Hey, what if the problem isn't that you're broken, but that you've never been taught how to practice becoming the person that you want to be? Because let's be honest, how many times have you said, something's wrong with me? Why can I get it together? Why does it have to feel so hard for me? And what if none of that is true? Now, before we go deeper, if this episode resonates, you know what I'm going to ask. Share it with someone who needs this reminder, or subscribe, or leave a review if you haven't already done so. And if you have done so, thank you. Thank you for being here and for being a part of this community that is building Brave Movers daily. Now, because we need more conversations, honestly, it is important for us to continue to do this work of being each other's community. And to tell the truth, um, everything sounds good, but it's even better when we experience it. Now, stay with me to the end because I'm going to help you with a shift on how to see yourself and give you one brave move that will help you start practicing confidence and not waiting for it. Now, we expect ourselves to be good at things we never practice. Think about this. You expect to speak confidently, show up confidently, make bold decisions, set boundaries, build something meaningful. Yesterday I went to a conference and the speaker, her name is Sandra Johnsey, and she is the founder of the eWomen's network, and she's been doing this for 26 years. She has built a community of women of over 500,000 women, and many of them are making millions of dollars in their business because they have stuck to it. Now, one of the things that stuck to me is Sandra was the keynote speaker, and she was incredible. She wrapped in this story into what she's been going through in her life, what her plan is, that she has a succession plan for her daughter to take over the business in the next three years, how she's worked with a coach for 10 years. And then she shared the story of how her daughter almost died and had a 1% chance of actually coming back 100%. And guess what? Her daughter hit the 1%. And if you haven't, you know, I'm not going to go into the story because this is Sandra's story to tell. And I will definitely share her information so you can go check out Sandra. But here's the thing that amazed me as she was speaking. And again, I'm a public speaker and I've seen a lot of speakers in my day. But Sandra spoke for 90 minutes. And can I just say it felt like 10? It felt like 10 to everyone in the room. And I was just amazed at the true expertise and mastery that she has as a speaker because she involved us in her storytelling. She involved us in her life and her message, most of all. And guess what? She didn't become that speaker overnight. She has been practicing. And again, she probably didn't do so hot in the beginning, but she stuck to it, which is what I want us to really be able to focus on. But we often, again, when we show up consistently and speak confidently and we expect that we're doing all these things, we are actually practicing. We are not supposed to get it together and be the expert at it just when we start. You know, we play the piano without practice. Not really. You're gonna like not know what to play a song. You can run a marathon without training, and then you'll probably be on the side of the road. All of that requires you to show up consistently. And when it comes to confidence, my friend, we expect it to just be there. And when it's not, we are making it mean that something is wrong with us. You know, you are not lacking. I want you to hear me when I say this. You are not lacking. You are unfamiliar. When something feels hard and awkward or uncomfortable, it doesn't mean that you are not capable. It means you're unfamiliar because confidence feels uncomfortable, not because it's wrong, but because it's new. Speaking up feels scary, not because you are weak, but because you haven't done it enough. You know, you've practiced staying small. This is the part we don't often talk about enough. You may not have practiced confidence, but you're definitely practiced something else. And this is probably what it is. You probably have practiced staying quiet, overthinking and ruminating, waiting, or second-guessing yourself, or more importantly, where I see this with a lot of my clients, they have practiced playing it safe. And now those behaviors feel so natural to all of us. And not because they're who we are, but because they're what we have repeated time and time again. Now, practice creates identity. Every action you take is a vote. Every time you speak up, follow through, you take a risk, you show up imperfectly, you are reinforcing this is who I am now. Not perfectly, but consistently. And over time, that becomes your identity. So here's the moment of truth. You don't become confident first. You hear me talk about this often, but it's true. Then take action. You need to take action. Now, confidence is built through repetition. You are allowed to be bad at something new, my friends. This is where so many women stop. Because the first time you show up differently, speak up differently, try something new, it's not gonna feel smooth. And it might feel awkward and clunky and forced. Instead of saying, I'm learning, we say, see, this isn't me. But it's not that, it's not you. It's just that you're not practiced. So here's your brave move, my friend. Choose one behavior your future self would embody, not just one. Maybe speaking up in a meeting, posting your thoughts, setting that boundary, or following through on something you've been avoiding, and ask, how can I practice this today? Not master it, practice it. Because practice builds familiarity. And being familiar with something builds confidence. Now, my friend, you're not broken, you're not behind, you are not incapable. You are simply on practice in the version of you that you're becoming, and that it's something you can change. And if you are ready to start over thinking and start practicing with another incredible women who are in the process of becoming, join us inside the confident you community. The information is in the show notes. And of course, if you are looking for additional resources or you want to learn how to work with me, go to goconfidentlycoaching.com and you can find all the information there. Because this is where we take real action, build real confidence, and support each other in becoming not waiting. And don't think that you have to figure this out all alone. You don't need to be ready. You just need to be willing to practice. And that is your brave move. Until tomorrow, my friend.
