Figuring it out at 40: Life beyond the timeline
Figuring It Out at 40 is for anyone who’s ever looked around and thought, “Hang on - wasn’t life meant to look different by now?”
I’m Gem - 40, single, no kids, never been married (not even close), and learning to carve out my own path. After walking away from a job that was burning me out, I’ve been building a life on my terms: starting an online business, chasing sunshine in Ibiza, and creating a future that feels aligned - even if it doesn’t look like the traditional timeline.
This podcast is about real talk for life off the script. I’ll share the highs, the lows, the self-doubt, and the breakthroughs - all the things that don’t usually get celebrated but deserve to be. It’s about mindset, manifestation, and finding purpose when life hasn’t gone to plan. It’s about laughing at the awkward bits, grieving the hard bits, and reminding yourself you’re not the only one figuring it out.
So, whether you’re 30, 40, 50 (or beyond), single, divorced, child-free, or simply rethinking the path you’re on - you’ll find honesty, humour, and high vibes here. Think of this as a reminder that your story isn’t on the wrong track - it’s just a different one.
Grab your headphones and join me as we figure it out together.

This week’s episode is a gentle reflection on life, perspective and the things that really matter.
After losing a close friend recently, I wanted to share some thoughts, memories and the reminder she gave me about living in a way that actually feels meaningful.
It’s not intended to be a sad episode - just an honest conversation about friendship, grief, purpose and the shift that happens when life puts things into perspective.
Trigger warning: This episode mentions illness and loss
