There is a 90 year old woman who packed up her cat and two suitcases and left Sacramento CA to move to Nashville because she has been in a relationship with Vince Gill. She is in an extended stay because VG wants her to buy a house so they can be together when he leaves Amy. I cannot believe how prevalent this is!!

do you have any stories about victims age 70+ who made a recovery? Or is mild cognitive decline a near-insurmountable obstacle to recovery once in the grips of a scumbag? in other words: recovering from cult membership/addiction is a hard 10-year journey for a 20-year-old (and will most likely include relapse episodes), so is it even possible for a 76-yo? If there are success stories, I'd love to hear them

Good morning. I was scammed recently while trying to sell my horse. I know it’s not your usual thing but interesting from the point of view of the scammer’s attention to details. Thanks for what you’re doing. Jan Beebe

my name is Elizabeth and I monitored the Army Facebook page for over 10 years to warn people about scammers using our military. I have talked to thousands of victims, worldwide and the number one reason for getting scammed is loneliness. These scammers go by a script and when I talked to victims I would say “he did this and that and this is what you can expect next”. I have had husbands reach out to me because of their wives being scammed, we have sent police to a man’s house in Australia because of scammers. We lose seven people a week to suicide because of scams.. I could tell you horror stories and about me talking over the conversation with scammers to protect victims. That particular woman, if they know who the scammer is then we can send that to the EFCC in Nigeria. Facebook and all of Mark Zuckerbergs social media pages protects scammers. They even opened offices in Lagos and Ghana and scammers are employed. Good luck to that woman and her mother but scammers are very good at grooming and manipulating and no, I have never been scammed.

Hello. I am a therapist. Anastasia Vailas LCPC. Someone attempted a scam on me, so I am highly empathetic toward scam victims. I would like to sign up for the class to train therapists to help victims of scams, and to be on the therapist’s list of therapists who are compassionate toward victims of scams. Thank you for your time.

My name is Patrice and I have a story about a cautionary tale for families of elderly people. My elderly aunt was contacted by phone over the course of years. She was told that she won millions through Publishers Clearing House which seemed plausible since she occasionally completed and sent entry forms. The end result was the scammer changing her phone number and adding a PIN number so we were unable to contact her. Then when we got that cleared up, "Mr. Peterson" sent her a brief case with a combination lock through the mail with a note from him saying to contact him with his phone number (a Jack phone). We went through a lot to stop this scam. Police were disinterested. We were able to stop the scammer but unable to get back her money. Btw, my aunt had been a teacher and then an attorney!

Hi my Julia and I just sent an email regarding your 9/29/2019 podcast. It’s a long shot but thought I’d reach out. Thanks!

Hello, Is there any way I could speak to the victim of the episode about Chris Lloyd, published on 9/29/19 called "Woman out $75,000 after dating a man she met online?" If not, do you have any resources for someone experiencing the same issue with the same man? Thank you, Rose

Hello! I just came across your podcast, and I would like to share my story. I fell victim of a romance scammer from Ivory Coast a "brouteur" (and his network) that I actually met in person. It's been 2 years since I ended things. However, their foothold is still strong due to cybersecurity compromise.

It's unfortunate that scammers will rely on the gullibility of Trump supporters. But the actual Trump has fooled millions of people into thinking he cares about this country and its citizens. So it's not surprising that vulnerable people would fall for it. I do hope "Suzanne's" mother will stop what she's doing. I don't even care if she sees Trump for the morally bankrupt, personality disordered, greedy POS he is. I just hope she stops spending her time and money on scammers. April, have you been getting any reports on scammers doing the same thing to Harris/Walz or even Biden/Harris supporters? I don't see why scammers wouldn't, because they will take any opportunity. Thank you for your work, April. It's very important. I mention your podcast a lot. I'm a vehement anti MLM/scam/cult/high control group advocate, and I consider your resource an important one. Take care.
