Hey my friend, welcome back to another episode of Brave Moves Daily Ish podcast. I'm so glad that you're here today because today I want to talk about something really exciting. And maybe you didn't hear the news, but history was made this weekend. Now, if you are anything like me, I got my love of horses and horse racing from my dad. Now, I don't often get to do it, but I've been lucky enough to have attended the Kentucky Derby. And it was a dream come true to be a part of this exciting event that has been going on for hundreds, for 150 years. Now, there is a whole culture behind horse racing and training. And I will tell you that if you love quick, powerful mindset shifts, this is the episode for you. And make sure that you share this with someone who is in their waiting season. Now, I was thinking about this history that was made this weekend. And basically, the trainer behind the Kentucky Derby winner is Sherry DeVoe. And she is the four first woman trainer that has won the Kentucky Derby. And this is huge because there's a lot of things that came before she actually got to stand in the winner's circle. Now, if you haven't seen the race, I want to encourage you, go Google it and go look at it because it was exciting. The horse was dead last. And it's a two and a half minute race. All of a sudden, you saw him coming and you saw the horse coming from the back of the pack, the dead last, and steady, surely he kept going and kept going. And then he ended up taking the other horses and passing the majority of the horses on the outside and kept steadily moving forward until he got to the first place and won uh fair and square. And it was such an exciting thing to see. Now, what you didn't see in the race is that Sherry, you know, she started as a uh trotter or uh a hot exerciser. Then she moved to a walker and then an assistant trainer, and eventually she became a trainer. And not a lot of women have been trainers. This is a male-dominated sport, and not only is she a trainer, she is the first one that has won that race. And, you know, what we didn't see is the early mornings, maybe the discrimination, or the people that didn't feel that it was in it for her. We didn't see the years of preparation, other losses, and of course, the other horses that she has trained that did not win. What we did see is the moment and not the mastery, you know, because mastery doesn't come in one single moment. Mastery comes in a flute of choices that we we create, the choices to show up, the choices to be there, even when we are not seeing the results or the payoff for showing up. We also, you know, have to have the right environment and the right support system. Now, Sherry's husband is the one who encouraged to become her, you know, and open a stable and be a trainer. Now, not all of us are lucky enough to have a great husband who is supportive after our dreams and encourages us to do something scary. But I want to remind you that we all want a breakthrough. We want the recognition and we want the big moment, but we don't always respect the process. And what does it take to get there? You know, a trainer doesn't rush a horse to the to the derby. They don't say, let's skip the training, let's hope for the best. No, but they study, they prepare, they adjust, they stay consistent. And more importantly, my friends, they wait. Sherry has waited a long time to become the winning trainer. And, you know, not only did she wait on herself, but she waited on the right horse. And here's the lesson for you: you might be in a season right now where it feels like nothing is happening. You're putting in the work, but not seeing the results. And you're being overlooked. But what if you're not stuck? You're being prepared because timing matters, readiness matters, and forcing something too soon can cost everything. Now, winning moments are built in the quiet seasons, my friend. So here's your brave move for today. Respect your season. Instead of asking yourself, why isn't this happening yet? Ask, what am I being prepared for right now? And keep showing up, keep doing the work, keep training. Because when your moment comes, you'll be ready for it. And remember, you don't need to rush, rush your breakthrough. You just need to stay in the process long enough to earn it. And if you're in that season, friend, remember you don't have to do this alone. Come join the confident you community. It's free. The information is in the show notes. And also you can go to goconfidentlycoaching.com because there's lots of information there on how you might be able to get more support. I have free resources. But also, if you want someone in your corner, someone that can help you in this season to get to the winner circle, um, you can count on me. Until tomorrow, don't forget, go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
