are far from cheese. Yeah, absolutely. 10 out of 10. I mean, I'm hoping that if Adrian and Raven are involved, then we're in safe hands, and hopefully, they have a lot of creative involvement and direction in this project. But I will be watching it when it comes out. Me too. We'll be watching it. Absolutely. Um, guys, just to just to close the loop, we're off hinge. Yeah. Did we say that the last time we recorded? I don't think we did. I can't remember. Um, I deleted it in a drunk state on the train. Yeah. I was like, I didn't even, you know what I haven't done? I haven't paused my profile. I literally just deleted the app. I didn't even want to go into it. Oh, so you're so I need to. So is your profile still active? It's probably paused, to be honest. Right. Um, but I deleted it. I was just like, this is actually, I don't think this is good for me. Like, I felt like I had the sudden realization that I was really fixating on men and matches. Yeah, it's getting a bit much, and it was getting a bit much, yeah. And it was just like dead ends and men living in my phone, and I just felt very in my head, and I was like, I don't think anything good has actually come from this so far. So I'm like, no, I need to take a break. Yeah, I really need to take a break, and that's coming from me. Emma's had what I've had like time to ten, yeah, to say the least. I think in a fit of grief for the man I never had, I deleted the account, and then like was supposed to go on a date, and then it never happened. Yeah, and I just thought, do you know what? I can't. Yeah. I've put myself in the firing line, yeah, and I can only take so much. Yeah, and it was just it was too much. Yeah. No, no, I just think it's so oh it's just so unnatural. Yeah. But you know what? I think you and I really struggle to place ourselves on the like spectrum of dating, like as in what we're dating for. Yeah. I think we really struggle with that. And one thing I saw um this week, it like blew my mind because it's something that you and I have spoken about. Um, I will at the crater in the in the description, but this guy said date for experience and not for an outcome. Okay. You need to date for experiences first, just to just to meet new people and learn about yourself and go have fun. And if it progresses into something, it progresses into something. If you date with an outcome in mind, you're only ever gonna be disappointed. Oh see, I can't do that. I have expectations of everything. But you know what? You're always gonna be disappointed though, because he said if after date one, you now set this expectation and this outcome and this standard for this person between date one and date two, you're gonna feel that level of disappointment on the flip side if they don't meet your expectation or they cancel or or all this other stuff. And I was like, this is so true because one thing that I've really flipped between in my head on hinge, which was part of the reason why I got off the app, was I'm dating to find a partner, and part of me is trying to talk myself out of that because I'm like, oh, I'm not ready yet, I don't know what I'm looking for. I was putting all this pressure on just going for drinks with guys, yeah. So I probably self-sabotage myself to a certain degree, and then I'm also like, yeah, we just need to go on dates and live life. And if you meet a guy you like, you meet guy you like, and if you don't, you don't. Yeah, see, I will have to do a lot of internal workshopping to get myself to that point. For the people who can go on dates and not have any expectations, what do you do to get yourself to that mindset? Yeah, can Candies cover it in an episode? Because I need I need to hear the words and the steps. Yeah, because it's easier said than done in my in my books. Absolutely. Um, so guys, it's it's the cards are off the table for the minute. Um, I can't say that I'm not gonna re-download it. We'll we'll see, but for the moment, I'm just I'm I'm just a little bit done. Yeah, yeah. Um cool. Okay, should we get into the next thing? Yeah, let's do it. I don't think you're ready, girl. No? Yeah. I wrote a couple down and I'm like, the I think these are good, but I'm excited to hear what hear what yours are. So uh guys, we're gonna do another segment of Do You Remember When? We've done a couple of these so far, but I'll just reiterate what the segment is about. So it's the start of a sentence. Do you remember when? Dot dot dot. And Emma and I have gone away and made our lists of things we either experienced together or something that we've laughed about or cried about, and we reshare it to get a reaction um from each other to relive the situation, if you will. Um, and it's just a great way at laughing at yourself for being really real. Yeah, or laughing at each other. Exactly. Um, so I think we've got two each. Yeah. Um, so we're gonna kick start, and like I said, we've got to start our sentence with do you remember when? And then we have to fill in the blank with whatever we've listed. I feel like you should go first because I feel like you had yours prepared for a while. Yeah. And I've just kind of while I was getting ready, Lydia said hers were really good, so I was like, okay. Now I feel stressed. This spot is really hard. Also, once they're out there, they're out there. We have to share them. But this is why we share them so far in the episode because I feel like you this is for the people that are here 38 minutes in, yeah, true. However long it's it's been insane. Okay, go ahead. Okay, do you remember when that mum told my boyfriend at the time that I wasn't good enough for him? Or no, a quote, you can do better. That's what he's that's what she said to him at the time. Can I just add this mum had you in her house when you were a baby and she was friends with our mum big fee? You're listening, right? You're listening, you know exactly who this is. Mumma fee was fuming. Oh my god, and he and she said it to your boyfriend. Yeah. Also, I was 17 at the time, and he was 18 because he was driving. Yeah, 18. Shame on you to to shame another child, but a lot of that that wasn't even just because of you guys dating. It was like I feel like Lydia's Lydia's world and her boyfriend at the time's world were very much led two completely different lives, and I feel like with you guys dating, it was like the We helped bridge the gap social montacues from fucking um Romeo and Julia. Yeah, like she's a blue, she's a blue, she's a blue, he's a red, he's a red. That's exactly what that was. Everyone absolutely hated the idea. Yeah, everyone's an opinion. You're so good. Everyone had an opinion, everyone was absolutely outraged because of the school you went to, because of the people you associated with, because our groups did not rotate in those circles. Really, did they? Not really, but everyone absolutely hated it. I remember that one weekend we went out and three lads from our group came up to me on and had separate conversations with me about how they didn't rape this guy and how he's wondering the guy. Yeah, they like they they were like, really? And I was like, Well, yeah, yeah. Yeah, everyone's really got a fucking opinion here. I choose that. Also, how dare a grown ass woman have an opinion of two 17, 18-year-old kids? Fucking embarrassing. It's weird. Do you know what? This was one of the mums that you did not want to fuck with in the in the future scare. I'll never forget when I got to the age of 18 and I think we were invited to a pool party, and at that age, I was having cigarettes, fine. I was I was having cigarettes, I was drinking, I was doing what I want. I'm fucking 18 years old, right? I'm by her swimming pool, light a cigarette, right? She opens the shutter, points, aight, and I remember I went, I fucking handed it to my friend. I was like, no, I can't, you take that off me. She went, not in my house, sorry. And she took it off me. You were outside! I was by the pool. Ash could have gone in the pool, but it's the way she pulled the window open and went, aye. She was scary. She was fucking smart. That was so scary. Targinat, yeah, scary. Honestly, she was so scary. I'm not even gonna go into I'm not even gonna go into that. I'm just gonna talk about the mum, but Jesus Christ. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, that's all I'm gonna say. My mum sat behind that mum at like a sh there was like a show or something. Yeah. At like one of the dance schools or whatever. She was like, Lydia, I was so close to tapping her on the shoulder and telling her, because of course I told my mum. Yeah, of course. Craziness. Awful to say that, but a child when you're a mother. You can do better. What he she acted like I wasn't in school, I had nothing going for me. She's just better, grumpy kill. Also, I don't even think at that point she knew what I was like as a person. No, she knew 12, 13-year-old Lydia. Yeah, I didn't have a backbone, I didn't have an opinion that was my own at all. So I can understand how she probably thought that that girl was a gutless jellyfish. But you can do better. Yeah, I know. Wild. Are you alright? Wild. Anyway. Jesus. Um, come on. Okay. What's what's your um uh do you remember when we kicked the shit out of each other after that house fight? Listen, like I can claim on my hand how many times you and I have had a physical scrap as adults. Now, listen, if you don't have a sister, you don't fucking understand. Or if you have a best friend, you ask really close, you grew up together, you can probably understand this. But no one will push your buttons like your fucking siblings. Yeah, no one will, yeah, right, literally. I'm so glad no one witnessed that fight. Emma and I were in the streets at 5am. By this week, it's coming up. We started scrapping, the sun was down. By the time we got home, the sun was up. Emma and I were walking single file down this hill, right? I don't even know why it kicked off, but you were walking ahead of me really fast. And I was like, Why can't you slow down? And you were like, I want to get home. And I buckled my ankle and fucked my ankle, and then I was like, Lydia, wait for me. I fucked my ankle and you wouldn't wait. I swear I ran up behind you and shoved you. No, I ran up behind you first. Um you're walking downhill. I'm like, motherfucking. I'm gonna get hobbled over your hands. I don't know why we had such a good night as well. We had no one, we were playing basketball, everyone was drinking, and it went so downhill. And at that point, you had no contacts. I remember you had glasses on your faces, on your face. Yeah. I punched you in the face. glasses in the ditch. Yeah. Lydia had no sign, no sign. Lydia grabbed the chain of her bag and wrapped it rampant. I was like shake me. I was like and then I was like trying to get my mini and I was like my screaming and I punched her in the face again and I was like I was like and then I just thought oh fuck I can't be punching her in the face and this was a nice neighbourhood. I don't know how anyone didn't come outside and go what the fuck are these girls doing? Anyway Lydia's gone my glasses and I was like find them yourself so I walked home and walked home without me walked home I was like fucking leave her I was like I don't give a fuck you rang me and went I'm not coming back to look for well look you're petty fucking bitter and not I was like fucking we squashed it now no I'm still fit I think we should leave it to God sorry I hit the mic we're all getting a bit too excited um and then I rang mum did you walk through the door and I I wasn't we rang mum because I was like I can't leave here without finding my glasses and then also like the place the way you had to walk to this house you had to drive past this house on a cliff face but this house was falling forward like it wasn't built well so this road was blocked off but you could walk past the barriers I was like Mum it's now I'm gonna get down I can't find my glasses I was like trying to like I was looking on my phone eventually found them walked down to the entry point got in the car with mum she drove me back to the house Emma and I go to sleep we wake up the next morning Emma comes into my room and we both just go I was really embarrassed by no that fight was so vicious we woke up the next day bearing around I'm limping Lydia's limping we're both absolutely battered my head hurt we're so battered Lydia's head hurt because I grabbed her hair and I'm like this right literally like pulling her hair it was tender I put my hand in my bag to get my keys and I pulled out a clump of your hair from where I had clearly gone ha like literally like honestly bad oh my god and I remember being like and it was the morning I was like fucking hell because I put the hair back in my back and then pulled out again it was so bad it was so vicious mum didn't even have to tell us to make up if anything we had to apologise mum was fuming mum was fuming with us we fixed it and then we started arguing with mum and we were through hell yeah we did that day we did and we were meant to be grown ups we were 20 years old at that point are you sure yeah because we came back from uni fucking hell because I was with my ex that I I met at uni at that point why does 20 feel really young I know really young yes and but then we had to go to our dad's the next day and we got out the car Emma and I were both limp absolutely fucked absolutely fucked honestly I think I just came and laid next to you and I was like I'm so sorry I was honestly embarrassing. We I actually we kept you were in the bathroom and I came round the corner we shuffled looked at each other and we just went I'm so sorry and you went no I'm so sorry I went that can never happen again yeah absolutely that's the last time we've had a physical fight yeah all of our fights since are verbal yeah 100% are verbal lol imagine um but I think it teaches you like strangers don't get under my skin it teaches you I was like where are you gonna land with this strangers don't get under my skin the way siblings get under your skin yeah yeah like it's different is it drives me to physical violence yeah I don't see how a stranger or a friend could piss you off to the point where it drives you crazy absolutely um sometimes yeah I wish I could I wish someone could have recorded that but I'm also oh my god because everyone would have fed into it no one would have stopped it no are you joking they would have left us to it no that wasn't honestly who's pulling us off each other but then a few days later we described it to our friends and we were an absolute stitch stitches stitches mate anyway um come on oh god do you remember when my landlord at uni used my toothbrush to unclog a drain oh and they didn't tell you no literally you know how I found out fucking hated I hated all of my landlords at uni I can't even lie they were all annoying as fuck but this my second year landlord he would show up and just unlock the door and come in the house my friend Laura shout out Laura she'd walk around stark as all the like all the time like Laura needs put some clothes on because you never know when Mr. Bloody what's his name about to walk through the door I'll never forget she was doing some so um Laura's got a studio she does nails and loads of like um not self-care loads of um beauty like services and stuff like that and she started off at uni we had like a desk in our our hallway and it was originally by the front door and she had a girl come round and she was doing her nails and she had a dog and then someone like our landlord came to the front door and she wasn't meant to be like doing a service through our house and she also wasn't meant to have a pet in the house so it's like quack we grab the dog and we ran all the way to there was my our my uni house was like four floors we're like in the bedroom like with the dog but he would always show up all the fucking time that's not on so bad and then our sink was blocked for some reason and I I reported it whatever and they were like oh yeah don't worry we fixed it and um I went in the bathroom and my toothbrush was out of the the holder they did that is awful luckily he didn't use the bristles but my man used the end of my toothbrush to unclog the drain that's not right because he said oh that we used this wooden whatever to to unclog it and I was like hang on I was like my toothbrush use my toothbrush to unclog the drained him yeah I was like such disgusting I want you to buy me a new one what did he say he bought me a new one but no girl you could have imagine this man walked in there no no utensils no tools he went hand on hip rotated round and went that one that means his hand was probably on the bristle yeah yeah girl honestly my 13th I was traumatized that'll do it traumatised that'll do it that's awful traumatized that's awful surely there's laws against that I know this is what I'm saying no absolutely fine he fished my toothbrush out of the pot and I just bought that one and I bought a wooden one I was like oh I'm being environmental I'm being environmental and then I had to dash it okay well I don't know if that one takes that is traumatic honestly guys I was so angry so angry at this man it was ridiculous yeah okay do you remember when we both had a crash on the same boy oh god guys that was never again we were very young we were very young we were very young and that was a difficult time I'm kinda it's a really difficult time yeah yeah we I mean we've never beefed like that in in a long time never and we've never ever liked liked the same boy again no and I don't know whether it's because that situation was so traumatic or that or that those situations are just extremely rare I'm not sure so um it was fucked yeah do you know we were like 12 yeah yeah I know which one you're on about we were like 12 this guy was talking to us both at the same time yeah yeah yeah yeah and we were a lot younger than him we were and we were in the tiniest fucking school we were absolutely besotted but he was a fucking mute he was a mute he was a mute it was just one of those things where it's like the older boy and you're like oh just besotted that year group in general I mean now they're all like they had some good looking yeah yeah they have some good look yeah sexies they had some sexies they had some sexies yeah we could say that at the time because we were all underage yeah yeah but now I'm like crickets no I get a kick out of what a lot of them still follow me and I've unfollowed them oh nice Lily likes the unfollow button Lydia sat down with a person Lydia didn't Lydia sat down with a person and was like sat down with a friend who we're still friends with but that person very much rotates in snake circles. Yeah but yeah respect it if you still live in the small town you kind of need to you can't really have any meetings don't really cut ties these people come over sit down yeah and Lydia's like what the fuck oh shit anyway my man goes let me have my Instagram in your phone and they say well no I told him I'd help him find a job and that get literally gave me a pep in my step but don't worry let me I'll help you don't worry to you little fucking dickhead I searched his name in real time he's looking at my phone I'm looking at my phone okay I'm so you know when you have to type in their whole handle he goes oh he said maybe you blocked me it was like it's okay he was I didn't even know we had it had beef like I was like oh I was like maybe I did a clear out sorry and then I'm like no unless situations I would have died you're so lucky I wasn't there but uh the friend we were with ambushed me with these people yeah yeah yeah because more than often you go out with that particular person and they go oh yeah this is this person coming this person coming I was like I haven't I've avoided these people for three years and done very fucking good at it yeah yeah yeah like that's intentional yeah yeah yeah so I end up being they're like oh systems have been put in place to mitigate risk exactly and protect oneself exactly thank you and um oh what was I saying and I remember the scenario where I was like oh my god you're a fucking arsehole yeah I I was at that prom yeah and I walked up to him to say hello and my man iced me and brushed past my shoulder and I've never experienced someone ice me out like that and I looked around and I was like is he alright yeah because who he was with at the with at the time basically caught wind of some fucking bullshit that I didn't like or there was something like that but again guys will talk about this but we there was two different schools and there was chaos and things got misconstrued and like I said blue and red okay blue and red and Emma and I were reds we were reds we were reds well actually we were blues we were blues and they were they were reds yeah but the reds there was also greens but we don't talk about them no the greens didn't yeah the greens didn't make the cut no but the yeah we were the blues and I remember the moment feeling like absolute like rejection from a friendship and I was like don't know what I did wrong so the fact that he can be like oh I didn't even know that we had a thing just shows you how little you pay attention to your actions absolutely absolutely so and I I haven't unblocked him I have this man blocked I haven't unblocked him do you know it is what it is I'd rather keep it as it is looks like I'm telling you right now this guy he looks exactly the fucking oh what do you mean wait wait wait I have I can't think I keep thinking he's nosferatu but he's not he's not nosferatu no um fucking hell fill the silence dean do what you do best um yeah and I still haven't unblocked him uh and it is what it is but oh my god the the embarrassment this is why the mute button is better okay because if you block someone you're making a statement and I think you only block people that you don't fall in circles with if there's an opportunity that you're gonna bump into this person or if by chance they try and search you and they find out it's just really awkward and like we've said previously Rasputin that's what he looks like he looks like Raspoon Rasputin I think that's actually the worst insult you you know you rhyme me of Rasputin yeah oh my god um yeah guys use the mute button because oh my god the block button is a really awkward place and unless you're willing to really stand on business with someone um it's just not worth it yeah no I think yeah anyway returning back to to the initial point we both did have a crush on the same boy but we were young and I did get there um I have no idea how we got there we were tangent um yeah we had a crush on the same boy yeah and it was that didn't end well no it did not end well it's never worth it's never worth falling out with friends or people you're close with especially your girls over a boy no yeah because more than often if he's playing you both off of each other he really don't give a fuck he don't give a heck about you um or your friend or your sister in that matter and it was a really like I've shared um jokingly in the past comparison is not fun especially if you're twins it brings up a lot of um childhood trauma of wanting to feel different and all these other things and when you're like trying to compete for a man that's crazy crazy um and that went on that feels like that went on forever it did and then I don't know there were a few other crushes on to that wasn't there same ones no no no individual individual ventures but oh yeah because that never happened again no never happened again and it never will never will but that boy knows exactly who he is exactly and you know what I wouldn't look at him twice today no sorry about it no on that note that's always the case that was fun that was fun guys we had a little giggle that's what they have so grass pootin oh my god how do you even spell raspoon I'll tell you how you spell it um guys just to give you um uh an idea of the Rasputin Putin Putin Rasputin Putin okay um guys Emma and I are gonna be here there and everywhere in the next couple of weeks um so we might have some fun different locations for you guys I think we're gonna record an episode in Cyprus or two yeah um so that'll be fun
