Hi everyone. This week's episode is going to be a short one as I'm on vacation and won't be home to put together a regular episode. As I was preparing for my vacation, I was thinking about how relaxing it would be to not have to deal with daily stresses like work, housework, cooking, laundry, etc. And I told myself I needed to also make it a point to not deal with the stresses of my trauma. While I have told you about being well on my way to healing, I still deal with the trauma on a daily basis. Some days it is more of a stressor than others. And it's okay that I'm still working on my trauma. It's good actually that I continue to improve it instead of ignoring it. But we sometimes need a break from it. On my vacation, I'm going to find time for solitude, peace, and tranquility. I will find a place in time to give myself that, because not only do I deserve it, my mind and body need it. So my challenge to you this week is find some time, even if it's only for 15 minutes. Find a place that helps you feel peace and calm, and allow yourself to find some solitude, peace, and tranquility. For me, my favorite place to find that is the beach. Since I can't be at the beach all the time, I have been using the memory of the beach to help me relax. I envision the waves coming in as I breathe in, bringing calm and cleansing thoughts. As I breathe out, I envision the waves pulling back and taking all the toxic and negative thoughts away with them. It helps me release the thoughts that stress me, even if only for a few minutes, and it does calm my nervous system. Figure out what you can do that works for you this week. What can you do to calm your nervous system? I will put a prompt on my website to help you think through what you can envision to help you bring calm to your mind, to relax your nervous system, and to bring peace to your soul. You could also use this time this week to check out my previous episodes that you may have missed on your favorite podcast provider. Or you could find me on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, and you could check out my journal prompts on my website at breakingarborders.com. Whatever you decide to do this week, I hope you have a peaceful one.
