We started this podcast with a few microphones, a lot of curiosity, and a vague idea of what we thought this might become.
Now somehow… we’ve finished an entire season.
In this episode, we’re reflecting on everything we learned along the way, about podcasting, wellness, creativity, friendship, ourselves, and each other.
We talk about what surprised us, what felt easier (or harder) than expected, the moments that stuck with us, and what it’s actually like to build something new with people you trust.
We also get into what’s next: future guests, dream conversations, ideas we’re excited to explore, and the direction we hope Softcore Wellness continues to grow.
A little reflective, a little chaotic, very grateful.
Welcome to Softcore Wellness Ep. 9: I Guess We’re Podcasters Now 🤍
Welcome to Softcore Wellness. I'm Savannah. I'm Chelsea. This is a space to explore without pressure, perfectionism, or performance. Softness, strength, and being human. That's the vibe.
SPEAKER_01Let's get into it. Let's do it. Okay. We're here. We did it. What we we made a season of a podcast.
SPEAKER_00And we're so prepared to talk about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we had a lot of fun. We are gonna take a nice little walk through some of the episodes that we filmed, um, reflections of the season together, things we learned about ourselves and each other through the process of season one and kind of where we see season two heading and that kind of thing. Um, super grateful to have you along the way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Thanks for joining us either for this episode or all the ones that came before. And hopefully you loved us enough to stick with us round two when we start up again. But I think just reflecting back, like when this idea first like came up.
SPEAKER_01Which I think is really funny, by the way. I said it to someone the other day where I was like, no, Chelsea, it's your idea. And Chelsea was like, no, Sabanna, it's your idea. Like no one's taking credit for the idea. And I'm like, no, it was you. And you're like, no, it was me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, we were definitely talking about like doing something, some kind of something together. Yeah. And I don't know who said it first, probably me, because you don't even like podcasts. Exactly. But that the idea of doing something together, I think, was yours. So to me, it was both of us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But we were just like, yeah, that'd be fun. And we were like planning to sit on your couch and yap and like film ourselves. Yeah. And here we are. Yeah. Like nine months later. Yeah. On a couch in a studio with a videographer. With a beautiful team and editors who help make our episodes so much cooler than they would be if we were doing it. Honestly, there would be no episodes if we didn't do it. No. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_01The team makes the dream happen for real.
SPEAKER_00As much as you and I like can learn anything, it just would never have been the priority to learn that. A thousand percent. We would have just sat on your couch and talked and been like, this is fun. Yeah. So I'm excited that we were able to make it happen. And we have an amazing team behind us supporting this and making the things we say look cool. Yeah. I think it would be fun to talk about just like I mean, most people have listened to podcasts at this point. A lot of people have tried making them, or you see like the behind the scenes of people making them. What has surprised you the most in this whole process?
SPEAKER_01Um, well, I think I learned a lot about myself. I like you mentioned, I'm not a podcast girly. I I keep trying. So I just I thought it was really funny that we were like, oh, let's make a podcast. And I'm just like, they're not my favorite thing. And then I'm like, who's gonna want to listen to me for an hour? And it's just it's been really like humbling and beautiful to get positive feedback from like a huge diverse um group of listeners that things really resonated with. And so it was humbling to me in that way of like, it's really not about what I'm actually saying. It's just about I think facilitating the conversation, and then that facilitates or inspires like the internal dialogue that we have. So that was really like fun and interesting. I think, you know, when we go to film, I didn't realize how energetically draining it would be for me. Like, I feel like you are like, yeah, let's go, we've got this. And I'm like, oh my gosh, like I need a nap uh to regroup.
SPEAKER_00I mean, we did learn pretty early on, like, oh, it'll be so easy. We'll knock out three episodes. Like after two, we're done. Yeah, we're absolutely done. Uh so tired. And so if you've ever seen us, I don't know which episodes are our third recordings, but there's at least one out there. And we're we're sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I think those are the biggest things I've learned. Oh, and then also, you know, with our in-person like socials that we've done, that was one of the really big things that I enjoyed is sharing that space and again being humbled in a beautiful way at like how much women in the community around Atlanta were craving that space and wanting to connect with each other and have a space, safe space to like show up authentically, be vulnerable, share things that are going on with their lives, move their bodies together and that kind of thing. That was just like wow, kind of kept me going, right? Like when I'd be like, I can be really overwhelmed or drained by certain things. That was a really big one for me. It's just like, no, people really like the intentional curated space to be themselves.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What about you?
SPEAKER_00Surprises for me. I think similarly, like, I mean, of course, when you set out to create a podcast, you're hoping and assuming someone's gonna want to listen to what you have to say, but just overwhelmingly, how much people have enjoyed our conversations and given us feedback. And I mean, the views are pretty great for like the minimal marketing, and we have paid for no marketing or ads or anything like that. And so just the organic nature of people having found us and viewed or listened to the podcast consistently week over week is really amazing. I mean, again, maybe I mean it is a little surprising because we don't know what we're doing, we're just here. But everyone's winging it to a thing, to a degree.
SPEAKER_01I think adulthood is just my dad will oh yeah, fake it to we actually debate this a lot because my dad's like, no-uh. But I'm like, everyone's just winging it out here. We're all just doing our best. You know, trying to live the best way that we can, be as successful as we can, balance things out. It's like we're all just winging it to a degree. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. So and but I think that level of authenticity is nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think I mean, we've talked about this before, like energetically. I do think the world is kind of shifting away from very fakey, plasticky reality type realness into really authentic um people actually experiencing real things. I mean, I think that's why TikTok does so well. It's real people sharing real things. Even the like TikTok shop and ads and stuff, it's just anyone on TikTok who has enough followers to like throw a link of something they bought on TikTok shop and they're all like super normal people and are having amazing success because people are like, oh, that looks like me or that person sounds like me versus a Kardashian. Yeah. Sorry, Kardashians, but your time might be done. I don't know. You've got plenty of money, you'll be fine. Yeah, literally. But yeah, I think those are the surprises. I think we probably learned a lot. I mean, you talked about learning things about yourself. We've learned a lot about how podcasting works. Yeah. Um, and all the moving parts and everything that goes in it and loading content. And sometimes YouTube takes 24 hours to load an episode. Um, so that's been a fun journey as well. Yeah. Also, I don't people probably don't know this and maybe don't even believe this when we say this, but like we really didn't know each other very far.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. People are like, oh my God, you guys must be childhood friends or like sisters or like this thing. And it was like we met like a little over a year ago now, right around. Don't you think?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but like I wouldn't say we even started like chatting regularly or anything until like mid-summer. Maybe. Yeah. And even that, we probably had like a dozen hours of time spent together under our belt before we decided to do something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was just like a weird, like meant-to-be thing, I feel like. And then we've grown so much closer through this process.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And stuff, which has just been so nice because I feel like when you're working on a project with someone that you're talking about vulnerable, vulnerable things, you're sharing that space. And then, like, for me, I've was I've been super busy. Like, it's like, what are your energetic boundaries? Juggling all the things. I feel like you've gotten to see me where I'm like really under stress, and I'm like, and so it's just been really nice to be able to like show up authentically and feel like I've deepened like a friendship with you, and it's been really beautiful.
SPEAKER_00It has been. I mean, I think too, like you guys see on camera, which is great. Not that like there's bad stuff behind the camera, but there's just so much more time together and planning and talking and figuring things out. And the podcast isn't the only place that we do things together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In business or for fun.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, and so there's just been so much time. And I think we've been able to like communicate really well together and learn how to, you know, work together. There's so much about us that's similar. I think we've talked about in astrology our big three are the same. Two of them are switched, but like we have those same three signs in our big three, which I think helps us understand each other.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But then on the other side of personality things in human design, you're a generator and I'm a projector. So you do a lot more than I do and have more energy to do it as long as you're excited about it. And for me, I'm like, I'm gonna set this one out. I'm gonna go home and be by myself for a while. Not that you don't have to do that too, but just understanding how we each work has been huge. And like, I don't know, I don't think we've had anything too crazy or dramatic at this point that was like obviously nothing that wasn't resolvable.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I think we're both like I always say I'm a good communicator, and then it'll be like I'm teaching a fitness class, and no one like people start doing the opposite of what I say, and I'm like, well, I'm clearly not that good of a communicator, but I feel like we're both decent communicators and value having like healthy conflict conversations or like, you know, conflict management. Like, how do we talk through it? How do we problem solve together? So I think like any little bumps we've had or any feelings, right? Like growing pains and like imposter syndrome or things like that, it's been easier than maybe other relationships with people to hold that space for each other and be like, how can I support you? Yes, that sucks. Okay, do we jump into problem solving and just kind of like navigating that with each other?
SPEAKER_00I think it's been interesting too, because I think a lot of the times when we've had conversations like that, it's been like before the thing where one of us is like, Hey, I might see this coming. I'm just gonna throw this out here now. And then we've been able to be like, oh, well, yeah, whatever, we'll fix that or we'll jump off that when we get there or resolve it before it even becomes a thing, which has been really nice because I don't know that I've had friendships with a lot of people who are even able to be there when it happens, much less before you hit it. Yeah. So that's been really cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's nice. Um, and then I would share, I think something that I admire about you.
SPEAKER_02Aww.
SPEAKER_00Is um Okay, what is it? Uh Savannah is so good at asking for what she wants. Also, like she, oh my god, like from an uh astronomy perspective, this like metaphor is trash. But like you shoot for the moon and land among the stars, which is not a real thing. But like you do, you're like, I want that. And so, like, even if you don't get that, you still get something great. And I think it's really admirable. Yeah. Also, just to even know what you want so clearly, most people don't, and that's really cool to witness.
SPEAKER_01I appreciate that. That's been a weird journey for me too. And I think even in the last year and a half, I've grown so much into my voice and being able to ask for what I want. And I think there's also a level of like detachment that I've had too, of like, again, I'm gonna plug death work, right? That we talked with Rachel, and like my definition of death work is that practice of impermanence and non-attachment. And that also goes into like non-attachment to a certain outcome. So, like, with that shift over the last few years, and then more really in the last year, year and a half, like, I'm just like, yeah, I'm gonna ask for what I want. I'm gonna ask for all the craziest things. I'm just gonna be like, this is a crazy request, but what are your thoughts? And you'd be surprised how many people say yes. Um, or negotiate you down to something different, or want to collab and do something else, and then something cooler and better gets created from just asking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I think that everyone kind of struggles with that. I I don't even want to be like women in the south or whatever. I mean, I think that's just a it's a hard skill, and I'm still growing into that voice, but I yeah, I do. I just I ask now. Yeah, like savage.
SPEAKER_00I'll just be like, oh I'm really good at doing it on other people's behalf, which you've seen too. Yes, uh like you've been like, hey, I need to talk to the owner of the business next door. Yes, and I was like, I'm like, well, I'll just do it because it's not for me.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. See, and that's an example of like sometimes I don't want to ask or I don't know, or I'm like, you know, it's it's not a one size fits all all the time. Um yeah, absolutely. I also really admire that you're very, you're so organized and creative too. You are, yeah. No, you're definitely organized. You're organized, but I always like that you will find a creative way to make shit happen, right? It's like I think we vibe on e with each other that way too, because it's like my attitude I would say is realistic, but positive in the sense of like if if someone wants to make something happen, or if I want to make something happen, I'm gonna fucking make it happen. Yeah. And so do you. We're like, we threw out these ideas and then we make it happen. And at first we're just kind of like, oh my God, wouldn't it be so funny if we did this and then we do it? Because it's just like we're driven to do it, we're not gonna get stuck by all the roadblocks. It's like we can problem solve through it, and I think that's really nice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think we bounce off each other well with that. Because not everybody is like that. Yeah. Other people be like, I don't know. And like I'm like, not with that attitude. Yeah. Yeah. And you just need one person to be like, all right, yeah, let's go.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I will make it happen. If it's not through this avenue, we're gonna go to plan B. And maybe plan C. Mm-hmm. Who knows?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. No, even when I was younger, I used to tell my mom all the time, I was like, I just want friends who want to like who say yes to things. Like a wild idea. Like, I just want people who say yes. Yes. And a lot of people don't know.
SPEAKER_01I think that's I mean, that's very deep-seated. That's people's like fear of trying new games.
SPEAKER_00This is not like a hate.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. But it's nice when you get someone that is like, yeah, let's do it. Yeah, let's try. That's the worst that can happen. It sucks. And then we did it and we tried and we learned that it sucked. Right. Literally. That's fine. It happens.
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah. So mutual admiration moment.
SPEAKER_01I know. And I think it's so nice. You've been so like compassionate with me being busy and like when I have gotten overwhelmed, like on a friendship level, but like as a partner, I'm just so grateful for that too. You have like kept me sane and grounded.
SPEAKER_00I basically just tell her to go home and take a nap.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're like, go home take a nap. Like, well, we talk through the things, and it's just it's it's nice that we can like hold space for each other. And I really value that because there aren't really a lot of people that I'll be like super, super vulnerable with, especially in the moment. Yeah, it's hard. And I would say, even like with crying, so like I take Prozac and it it makes the Prozac tears. Not the Prozac tears, but like it makes me not cry unless something really tragic happens. And like I will say, I've like bald my eyes out less than three times since I've been taking Prozac. But usually it'll be like, I'll cry a Prozac tear. It'll just be like the essence of a tear, and I basically sobbed, and that's that's that. But like LaCroix of crying. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In the essence of a flavor.
SPEAKER_01I know. And we sobbed. Um, but so like crying for me is very vulnerable more than it used to be because it just doesn't happen that often.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I feel very safe like calling you, like, and then crying and stuff. And I just think that that speaks volumes of your character and allowing someone to like feel safe and seen, yeah, and able to just be authentic and not have to like perform in any way or wear a mask. So I'm super grateful for that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's important to me. Yeah. And all of these things are a very important aspect of wellness, which like I know we've touched on here and there, and we had the friendship episode and stuff, but like really having community where you can feel safe and be fully authentic and share who you are and where you are. Yeah. Is hard, but so important. And like, even if you just have one or two people. Yeah. No, definitely. I think a lot of people don't go to therapy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, a thousand percent. Everyone should do therapy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Whatever kind. There's million kinds of therapy. Like, it's not just talk therapy. There's tons of stuff.
SPEAKER_01So what works. There's even like like somatic breath work and like that kind of thing too. That like it, yeah, it doesn't have to be a talk therapist. It doesn't have to be something like that, but something that's like really allowing you to tune into yourself in a vulnerable way. It's like that self-awareness, navigating your emotions. I mean, it's hard work. Yeah. It can be really uncomfortable. But I do. I highly recommend it for everybody. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Especially if you don't feel like you have people in your life you can really lean on in on the hard days. Um, okay, switching gears a little bit. We had a lot of amazing guests. We had a lot of amazing conversations. Is there anything that like in your memory sticks out? Like, obviously, we loved everyone. Oh yeah. We loved every episode. So we're not doing like this was my favorite thing, but like something that you think about often that we either talked about or someone shared.
SPEAKER_01Um, well, I really appreciated my friend Rachel coming on to talk about death since that's been a theme of my whole life. And I think um getting her perspective was really interesting to kind of hear like her career and moving through the end of life care. Um, during that episode, you could see that I visibly got uncomfortable during certain things. So that's something that I still like revisit and sometimes like to go back and watch because it's just illuminating like the work that I still need to do with my discomfort or past trauma or like whatever, like death is hard. Um, so I think about that one and I think that was really nice. I also think it was really interesting because I was like ready to talk about like the afterlife and like reincarnation, and Rachel's like, no, there's no. And I was like, oh, okay. So it was just like an interesting little like plot twist, but I loved like her perspectives and talking about like the ambiguous loss and stuff, because I think that's I mean, that's a constant guarantee of life. Things are gonna change and end. And so yeah, I think that one overall, from a wellness perspective, knowing that you need to stay nimble and whatever that means to you to be able to like pivot or soften in those uncomfortable moments of change and stuff like that is just that's it's a big one. So that's something that I still I think about from day to day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. It was a good one. For me, I think when we started the podcast, like we had this vision of like being out in the world and doing all these interviews and doing all these activities, and we got feedback early on that like your audience is gonna want to get to know you. Yeah, and see you guys, you know, having conversations and being authentic and just talking about things in the wellness world. And so, again, not talking favorites, but I think I enjoyed our one-on-one conversations a lot more than I anticipated. Not that I was surprised that I enjoyed it. I know, I know, I know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That like we like the friendship episode. I remember leaving that one. We rode together that day, and I remember in the car being like, oh shit. Like, what did I just say? Oh, like am I like I was really worried about going live with that one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Galantine's the friendship one. Oh, I remember that. Well, and I think too, again, that goes into my imposter syndrome with not liking podcasts. I'm like, people are gonna just sit and listen to us yap for an hour. Like, okay. But they actually, it was like very natural. It felt really nice. Like, yeah. And then, yes, same thing. That was a pretty vulnerable, one of my most vulnerable episodes, I feel like. And we both kind of left filming, being like, oh what did we just do? Yeah, like, are we gonna like this? And it's one of my favorite episodes. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Our editing team, that was one of the first ones where they were like, okay, you guys really have something here. You really hit your stride. I mean, that was literally like episode three.
SPEAKER_01But still, but it was like, it was good. And it was really nice to hear we launched it on Galantines, but it was really nice to hear from people of all gender identities and things like that, like that it resonated with them. Yeah. Um, especially when we talk about outgrowing your friends and having different seasons of friendships and stuff like that. So yeah, that you're right. That was a really that was a good one. And it was like, yeah, scary, but well received.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We had a live event the night that it went live. So most of the people hadn't seen it yet, but we did a lot in-person conversation about a lot of the topics that we talked about in the podcast. And it was a little hard at first to get people chatting. There was a lot of people there who didn't know each other. Um, but once they started talking, like they would have gone on and on and on. And it was really fun to witness.
SPEAKER_01It was really nice. And again, I think that just that craving of the community in that intentional space is incredible. And the first one that we did was before we even like launched the podcast at all. And it was such a diverse group of women, and it was just so amazing for people to be like, Oh, I almost didn't come tonight, but wow, did I need that? Yeah. Um, which is to no credit of ours, but like it's it just creating the space, just being there for people to show up and connect is just incredible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we've had a lot of really amazing in-person events and are planning to continue those. Yes. Even outside of the season. So if you're in the Atlanta area, please follow us on Instagram and you'll see anytime we're doing a live event, they are almost always open to the public. Always. Um, even though a lot of times we hold them at like apartment complexes. You can buy a ticket and come join us. Absolutely. Um, the ticket is well worth it. I mean, you usually get a free workout class and some swag and sometimes a meal and beverages. And oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01The last one we did, we planted zinia seeds for like springtime. And I go in and check on them every day, and they are growing towards the sun. I'm so excited.
SPEAKER_00I have one that's like this big and one that's like Yeah, I had some like bloomers, and I'm like, are those the ones that I pull out?
SPEAKER_01Because maybe they're not the strongest. And I'm like, I'm just gonna give it some time. Yeah. But yes, stay tuned. Um, I know we're gonna do like a really fun like summer movement class, probably over in Grand Park area. Um, so stay tuned for that. But that'll be really fun. Lots more outdoor things to come, pop-ups and fun stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, collaborations with local businesses. Not too long after this episode goes live, we'll do like a season one rap party.
SPEAKER_01Rap party. It'll be fun. I love that.
SPEAKER_00We haven't planned it yet, but we've got a little time before this episode goes live. So um that'll be really fun. Yeah. So this is a wellness podcast. I don't know if you knew that. Um, but uh in doing this, has anything changed for us as far as like how we view wellness? Like for me, I think when we were coming up with softcore wellness, it was really about like approaching things with curiosity and making sure you were choosing wellness activities and habits and things that like truly fit in your day-to-day and were sustainable. So I'm trying to think if anything's really shifted for me based on the conversations we've had. I still feel pretty strongly about leading with curiosity and listening to my body and all of that. Yeah. Am I good about it every day? We can't win them all. But it is more at the top of my mind because even just like creating the social media content, like every Wednesday, we do a check-in post. And so as I'm writing those and thinking about what we post for that, um, it's definitely just getting me thinking about like my wellness and all of that a little bit more. So, like I said, I don't know if I feel like anything has changed, but I'm more present with it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, I feel like I've had a little bit more of a shape uh change and shift with just softening in general. I have had a past of really hardcore dieting, restricting, exercising. And so it's been a theme within the last five years or so of softening in a lot of ways. And I think having all the conversations between you and I, and you know, talking to different people in the community and hosting these in-person events have been so inspiring, listening to other people share their experiences, um, that it's really helped me integrate it more into my life on a daily basis to soften and honor those little soft moments.
SPEAKER_00Um so we are softcore wellness, but was there anything this season that was more hardcore?
SPEAKER_01Um, I'm calling this my empire building year, right? I feel like I'm just I'm pouring into the community, I'm pouring into myself. Um, and that does take sacrifice. And so I think that there is a level of hardcore ness or at least like the commitment level to get there. But burnout is a real thing. And I have definitely caught myself in moments where I'm like so burnt out, or I can like see it coming. I'm like, oh my gosh, if I don't take a day off, yeah, it's gonna be bad. Um, and by bad I mean my body gets sick and makes me lay in bed for three days, like that kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00Um about you? For me, I think it was how ambitious we were about everything we were going to talk about, everywhere we were gonna go, everyone we were gonna interview, like I think we were gonna wrap with like nine or ten episodes, which like was a lot and it was a lot of work and uh took a lot of time. The fact that we thought we were gonna interview like 30 people and like but you know, you gotta aim for what the moon to get the stars or whatever you said earlier.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Yeah, you know, you pivot. Yeah. And we decide we're gonna wrap a season and then take a little break.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And let the ideas simmer again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think when we started, we were just like, we don't know, like we'll just keep going. And then I think in the last like month and a half, we were like, this feels like a good stopping point. Yeah. Let's take the summer, figure out what season two looks like, totally, and go from there. Yeah. So on that note, what are some of your things you want to carry from season one into season two, or things you have learned from season one that you want to make sure we do differently in season two?
SPEAKER_01Um, maybe one thing that I think would be fun is to highlight pillars of the community that maybe has a wider umbrella of wellness. You know? What about you, Chelsea?
SPEAKER_00So things from season one to season two. I think as an organized girly, I would love to go into season two with a little bit more of a plan of like, okay, now that we've done a season and it was X number of episodes, season two can be that many. How many are gonna be interviews and how many are gonna be just us? What topics do we want to cover? Who do we want to interview? And then just be like, and then we're done at the end of that. Um, I think part of probably what stressed us both out was not having a clear end, just being like, we're just gonna keep doing this forever. Yeah. And then once we were like, let's end season one and have a break, we were both like Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And you know what that just made me think of? The silly kids game Candyland, where it's like, okay, we make our little season Candyland board and we're going through it, but it's all storytelling, linking it. And I think a little bit more of that intentional journey for the listener, yeah, um, andor viewer would be really fun to improve upon in that way. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's I like that. And having like a through line.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, which ultimately I'm sure we kind of did just because we like relate to what we're talking about, but we could be more intentional about that. And I think that would be easier for us and for our team supporting us. Okay, two questions. Okay. But they're together. So guests for season two. Yeah. Let's talk realistic guests who we want to see on the pink couch with us or in the pink chair next season, and ones that are like delusional, either people you would be like nervous to sit across from, but like you want to do it, or like just dream interview. So realistic and dream.
SPEAKER_01I would like to get an author of some kind to interview. I know someone who can help us do that. Okay. Yeah, I think that would be really cool. Which isn't a specific person necessarily, but I just I think having like a book club element would be really fun for me, in my opinion. It's like, let's read the book, let's interview the author, let's all talk about it. People can participate at home. I think that's fun. Yeah. And I mean, I'm going through a big Harry Styles phase. I think I would like fangirl and not be able to speak if we got to interview Harry Styles. Totally. He's an Aquarius, it would be fine. Yeah. His birthday is the day before mine. He's not the same year. I'm a little older than him. But his birthday is February 1st, and mine is February 2nd. And just so everyone knows, we can, you know, send this to Harry Styles so we can see it. Everyone tag Harry. In Dreamland, we're like besties. So in another realm, I am friends with Harry Styles, and I hope he dreams about me too. Yeah. In a platonic way. Yeah. Let's just totally clear that out of the way. Right. Yeah. We're friends.
SPEAKER_00We like eat pizza and stuff. It's like chill stuff. I love that you said eat pizza. She doesn't like pizza except like twice a year.
SPEAKER_01Okay. You're right. I do. I have the pizza eating dreams. That's I do have that because you know what's funny is there's this one friend that I've had since high school. And it hasn't happened in a while. It's been a few years since I've had a pizza eating dream, but like with him. I love that this is a thing. It's a thing. Yeah. So like a lot of times, because I have like weird, sometimes prophetic dreams, but like I'll I'll dream about someone and that'll be like my little like check-in moment with them. So I'll be like, oh my gosh, like I had my annual pizza eating dream about you, which is a thing. Ryan, if you're listening, you know. That's amazing. And I'll be like, hey, I did dream a pizza last night. Like, how's your wife? How's your life? What's going on? What are you doing? How's your job? And it'll just be like a quick 10-minute catch-up via text or something.
SPEAKER_00Because you dreamt about eating pizza.
SPEAKER_01Because I had my pizza eating dream about them. It's so funny. But you're right, I don't really like pizza. Although I did think about eating pizza today on the way over here.
SPEAKER_00That's like twice a year, you guys. And she's like, I'm craving pizza, and so trying to get pizza because she's never gonna want to eat it.
SPEAKER_01You've got to really like get on it. My mom loves pizza and she's always trying to get me to eat pizza. And I'm like, no, I wanna eat anything but pizza, which is this unpopular opinion, but I mean, I get it. Yeah, it happens. What about you? Tell me your your ideal guest and far-fetched guest.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, realistic guest. I think a real person who will be on the podcast next season. They should have been on the podcast this season, but it just didn't work with schedules, is Ty from the Union Fitness.
SPEAKER_01From the Union, yep, the owner of the union.
SPEAKER_00He really helped us make this little dream a reality. And I think his like life has been really interesting in the wellness space. And I think he would be a good one to have on the podcast. And I know he wants to be on the podcast. Like I said, it just didn't work. It almost happened today, y'all.
SPEAKER_01Almost, but darn. No. Ty's amazing. He's super driven entrepreneur. Um, I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without my partnership with Ty and him believing in me, but also other entrepreneurs around the city and community in Atlanta and stuff as well. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00I love that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So next season, look forward to that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we'll kick it off with Ty.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He'll be our first interview.
SPEAKER_00We say that, but if we can make that schedule work, I'll make it happen.
SPEAKER_01We'll make it happen.
SPEAKER_00If season two comes later than expected, it's because we were getting Ty in our first episode. Oh my God. Um for me, a dream guest. Um, I've talked about this person on the podcast before, but I love Jessamine Stanley. She's a yoga teacher who is also in the queer space, and she's Polly. And I just think I met them in real life at a retreat that they did. Um, and I've met a few other people in the wellness space or in the like spiritual wellness space who like I met them and I was just like, I don't feel like you walk the walk versus you talk the talk, but do you walk the walk? Um, and she's just so incredibly authentic and embodies everything that she shares with the world. Um and they're just doing really cool stuff. That's cool. And I would love to have a conversation with them. Oh my god, yeah. That would be really cool. They're from North Carolina, but I don't think they live there currently. So but they're familiar with the area.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, here we go. Well, we're gonna we're gonna manifest, right? We're gonna manifest her and Harry Styles. For sure.
SPEAKER_00Maybe not season two, but you know, season something. Season something. I also think too, we talked about this year, but I don't think we were quite there engagement-wise. But I think we could get there in season two to do like a QA episode where people send in questions about wellness or about whatever topics. Um, and we may not always have all the answers, but we can research or talk to our resources.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00I love that some answers for people.
SPEAKER_01Um, so if you're already thinking about questions, yeah, and even inspiration for other episodes. I know that our our death episode was inspired by a friend in our community that when we mentioned it, like death work in the first episode, I think, in reset season, they were like, Oh my gosh, I would like actually love to hear more. And that's when we started pushing for like, okay, yeah, let's like actually make this episode a priority. Yeah. And that's because someone was like, this would be a really great topic that I'd love to learn more about and hear more about. So I would, I would love that too.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Having community-driven episodes and like a think tank of ideas and topics.
SPEAKER_00All that to say, we are listening. So, you know, let us know. We'll put your ideas to work. Yeah. Um, what else that are you looking forward forward to in season two?
SPEAKER_01Um, well, I like that we started this season with like reset season and like reflections and intentional moving forward and softening through making new habits and stuff like that. And I think that, you know, taking a little bit of time off in between, I think it'll be really fun to come back and like report back on like, you know, we're constantly growing and learning things. So it's like, what did we learn in our little time off? Um, and how are we applying that moving forward uh in our lives and relationships and friendships and and things like that? So I'm looking forward to that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that'll be especially fun because you all will have seen our routines episode when this one comes out. So it'll be fun to revisit that too and just say, like, remember when we thought this was a good thing to do every day?
SPEAKER_01Especially when I was like, I wake up and roll out of bed. I already can say I'm working on that one and getting up with more intentional time before. So I think that would be really fun to like even revisit and be like, okay, in six to eight months, what routines have you released that don't serve you, or what have you added? And how have you adapted to different changes or the seasons and needs based on like career moves or focuses or whatever? Or it's like um recently I'm super excited to run a 5K jog, jog a 5K. And so I have that part of my routine has been, you know, running a couple times a week and stuff that I wasn't doing before. Yeah. So even like those little things, right? And like the little victories that you've you've had, the accomplishments, um, even the failures are obviously very important too. You know, where did we learn from messing up?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So no, I think that's good. I think too, it might be fun to talk a little bit about. So for us, we've always defined wellness as mind, body, and spirit, and having those things in balance and paying attention to all three. And that's, you know, how you truly are well as a whole person. So in our break, what are some ways you're gonna support your mind, body, and spirit? So it sounds like body-wise, you're planning to accomplish jogging a 5K.
SPEAKER_01A dog. Well, I'm gonna be opening a studio space in Buckhead. So that'll be a big thing that I'm working on. And I think that's gonna test my balance uh in my routines with all three. Yeah. Learning to soften. So I think for me, like the other day, I was actually inspired to pick up a book, which I've been in such hustle mode that I haven't been inspired to really or even had the time, to be honest. So I think I do wanna be able to have intentional time um to read a book, like a fantasy book, like a let me read for fun type of book. I've been abandoning my nap routine, my indulgent naps. I've been pulling all day ears because I've been so busy. Um, but I think that goes with I getting better sleep at night personally and my nighttime routine. I don't think we talked about this in the episode because I don't think that I had started using my new pillow mask. Oh no, I don't think so. So over Black Friday, I found this like really amazing like silk eye mask company. And I got myself a beautiful fancy silk pillowcase that I now have multiple of and this whole thing. And sometimes when I buy myself nice things, they'll sit in boxes for a couple months before I use them. Like when I got myself Gucci shoes, they sat in a box for six months. Really? Yes. Yes, because I was like scared to ruin them, and they're already distressed anyway. Like, yeah, I know. So it wasn't until like the last month or so after we had filmed that episode that I start using like this really nice pillow spray with my little night mask that's just like a pillow for your face on my silk thing or whatever. And so like that has become like I when I do get a time for a nap, I almost can't nap without my my whole little sleep routine. Um, because interesting. Yeah, and it's like I cut back on phone time before bed because I'm like let me get in my like space and the smell is like I'm conditioning myself to smell the smell, and it's bedtime, I'm winding down. And um, I forget why I was even saying that, but like uh that is gonna help me, I think, have balance with like all the things mind, body, spirit and stuff too is having the sleep. And so, you know, continuing to check in on that and making sure I'm eating enough. I think making sure I'm getting like nutrients and making time to eat, and it's also like sitting to eat with your food and instead of just inhaling things over the sink.
SPEAKER_00Eating with intention, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Mindful eating.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. Yeah. What about you? What am I doing with my break? This feels like a like summer break yearbook. Have a kick ass summer. Lila. So I think for me, something I realized, I've been doing a human design challenge on TikTok where I just am like, I know a lot about human design. I make charts for people, I love doing it. But am I really living my design as best as I could? And I'm not. Um, and so this month I challenged myself to just focus on my energy type, which is a projector. Yeah. And make sure I'm like being thoughtful about it every day. It's not like enforcing myself to like every single move I make. Am I being the most projectorious projector I can be? It's more just like spending some time every day reflecting on it and like I'm live videoing it on TikTok or whatever. But one of the things I realized this weekend is huge for everyone, but is really big for projectors, is like we have to play. Like we have to be silly and playing and doing things that don't matter in between projects. Yeah. Um, and I'm not playing enough, period. Um, and so yesterday I had a play day where I did art and I sang and I blew bubbles off my balcony. But even while I was doing all of that, I was like, this isn't enough. I need more, I need more. So I'm gonna be a lot more intentional about finding play. I like that in my day to day life.
SPEAKER_01I think a lot of people can work on that regardless of their human design. Yeah, absolutely. Like I finding that child like of something. Bubbles is a good one. You talked about it first episode. Yeah. And I think that that is uh a theme that keeps coming up for me since we've had that. Is it's like every time I see bubbles, I'm like, it just is so magical and it's just so simple. And throwing an event soon, and my one serious demand was bubble machine, or I'm not going. Like we are having a bubble machine. Bubble machines are great. Yeah. I'm like, I will buy it. I don't care. We have to have it.
SPEAKER_00I have bubble guns on my balcony. Yeah. Like I have regular bubbles, but I have like guns. Yes.
SPEAKER_01I need some of those too. Absolutely. It's like any outdoor event, bubbles must have.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, so that's been one that has been a really good one. And you brought that up about how you always carry bubbles and stuff. And I think that that's really nice to engage in a form of play like with yourself and your inner child of just like finding joy in the little things.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So that's what like spirit mind a little bit. Body-wise, I think I've been going through not a transition per se, but just some medical stuff that hasn't allowed me to do the type of workouts that I love. And so I'm hopeful that not too distant future, I'll be able to do more like lifting again because I love to pick up heavy things and put them down. I haven't been able to do as much of that lately. And so looking forward to doing that. And then I think just in general, working on creative projects, I have a lot of books in my mind and a lot of songs started on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You do have some cool stuff that you're working on.
SPEAKER_00So hopefully those things get a little more life with a little more free time. I love that. Stay tuned, everyone.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna manifest it for her.
SPEAKER_00Books coming your way. Um, but yeah, that's my summer plan.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love it. Thanks. And we'll throw, we'll throw some events too. Community events. We'll get together, we'll have a little pool party or fun things, movement. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We want to do a movie event too. Oh my god, movie night. Stay tuned while we figure out what we think about. What the soft or wellness movie is, but yeah. We'll go with something. Yeah. Something nostalgic, I feel like.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Feel good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like it. Well, I want to say thank you again to everybody for tuning in, listening, supporting, commenting, sharing, attending one of our in-person events. It's just, it's been really beautiful to have people come together, whether it's virtually or in person. And I'm so grateful and honored to be able to be a part of the space that we've created together. It's definitely more than just Chelsea and myself. It's our team. Like she said, it's, you know, people, local businesses around the city that we um are allowed to come in and share space with and meet everybody and do these things. So I'm super grateful and want to extend that. I hope you can feel my energy through my voice, through the video. Um, but I'm super, super excited and looking forward to what next season brings um in my life and your life and all of your lives, and how we can also continue to come together and share that with each other.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. To continue, you know, approaching everything with a little bit more softness.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_00Especially with ourselves and yourselves. The world is brutal out there.
SPEAKER_01And it's about to get hot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, in Georgia.
SPEAKER_01How can we soften in the heat?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I love the heat. So I'm like, let me melt away. Oh, thanks. But I'll be inside in my air conditioning on blast.
SPEAKER_01But yeah. All right. Well, we'll catch you next season. Let's say it. Ready? Yeah. Three, two, one. In softness, we thrive. Woo!
