Have you ever had a moment when someone said something kind to you and it stayed with you all day? Or maybe even longer? And then there are the moments when someone brushed up against you and they were rushed, distracted, cold. And that stayed with you as well. Hey my friend, welcome back to Brave Moves, your dailiesh dose of confidence, clarity, and momentum. So you can go confidently in the direction of your dreams. In today's episode, it's simple, but it might be one of the most important ones I share. Today, I want to talk to you about this idea. Be the kindness people brush up against. Because whether we realize it or not, we are constantly leaving an impression on the people around us. You know, we move fast, we're busy, we're distracted, and we're thinking about what's next. And in that space, my friend, we forget something really important. Every interaction matters. You know, every smile, every tone, every response, every pause, every moment of presence. It matters. Now, you don't have to know what someone is carrying because everybody in the world is always carrying something, including us. You know, the woman at the grocery store, the person on the Zoom call, the friend who just told you they're fine. You know, they may be grieving, they may be struggling with relationships, or they're holding together something quietly. But what you do control out of this whole interaction is how you show up. You know, kindness is not a weakness, regardless of what this world is telling you. We are seeing so many people in the public eyes speak about kindness, niceness, being out of touch. And I disagree. You know, let's be clear about this. Kindness is not being a pushover, saying yes to everything. Kindness is not ignoring your boundaries. Kindness is being present, being intentional, choosing how you treat people. Even when life feels heavy, and all of us are going to feel heavy from time to time. And I know that this is something that I want to work on because it's so easy to not be kind when you are just carrying the weight of the world. Now, small moments have big impact, friend. We tend to think that kindness has to be big, but it's not. It's something as simple as making eye contact, saying thank you, sending a quick message, or pausing instead of reacting, listening instead of interrupting. It's choosing that soft place in a hard world. You know, I saw an article yesterday and it really stayed with me. And it talked about how a person that goes to a restaurant and stacks up the dishes for the server is someone that views that server as a hard worker, as someone that is doing them a service and that is supporting them in some way. And they in turn want to return the favor and see them and want to make life easy for them. And the article also talked in terms of when someone is not very nice at a restaurant, and boy, have I been at places with people that I'm eating with and they are not very kind to servers. But when someone is not very kind to a server, basically they have the mentality that they are above them, that they are, you know, there is a hierarchy and that a server is beneath them. And I think that I wanted to remind all of us that no matter what we are carrying, all of the work that we each do is part of, you know, the contribution we all make to this world so that it can continue to move forward. No one is above anybody else, regardless of your background, regardless of your job. And most importantly, if anything, the people that are serving us are the people that should be really supported and admire and respected. But let's go back to the legacy that you are going to leave, my friend, because here's something I want you to think about. People may not remember what you said, exactly what you did. And we've heard the quotes, right? People will remember how you made them feel. So the question becomes what are people feeling when you brush up against you? When they come in your universe, when they're in your orbit. And here's your brave move for today: choose one intentional act of kindness, just one. Don't be performative, don't do it for recognition, just because. And notice how it feels, how it shifts your energy and how it impacts somebody else. And in a world that feels rush, friend, divided, and heavy at times, kindness is not small, it's powerful, it's leadership, and it's something every single one of us can choose. So, my friend, be the kindness that people brush up against. And if this episode spoke to you, I want to encourage you to share it with somebody else. You know, sharing is caring, and someone may need this reminder. Of course, as always, if you also subscribe to this episode, and most of you haven't, but I would love it if you did. Because when you subscribe, this helps this little podcast be found by others who may need to hear today in every day's message. And I so appreciate you for being here, my friend. And don't forget, go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
